What'S good, everybody welcome back to the channel if you are new here. Well, hello, i am your main girl mel. Consider me your guinea pig, especially today, because we did some shopping and we're gon na review, actually three different brands. I want to try something that is brand new, something that you have been waiting for me to review and one that is so overly sponsored. I just had to try it for myself and the thing about this one is everybody hates mondays, so i don't know i'm going to be shampooing with the monday hair care, moisture, hydration, shampoo and conditioner, but the rest of this review is going to be a battle Of the brands compiler song of heritage by mindy and twist by we dad yes mom without further ado, let's get to it, would you like to see what's under the hood, so i'm actually not very dirty today, i just need a little refreshing as i do, especially In the summer, so i'm really excited to try this moisture, hydration, shampoo and conditioner for dry and damaged hair, to see how gentle cleansing it is or how very cleansing it is. I don't know these are sls free. If you don't know what sls is, it is sodium lauryl sulfate, a very effective detergent, cleanser, which can be harsh on the curls. It is also paraben free and cruelty free, and i believe these bottles are made with recycled plastic and i have to admit the bottles are very cutesy. Let'S see what's inside, shall we to the shower? It has a super soft scent like you can hardly detect it, but it does smell fresh she's, fresh, fresh, exciting she's, and you could see it see how it wasn't like. Looking like a conditioner like a co-wash does or looking completely clear, like a clarifying shampoo. Usually, does this was kind of right in the middle? What is making you so foamy? Well taking a look here. It has shea butter. It also has hydrolyzed rice protein and, if you feel like your hair is a little sensitive to proteins or you don't need much. Having them in your shampoo is great, because one having protein and strengthening ingredients in your shampoo is gon na help prevent any damage that the shampoo might do. Since you know overly cleansing our hair and this whole action is not it's not like it's not the best. It'S essential, but we do want to be gentle and so those proteins in there do help to fortify. Let'S see how it feels when i rinse make sure you rinse your shampoo thoroughly, okay from the back from the ears from the crack bring it out. It feels nice, it feels cleaned not too, not too stripped, not too stripped. Indeed, now that i bring it out, let's condition it's very thin, very runny. Where are you going so we have ammo dimethicone, and that is a silicone that is wonderful for adding slip to the hair, also very, very good for color treated hair. It has coconut oil. Coconut oil is a wonderful oil. It can actually penetrate into the hair shea butter, hydrolyzed rice protein again as well, panthenol, which is b5 a very, very hydrating and nourishing ingredient for hair and skin. I am liking some of these ingredients, i'm liking, how it's feeling on my hair so far, because i was kind of liking the slip i didn't mind the slip and that detangling session at all. Let'S see how that lasts after i rinse and take you out of the shower okay. So far, honestly, i like it, i like it. I was pretty impressed with how it felt i liked how it smelled it was very faint, but the real test will have to be how this holds up in a few days. If my scalp gets really itchy, that will be a horrible sign, but i will let you know, because i will be doing an update in a few days to see how this whole wash day holds up. So for now, let's get right into styling and we're going to do a side by side right away, starting with our prep products. What does prep mean? Prep means to prepare our hair for styling, which includes adding a leave-in conditioner. So let's do twist. First, don't get it twisted? Okay, we have the curl goals, moisture, locking, leave-in, conditioner detangle soften shape. Okay, do i need to shake it doesn't appear so, but now that i'm reading it it says it is lightweight moisture. So all of the twist products have a scale of how moisturizing they are up to five water droplets, and this is rated three out of five and it also has safflower oil, rice, protein and camellia flour. Let'S see the thickness, that's a really nice spray and it looks really nice just a really nice level of creaminess, where it's not too heavy. It also smells really light as well, very good, i'm just gon na brush that through to distribute it feels really nice yeah. Yeah yeah definitely gave me detangling. I might have put a lot i'll admit. Sometimes i get carried away with the spray okay, my bad, my bad anyways for the heritage leave. This is a leave-in conditioner pudding, so you know it's going to be for drier hair types. As comes in a tube, and it is a creamy lotion and it smells much more perfumey, much more perfumey wow. This is my first time smelling the heritage products after seeing so many people review them, and so many people talk about the scent and say how strong it is. It'S definitely there i kind of like it, but let's see how it smells in the hair, but it is a pre-styler leave-in treatment that conditions, hair, gluten-free mineral oil-free, color-safe, cruelty-free vegan, also feeling very nice, also feeling very nice on the detangling scale. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't extra like on the other side, but it did seem to really soak into my hair, even though i added a generous amount, and it was a thicker cream so right off the bat between these two, they both help. My hair detangle wonderfully both sides feel great and they actually both have one of the same hero ingredients, which is safflower oil. They also both contain a little bit of protein, as well as glycerin higher up on the list. The heritage has more glycerin it's the second ingredient. Glycerin is a wonderful ingredient in our leave-in conditioners to draw moisture in and keep it into our hair. This is definitely something you want to see in your prepping product, but yeah. I think the biggest difference between the two different types of formulas here is that the heritage, one is definitely on the richer side, so would be more suitable for thicker hair, because it also has shea butter coconut oil as well as dimethicone, which the twist does not Have any d4, d5 