Sugarluxe: There's something heartbreaking about when a black person doesn't know how to use a hot comb. Those are YOUR tools girl. Learn them. I grew up in Brooklyn so you know every other block has that one lady doing hair in her kitchen and all she dishes out is pure magic with her hot comb

The old ways 1: Poor girl. Her mom is saying that she cut it correctly. Always like Hair budda says, at he tip of your nose. Or even better, start at your upper lip. You can always go shorter. I saw she sectioned her hair of in a wide half circle. Here's a tip, no matter if you sectioned of a triangle ( please make sure the top of the triangle is before your apex. So not starting from the highest point of your head, that is to long and if you do it wrong it will be to wide too). What the mother could have done is, section off a new part, triangle this time. NOT WIDE, just staring higher then the half circle. Comb down the hair from the triangle section down and cut this part longer! It will at least cover the short bangs, which where to thin anyway. I'm not a fan of the half circle bangs. I personally prefer a soft rounded triangle. So no straight lines going down towards the outer side of your eyes (or eyebrows) but make the lines go in a very soft rounded way. I hope that makes sense.
