#JAYMESMANSFIELD #COCOPERU #WIGS

Hi everyone, james mantle here, bringing you yet another video. Oh my god, you guys, as you can already tell we are in my glamorous kitchen. Yes, because we're gon na be doing some dyeing today, not that kind of dime we're gon na be doing dyeing a wig. Yes, i had this human hair bob from elisa. Yes, and i honestly got inspired to do this video because well, i recently did a video with aaron. Not so recently, we did a video together dyeing a human hair bob that he found on amazon and the most recent edition of this very long, lengthy series that he's been doing with this human hair wig. Honestly, he needs to get me awake by now, but still that's neither here nor there, the last style we did ended up. Looking like a mixture between coco peru and an oompa loompa. So oh she's, right there look at her, okay, the american head's wearing it, and i thought to myself: i want to make a cocoa peru wig. So that's what we're doing today! Oh my gosh. We are going to be doing a celebrity wig recreation. Yes, we are gon na be making coco peru's iconic bob hairstyle. Now i know this wig is readily available in many different variations, but this is the james mansfield edition, so we're gon na be doing the most that's right, the most. So i am going to get this hair all prepped, so actually i should show you what this wig looks like beforehand. Just so i have that screen capture, and so you can see what i look like. It'S such a short small drew barry morris kind of bob. Welcome back, oh my god, y'all can't take me all right. I look like michelle pfeiffer in scarface right now. Look at me more like michelle pfeiffer after she's been pushed out of a window and batman returns. Tell me actually. Actually, it's very much like ring ring ring hello. Imagine that was on. Oh, my god, hello. Who is this? What'S your favorite scary movie, i don't. How is it i seen that movie so many times and i don't know the dialogue by heart by now? Oh, i remember now my boyfriend's big. We play football. He'Ll kick this. Are you ah good times she died in that anyways? Yes, it's very very more ask i know you're all jealous you're, all so mad at my human hair, bob. That'S right. Human hair y'all can't take it. Y'All are so mad real mad that i got a human hair bob on y'all can't take it all right. I'M going to take this off and we're going to start dying all right. Let'S get started, i'm going to take my shimmer lights shampoo and i'm going to mix that up with my mixer, because we're going to tone this hair to take the yellow out of it. Yes, i'm going to take that in there and squish it around and do that for about five minutes. Until i see the yellow start to dissipate and then we're gon na take our farrika dye from a door and i'm going to swish that around in the water. With my little froffer thingy the little mixer you get from like joanne fabrics, it works really well for mixing and get that water, all nice and mixed up and just dunk that wig in there and swirl it around. Yes, swirl it around there. We go doing it similar, making sure it is all covered gets to every follicle of that human hair wig, yes, human, hair and yeah. I did this for like ten five minutes until it was the color i wanted and left it in there for a little longer too, because i got i i forgot about it but yeah. I did that and we're dyeing it right now. Yes, once it was the desired color i wanted. I rinsed it out until there was no more color in that water. That'S right rinsing this wig out. Look how gorgeous it is. Yes, oh my gosh shampoo. It too welcome back all right. We have her all colored and girl. I think it came out really good like it looks like coco's hair. It'S that nice beautiful auburn color that tawny auburn color, that coco always has oh gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. Now i'm going to start styling her and to style this hairstyle believe it or not. It'S actually not that much effort. I kind of stumbled upon it, as i was doing that wig for me. It like came to me on accident, so i was going to keep protect the hair before i put a curl in it with the iron now y'all probably already know this from drakehurst 3 and whatnot. I love coco peru. I think she is one of these gold standard drag queens of comedy. That'S why i put her in that countdown, because she is amazing and just the stories she tells like it's one of those great drag queen acts where the storytelling is so so good. Like her woman shows are amazing and she tells very relatively few jokes - it's just these hilarious stories that she manages to like make out of her life. Like my absolute favorite one. If you ever get a chance to see her, she probably will tell it or at least ask her at the meet and greet she'll probably give you. The summarized version is the story of her and how she got free, cable from the cable guy for over a year. Ah, it's my favorite stories. I won't go into it because it's in her act, but if you're stumble upon coco dmr or something i asked her, how that story goes, but it is amazing. Like again, i think i think she is just above beyond great drag queen of comedy, and it's honestly one of those styles. I really really love it's. What i adapted to my woman shows whenever i used to do them, was more about the storytelling and being able to take the audience on a journey as opposed to just like joke joke joke joke like if you're able to touch the audience of the story. That is really like ooh the ace in the hole for comedy and she's, very, very good at that and honestly, i don't know if the wig she wears a synthetic or not coco, if you're watching, let