Top Knot Bun Tutorial | Ponytail For Short Natural Hair | Shellybombshell

Hey guys, it's a girl shell here and welcome back to my channel welcome back to another video you guys today, i'm going to be giving you guys this super sleek, bun right here that i got you guys, love my hair tutorial. So when i'm on the go, when i want to do something real quick, when my wigs tend to start to look messy if i'm wearing wigs or i'm wearing braids and my braids just look old and i need to get rid of them. And i need a quick do. This is the hairstyle that i wear the most the absolute most now i do change up the bun. Sometimes sometimes i have a long ponytail. Sometimes i have this short ponytail. Sometimes i do. My natural curly, like big puff ponytail, depend on my mood, so this is what she got going on today. If you guys want to see how i created this sleek cute easy, i was going to say makeup. If you guys want to see how i created this sleek bun just stay tuned, keep on watching. Let me show you guys real quick. What i use for my hair, so obviously what i have wrapped up here, one of the bundles from the kanekalon hair that you can get from the beauty supply store the hair that i use for like box, braids and stuff like that. Just grab one of those packs from hair from the beauty supply store, they're like five dollars or 9.99. If you want to get like the big jumbo pack that has like six bundles in it just grab one of those. I only use one for this one star of the show that i used for my hair is this kiss edge fixer glue maximum hold in this um, scent sweet, lychee or flavor sweetly? This is what it looks like, but this is from kiss. I absolutely love this product. It is 9.99 right from the beauty supply store, not every beauty supply store, though i've noticed have this. So if i can find a link for it, online i'll definitely link it in this video for you guys and obviously you need your combs, your brushes and all that stuff. So first thing i'm going to do is detangle my hair with this comb. So let's go ahead and do that and when you're detangling your hair to make it easier, you want to detangle your hair in the direction where you want the ponytail to sit. So that's why i'm detangling my hair upwards, it's just easier for me to groom my hair, especially when you have short hair like mine, but my hair is pretty much detangled. So the next thing that i'm going to do after my hair is detangle. I'M going to use my trusty hands and i'm just going to groom my hair to right where i want the ponytail to sit. This is probably going to be a little bit harder if your hair is shorter than mine or if you have a lot of hair. Like your hair is super super super thick, it's probably gon na be a little bit harder, but trust me this is the easiest way that i find to just groom my hair right where i want it to be, and then once i hold it together, if you're, Especially if your hair is short, it's easy if you just pull the middle, because sometimes your hair can tend to clump up in the center, and you don't want that to be underneath the bun, because then it's just not going to look as sweet as you want. It to be so, i like to just groom all of my hair together and then i'll just use my hand to just pull the center of the hair because sometimes like i said it tends to clump up right in that area after you feel like the hair. Is groomed enough? In the palm of your hand, you can go ahead and use your brush just to brush the hair in place brush it all around, so that you get the strands to lay sleek and straight and there's none of them. That'S like tip to the side or crooked, or just not lay how you want it to lay so i'll, just go ahead and brush it, and if you find that it's hard for you to brush it holding it, you can let it go and just brush it Into place, that's easier for me to do as well, and i think the only reason why i get away with that is because of the hair texture that i have. My hair looks really really thick, but my hair is more on the thinner side. So after i brush it i'll just go ahead and hold it back again in the palm of my hands and then the middle is like really clumped up. So i'm gon na pull it out like this. Then i'm gon na take my scrunchie and i'm gon na hold my hair in one once you have the hair. If you don't feel like it's tight enough, you could go ahead and pull it tighter, but mines is pretty darn. Tight like when i say mine is tight. Mines is tight, you guys so, with the end of the hair, you can twist it and wrap it down. In a bun and then wrap the hair over it or you can put the hair in it and let the hair in it, which that's what i'm going to do. So i'm going to show you how i do that in just a moment. But right after i put my hair up, what i like to do is sleek it down. I just find that it sleeks down really really nice when i sleep it down right away versus adding the hair to my hair first to create the bun and then sticking it down. I'M going to take my um tail comb and i'm going to take my edge control and i usually take it like this on a comb. You can take it in