or d6 silicones how to shove it up out of what uh yeah um anyone else confused? What does that mean? I can tell you this. Silicones is a very, very big category of ingredients. There are so many different types of silicones and so they're, definitely not all built the same. They do different things, but dimethicone is one of the best ones to add shine, detangling slip and just smoothing to frizzy hair strands as seen in the heritage. So anyways. Let'S get to styling. Finally, styling will be kept very simple as well. I'M only going to be using cream stylers, because i know that not everyone likes to use a gel, because some people are still very afraid of that crunchy cast that gel can give you, even though using a gel is wonderful in high humidity and times when you Need extra hold if your hair falls flat, i'm curious to see if these creams, these styling creams will provide any hold on their own. So this is going to be a very simple one: styler routine and from twist we have the weather up lotion super light. Styling lotion also on the level three out of five for moisture. This lotion provides pillow soft defined curls, while locking out humidity and defending against frizz and flyaways. It has jojoba oil mango butter, shea butter, coconut fruit extract and wheat protein, so that would mean it's definitely not gluten free. However, if you are a curly that likes to avoid mineral oil, petroleum and those d4, d5 d6 silicones, let's see how this goes wow. All of the smells from twists so far are really really nice and light. Okay, that's what i'm going to apply to my one side. It is very, very silky feeling silky so now we're going to get ahead of the curl and get fancy with the ahead of the curl curl creme, it's a cramp with the axe song. This is songs. Sulfates i mean you're, not a shampoo. I i i don't like that kind of marketing anyways um. This is silicone: free mineral oil, free color, safe cruelty, free vegan, and it is also made oh with jojoba protein. The twist had jojoba oil. This has jojoba protein, interesting, lemongrass and chamomile. Well, let's see how all of these proteins hold up in my high porosity hair, i might add - i mean my hair really likes a lot of proteins uh, but let's see how these act and let's also see how this does in humidity. I need to add a little bit more to be even with the other side. It reminds me of like home sense. You know that's what the smell reminds me of like a winner's home sense, i'm in the candle aisle like it smells like a candle. I get candle vibes, which you know it's it's fine, but sometimes you need to put out the fire. You can only take that for so long. The twist side definitely doesn't feel as heavy, but when i twist and squeeze there's a good amount in here, but ever felt like oh no, i put too much product on. I just try to squeeze out the excess, as well as take my damp microfiber towel. Just to help absorb a little bit of excess product as well heritage is thick, the heritage is thick and i want to define my curls as much as possible, hoping that will help to keep their form and their shape a little bit better, especially since i'm not Adding anything after like a gel to hold, so i want to make sure my spirals are spiraling as i was finger. Coiling as i was styling yeah. The twist side feels much lighter, but honestly not as much slip as the heritage side. Alrighty, i'm gon na go dry. Well, let's take a good, wet look, two different moisture levels. Let'S see which side gives me better definition, better volume i'll be back in a second okay, we're dry. What do we think here now we have to finish. We haven't finished. There'S two more products right now we're going to try out, but you know what those two products are finishing oils which usually add for softness to lock in the moisture and right now both sides are pretty soft before i've touched it and scrunched it and done anything. We'Ve got twists over here and hey, i just spoiled it for you, man. I have amanda behind the camera now and i was gon na. Ask you which side you thought looked better. I could feel the heritage has a little bit of like a cast a little bit of strength to to the curl a little bit hold in that curl cream, which is what i was looking to see whereas yeah. I know the twist is just very soft and fluffy, but oh, my goodness, my hair is like a pillow. My hair feels like a pillow, let's finish with our serums, so i've got the heritage smooth it over with argan oil elixir. It'S mineral oil free. This is a silicone based serum, which i love. I love and let's see what this is like. Yes, so definitely a little bit more on the thicker serum side, it doesn't feel like water, but it also doesn't feel like a gel serum. These types of products really help to seal on top of the hair, keep all that moisture in and add shine. It'S got that same candle smell the sensitive noses be aware. I think my hair is looking very good. Let'S see what the hero ingredient of the twist is, it is a curl rain, multi-use miracle oil. This has five level. Five ultimate moisture for curls protects hydrate shine. There are six miracle oils that are combined to deliver intense hydration, sweet almond oil, safflower oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil, grapeseed, oil and castor oil, i believe, would be the last one. Oh this one feels a little bit lighter than the heritage. Does it smell like? Oh, my goodness that smells fantastic. The twist stuff is all smell, very nice and light not as perfumey. I really love the smell of that. Well, okay, tell me: do you really love the look of that? What do we think they both look? Fantastic, we're gon na have to stay tuned, to see which one holds up by day three day, four i'll keep you updated and then, hopefully by then we'll have a verdict. If i like one side over the other, or at least i'll, be able to give my recommendations on which products i really would repurchase and and try again see what, if you i'm fluffing back everybody and holy moly, let us review, shall we i'm gon na give You some final thoughts that i have after living with this hair for three days and for context. I have been outside and it has been so ridiculously humid. My hair has felt very, very soft in the humidity, but also yes, very fluffy, so anyways here is what we're looking like. We'Ve got the twist by we dad we've got the heritage by mindy and i want to run you through my