Can I be for real, like I really hate the hey girl, like it's so cringe like in real life? I would never step up to you and be like hey girl. It'S Vanessa welcome in like it's just are you near clearly I'm new here this video is going to be a little bit different, while I'm installing this beautiful wig. I am going to be talking about how I became a wig influencer and the steps that you can take to do the very same thing, if not even bigger. This is so simple. You just need to apply yourself a little bit more, especially if you are already working you may be going to school. You might got kids, so I know it's a little bit hard um to navigate, but it's not something that's impossible and it's something that could put some extra money in your pocket. So it's a no-brainer like and you're getting free hair come on, like don't limit yourself to. Oh, I'm just going to be doing wigs forever, making wig content forever. Nothing is an indefinite thing. Use this as a stepping stone to get you to where you need to go, if you're, promoting a business, do that, if you're trying to become a content creator, do that, while you're doing it use this as a stepping stone. But the first thing you need to do is start the start. You got ta start. You got ta it's time for you to stop planning and actually start doing. Okay, you have to start, do not work for a damn free wig, I'm not knocking anybody. That needs a free wig, but baby girl put some respect on your name and charge charge them people your worth, just like when you charging that okay where's my gift was my flowers. That'S what you need to be where's, my money. I need that wig, but I need that money more like let's get to this bag. It'S 2023, like it's a whole inflation going on out there like X, is ten dollars. Why are eggs ten dollars? So if you ready to learn and make some extra coin this year and next year and the following year, then stay tuned for the rest of the video I'll talk to you guys in the next clip um. The first very first step that you want to do is you want to set up the um technical things, so in your bio, if you're, using tick tock in your bio, you want to have your email address or you want to have it connected to your Instagram. So that when the companies want to reach out to you, they'll have a way of reaching out to you. So I recommend making an email address or using your personal email address, putting it in your Tick, Tock, bio or you can connect your Instagram to your Tick. Tock thing: if you're trying to become a YouTube influencer under all your videos or under all your content, you're gon na put your the same thing. You'Re going to put your all your socials in the description box and you're going to leave your email address in the description box, because, what's the point of doing all that, work and companies have no way of contacting you. The next thing that you're going to want to set up is a PayPal account. This is how most of these companies are going to pay you well all of them really you're going to have to have a PayPal account. What I suggest is treating this wig influencing thing like it's a real business, because then you could like write things off and get many tax benefits, because you do have to pay taxes if you're getting paid for it. You got to pay taxes and I even think that, even if they gift you a free gift, I think you still have to pay taxes, I'm not sure about that. But I know for sure, if you're getting paid to make videos and to make content, you have to pay taxes, so I think it's best to treat it like it's a real um business and by doing that, you would just have to set up your LLC get An EIN number I'm going to be doing another video where I'm teaching how to start a business, because I do have my own hair company. So I am very knowledgeable about starting a business so and probably in the next video I'll talk about that. But for now you can just set up a PayPal account, and this way you can get paid, because I mean what's the point: if you're not getting paid well, the next thing you're going to want to set up is a either a link tree or a beacon Account this is where you're gon na put the links to whatever wig or whatever product you're, promoting, so that your audience go to your link. Click on it and they'll be able to purchase that same wig that you are doing your video on. I personally like to use Beacon, because I just like the way you could like customize it, but I'm pretty sure you could customize on the tree too, but I prefer vegan. That'S what I use so you're gon na need to put that in your bio, and you can put all your websites in that one. Um link and it'll be like a list of you know all your wigs that you're promoting at the time and all your websites. So the next thing that I really really really really recommend that you set up as soon as you can is apply to be an Amazon influencer. I'M begging you like, I said before it's 2023 and we're getting to a bag. Why not make extra money when you when someone asks you? Oh what spray are you using? What brush are you using? What edge control are you using? You will have them all linked in your Amazon storefront. I know there's like some type of requirements of becoming. I think you need like a thousand um followers on any one of your social medias. I'Ve even heard that people became Amazon influencers with less so make sure you apply as soon as you can. I guarantee you when you make your videos. People are going to ask you: what products are you using every time they click onto your Amazon, storefront and purchase some? They order something off of Amazon within 24 