#HowToMakeHairConditioner #DIYConditioner #DIYLeaveInConditioner

I'M going to show you how to make this rich creamy rinse out conditioner, as well as a lighter detangling, leave-in conditioner hi, guys welcome to whole elise, i'm elise, and today we're tackling conditioners. Both these conditioners need to be fast, acting super spreadable, as well as leaving your hair feeling soft, shiny and cold popping, and they need to do all of that within a couple of minutes. So yeah we've definitely got our work cut out for us, but as always, i've got you covered with these great conditioner recipes. First up is how to make a great rinse out everyday conditioner. Let'S start by measuring out the water-based ingredients for the base, i'm using distilled water with a little peppermint hydrosol, you can just use plain water or for added botanical benefits, any diluted, hydrosol or aloe vera juice. It'S completely up to you all of the ingredients, including percentage amounts and more information on these conditioner recipes can be found at wholerelease.com click, the i icon above or the links in the description below next i'm using centromonium chloride. This is a potent hair conditioning surfactant that helps give our conditioner the slip and detangling abilities that make it so great for our hair, it's kind of like beating, s's, slimmer cousin. It has the same conditioning elements, but it's a lot lighter on your hair. You can skip this ingredient, but i highly recommend it especially for afro hair now back to the familiar, we'll need, guar gum, guar gum isn't just a thickener. It also has anti-static conditioning elements that really help to make a conditioner that spreads easily throughout your hair. Are you sensing a theme here measure out the glittering or honey for those who are sensitive to glycerin? This is a vital hermitant that draws water into your hair, pumping it full of hydration, prepare your water phase by first mixing the guagam and glycerin together this disperses, the gum making it easier to add to the water to your water base, pour in the centromonium chloride And guagon mixture whisk until everything is combined and set aside. I'Ve tried to formulate this conditioner so that it works really well for detangling, because that's when your hair is most vulnerable and likely to sustain damage, conditioners need to feel like conditioners and a huge part of that is a slip factor. So the guagan betams centromonium chloride, fatty alcohols they're all there to help the conditioners glide for your hair and that's the secret as to why they're so effective at detangling, and also making sure that your hair is soft, shiny and moisturized for all phase ingredients start by Measuring out your oil, i'm using cold pressed unrefined, coconut oil, but this is completely customizable, so use whatever oil works best for your hair. Now the next two ingredients really make a difference. You guys know how much i love btms for hair products. It works as both an emulsifier to blend our water and all ingredients together, but also as a conditioning agent that adds slip body and smooths the cuticle layer of your hair. Now you can use any regular emulsifier, but your conditioner won't be as effective. If you don't use this, we'll also need a stabilizer, i'm using subtle alcohol, but any fatty alcohol will work like with the btms. This has dual functions: working both as a stabilizer to keep our conditioner ingredients together, but also as a fill enhancer, adding both slip and body to the formula in another heatproof bowl pour in the btms, settle alcohol and coconut oil. At this stage, both your water and oil phases are prepped, so we can move on to melting over a low gentle heat melt. The two phases until no solids remain keep a close eye out in case the containers try to run from you once melted. Pour the oil phase into your water phase whisk in thoroughly and then transfer to a flat surface at this point, i'd usually switch to an immersion blender. When i was making such a small amount, i was actually able to emulsify this conditioner just using a hand whisk. You can, of course, still use an immersion blender if you want what you're looking for is a uniform off-white liquid that thickens evenly as it cools by the time. It'S cool enough to add in your other ingredients. It should have this thicker creamy. Consistency. Rinse out conditioners, are great to pump full of active and potent ingredients, especially hermetins they're fast acting. But you don't need to worry about the sticky or hardening quality that you can get with proteins and hermetins because they get washed off as soon as you rinse out the conditioner, like with my shampoo recipes, i'm adding in panthenol or vitamin b5. This is an anti-static conditioning agent that works really