thoughts of each product, but just before that, i have two more that i thought we could try now that it's a bit of a refresh day, i've Got some dry shampoos from both of these brands? We have the so rich, so fresh cleansing and conditioning dry shampoo from twist by we dab, remember to be in a well-ventilated room, remember to be in a well-venting man, and then we have the lazy day dry, shampoo by heritage by mindy. Mcknight i mean oh, you should use it when you stink, you look like corollaville. That'S how dry shampoo works. Ma'Am! That'S a lot! I'M not giving up yet well shake it out. This is a very good test to show you what dry shampoos look like on dark, hair, dark roots, these gray locks i'm going to use a touch of their serum again. Like did, i just add oil to dry shampoo, which is supposed to absorb oils. Maybe did i have oils initially for the dry shampoo to absorb no, but this is still a good visual to show you what it looks like on dark hair now that we're refreshed, let's just get right down to the comparisons i'm starting with those dry shampoos. The twist wins for me. This is actually my second time using this second review. I did review this on instagram before and i like it. I do like it and again going back to the smells the twist by we dad is much lighter and a little bit more natural, whereas this is like very heavily perfumed fragranced. That'S a bit much! It was a bit dust. It left me dusty looking so this is gon na be a no for me, but let's take it all the way back to our wash day when we use a real, shampoo and conditioner. I am pleasantly surprised with the monday hair care. The shampoo my scalp feels great. It feels really nice again. I do feel like it was nice and gentle as a gentle cleanser, especially if you have damaged hair like this is great for your regular shampoo in between, like your deep clarifying cleansers and that's not just for curls. These are definitely for all hair types. The conditioner, i don't feel like it, was crazy heavy like for me. I would have to deep condition in between uses. I wouldn't only rely on this conditioner because it is a little bit on the lighter end, but still very moisturizing and preparing it. Has those protein ingredients in here these are a hint. These are lemonade and i don't i can't say that without a lot of drugstore shampoos and conditioners, there's not many drugstore shampoos and conditioners i like, but these were good now moving on to our leave-in conditioners. I liked both of these formulas, because i think both of them have a place if you have much thicker and drier hair go for more of a cream base like this, which comes in a tube, because it's going to be much richer. It'S going to do more! For your hair, without having to use as much whereas the twist formula was much lighter, it would be better for hair types that are more fine to medium. However, although i liked it, i did notice it get a little bit foamy when my hair was really really wet when styling, so i think it'd be better applied on more damp hair, but it definitely was pretty lightweight which i liked, but finally, as for our curl Stylers the main key styling ingredient for this style. The results determined that the twist held up better for me was - i surprised well due to the fact that this is marketed as a weather up lotion and it's supposed to be great for humidity. I am pleasantly surprised that it did hold up at least better than than the heritage side. There is more definition and the curls held up better, even though i didn't actually feel hold. I didn't feel any crunch on the hair, and so i can just imagine how much better this would be if i used it with the gel, they also have a weather-up gel, which i'm just now excited to use, but even on its own. I think this one curl cream did really well. That being said, i don't hate my heritage side, i don't hate egypt, i don't hate rigid hate, no forget it. I don't hate it uh, but it definitely didn't hold up as much as it did on day. One where i did feel like there was a little bit of cast. I felt like it had a good hold to it at first. It really didn't hold up in humidity um the curls look more fallen, they're, not as defined, but at least they did still hold up to their softness. My hair still feels really really soft. It is a very moisturizing cream, just not really to be used on its own. If we're talking about long, lasting results, it didn't quite do it for me and for my next wash day, i'm more excited to try these the twisties by the way bags. Yes, mom. What do you say? Let me know which side you prefer, because it really all comes down to preference. Nothing is inherently wrong with either side. I think there are benefits to each routine for different hair types. This is just obviously what worked a little bit better. For me, but i'd love to hear from you, so drop your thoughts in the comment section below. If you want to look into any of these products, i will link them in the description box below i love that these products are accessible and affordable, and i like them all i i kind of like them all. I just like some better and that's been my comparison for today, this battle of the brands and first impressions review of a few different products. Let me know if you like this video by giving it a thumbs up subscribe, so you can see more videos like this, and i will see you in the next one. This has been your main girl mel and i am out peace, stop making a mess of my sink. It could have been my hair that could have been my hair ready, set and shop. So you drop perfect, you nailed it. I did so i'm actually not very dirty today and thank you. I think i personally think don't be touching it too much to show the camera. Okay, don't touch it. I said she's touching it don't touch it. Okay, stop moving! So much! It'S annoying editing turn. You personally think what they're saying your personal thoughts just stop. Stop moving your head. Don'T move your head just hold still. Can i breathe yes? Oh no. What is it progressively getting worse? It looks great. Oh, i know wait looks like there's cobwebs in there, no damn it. I do think. One of the greatest lessons we have learned here today is, if you are looking for longevity to use more gel, but if you're, just looking for that softness a creamy, routine and a martini will do that. For you and me, okay, all right. Everybody i'm still eating dry shampoo, i'm eating

