Hey guys, it's aislin and in today's video we're going to be trying a color remover that I've had for a while. This one is very intriguing to me, so this is by Scruples and it's called Urban shock direct dye remover. So it's specifically for direct dyes and the impressive thing, and what intrigues me is that there's no developer involved in using this color remover. So when I hear no developer, my mind goes straight towards something similar to like Malibu CPR vitamin treatment, something along those lines or it could just be like a bleach and you just mix it with water, because that also works well at removing direct dyes. I'M not sure I haven't opened it and smelled it once I smell it, I'll kind of know, if it's more of like a chemical thing or if it's more of a natural vitamin thing, so let's go ahead and open it up. So it comes in this cute tub and then there's just a packet inside full of the color remover. So it's just some type of powder here are the instructions. It comes with this scoop and it comes with a little zip tie. So let's go over the instructions. First, because I want to know exactly how you're supposed to use this, it says it removes unwanted direct dye and hair color quickly and evenly without damage no developer required. So that is exciting. I'M now thinking it's probably more towards Malibu CPR or like Sephora's hair color. Remover, that's natural, no damage, so that would be nice to have on hand, because this is the type of color remover I like to use on myself. So hopefully that's what it is. It says it's easy to use formula only removes artificial pigment and will not lighten natural color. It says it is fortified with avocado oil and Scruples protective barrier complex, which is similar to olaplex, to help protect against breakage and keep hair healthy. It is gluten and fragrance free, so that's also a good thing for a lot of people. I know fragrance can be like you either love it or you hate it type of thing. So I would say it's probably a good thing. In this instance, the mixing ratio is one to one for this and you're supposed to use cold tap water with this, which is interesting, normally Malibu and stuff, they recommend warmer water so that way, they're like crystals melt into the water nicely. It says in a non-metallic bowl mix, equal parts, Urban shock, direct dye, remover and cold tap water mix thoroughly until powder is dissolved, applied to hair treated with direct dye and cover with processing cap do not process with heat, so you're not supposed to process with heat Which is also a contradiction of like using Malibu sea so now I'm like, I don't know what this could be, we're going to try it we're gon na find out what it is exactly you process up to 30 minutes or until desired. Removal is achieved. You'Re supposed to check it frequently, then it says use caution with extremely damaged hair, but it said it wouldn't damage the hair further. So I don't know I'm kind of all over the place reading this, and it says this will only lift direct eye. It will not lift permanent or demi-permanent hair color, so there is that all right, let's go ahead and open up this package and see what it smells like. I'M just gon na dump this bag into this bowl, because I feel like that's what it's used for it. Doesn'T smell, like anything, vitamin C kind of has like a vinegary smell like Malibu, CPR and stuff kind of smells like vinegar, and this does not have that smell at all, but it also doesn't smell like bleach or anything or ammonia. Nothing like that. It really does smell like nothing. Obviously, we're not going to be using this on my hair, but I do have these clip-on bangs and I would like to remove the color out of them just so that way I can wear them more often or I can re-dye them a different color. You know I just want more options, so we're going to try and remove this today. Obviously, we have the full rainbow Spectrum here, so we'll be able to see what colors it works. Well, on what colors it has a harder time, removing I'm actually going to use a bottle because it's water that goes with this, I feel like, maybe using a bottle, would be easier than using a bowl and brush. I'M gon na go grab some cold tap water. Put in here shake up and I will be right back so we can start applying this onto the hair. So as soon as I added the water in here, I gave it a little sniff and now it does smell like ammonia and it smells like bleach. So there's our answer: it definitely is not some sort of vitamin C Malibu treatment. I'M surprised, I said it wouldn't lift the natural regrowth. I'M curious to know what this would do, if you put it on natural regrowth because it kind of seems like it would. But let's go ahead and put this on the hair all right! So here are the two swatches I'm just going to take this mixture and apply it all over both of these little clip and bang pieces. I'M just going to pour it on here. The nozzle for this was getting clogged and I think I'm probably gon na have to mix up some more. Let'S go ahead and spread this around and see I'm struggling to do this one-handed right now. I'M sure you guys can tell you have any type of damage on your hair. Let me just flip this over here, make sure to really work. The product in there definitely use a bowl and a brush using a bottle was not the best idea, because it is a lot thicker than I thought it would be. Mixing it at a one to one ratio makes it a lot thicker than mixing it at. Like a one to two ratio, I'm gon na mix up a little bit more just to completely saturate these little end pieces and to make sure everything is really coated. All right, I have everything applied really well, it's completely saturated I'm gon na let this process the full 30 minutes. It did say to cover it, so I am going to cover it with some foil. Let