me know, is your weak synthetic is that your personal question Is that a wig, some of y'all may know coco peru from her youtube videos with garrett watts, but i know coco from a little movie called trick and girls will be girls, the latter more than the other, but her little cameo and trick is iconic. One of the first times i ever saw like a dragon drag queen in a movie like that. We can tell like oh she's the real deal and like she's popped up in other things too, like if you look really closely like blinking you'll, miss her she's into wong fu. She has a little lime she's going with the gun. She has her a smaller version of the little cocoa flip, which is probably what this one's going gon na end up, looking like, because the hair is a little shorter than hers. Nowadays she wears it a little longer. I think it reminds me of anything she reminds me a lot of um. If you ever read comic books, marvel's millie, the model, there's a the bad mean girl model chili. She has red hair and she always wore it in like a fabulous flip and she was to die for because she was such a to all the other girls she's such a snot, and it's like she was the most fun to read those books for because she Didn'T care she's, like i'm gon na, say what i got ta say she's like i don't think you were that great she wasn't looking beautiful and not very that kind of energy. Nearly the model. Definitely look it up. I'M sure marvel's probably got some of those converted by now the classic stuff, not the not the 2000's remake that one was no good models. Inc was not here for it all right. Now, i'm going to tighten the springs and i'll be right back and we'll start. Our very quick but very fun, all right. We are back now i have the wig all curled up. I put the springs in her. Yes, i even did an under curl to the bang, which is well a little bit of the knowledge here. That'S how you get a betty page, bang just put the roller on the end of the bang and just roll it, and that's how you get that nice little under curl of the bang all right now. This is going to be really really quick, because coco's hair is really not that complicated. I'M going to run my brush through it and work it up with my hand, it's honestly just a little flip. Oh nice, 1960s flip, a la jackie, can be only prettier. I just need to train the curls to go the other direction in a few places, but honestly it's pretty much there. I wonder coco. If you watch this ever, let me know how long does it take to do your hair or the person that does it? I want to know i'm generally curious. I know you have to get that. Those springs touched up every now and again, and i also heard that great story. She told once about how she wore a different wig for a show and people were upset. They said no, no, no, we want coco peru and she never wore a different wig again she's stuck to this one ever since i think that's so great and like every one of us straight queens are so jealous of her that she has one wig that she Wears oh, what a luxury! I wish i thought more about character branding, but i guess nowadays you can't really get away with doing that. You have to be really established like she is it's a lot hard to pull that off now, but it's so great because she's, like a cartoon character, she's instantly recognizable. Because of that hair i mean it's her merch, for christ's sake, okay turn my curly iron back on, because all you're gon na do now is just train. These sections down, which i can do with heat instead of using a flat iron, basically just go like that. Over the hair, that's going to train it to go down. I just have to re-curl a few sections that got a little crisp but other than that she's got the cocoa flip. I told you it's gon na be fast all right. Now i'm gon na train these sections down and i'll be right back with the final welcome back. This is the final result. Now the hairstyle is definitely there. Something weird happened in the dyeing process like as i was curling. I noticed that, like the ends really lightened up a lot, which is weird, it's like i didn't go into this trying to do an ombre and ends up ombre. Oh well, it's coco, peru! Inspired now, yes, but i feel like it's like coco peru and like a lifetime adaption of her life like not without my tension, tame tama, the cocoa, peru, stool ring or it burns the coca-cola story. Here, let me set the scene, you ever get your eye gabriel. It burns. Ah, i wish i could have dab the hairstyle like this to my repertoire. It'S so fun with livable, although the ends did kind of bum me out that i didn't quite take the dye as much as i hoped it would, which is crazy because, like i put a whole bottle in there, i don't know why it didn't fully die, which Is so strange, but it's still a fun look. It'S like fire. You know like young and vibrant coco, peru back when she was in high school experimenting with her hair, but not too much because that's a lot to dedicate yourself to oh, my god, i'm getting a brooklyn accent already. Oh, my goodness, i'm getting lost in the character! Now this video is so much fun to do if you want to do any more drag queen recreations. Let me know down below. I just did this one, because honestly we styled it and it came out in that wig, so i thought well might as well. Do it here now, don't forget to like comment and subscribe and until next time bye that bothers me now hit the outro click here and see my carrie colby wig inspiration? Oh, it's me style. A human hair wig i made myself like from scratch, come on click. It you know you want to, if you don't click it i'll make a woman show about how much you bother me. So click it