hours of clicking your link. You still get commission off of that purchase, so it's a no-brainer just. Do it get that back? There'S nothing left to do now, but to just get started and start making content. I know you probably like girl, I don't have a wig. I can't afford to buy a two or three hundred dollar wig to make no damn video here's what you're gon na do you're going to start off just making natural doing videos of Just Hair. Your own hair show people how you wash your hair, how you condition your hair, how you blow dry it straighten. It show them how to do that. If you have a little bit of a budget, go to the beauty, supply store and do a ponytail get like a little cheap pack of hair and do a ponytail. I think you could even get a pack of braid in here and do a braided ponytail. That'S what one of the videos I started off with? I did a braided ponytail. It went viral and those are one of the videos that I got recognized for um. So having a wig is really not having a wig is not an excuse. Some girls say that you can purchase a wig and then do a review and they pay you. The company will pay you back after you finish doing like a video. I don't recommend doing that because I don't recommend. I don't recommend doing that, because I want my money up front and I want I want money guarantee like I want to guarantee that I'm getting my money, there's really no guarantee with with that, like there's, no guarantee that you're gon na get your money like you. Don'T want to sit there and do a full-on review and video, and then the company is like. Oh well, you ain't do this. You ain't do that. We can't pay you now. You just spent two three hundred dollars on a wig that you probably could not even afford in the freaking first place or even if you could like you was expected to get your money back and now you're. Not so I really don't recommend doing that like so. I don't recommend going that route um. Also, some girls recommend um hitting up the companies. I don't recommend that either because these companies have hundreds and thousands of girls hitting them up every single day, like they're, either gon na look over your email or, however, you hit them up or your DM or they're just they're gon na lowball you they're gon na Make you do it for free? Are they going to tell you they're gon na pay, you twenty five dollars fifty dollars and that's what we're not doing we're not doing any free content and we're not doing no cheap, we're not taking No lope like in this economy. Once the company sees that okay she's doing videos she's doing your videos, they're gon na start to hit you up. Trust me. You just need to be consistent. Just stay consistent girl. I know like it's like a cliche, I feel like people all the time. People say because it's they can stay consistent, but that's literally the Key of Life staying consistent. That'S literally, the key to everything like everything is consistency you plant that seed and you continue to water it and you just watch it flourish over time and the only way you can do that is with consistency. This is the work I'm about to install y'all. I over plucked it over here. I don't know what I'm gon na. Do I personally recommend using a use wave if you got away at home, show them how to reinstall it. If you know how many videos you can get with one wig, let me give you a few examples with one wig, you can get a install video. You can show how to wash the wig wash dry reinstall it um. That'S two different videos. Um! You can show how to style the wig you can show how to remove the wig. You can show how to remove the glue off the lace. You could show how to pluck the wig. You could show how to bleach the knots you could show how girl, so there's really no excuse. If you have an old wig, you can get so much content with that one wig um or if you don't have a wig at all, just use your own natural hair to get hair content. Now that you made your content - and I gave y'all at least 10 15 8 to 10 content ideas, okay, whether you have a wig or don't have a wig. I gave y'all a few ideas, and now your next step is to actually post it. Do not leave the videos in. Don'T don't, please don't leave the content in your phone. Don'T sit there for hours and get all this content and do all that hard work and leave it in your phone, and, what's that mean there's a a tech talk um your favorite book is stupid, is holding you back babe, your fear of looking stupid is holding You, the back so when I first started doing hair videos, I got laughed at and I was laughing to the bank. Don'T let those limiting beliefs and thoughts in your mind. Stop your bag post, your content, babe! Another fear for you probably might be what people you know are gon na think but girl people when you start to get lit and you start gaining mad followers and you start getting hella likes and you start getting brand deals and you lit they're gon na be Singing a different tune, baby trust me so just post your content, I beg of you just post your content, every content, creator that you see on Tick, Tock or YouTube, I'm pretty sure they felt silly in the beginning, but trust me. It gets easier. You start to not give a damn what other people think and just post for yourself for real just post for yourself. You know you got a goal in mind. Posting your content, being in front of the camera in front of thousands of people, is one of those things that you're gon na have to do, and it just is what it is. Okay, okay! So now you want to know how much you should be charging these companies. What should your price be? It is kind of follow-based, but when