well in hair products alongside this, i'm also adding in hydrolyzed wheat protein and that works to strengthen and repair your hair. Both of these ingredients are optional, but are great additions to any hair products. However, these are heat. Sensitive ingredients, so they need to be added to the rinse out. Conditioner at this stage continue to whisk your conditioner until everything is mixed in next up. Preserving i'm using a natural broad spectrum preservative in this case preservative eco, but you can use any alternative. That'S available to you, because this recipe contains all you'll also need to use an antioxidant, i'm using vitamin e mix. Everything until it's incorporated take your time with this step, because you do need to make sure that your preservatives are thoroughly mixed in in order for them to be effective. It'S always a good idea to check the ph and adjust, so that's at an optimal range for your hair, i'm using citric acid as a ph adjuster. It'S pretty common for hair products to be on the alkaline side, depending on your ingredients, so using a small amount of something that's highly acidic, like citric acid will bring the ph of our conditioner to a range. That'S close to your hair's, ph click. The link, above for more information on how to ph balance your products at this point, your conditioner should have this thick glossy consistency. All the conditioning elements combine together to make this fast, acting intensive conditioning treatment that you can use to restore vital hair nutrients, but also detangle, and improve the look and feel of your hair. This is an everyday conditioner great to use when you're not up for deep conditioning. Now, i'm a deep conditioner type of girl, but let's face it, we don't always have that extra time or energy to spend an additional hour with conditioner on our hair. So having an amazing rinse out conditioner for that instant moisture boost is absolutely essential. Leave-In conditioners are all about being light, moisturizing and easy to detangle. With often times you pair leave-in conditioners, with other styling products like moisturizers gels and heat protectants. So it's vital that you keep the oil elements to a minimum, so it still works well with other products for our leave-in conditioner. We can still get all the benefits of traditional rinse out conditioners, like before measure out your water base and keep into the same combination of water and herbal hydrosol. We'Re also using a smaller amount of centromonium chloride and glycerin, as this is a levon product. But the same amount of conditioning guagan again, you can find the full conditioner recipes along with a formula calculator to help with scaling at whole elise.com and while you're there, you can check out even more diy products that you can make at home. After mixing your gua gum and glittering together prepare the water phase by pouring in the centromonium chloride and guagum into your water base. Whisking everything until it's combined for the old phase you'll need a smaller amount of your chosen oil, along with the btms as your emulsifier and settle alcohol. As your stabilizer combine, the btms settle alcohol and coconut oil into another heatproof container, and once both phases are ready, melt, your oil and water fades over a low gentle heat again mix everything together before transferring it off the heat and onto a flat surface after whisking. Until it's fully emulsified, it has a lighter consistency when compared to the rinse out conditioner. This will continue to thicken up, but at this stage it's important that everything is mixed together and there are no lumps or separation between the water and all ingredients. As this is a leave-in conditioner, i'm skipping adding in protein, but i will still be using the panthenol or vitamin b5 as an active conditioning agent. If you have dry, fine or high porosity hair, you can still add in the protein. If you wish next up we'll need to add both our preservative as well as our antioxidant, these ensure that both conditioners will last for at least three months and can be stored at room temperature. I'M also adding a sprinkle of citric acid to keep the ph between four and five i like to use either a squeeze or pump container for easy access. But it's up to you, you can even use a tub. I'M not here to judge this leave-in conditioner gives that final burst of hydration right at the end of your wash routine, and this ensures that your hair stays moisturized and defined for as long as possible. If you combine these leave-in conditioners with either the clarifying or moisturizing shampoo in my last tutorial, then you'll have the ultimate wash day routine check out hololease.com for the full recipes and subscribe for even more natural hair and skincare tutorials