Adam Mocaby: Love love love when you talk about the legendary queens or people from the past that the kids may not know about. Coco should be known by everyone that cares about drag in any way. Great video as always Jaymes!

Jamie Metrick: Girl, I can't wait to brew a cup of Tension Tamer, get a slice of Panettone, and watch this video!

Matty Marjolet: “That Bothers Me: the Coco Peru Monologues” My first exposure to her was To Wong Foo as a child. It wasn’t until I was at the end of my teens that I watched her stand up on Logo. My favorite joke of hers was of gays really did go to hell and what a party it would be and how much she’d enjoy confronting all the people who called her a f*gg*t and turned out to be gay as well.

Rosé Chardonnay: Besides you Coco Peru is one of my most favorite queens so this was a really fun transformation for me! You're becoming really good at dyeing those human hair wigs! Loved the "tension tamer" reference lol

Frankie Salati: LOVE the celeb recreations….LOVE when you talk about legends and spill all the facts!! Side bar - if you’re doing a warm color like this fantastic copper, you don’t need to tone the yellow out, you actually want the yellow! The golden undertone of the yellow will help support that copper and make it look that much richer and vibrant because it has some pigment to grab on to. LOVE YOU!!! ❤️

Tyson K: Curling irons (or any high heat) can remove semi permeant color. Most likely the hair did not color evenly due to the porosity of the hair fibers. Using an equalizing solution usually helps porous hair to take color more evenly. Though I do not think it will work when using the coloring method (dip dying) that you are using.

J H: Love Coco! Also, after you revealed the curls, it totally looked like the head was sitting on top of the heat protectant spray. And since Jaymes is the Master Magician of Wigs, it's totally possible that it was. I see you and your subtle magic tricks! Love these videos ☺️❤️

Sadie Peterson: It’s the heat that pulled the color out off the ends. The heat styling will always pull out the color 9 times out of 10.

ThereGoesKitty: love miss Coco, when I'm down I watch those videos of Coco in various stores and markets and they make me feel like everything might be ok

Danny Townsend: Thank you for more of the Mansfield magic that we love

Jasper Hickey: Doing a legendary queens series would be so cool. Teach us the herstory

Uriah Parlet: I love smaller wigs like that on you! ❤️ such an awesome drag queen!

Eduardo Rosa: The color is such a match for Myrtle Snow's hair. Please recreate Myrtle's hair

Morgan Wood: Thank you for this, Jaymes, and for schooling the children about classic drag as usual! An invaluable service, you provide. Just one little tiny bit of feedback: the volume level is a bit too low compared to your other videos since you've started filming in your kitchen. Just one concerned YouTube drag queen to another! Thanks again, you're amazing!

xander james: "It burns." Coco Peru is such a super fabulous, funny queen!

Su 4242: Legendary Lewk I love when Coco does vids from her garden. She would be fun to share a cuppa and a natter with, eh?

Heenah: I love these videos but I’m not a fan of showing the final result in the thumbnail. Still, I love you and all of your wigs ♥️

Envicar: Coco is one of my favourite drag queens ever

Ashton Maherry: I think this must be the first time I've watch a Jaymes Mansfield where the wig hasn't been teased! I don't know how I feel about that! Love the video :D

Drayson Keo: I’ve been asking for you to dye wigs for years now it feels omg I’m so hyped for this video☀️☀️ I have been watching Ernies vids and been hoping the dying would transfer to this channel

Chantel Fawson: Coco is a legend! Thanks for the tribute episode ♥️

J.Sanime: Coco is one of the best queens in the business. I saw her Taming of the Tension show a few years ago and it was magical. I love, love, love her.

sutarikun: Now, since I have the Coco Peru makeship plush, I need a little Jaymes one as well! Crossing fingers for an eventual collab!

