Hey guys welcome back to my youtube channel, hey! What'S up if you're new, my name is raven and i am the soul witch and today's video i'm going to be tapping into a little bit of hair magic, a little bit of hair whatever um. I am. Switching up the content on my channel i'll still be doing lots of witchy things, but i'm also including beauty and hair and stuff again um, because i feel like it's just something that i love doing and i'm not gon na niche myself down. I'M not gon na put myself in a box, i'm a creative individual and there are no limits to my creativity if i'm making something i'm going to share with you guys, because i simply want to share it with you guys um, but i have been wearing this Wig, i think, since i think i made this way the month before coachella or a couple of weeks before coachella, which i'm pretty sure that was march. So i probably made this wig at the end of february. Um and i hand sewed it, and i also dyed it, but, as you can see it's like on its last leg, i could re-dye it and reuse the hair, but i this is a lot of hair. This is a 20 26 inch wig that i made and making wigs takes a lot of time, and i'm not i'm not really wanting to make a wig right now um, but i do want to have a new look, because i've got some new products from different Companies that want me to try out their products yadda yadda, so i want to do a different hairstyle or a different look. Um really, and i'm probably going to reuse this hair. But this closure is just about had it with me it's on its last leg, but anyway i wanted to hop on here and tell you guys about this amazon wig. Now i've purchased one amazon wig, and this is what it looked like uh. This is how i colored it, how i styled it the quality of amazon. Wigs is not there. Let me tell you if you want to do like a quick fun, look and you're not going to wear it like for a year or you don't want you. Don'T care about the longevity of the wig, an amazon wig is great for you. They don't last long um, i'm somebody that's very hard on my wigs, like i will sleep on them. I i kind of i'm kind of a little party hard wild child, sometimes um nice, and i don't really care about the longevity of certain wigs, but something that i like hand make. I do care about it and i do keep them up to shape, but amazon wigs are not the move, but i thought i would take you along my process, because a lot of people are curious about wigs and like the wig lifestyle. I suppose - and i just wanted to - i guess - give you some details about why it's a bad quality wig and why i still purchase it anyway, like yeah, so i recently purchased a 26 inch frontal human hair wig. I don't really wear synthetic wigs anymore, but i'm probably going to make a synthetic wig video soon on how to cut the lace. But anyway, that's beside the point. I bought a 26 inch frontal human hair wig and mind you. I haven't worn a frontal wig since i made that last wig, mainly because uh before i even get this thing out, mainly because whenever i wear frontal wigs, if i wear them in the summer, i get this crazy, um tan line on my forehead and it sucks To have a tan line on your forehead, especially like, if you wear your natural hair in between wigs and it took forever for that tan line to go away, because it's literally on your forehead um and at first i was like. Maybe it's the glue adhesive, which i feel like the sunburn and the adhesive that i was using at the time. I don't know something happened, my forehead, i'm not inserting a picture because it was super embarrassing, but i saw a picture during that time of dosha cat and she had the exact same thing on her forehead because she's very much like a troll and she'll like post. Her, like quote, unquote, ugly pictures of herself whatever and she's just being real or whatever um, i'm not doing that, but she posted it. I was like okay, i'm not the only one where that has happened, but it's either a gluing issue where the glue is not good for it to be like burning on your head anyway, i stayed away from frontals for that reason because of the tan line, but I'M getting bored of my look, i'm getting tired of this wig and i want to do something new short term. Whatever i'm gon na have fun and i'm gon na do it. So i bought this wig and um you guys. First of all, my hair, that's on my head right now! That'S 26 inches right! You would think this is 26 inches too, but no, no nene, let's get into it! I'M actually going to measure it out. So you guys can see in the wig. You have this. Like back piece here - okay, it's like sewn in like this. If this is a machine made wig, so i have my little handy dandy, measuring tape here and the reason why i'm measuring this is because the wig costs 250 and then i was taxed 25 on it. So it was around 275 dollars for this human hair wig. That'S probably only gon na last me like a month and a half at the most because it's gon na shed and it's not gon na - be usable um. So, let's measure from the nape of the wig to see if this is actually a true to length wig, because amazon they're not good quality, so let's just see what happens so, i'm measuring it from the track all the way to the end. Okay, this is 19 inches. I haven't moved it. I haven't done anything. This is 19 inches. Okay, if you're gon na make a wig and you're gon na say it's 26 inches, the 26 inches needs to go from the back of the the nape of the neck. All the way down to where it says 26 like this is 26.. That is where it should sit like where my wig is sitting. That is where it should sit. My wig is a little old at this point and it has shed, but that is 26 inches. This, however, it may be 26 inches from the top of the head, but that's not we what we want. We want 26 inches all the way around like if i'm gon na buy a 26 inch wig. That is what i'm buying, but because it's an amazon wig, i'm not going to even stress about it. It was literally 200. Something that is quality is going to be way more expensive than that um. I feel like normally buying hair or good quality hair. It'S around 800 dollars to a thousand depending on it where you get it from and the type of hair um, but you can buy it wholesale, but that's a whole nother video another day, another topic, okay, so i want to look at the lace of this wig And um the lace on any frontal wig is very important because you are going to be most of the time adhering the wig to your head um, you could have glueless frontals i've, never hand made one. I think i'm going to do that next. Whenever i change my hair in august um, but