Hey lovelies, thank you so much for tuning into my channel, i'm coming to you today with a video on eight tips to help grow your hair out from short to long and if you're new here ask that you go ahead and subscribe to my channel. Ask that you turn on your notification bell. I ask that you go ahead and share this video with your friends and your loved ones, and also give the video a thumbs up. Okay. So in this video, like i said, i'm going to give you eight tips that i swear by tips that have worked for me in the past and tips that i'm currently using now in my regimen to help grow my hair back out and if you're new. Here i accept you go ahead and check out some of my previous videos, so you can get to see how long my hair was in times past. Of course, i'm rocking about now. I went ahead and i cut my hair for some reason and you can also check that out and the reason as to why i cut my hair in my updated 20 22 video, but anyway just go ahead and check out those previous videos, but without further ado Tip number one is to try not to switch up on your products if you're, currently using a certain product, and you notice that that product is really working for your hair. The shampoo is cleaning your scalp. That condition is giving you the slip that you want. You want to go ahead and you want to stick with that product. Okay, now, if you're new, i would suggest that you go out and actually try different products, because you want to find what's going to work for your hair and what's not going to work for your hair, okay, so sample and explore. Try different brands and things like that, but once you find that product that is really giving you that slip, that's that cleanser! That'S really cleansing your scalp! That shampoo! That'S really causing your scalp, that moisturizer that's really keeping your hair, moisturized and hydrated! You want to take it, you want to purchase it and you want to keep it in your arsenal. Okay, and you want to use it hold on to it and don't lose it okay. Another thing that i would encourage you to do too is when you go out and you're first trying out these products, try not to buy the actual bottle of the product. Right, don't go spending your money on the full-size shampoo bottle or the full-size condition bottle. You want to go ahead and you want to purchase you some of the new sample or travel size packet, okay, and i have some to show y'all. So these this is what you want to buy. You can purchase this from the beauty supply store for 1.99. So i have two here right now: i use orx, that's the perm, that's the relaxer that i use on my hair. So i use the shampoo and i use their conditioner, but these packets are really good for beginners. So if you're new and you're trying to find some products, that's going to work for your hair, you want to go ahead and you want to reach for these, so you can actually see what's going to work for your hand, what's not going to work for your Hair, if this shampoo is actually going to clean your hair, the way you want to clean your hair and if this conditioner is really going to keep your hair, hydrated and shiny and moisturized, and give you that slip that you want. You want to go ahead and you want to pack pick up a package like this. Now. This tip is something that i'm going to actually take here to too, because i relax my hair every four to five months now i have the actual shampoo and conditioner to these um to these packets, but i don't really use the shampoo in the conditioner until i Relax my hair so right now that shampoo and that conditioner is just sitting under my cabinet in my bathroom and it's not being utilized right. But whenever i get ready to relax my hair, i could just go reach for these or go to the beauty, supply, store and purchase me two packs of this and two packs of this and use it after i relax my hair right and it will save me Some money, instead of just having those shampoos and conditioner underneath my cabinet right, so go ahead. I covered you to pick these up. I think all brands have these little packets. If i'm not mistaken, i know tcp has it so you want to go ahead and you just want to purchase you these little packets and if your hair is really long, like i said, go ahead pick up. Two shampoos pick up two conditioners just so you have enough, but i think you can actually do two shampoos with this, and maybe you of course you want to use the whole packet of the conditioner okay, so that's tip number one. Once you find your product stick with it and just keep going with that, okay, so your head can really go along tip number two is to try not to scratch your scalp okay. Now, if you're somebody that experiences dandruff, you want to try not to scratch your scalp and what i mean by scratching your scalp is don't take one of these little fine, combs and part your hair like this and then go in and begin to root up and Scratch up your dandruff okay, because when you do that, you don't realize it, but you could be causing little scrapes and scars on your scalp, causing little fine abrasions on your scalp right now. Scalp health is really really important and i'm gon na link a card up below a video i did in the past on scalp health. But you want to make sure you don't scratch at your scalp and do that because you're causing more harm than good to your hair, a lot of times when you go in and you start raking up that dandruff like that you're rooting up your hair out of Your scalp okay, so you're gon na, be losing a lot of hair, even though you think, okay, i'm lifting up that dandruff. So when i wash my hair it'll just flow out easily, as i shampoo my hair, but your hair is going to be coming out in the process of you actually scraping at your scalp and i'm guilty of this too. I used to do this in a pad. Whenever i would have my box braids in all my protective styling in and i would take my braids out, i would notice i have a lot of dandruff on myself, so i would go in and i would part it and i would just scratch at myself part It scratch out my scalp, not realizing that i'm basically damaging my scalp. By doing it. Okay and, like i said self-help is so important and then when i would go and try to detangle my hair, a lot of my hair will come out along with those flakes. Okay, so that's tip number two: do not scratch at your scalp. If you experience dandruff what you want to do is you want to go ahead and just clarify and shampoo, your hair, if you shampoo your hair and you massage your scalp real good when you in the shower that dandruff is going to lift up that dandruff is Going to begin to flow out, as your shampoo begins to wash out of the hair. Okay, so don't scratch at your scalp we're trying to keep our hair not lose out here. Okay, tip number three tip number three: is you want to try to stretch your wash days so, if you're somebody who's washing your hair every two weeks, i would encourage you to stretch it, maybe three weeks or stretch it even a month and then go ahead and Wash your hair okay, a lot of times: people don't realize it, but the more you shampoo, your hair, the more you dry out, your hair, the more you strip, your