I think this is another cute option for those in between retwists, I'm actually going to be retwisting, my hair tomorrow or the day after. That'S why I wanted to get this video done. I have to show y'all this because I didn't want to wait until my new retwist got old. I had to get this one out of my glory: hey everybody! It'S charmel welcome and welcome back to lock, Slick's lifestyle welcome back to another video. So if you've seen my previous live tutorial, I showed you guys how I installed a drawstring ponytail over my Locs and how it basically just looks like loose natural hair pulled up in a puff, and I had this bright idea when I was doing that. I was like hmm, I wonder if I could finesse this into a half up half down. So that's what I'm going to be showing you guys today, I'm going to show you guys how I create a half up, half down style using that same drawstring, ponytail that I used in my last video as well as a headband wig. So, let's get to it! So I already kind of roughly tested this out and I will say y'all: this is going to be for the big hair lovers. I think this one is more so gon na be like a special occasions, hairstyle or like a photo shoot type of hairstyle um, but it definitely at least for me, it's gon na be a lot of hair. So it's not an everyday hairstyle for me for this tutorial, I'm going to be using a synthetic drawstring ponytail purchase this at my local Beauty Supply for like twenty dollars and then for the back portion of my half of half down. I'M going to be using this curly hair band wig from Supernova hair. This is human hair. It'S a lot softer. I'Ve had this for a couple years now, so for this style, I'm really just using what I have on hand in my hair collection. But if you are looking to do something similar and you don't want to go out and like purchase a whole wig and then purchase a separate ponytail, there are some hair companies and brands that sell like half of half down kids, where it's basically like a half Wig and then like another ponytail, so if you are interested in doing this style, I would recommend just investing in one of those just to have one back. In the day I had a video on it um. I can't think of the brand and everything off the top of my head, but I will link a video to one that I tried when I had loose hair so off camera. I did go ahead and just kind of um prep, my hairline and my edges and everything so now. What I'm gon na do is basically just put my hair into two ponytails, so I'm gon na start by just splitting my hair from like ear to ear and I'm kind of pushing this one off my face a little bit so that when I put the ponytail On it, kind of Falls backward and not super on top and like all in my face first ponytail and then for the back half of my head. I'M just going to put that in the like a little low, messy bun, the back part does not have to be perfect foreign for my ponytail at the top. I'M just gon na put this into like a bun, so just split my hair into two and I don't have to be perfect all right, so I'm gon na start with the headband wig first, and so the headband wig just has like three clips at the top. Basically, I'm gon na use this and attach it to the back portion of my head and I'm just using those Combs to cure it and then for like the actual headband part, I'm just gon na like fold it and tuck it and then just I'm just kind Of tie it because it's really for your whole head, so it has a lot of extra slack, so yeah, I'm just gon na tuck, my natural ponytail and then that band all under the wig and so as y'all can see. The wig has a lot of space since it's for your whole head and we only putting it in the back. So what I'm gon na do? I'M gon na take these little uh clips that I usually use to retwist my hair. You can use bobby pins or whatever I'm just using these, because it's so much hair that it's gon na hide it and it's a little easier to find and locate, and I'm just using this to secure it down. You can put one in the back if you want to, but I feel like it's unnecessary and then you can just kind of fluff this part out to make sure that it's hiding the band. This is one of the reasons I love working with textured and curly hair, especially when it comes to my Locs is because you don't have to do a lot of manipulation and work to hide everything, and now we're just going to attach the drawstring ponytail onto this Top piece - and now we just play with it - I'm gon na just and our piece of this and just wrap it around the face and just fluff it and play with it to make sure that you know the two textures are blending. The synthetic ponytail is a little curlier um, then the half wig and so yeah you just kind of have to play with it. I'Ve got to tell y'all before, but to do my edges and stuff, I just used a little Eco gel and my style Factor Edge. Booster and that's how I flicked this down, I did the same thing I pretty much did in the ponytail, video and yeah I put on some earrings, and this is how it turned out. Let me turn around and give you guys a full 360.. This will look really cute with a scrunchie or if you went to like the little gold things I can't find it. You know it enrolled underneath my ottoman but y'all gets the point um. You could definitely accessorize this up. If you want to but yeah. I think I think another cute option option those in between retwists I'm actually going to be retwisting, my hair tomorrow or the day after. That'S why I wanted to get this video done. I have to show y'all this because I didn't want to wait until my new retwist got old. I had to get this one out, but yes, I think it looks super cute. Also, if you want less hair, you can also get like some spring twist hair or some Marley hair and instead of doing a ponytail like wrap it around the top piece for like just a bun, you can get creative. The only downside I would say to this hairstyle is that it is on the heavier side like again it's a lot of hair, so you can definitely fill it and it's secure, but it's still heavy and then also the Clips in the headband wig um. If this is not a style that I would recommend doing all the time or back to back to back or wearing for long periods of time, like definitely remove it at the end of the day, but other than that, I think it's cute super quick to do. Took less than 10 minutes and yeah it's cute, but yes you guys that is going to be it for this video. Thank you so much for tuning in, if you haven't done so already make sure to hit that subscribe button and, like I said I am going to be retwisting my Locs within these next couple of days. So don't worry. I know these last two videos were more like non-traditional, lock tutorials, so I am going to be filming like a full wash day, routine um, as well as a style with my Locs, so stay on the lookout for that, because that will be posted really soon. But yes, that's going to be it for this video. Thank you all so much for watching. Don'T forget to like share comment and subscribe. Follow me on all of my social media platforms. Everything think is in my end card as well as linked down in the description box, and I will see you all in my next video bye.
