So all right, so i'm going to style my jinx wig from arcane - and this is the cheapest longest turquoise wig. I could find on amazon. I ended up getting two of them just to have like backup hair, so i could add extensions or more volume. It'S pretty long i'll probably be using some of this to make it a little longer on the pigtails and then maybe add to the bangs. I'M definitely gon na create a new hairline. As you can see, this is not a lace front. It does not have a nice hairline at all. It'S just one of those really cheap party style, wigs um, so i'm gon na show you how to create volume, how to create a hairline, how i style, really structured, slicked, back hair, and hopefully it turns out good to be totally honest. This wig is intimidating even for me, and i have styled a lot of pretty intense wigs in the past, so i just want to stop procrastinating it and really jump into it. Just get it started because that's the only way i'm going to get it done, figure it out. So let's do this, so i think the first step i'm going to do for styling. This wig is start slicking back all the hair, and i'm just going to do that by taking a hot glue gun and putting glue down and laying the hair back. So it holds its shape. I'M not going to worry about the hairline right now or the track, showing i'm just going to try to get all the hair structured and held against the wig cap back around the top and the sides so yeah you can watch that process. Hey guys, as you can see, this side of the wig is slicked back. This side of the wig has not been yet so i'm gon na do that. To the other side, i just have been using hot glue and i also used some got to be spray and a brush and i'll just spray. It slick it back blow dry it and then i will put hot glue and also with a wig this long. It gets tangled very easily so make sure you have a wig brush on hand and constantly check and make sure you're not building a little bird's nest down there, uh brush it out from the bottom up and yeah, i'm just gon na. Do it to the other side now and then after that i'll tackle the hairline for the hairline extension. I start by gluing on some stretchy fabric to the underside of the wig. Then i gently stretch the fabric over the foam mannequin head and pin it in place. I use chalk to trace where i want the hairline to end on the fabric, then i start cutting chunks of hair off from the base of the second wig and apply hot glue to the ends of the hair. Then press the hair down warning do not touch hot glue with your bare fingers. It helps to have a cup of ice water nearby and a spoon to press the hair down. I'Ve been playing with hot glue since i was a kid, so i'm able to touch it without burning. My fingers keep repeating this process until you cover the fabric up to the chalk line. When you get to the chalk line, you can use the tip of the glue gun to press and smooth out the edge. You want this to be the cleanest edge, because you won't be adding another layer of hair over it. Then you can cut off the fabric and cut the hairline into the desired shape. Here is the wig on with the new hairline. I will be gluing it to my head. When i actually like put the makeup on, i am really really happy with it. The actual wig starts like way back here, so it definitely added so much more space on my forehead, it fits around all my hair really well um, and it actually helps with the like big animated hair look. So i'm really happy with that right now, i'm just parting, the hair and picking where i want to have the different sections of like the bangs, the part down the middle for the pigtail braids. There is so much hair on this thing. It gets tangled so much. I keep having to brush it out and untangle it so long, wigs, definitely not my favorite to style and so far this is definitely by a long shot, been the hardest wig i've ever styled. So it's been taking a lot longer than i expected, but i hope it looks really good by the end. Um, i'm really happy with the progress so far. I think it's like actually kind of cute just down, but i think it'll look even better with like the bangs more styled and then the pigtails. So now that the base is ready. Let'S get on to the styling, i use got to be hairspray and brush back the hair on the sides of the wig. Then i secure it with hot air from a blow dryer. I do that around the entire wig base and leave out some loose hair in the front for the bangs. I start with got to be hairspray and back comb the bangs to tease the hair. Then i brush the outer layers of the hair to smooth them out right now i am working on the bang area. This is not a proper braid. I am just trying to keep this rat's nest from getting tangled. It gets so tangled like every five minutes, so i'm really glad this wig is in braids because outside of braids, it's just it's a total mess. Next, i use my scissors and cut upward to thin out the bangs. I occasionally spray them with hairspray to help style them and continue cutting them until i'm happy with how they look. Once i'm happy with the cut, i make this little dent in the hair, with some hot glue and wrap it around some scissors. Then i spray everything to hold it in place and go over it with a hair dryer. Next i braid the pigtails on the wig. After everything is styled and braided i fixed the color to do this. I watered down some darker blue acrylic craft paint and brush it throughout the hair all over the wig. Not only does this fix the color, but it also helps with the shine while the top of the wig dries. I add extensions to the ends of the pigtails. I just cut a chunk of hair from the second wig and glue it to the bottoms of the pigtails. Then i blend it in with the rest of the braid and continue to braid it all the way down after that, to keep all the hairs in place. I take some craft glue and slide it down the braid. Then i add some detailing to the pigtails with foam. I coat those in mod podge. Then i paint them silver. I let everything dry and that's pretty much it once it's dry i put on my wig cap and costume. Then i put on this super cool finished wig and there it is. I really hope you guys found this tutorial helpful, especially if you're also trying to tackle making a jinx wig, even if you're not making this wig. I hope you learned some tricks that maybe you can apply to a different way and remember even if something doesn't work out the first time you try. It'S still a success because you learned what not to do the next time and you just keep getting better also, while these methods may work for me, they might not work for everybody, so experiment until you find ways that work best for you. I have a jinx makeup and costume tutorial linked in the description and lots of other cosplay makeup and costume tutorials on my channel, so feel free to go check those out. Thank you. So much for watching guys, bye,

CrownClown Creations: A little tip for working with hot glue - you can also lick your finger before pressing down on the glue. This will prevent it from burning you and from it sticking to your finger.

W Y: SOOO impressive!! It's super helpful to see how you extended the hairline and styled those gravity-defying bangs. I'm surprised the scissors didn't get stuck to the hot glue at 7:03 I also appreciate all the warnings/reminders about tangles when working with a long synthetic wig! As always, your use of affordable and accessible supplies is ingenious (never would've thought of using craft glue to prevent flyaways!!). I know it still takes a ton of skill and patience for you to create your amazing cosplays but your tutorials really lower the barrier-to-entry by educating people that they don't need to invest hundreds of dollars in professional-grade tools and materials.

lumi: I never thought about using glue to keep a braid together and free of stray hairs! Definitely remembering that for future wigs :)