Manes by Mell: HI CURLFRIENDS! Thank you so much for checking out this review! I hope you love this product battle and watching me try these out for you! PSA I just got a discount code for you off of the TWIST products, check out the description box above this comment (under the video) for the deets! <3

Mᴀʀsʜʏ: Am I the only one who goes to target or Walmart and immediately goes to the hair and body care section even though I know I don’t need anything?

Dee Silver: Today was graduation day at our school and with your tips, I was able to manage to be frizz free, voluminous and defined curls. Everyone asked me if that’s my hair or if it’s chemically enhanced. I was flattered that my hair looked that good that they thought it was chemically treated.

Jade Murray: I would love to see you use the LUSH new curly hair brand. I have been using the co-wash and the curl power conditioner and the curl power cream (leave in cream) for the last couple months and I love it and it smells super delicious! I use the kinky curly custard as my gel (that is my holy grail) and then when I need to clarify I use the Malibu C recommended by you! LUSH's leave in cream is thicker and they say you can use it as a hold product alone so sometimes ill use it after the curl smiths light as a feather leave-in if I am going for a simple no cast look... but you've been on the whole vegan, cruelty free product support train and this is exactly that so I thought i'd comment the suggestion for the next review (:

travellingfemme: I LOVE the twist line. Especially the ones in the white bottle. The curl primer is the best second day refresher I’ve ever used.