it process for the full 30 minutes wash it come back and let you guys know how well this works at removing color does smell very strongly like ammonia kind of takes your breath away, even though it's fragrance free, it still has like the smell of like A bleach or ammonia also real quick. I just want to say everybody was so concerned when I was doing swatches on this white carpet. What you guys, I guess didn't know, is this car carpet. I bought specifically to put underneath my filming area because I fling color everywhere and I drop color on the ground and I've accidentally stained the floors and the walls and stuff with color before so. I wanted something underneath me to protect the floor, so this carpet is actually here to protect the floor from getting Stained. It'S not like a super nice carpet that I bought for Decor reasons. However, I have shampooed it a couple times and all the color comes out of it amazingly, so it looks really clean right now because I just shampooed it last week, but before that it was completely covered with like all different colors of hair dye. So yeah don't worry about the carpet. It'S okay! It'S used to having stains all over it and it's here to protect the floor. Um yeah! It'S meant to get color on it, so yeah. I just wanted to tell you guys that it's not for Decor. It'S literally for like work to make sure I keep the house nice and clean I'm gon na let this process I will be back in just a second to show. You guys have finished results all right. I am back, and this is probably the oddest result from a color remover. I'Ve ever tried. So here are the results. It kind of turned everything like a 70s color scheme like we had pink orange and yellow on this side and the yellow wasn't originally this golden, and the orange also did not have this golden undertone and the pink is now Peach. So it's like Peach over here with like serious Golden Tones. Bizarre I've never seen that happen with a color remover before, but that's what this looks like and then this side also looks like that. We had green, blue and purple over here, and the green also turned a golden yellow and the blue removed pretty good, but it also has some yellow in there and then the purple also turned Peach. It'S a very bizarre result. We have here it's not a bad result, necessarily because it did remove a lot of the color, but just what it removed the color to is a little odd and I've never seen something like this before. So here are the bangs. We had purple blue, green, yellow, orange, pink and now this is what it looks like, so it definitely removed the color. But just the end result is a little odd that it's all like Peach and golden like a lot of like brassy goldenness happening here. When that wasn't there before, but it did lift a lot of the color out, I mean this was very, very neon. It had never been washed or faded previously, so it did a really decent job at fading. The color and the hair feels really nice, like I expected it to feel a little bit gummy because of how strong the ammonia smell was. But honestly, it feels the exact same as it did before still has a bunch of shine to it. It'S not gummy. There'S no breakage like it still feels really really good and healthy, so the color remover definitely works. I think it would work a lot better on faded hair, like if you did this on hair, that had already been washed a bunch and you were trying to fade it. I think you'd have a lot more success could just be that the color I used was so insanely pigmented and it might have had a chemical reaction and turned things golden. I don't know, but it seemed to work pretty well. I do have a bunch left, so I will keep it on hand. In case I have something else. I want to fade in the future or possibly use it all myself. The hair still feels good, but it does worry me a little bit just that strong ammonia smell and if I do use it on myself, I probably won't use it on myself for a while, because we all know my hair needs a little bit of a break Overall, it worked pretty well, I will try and find a link for that and put it in the description Down Below in case. You guys want to try it if you have tried this color remover before, please. Let me know how well it worked for you. What color you used it on? Obviously, everybody has different experiences depending on what color line they're trying to remove what shade they're trying to remove and how like strong and fresh the pigment is. So please leave your experience in the comment section down below. If you have tried this color remover before that is all for today's video, I hope you guys enjoyed it. Don'T forget to check out my Instagram. The link to that is in the description down below I post way more of my everyday life on there give the video a thumbs up. If you enjoyed it, I love you guys so much and until next time guys stay weird bye.

Whitney Girl: This color remover reminds me of Punky Color Color-off. I used it on myself when I had blue hair, and it turned my hair a burnt orange color, with some streaks of olive green. Super weird!!

αndrσmєdα: it's weird that you can't use this on damaged hair but for direct dyes you have to have damaged aka bleached hair LOL

Sjade: I never comment on people’s videos but I just want to send you some love and say I have been watching your videos for years and I’m not even sure how I came across your videos but honestly so happy that I did! I feel a lot of people watch “YouTubers”/influencers and forget that they are actual people who have actual lives and it saddens me to be honest. But I would just like to tell you that you are honestly such a beautiful person inside and out and don’t allow anyone to dim your shine!

Jessica Woods: A little late but I love how the toners you applied to your hair came out. Absolutely gorgeous