your hand as well. Sometimes i'll do that, but i'm going to use a comb today, because this is how i get it to look super sleek when i use the comb just to help me to groom it in place. So that's what i'm gon na do for the next step. What i like to do you guys can see that the product is all over. My hair, i like to use my hands and just press my hair down like this. This just help it to get more sleek and it just looks really really nice like this. I had washed my hair before i um before i start filming this video. I just rinsed out the old crack that was in it because i wanted to redo my ponytail. So if you still have a lot of water in your hair, you want to make sure that you get out as much as the water as possible. You want your hair to be damp, but you don't want your hair to be wet and the amount of product that you add to your hair is based on your liking. I want this side to be a little bit more sleek. I don't know if you guys can see like how curly it looks on this side. I can tell if my hair doesn't have enough product because it doesn't feel as sleek as i know it can get. So i'm just going to add a little bit more product to that side, just to get it a little bit more sleek. So this is what the back looks like nice and sleek. Hopefully, you guys can see that this is what the back looks like nice and sleek, and you just want to take your fingers as well and just press down on your hair just to make it look extra super neat. I add a scrunchie on it, just because it's easier for me to put it on my hair like this, so don't worry about the fact that the base is not as neat as you would like it to be. I'M gon na show you guys how to fix that just a moment, so i'm gon na take it and put it over my hair like so you can wrap it like two or three times. I'M just gon na wrap it two times, because i don't want to make it too tight. Then it's gon na give me a headache and i'm gon na take the hair like this. I'M going to take my hair like this and i'm going to comb it into my hair, i'm going to comb my hair into the braid and then hold it together like that. Hopefully you guys can see that and you're just gon na wrap it around now. If your hair is natural and super kinky, you could take a little bit of that hair product and just use it to hold your hair in because my my the ends of my hair is super super thick. So i do struggle with that issue, but you can just use a little bit of the edge control just to groom your hair with the braid and just keep on turning keep on twisting and turning twist and turn twist and turn. Oh, my god, you see that see how my hair is coming out already twist and turn i'm just gon na start by turning it like this, because my hair is coming out twist and turn and turn it. So once you get the first loop and then you're gon na come around and what i'm gon na do with the second one. Is i'm gon na bring my this one up and put this one underneath then i'm gon na keep going around and when i get the third one, i'm gon na do the same thing. So i'm gon na take the third one and i'm gon na put it right underneath the bottom. So it's gon na look like that and then what's next is just the ends, so i'm gon na take it and i'm gon na put it underneath. If you don't like how it looks, i highly recommend you taking it down and re-wrapping it again, just keep wrapping it until you get it, how you want it, but right now i am satisfied with how it looks and, like i said, the base right here sometimes Is not the neatest, so what you can do is just take. The tail of the comb add some product to the tail of the comb like this from the edge control, and then you could just use the tail to groom anything. That'S not grown at the base and you could do that all around so now, i'm not right here of the bun is like sticking up which i'm not too fond of, but i don't know it looks good. It'S just right here of the bun looks kind of weird, so i'm just gon na i'm gon na press it down see if i can fix it like that, all right, you guys so last but not least, are the baby hairs. Now not everyone is into baby hairs, not everyone likes baby hairs, and if baby hairs is not your thing, you really don't have to wear them. You can just leave your hair groomed just like this and go watch your business, but as for me and my house, we are going to praise the lord with some baby hairs. Okay - so i just like to put it on my edges, like this, like to add it with the comb right where i want it to be so here, and i know the places where i want to add my little swoops so i'll just use the edge control. Just to put it in those areas, you can just use the tail of the comb just to pick out the hairs where you want it to be so i know i want three three little swoops and one side and then three little swoops on the other side. So i'm going to take them out with the tail of the comb, and then i just use the teeth of the cone just to swoop it like that. Okay, just just flip it like so just like that and voila. That'S pretty much all i do for my hair. Okay, that's all i do for my hair nice, quick, easy one.
