Courtney'S Mardi Gras Hair.

Oh, my god, hi welcome to my channel wow, so it is mardi gras. Have you mardi, gras, y'all, wow, so um? I wasn't going to do a video this week because i've been really busy and really stressed, and i just didn't have it in me. I wish i had it in me to film what i've been doing. I'Ve been really busy, but it's just been one of those experiences. You know what i mean so, rather than doing nothing well, actually, a a wise old friend, a very, very old old old friend. It was courtney, she's, 40, now she's old. She once said to me that, just because you can't do everything doesn't mean you should do nothing. So this is me not doing nothing. Okay, so i thought i would still pop on do a little video and um and show you what i've been working on, because this won't come out until sunday and it will have been worn by then with by courtney uh. So it's okay to show it. So i've been working on courtney's hair for the last seven days. Actually i started last thursday and today's friday, so it's been seven working days hasn't been eight hours a day, but it has been a lot. It'S been quite stressful, i'm not gon na lie. It'S been quite traumatic because i'm on the ski chair, sorry about it, she wanted something really creative. She sent me the design marco designed an outfit um which is fabulous. I guess i'll put the design here and uh. They gave me some references of what they were thinking for the hair, but i really struggle to put it all together, i like to be very cohesive when it comes to a look, especially for courtney. I take pride in knowing what she's wearing and then creating having the hair, be the cherry on top and finishing off a look. I mean. Sometimes it's just a basic. You know hair style, but it you know - and sometimes i don't always have time to do something new for her. But when we do something new and something special that i like it to be cohesive - and i really struggled to find the cohesion in this look - and it wasn't until wednesday so two days ago, that they finally clicked with me of who it was because i was Like i don't know who she is, i don't know who i don't. I don't know who she's in everything that i was doing. I was second guessing myself and so anyway, i finally figured out finally on wednesday that she is a dr. A gay drag queen tight rope, walker who travels the world with cirque du soleil, and once i got that in my head it was fine, it all flowed and it all worked okay. So this is what i've been working on, which has been very. Oh sorry. Maybe change! Let me change my chair thanks nikita okay, i'm gon na do a massive frame yeah. So this is what we're working on. Okay, it's pretty full on it's pretty epic! It'S pretty beautiful! She is gorgeous okay, so i did some hair for courtney a little while ago, um for something that hasn't been released yet so we can't discuss it, but i use this technique of using felted hair, which i make myself. I can actually show you what it is. Here'S a piece that i uh discarded because i didn't need it, but basically it's just hair. It'S all hair everything on here is hair, except for the crystals. Of course. It'S hair that has been like california, braid or jumbo braid that has been uh, shredded, cut up and and sort of you know fluffed out, and then it's been mixed together, flattened sprayed and ironed to make fabric, basically, which called felted hair. And you know you can bend it and mold it and twist it and you know and hot glue it all together and do all these wonderful things with it. So you should love the hair that i did before before which i can't talk about just yet but um, but should we want to do something similar, so i've used that technique again and this time i've used rainbow and i've crystalled it we've added this wonderful ombre. Uh, california, braid or jumbo braid, that would just make 613 jumbo bread in with so cause. You know she's blonde, so it always has to have a bit of a blonde element, so it works. We put it on her just what we call her ballet bun and it's just a wig that is uh. Can i show you that it's basically, as we pulled up into a into a bun that we use as a base and they put lots of things on it, it's a really good way of keeping things interesting and um changing her looks and having multiple sort of Hairstyles, but with one base, okay, let me let me get a bit closer okay, so we've got. I have put some chalk rainbow streaks in the base just to help marry it together. This base actually does need a little bit of work. We should send it to caroline to get um some hair put into the back, because she has worn this a lot. Um yeah, i'm hoping that these don't stain, but if they do then that's fine. We can just deal with that later at a later date. Um done a lovely job, crystalling and demanding everything, because your outfit's completely demanded marco sent me the moddies actually, so we use the same as her outfit um and yeah. It'S um, really pretty. We use little ties just hot glued everything. This is all hot glued together. It'S like a basically a headdress and i really wanted. I think that this spray here is going to be a problem because it might rain and well probably will rain, and that would be the thing to go, but i really wanted to keep some kind of element of real hair just so it didn't look like a Hat it already looks like a hat, and i wanted to just have that little bit on top just so people know it's hair, it's hair, so anyway i am yeah. I don't know what to say. You got eyes, you can see it. So i'm putting this on her uh tomorrow, which is saturday, and then this video will be released on sunday. So i'm not gon na have time to take photos of her or to have photos of her in this video, obviously uh, because it's gon na be edited and all uploaded and all ready to go because i'll be out as well since mardi, gras and um. And but you can go on to her instagram, i'm sure she'll have lots of photos on her instagram and i might have some of mine i'll. Tell you what i'm glad it's done. I'M really glad it was a labor of love, um, literally a labor of love and um, and it's always a pleasure to do hair for courtney and, to be honest, she's the only one that i'll do hair for like this now like i just i just can't Do it so in the last couple of years i noticed that i wasn't enjoying styling wigs anymore. I mean i've been doing hairdressing this year for 28 years. It'S been a long, bloody time, so, every time i style a wig, i oh, i can't see cross-legged anymore because of my back. I went to the osteo and he said not to see cross-legged anymore, i'm like i'm gay. How am i not going to see cross-legged anyway? It'S like a man, i can't see anyway, thank god. I realized that every week that i was doing, i was giving a little piece of my soul for that wig that little piece of art - and i got to a point where i just didn't - have that piece of sole to give away anymore. Like i just couldn't. Do it i have found this particularly draining, but i'm glad it's done. It'S finished she's going to look beautiful, i'm really proud of it. I think it's absolutely magical. It reminds so whimsical and like it's got that circus vibe, but it's like also got like a little fairy tale vibe as well, like it's just really really pretty i'm looking forward to seeing you in it anyway.