that's besides the point a lot of the times with these amazon wigs, they will say that they're hd lace but they're, really not hd lace, they're like transparent lace, which is like a darker type of lace. So i'm gon na put it to the test and i'm gon na put it over my hand to see if it's hd lace now to me this is better than transparent lace. I would not say that it's a good quality of hd lace. I don't know if you can see this um, but most of the time you do not want to be able to see lace on your skin um. I could go grab another wig and show you what transparent lace is, but i'll probably just make another video on that, because being a wig wearer and a maker is kind of intricate, sometimes but anyway, um for the for the quality of this wig, the lace on It i'm going to give it like a s b, minus i'll, give it a b minus it's, not that bad um, but it could be better like it is what it is. I would say that this could pass as an hd lace wig, which is probably why they shorted me on the length, but that's okay, um as long as it's not a transparent frontal, wig, i'm okay with that, because that just means that the lace is gon na. Be like tinted or like a color, that's not going to match on my head. So, overall, i think the wig is okay, but i wanted to mainly make this video to give a review on amazon, human hair, wigs, because i've only bought one - and this is my second time buying one and yeah i'm going to do a color. I'Ve never done before. I said i would never wear this color, but all of a sudden i have the interest to do this. Color um. So i'm going to take you along the process of dyeing this wig red and um. It'S going to be out over the course of a couple days, so i'm going to be looking different um in the next few clips, but hopefully you enjoy coming along with me on this ride and let's get this wig red, okay. So the first thing i'm gon na do is secure the wig to my wig head and if you hear loud sounds it's literally fourth of july and i am recording and editing this so um. If you hear things popping off in the background, it's the fourth of july and people are doing fireworks but anyway um. So i end up pinning every part of this wig down, because i don't want it to move whenever i am dyeing the hair. So that's what i'm doing here so in this next clip, i'm about to show you the three products that helped me achieved. My end result, it is the high color highlights magenta, i used ion medium intensive red blonde and then i also used just a pigment called hot red, so there was a specific red color. I was wanting to achieve and i didn't know what red to use this was my first time doing, red um and i initially bought three different types of red thinking. You know one of these is gon na work, just right off the bat. No, they did not work. Those three reds that i bought um were not the tone that i wanted. So i had to go back to sally's and you'll. See me in this clip doing three different types of reds and they just were too uh bright or they weren't deep enough of a red that i wanted to achieve. So this is me just failing at you know achieving the color that i wanted, but i i eventually got it with the products that i showed you in the previous clip so boom. Okay, after i achieved the red that i wanted, i went ahead and um put over the previously dyed hair. All of those three products that i just mentioned, and i was like. Oh okay, i'm feeling this this bottom layer i knew was going to be darker than the rest of the head, because obviously it had dye already on it, but y'all. Let me tell you, let me tell you, i missed them again because hear me out. It was looking cute, it was looking cute, but then, whenever i washed her, she wasn't that deep of a red, y'all y'all. So what did i do? I went back to the drawing board and really i just put in more of the magenta um. I just changed the amounts that i used to mix it in each one, still the same colors whatever, but i put more of the high color highlights magenta color in there to give it like a more burgundy pinkish feel and it turned out lovely the second time Around all right, so this is the result um. I would say that it came out really good. I'M just the thing is about amazon, wigs. I know that they're throwaway wigs they're not going to last me a long time and i think that's what bothers me about them, but hey they are affordable inexpensive. If you are a wig wear on a regular basis, i mean certain people. 275 might be a little bit out of their budget to spend, but uh. I understand i think. Overall, the quality of this hair is really nice um. I will say that it has had trouble holding a curl granted. I haven't put any hairspray in it because with me adhering a wig to my head, i can't necessarily just go in the shower and wash this hair like. I would a closure wig um like a closure wig, you can just take it off and then boop boop. You can wash it, but this is something that stays on your head for like a couple of days at the least, so i try not to put as much oils in it as possible um. So, regardless i've had hair where it's like. You don't necessarily have to put hairspray in it for the curls to hold hairspray just helps it this. However, the curls do not last all day without hairspray. Maybe if i did put hairspray in it, it would help. But that's besides the point um, i think the hair is really soft. It does shed a lot that's expected of an amazon, wig um, the color. I love it. Let'S talk about the color, i personally was thinking like i don't want to be too red, like i think, rihanna's loud album red was great, but i didn't want to be that loud um. I wanted something that was more of like a cherry, dark red and i had to dye it twice, which is okay, but it eventually came out to what it needed to do. But i'm feeling it i'm feeling very devilish. If you listen to chase atlantic - and you know that song devilish, then you know what i'm talking about, but overall i really did like how it turned out. I did add some layers to it to give it some dimension. First time cutting layers into a wig. I normally just like leave it very hippy but yeah i like it. I like how it turned out if you guys liked watching this process, and you would like me to do anything in depth about how i install it or like stuff like that. I would be more than happy to make more videos on it, but yeah. What do you guys think of the red i've never done red before? Let me know what you think in the comments and thank you guys so much for watching my channel um i'll, see you in the next video bye.