hair of its natural oils, the more you strip, your hair, with moisture and of its hydration. Okay. So you want to stretch your wash day as long as possible. Now, if you're somebody who worked out every single day and multiple times out the week and stuff like that, i can understand that you know your hair might get really oily might get weighed down. Of course, so then you might want to go ahead and use a dry shampoo or something like that, but i would encourage you to go ahead and try to stretch your wash days. That'S going to really help grow. Your hair out too, okay tip number four tip number four: is you want to make sure when you are washing your hair, that your t-shirt drying your hair and not tower drying your hair? Okay, towels can cause your hair to break because of the cotton fabric that the towel is made of. So when you take the towel - and you put it on your head and you wrap that you know - you wrap your towel around and you put on your head when you go to take the towel off, you can be snagging and popping and pulling at your head. Not even realizing okay and when our hair is wet, very fragile and it's in a vulnerable state. So you want to really try to t-shirt right here when the teacher dry, your hair you're, going to see a big improvement a lot of times. When i teach you draw my hair, the t-shirt really absorbs the water. That'S in my hair. It don't leave my hair dried out. I still have that moist feel to my hair, my follicles and my hair strands, and everything is still like flat and laid down and smooth the way it was when i wash my hair, so t-shirt drying is the best just get you a t-shirt that you no Longer use or one of your husband or boyfriend or whoever t-shirt um, they have an extra t-shirt. You want to get you one of those and just use that every time you wash your hair, so that's tip number four make sure your t-shirt dry, your hair and that's how it's drying - okay, tip, number five tip number five is to go back to the basics. Okay, so now, if in times past, you was using a certain product on your hair and that product was growing, your hair was keeping your hair hydrated go back to that product. If you was using grease and you stopped using grease, go back to using grease. If you was using a certain or you - and you know that way back when that oil was keeping your hair hydrated and that hip that way, you was giving your hair the shine that you wanted, don't be afraid to go back to the basics, don't be afraid To go back to the things that you once used in the past when you was a little girl and your hair was growing and your hair was thick okay, especially if you're experiencing, if you're, going through, like a hardship right now with your hair, growing and you're. Trying to figure things out um, you want to think about those things that you used in the past, especially if you had long hair when you was younger. What was your mother using on your hair back then that was actually growing your hair out and making your hair flourish the way it was flourishing. Okay, you want to go back and try to pick back up those old products that they're still on the market and use them in your hair, because if they was working for you back, then i'm pretty sure they will work for you now, okay, tip number. Six is to spend less time with your hair and now, when i say, spend less time with your hair, i don't mean neglect your hair. By no means am i telling you to neglect your hair when i say spend less time with your hair and spend less time styling your hair spend less time manipulating your hair spend less time playing in it and combing it, and doing all that, let your hair Do what it's going to do? Okay, let your natural oils come in! Let that all you work its magic on your hair. Just leave your hair alone protective style, your hair, whenever you need to protect the style of your hair and leave it alone, and it goes back into the wash day too just let your hair be wash it once a month. Let time go by, let your hair just stay there and just grow and catch yourself and do what it needs to do. So. That'S tip number six number seven. Now this one, i know y'all gon na be like what stay out of the mirror. Okay - and i need to take you to this tip too stay out of the mirror. If you're not looking in the mirror all day, then you won't find a reason to want to comb your hair. You won't find a reason to want to lay down that little fly away. You won't find a reason to want to say: oh wow, my curls dropped on this side, and still you know you won't find fault with your hand, because you're not looking in the mirror to actually see yourself to see your hair to fall forward with your hair. If that makes sense, okay, you want to stay out of the mirror as much as possible. You don't want to constantly grab your little compact mirror out of your purse and checking it and fingering your hair and playing with your hair and maneuvering your hair stay out of the mirror. You stay out of the mirror. You won't up with your hair. You won't want to bother your hair. You just want to leave it alone, because you don't even know that your hair is just do whatever it wants to do. Okay, so that's tip number seven tip number eight is the old goodie tip, but it's to be consistent. Now all these tips, i gave seven all the way down to one. You want to be consistent with those tips, so you want to be consistent with your drawing here. You may be consistent with using the products that you're using you want to be consistent with washing your hair um once a month and not washing your hair. Ever so often, you want to be consistent, we're not scratching at your scalp. All the tips i gave you before this tip is what you want to be consistent with doing okay and that's the only way you're going to see results, we're trying to grow our hair out. From short to long, especially me, i'm trying to grow my hair back out. We want to be consistent. Okay, so i hope those tips helped somebody eight simple tips: go ahead. Try them out for yourself see if they're gon na work for you tweak them do whatever you need to do to make it work for you to make it fit into your regimen, um and yeah. So that's it! So. Valeria Stokes: I too had to cut my hair to bob. I was stretching too long, over manipulating with moisture and sealing, too much protein. Amazing how quickly my hair has recovered. I just do not have time and now I go to a professional monthly, stopped daily moisture and seal, use olive oil serum or bio silk serum each night and wrap my hair with satin scarf and a professional does my relaxer etc. Every 12 weeks. My hair is full, no split ends, and has grown from neck bob length to just below the shoulder in 2 months. I went back to my regime I used in the 80s.

Donna Thomas: Thank you for sharing this information. Always a pleasure watching and learning from your videos. Keep them coming sweetie❣️!

Renette Gordley: Hey Olivia, I stick to what's been working if it ain't broke don't fix it. ☺️ You cut your hair & it's still☺️ long. The bob style looks good I like how it's two different lengths on each side. Thanks for the tips. God bless you.