Elizabeth Ramirez: Love the dye wig videos it is different but still much fun

Aislinn Draws: Love how when you're talking about Coco having the same hair as the villain in the Millie the model comics, the first image that pops up shows Millie having the exact same hair that you're currently wearing!

Cody Zane: Would love to see you recreate the wig that Granny always wears. She is a wonderful drag icon

Stassie Coon: The reason the ends may have lightened up could’ve been that you used a hot tool and if it is to hot it can actually burn the color off love love love your videos

Alexander Oxóm: I gotta grab some tension tamer to take this, this doesn't bother me. I loved it James! (Probably Coco will be bothered, but you know, she is like that)

Jorge: More of these please!! ❤️❤️❤️

the slayification of charlotte : adding in reference photos is so helpful thank you!!

Carrie Tobey: This makes me want to re-watch Girls Will be Girls, where I first saw Coco. So hilarious!

Braun_Dzign: I love Coco Peru more than expensive European chocolate. We don’t say Coco has one wig, we say she has “a signature look.”

T McConnell: love the way you are doing your make up as of late. It looks softer some how. Love every thing you do.

Jawr: I love how you’re feeling yourself in the blonde bob lol

mtronix: you look so darling and gorgeous in this dark vintage looking dress w this wig . i actually own a couple vintage dresses from the era that are this style … one is black crepe with a medium to biggish flower pin w different shades of pink petals . the other one i love but the jewelry on it was taken off … it’s the same style but black w shiny silver lurex threads . it’s ruched down the center from the bust to the waist to the hem . it’s 3 quarter sleeve . there was prob gorgeous notions … one where your flower is and then at the cuffs . maybe you could use it as inspiration since this style is so chic on you ☺️ i have this other really glamorous vintage gown dress thing … very gabor sisters . it’s prob a women’s 10 maybe ? i thought maybe if you could alter it to fit i could send it to you . thank you for your fun channel and ernie’s too happy new year

Chip Ellooo409: If you did a lady bunny inspired wig that would be hilarious

morgan sidhe: A glow-up of Bob's famous wig. Stunning

Lora Brock: Love how the videos are being edited with the popups! It's like VH1 popup video!

GothBoy UK: Before the curling it looks like (Little) Nell Campbell's hair. One icon's hair transformed into another icon's hair!

Leslie: You make my day brighter in this awful New England winter.

Brayn Roquero: Was in a low mood earlier. You make me happy even just for a bit. Thank you

Carl Brain: More Dyeing! See now you have me out here needing to go try this! But a human hair not my hair lol

Jade Iroq: I LOVE COCO!!! You need to do a Coco Peru numba' in your show!!!!

James Brown: Jaymes! You’re beautiful as a red head as well as a blond. You should wear that hair color more often. xoxoxo

Richard McWolff: Keep in mind hon. This is a human hair wig so the ends are older hair fibers compared to the roots so they are going to be more porous so the tint will take a little differently and in your case lighter. IF you use a filler at the beginning for the ends it SHOULD take more evenly but you'll need to choose a filler color closer to the color you want in the end so a red based filler for the Coco wig and so on. Looks great as usual! OH and another reason why this may have taken strangely is that the purple bath for a wig that is going to be this red wasn't necessary so that may have contributed to the lighter ends as well. HUGS

Chango Loco: Would love to see you recreate a Lady Bunny look....oh wait...you already did that for Trixie

Jess Holcomb: Would love to see some recreations of Juanita More, Biana Del Rio, Darcelle, Goddess Bunny, BeBe Zahara Benet, Manila Luzon, Crystal LaBeija, LaGanja Estranja, and Hot Chocolate...I'm obviously craving your historical knowledge on the legends PLEEEEAEAAAAAAASSSSSEEEE <3

Scoop92: When I see Coco Peru I think of her cameos on Will & Grace. That was where I first saw her :)

Starlah Mutiny: The queen of cranking out videos yasssss!!!!