you're starting out you should not be doing any kind of work for free. I think I said that already, but I can't stress that enough do not do any work for free. Please um. It messes up the game because, like then they'll, then the companies is gon na expect other girls to do free videos and I'm Gon na Knock in a while. You don't want to free wig or nothing, but nobody should be doing these videos or promoting any company for less than 80s 100. And that's if you know your followers are really really on the low end and just getting started. When I first started, I charged a hundred dollars hundred dollars y'all. I thought I was getting it. I thought I was getting it charging a hundred dollars, um I'll, tell them like yo. This is so much work that I'm doing, and then you have a deadline. So it's like this is too much of a hundred dollars, so once I saw that um it was getting too much and my followers was growing at the time too. I'M like I'm gon na need 200. I bought it up to 200 and at that point I think I was at about 10K or 15K when I bought it up to 200 and if a company was not willing to pay me Buy on to the next and then after 200. I bought it up to 250 and at that point I think I was at about 20K, 20, 30k and then um one company for a long time. I was at 250, for, while I was at 250 um probably was at about 40K and also charging 250. until one company up and they offered me 300., I'm like, and that was the first time a company. Actually it um hit me with a number, like usually they'll, be like. Oh, how much do you charge they hit me up? It was like we'll give you 300 for a collab, I'm like if you're willing to give me 300. Then I know I could ask for more: they act when they offer me through 300. I was at 75 anyway, didn't you know it? They agreed to the 375 and from then on, I was only asking for 375 and then I was at about 375 for a while, and then I hit probably 60 70k before I hit 100K um, I started asking for 400. I think you need to learn how to negotiate. If you're going to be in this business, you need to know how to negotiate. It'S it's just it's a part of it for you to throw out a number and they're going to say. Oh, can you give us a discount, that's why you need to just I'm not gon na lie. You need to bump your price up. Um. If you know you want 500 for a collab, then you need to say a higher number so that when you're negotiating when they go down, you are either above what you actually really wanted, or you hit exactly what you wanted, or maybe a little bit below so Make sure you get your negotiation skills up because yeah they're gon na be like? Oh no, it's too much. We need a discount we need to discount and then once I hit 100k um, I wasn't doing anything less than I wasn't doing anything less than for 500 and that's just for two Tick: Tock videos and Lincoln bio. For about a week. If there's a company that wants you to keep their Link in your bio for longer than a week or two weeks, you need to be charging for that. You need to be charging for them all day. They, some of them, will be like. Oh keep. The link in the bio forever keep the link in the bio forever or keep thinking about you for a month. Babe we're charging for that. So right now I have a hundred and about 140k on Tick Tock, and I have 700 subscribers on YouTube and per week. Collab I'm making about 600 to 850 for each collab, which I think is the beautiful like what one wig I'm making between 600 and 850. Like that's mind-blowing to me like when I first started, I was only getting 100 freaking dollars, so just keep going so like what you need to actually record. I should have said that, even before making the content, because you kind of want to know what you're going to need to record on, you can start with an iPhone um. But if you're doing YouTube and Tick Tock, which I highly highly highly recommend. Even though Tick Tock is my um main platform, I'm currently growing my YouTube and you need two devices, obviously, because down here can't see it, but I'm actually in the middle of making a tick tock. While I'm making this YouTube video you're just doing one platform, then you just need one device and the best best device that you could ever use is an iPhone once they see. Okay, this girl is posting. Her content, consistently they're gon na know that you're serious they're going to start flooding your DM and your email. I get about 10 to 15 um inquiries about Club labs every single day. Also, you want to keep in mind that you don't want to take on too many wigs, because there are deadlines that you got ta meet, so don't sit there and accept 20 wigs um. When you know you can't do it in that amount of time, because you will not get paid, if you don't post within the time frame that they ask you to post, which is usually a turnaround time of two weeks. So after they ship out the wig and then you receive it, that's when usually the two weeks countdown starts. So when you receive the wig, that's when they'll say: okay, the wig is due um or the content is due in two weeks. So hopefully, you were able to find this video, helpful and and your journey of, because whether you're already in what influencer - and you just you know, just kind of needed, a few answers questions a few answers questions. This is why I don't be talking because I say anything like: why would I why would I switch the words anyways, but hopefully I answered a few of your questions and any concerns you may have had. I know I don't know everything, but I know what I know and I just wanted to share that information with you guys because it might it might help it might help