SheRea DelSol: Love how hard you work on your videos. You’re a gem ❤️ I like how you showed they’re basically the same thing with just a slight change in ingredients. That’s so important!

deedeegiggles: I made the leave-in yesterday and tested it on a section of hair. My hair wasn't freshly washed either. I was so impressed immediately after I put on. It reminds me of the effect Carefree Gold instant activator had on my hair when I used it a long time ago. Your leave in kept my hair moist to the next day and my pen curls were frozen in place. I love this! I'm about to forget everything else and just use this only.

Antisocialist: I made the conditioner, I didn’t have centrimonium chloride so I just used honey instead and it came out great, I will be making the leave in tomorrow, thank you Elise

CeeLitty: I absolutely love this channel, thank you for showing us we can make good quality hair products at home that works just as well (if not better) than store bought

And I'm very proud of myself for that, it's definitely a learning experience of trials and errors but it's so totally worth it bc I now know what ingredients are in my products.

Sarah B: I'm so happy you're British. This means that I can get hold of the products lol

Crown of Sunshine: Hi Elise! I have a question regarding the Vitamin B5. Can I replace it with Vitamin E in the rinse out conditioner? If I do, will it affect the antistatic characteristic of the conditioner?

Ghetto Girl: hey elise thanks for this great recipe. Charmaine Hurst: I was waiting for this video of leave in and rinse out hair conditioner this certainly will be used with your clarifying shampoo! Thank you for sharing! You are my learning channel of how too make cosmetics! I am also happy to buy ingredients from Naturally thinking. It is expensive to ship to the USA but it is worth because other cosmetic places on line do not have certain items, such as Olus Oil. I purchased that and made the hair grease and it turn out great! I really like it! I will make the shampoo and the rinse out conditioner.! I'm all for homemade shampoos and conditioners ,body butters, lotions, etc.! No more store bought conventional shampoos with too many chemicals that are no good. I learn how to make liquid citric acid by measuring 50 grams of the crystal form of citric acid with 50 grams of distilled water and store it in and making sure it all dissolved. Then pour in a amber bottle with a dropper and then you use easily of what a recipe needed for in grams.

Ophelia Wilson: Could I use cationic guar gum instead?

Charmaine Hurst: I will use as a alternative substutute because I have chemical sensitivity: Stearamidopropyl dimethylamine Benefits: - Cationic surfactant that conditions the hair due to its cationic nature (leaves a positive charge on hair)

Decca: Can BTMS-50 substitute FOR BTMS-25 ? Nice video btw

Eduarda Barros da Silva: You are a-m-a-z-i-n-g!!!! Thank you!!

Brittney Randolph: Eliseeeeeeeeeee. We love you queen. And c we need a hair tutorial your hair is more and more beautiful each video you look stunning

Helene Njenga: Thank you as always amazing

Theresab: Hi, I love seeing your videos, but is it possible to make something that I won't have to buy so many expensive products that I may not use again? I can't do all these steps

Sheridonna Fiona Wilson: Love it ! Thank you ❤️❤️❤️✅✨ inspired

Lisa Mendez: Thank you for all the info! And I must say, you have a lovely voice! And of course a beautiful face and hair! I live in Vegas, not sure I can find all these ingredients, never heard of a few of them. Have a beautiful day, God bless, be safe. ❤

Esther Agbonselobho: I have been waiting for this! Thank you.

Aphridite Lockhart: Since my hair started to thin out a few years ago I have been looking for a more natural way to take care of it, in the hopes it will slow the thinning down. I have tried everything from the No-poo(junk) to expensive shampoos and conditioners and nothing seems to work. I came across your channel and noticed that you use a lot of natural moisturizers and leave out the chemicals. I wanted to try them but I'm having a hard time finding some of the ingredience in the US. Any ideas or tips, without me having to order from a bunch of different places and paying the massive shipping cost? I just want to make it for myself.

Nubian Queen: Can you shows us a leave hair spray or milk? Please ❤️

Mon Day: Hi, may I asked where did you get the cetrimonium from

lateifa gantt: You’ve gained a subscriber and a fan….because I’ve been needing this extra push❣️.

Farrah C: A conditioner recipe, this is going to be interesting. Thanks Elise. 14.3.2021

Mer.Lo: Where did you buy your scale set and what brand are you using?

Monita: thank you so much for this!!!!!

Fbd Snelheid: Can i use the the wash conditioner also for the beard?

Kashika Dogra: Just love Your formulations n the way you explain everything.. Specially your voice . I hv one query I tried using xanthum gum instead of guar gum and it all got Clumped.. It took me so much time n effort to make water phase smooth using a blender.. After adding glycerine and xanthum gum mixture. Should I use guar gum only or reduce the quantity of xanthum gum? I hope it doesn't affect the stability of end product.. Now that I hv added xanthum gum? Pls guide.

Smriti Barman: Hello Elise, if It's BTMS 50, then the percentage will decrease ie for BTMS 25 it's 4 so for BTMS 50 is 2. Please answer.

Romaisa Khan: If I want to add my own ingredients like honey mango oil in instead of coconut oil

Amber Sumerall: Where did you order those bottles?

Zaire Willis: Can I substitute guar gum with xanthan gum?