Cesar Lorenzo: I love her too!!! I wonder what happened with her channel? She has those " shopping with Coco Peru” videos? It amazes me how she can make a shopping video HILARIOUS!!!

Pnutty: I wish I could dye my actual hair this easily. Just stick my head in a bucket and be done with it lol

XTRA 4 LIFE: This wig is going to “bother her “ . She will definitely need a cup of Tension Tamer !

Bennie: Coco is SO smart and such a talented comedian

Celestial Virgo: Not a wig recreation but I'd love you to recreate and follow iconic drag makeup looks like trixie or miss fame or sasha velour etc

Bowdy Bear: I’m getting 5th element LeeLou multi pass rather than legend icon and star, the Queen for all peoples Miss Coco Peru but YAAAAASSSSSSSSS

GlitterCoke: I actually heard that Coco only has one wig and it’s the same wig she’s always had.

Eddie The whale: The end result color/ombré is giving what Tina Burner’s wig should’ve gave in that little black dress runway

Dylan: Thus should be a series. You recreating legendary drag queen wigs

Germán M: Omg jaymes you almost forgot to tell us it was human hair wig

Travis Maupin: Miss Coco Peru is an Icon

S H: After reading a story about the sourcing of human hair for wigs, I don’t know if I could ever wear one.

Gabe Williamson: OK the wig head reading Jaymes in the wig pre-styling is SENDING me

TheEvil Walrus: Hey Jaymes, Coco will be voicing a character called Pauline Phoenix in a cartoon coming to Netflix, called DeadEnd: Paranormal Park :D

JoeSatana: Lovely!! but don't be confused, Coco's accent is no Brooklyn. Since Estelle Getty passed away Miss Coco Peru is the Queen of the Bronx, straight outta City Island.

Abigaile Montgomery: Please try to recreate SYMONE’s promo hair✨

hocus pocus: dear lord jaymes getting joke burned by the iron actually scared me i gasped out loud

Sophie Prosser: Can you do a dame Edna inspired with recreation!

Sinndy Morr: Yes! Show us the Queens, our Queen!

Jordan O'Dwyer: Heat can fade the dye out of human hair...a low pH conditioner and lots of heat protection helps

Elena D'Amico: Such a fun video!

R Yvr: the ends of the human hair is always going to be more porous and will not hold the color the same as the rest of the strand unless a "filler" is used

Riva G: James, have you been taking acting classes and auditioning for movie parts? I highly suggest it as I really see this for you. Even parts that are not for drag queens particularly, but you audition in drag anyway. Just a feeling I wanted to share with you. It could happen

Casey Jones: Can you do a Hedda lettuce wig?

Light: This woulda been that much better if Coco was actually in the video lol

beyonka: the final result gives tina burner as coco peru LMAO

Deborney Armando: Love yah Queen⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Abdias Arevalo-Garnica: I clicked on this video so Jaymes Mansfield wouldn't take my boyfriend Avril Lavigne style!

Daniela Wolff: The sound was too quiet when you were dying the wig at the sink.

lovemutts: Coco playing GTA is my favorite video of hers

Rene Angel Rodriguez: Went from 5th Element to Coco Peru

edward mahony: If you had dried the wig after toneing it the colour would jumped onto it better!

Scott Dow: Please please do a Jodie Harsh recreation

Sam Wheat: I drank my celestial seasonings tension tamer tea while watching this video.

Terra Bull: I wonder if the wig is human hair?

Channel 1 Texas: The lightened up ends... "That bothas me."

Fiddle Sticks: I love you so much but I also wanted to say your voice sounds like a more feminine steve-o

mtronix: SO SORRY. i heard ronnie spector passed on. i know you love her so much.

Jolene Stamps: ♡

Faith York: Darling heart. Just wanted to send support after the passing of Ronnie Spector. You’re OUR baby.

james clarke: Does that wig come with a Pantalone? So surprised she has not shown up on Snatch Game.

Scott Brinson: You mean the CoCo Peru style that Marlo Thomas wore in 1966?

Cindy Shirreffs: Please can the mannequin have a name?

Roque Horror: OMG OMG OMG YEEEEESSSSS

Nathaniel Root: “That bothers me”

Philip Nguyen: I just want to say I love Scream :I