Astacia Taylor: I wasn’t crazy about day 3 results with either line, is that weird?? Your curls are beautiful though! I actually showed my stylist a photo of you at my last appointment for color goals! I’d love to see this product battle with gels from either line added

Khadija Nadiri: I love you and your seester! Your videos are super helpfull and needed, so thank you so much, you have no idea how much it has helped our confidence. Can you please do videos about these topics 1 sealing oils because serums are not cheap 2 why some people look amazing with only one product, the one and done method 3 how to read labels and most important ingredients for every hair type 4 more affordable haircare products because aveda is not affordable here in Belgium 5 why some people despite everything they  do dont grow long hair and what to do about it

Magi McCorkle: I really like the fluffiness of the Twist side, and due to my fine med-low density hair I like that it seems to be light. Next time I resupply on my products I look forward to giving them a try.

Dania Sandoval: I was so scared to use sulfates, silicone etc on my curly hair, but thanks to you I'm not anymore and my hair is doing great. Even after bleaching it. Gracias ♡

Dahlia Alviar: I have been wondering about the Twist products can’t wait to really look at what they have and grab me some!

quantumwombat: Thank you so much for continuing to mention how things smell in your reviews! I’ve noticed it a lot in your recent videos and just wanted to say it is greatly appreciated! ❤️

Laura Spangler: I just bought the Monday shampoo and conditioner a couple weeks ago and wasn’t sure how to feel about it because I saw the “sulfates” and used it 2-3 times so far. I feel a little better now after watching your review ☺️

Deanna: Happy Texture Tuesday!! So excited for this cause I actually just picked up the hairitage curl cream haven't tried it yet and the dry shampoo which I loved but I have the magic dust texturizing powder that doesn't leave a white residue you should try that one lol!! Thanks!! Much love and happiness!!! Xoxo

Hannah Case: Okay Mell, hair question. I have been using a lot of wonderful moisturizing products, styling my curls and they've turned out super defined! However, I'm still getting some frizz on the top and sides of my head. My ends look great, but I can't seem to figure out why even after refreshing my curls, they still get this frizz. Any advice??

Elizabeth lapointe: Thank you for calling out the gluten free products! I loved the Twist line and keep wanting to try more of it. I was not a fan of hairitage. Was way too heavy and greasy for those of us with lacking hairs.

Ciara Rozet: I appreciate what Mell does for us. Happy TEXTURE TUESDAY!!!!

Jessica D'Orazio: I feel like I would go for the Hairitage leave-in, with the Twist stylers for my hair type. Thanks for the great review, as always! ❤

Je T'aime Barrera: Mel! Thank you for this product challenge! I’ve been going broke on Ouidad products because they work so well. It’s great to see a curl expert’s assessment of their much more affordable drugstore line! For reference, a liter of their Climate Control Gel is $75. Whereas, the 6 products recommended by the Twist quiz totals $60!!!! My wallet feels fuller already! Please keep these coming! ❤️

Callie Hagood: I just stumbled onto Twist last week at my Walmart in the clearance section. I had never seen it there before and I look at hair stuff a lot so it was a big surprise to me but it's by Ouidad so I felt good getting 3 items for $5 each. I tried them and was so impressed I went back the next day and cleared out what they had left so I could stock up and save $$$ in the long run. I think Twist is a fantastic budget option for great curls!

Steve Winder: Mell, love your videos and the great fun information you give to Curly Girls (and boys) You always make me smile... thanks for doing what you do... from a fan and a fellow Curly Hairdresser x

Kim Gilster - The Spiritual Synergist: Definitely the Twist side. Your curls are so much more defined and curly. I also love the smell of twist. I just started using their products and so far so good.

Narria Ward: Mel I LOVE your videos! You helped me to understand that the parts of my curls that were no longer curling was because of heat damage. I'm on my way to a better head of beautiful. Thank you also for showing me how to give my curls a dusting to keep length and health. Do you have any videos on dying curly hair? I need to correct a terrible box job I did and I think it dried out my babies.

Savannah King: I'm a recent subscriber and I'd just like to say that I love your channel! You have helped my hair so much and your videos are so funny and helpful! Thank you so much to you and your seester for every amazing texture Tuesday and I look forward to all of the new videos!!

Alyssa Rosengard: Omg! I love a hard gel cast. I can get so many more days from my wash. I tried just using a scalp salt scrub for my wash and no shampoo because it lathered. It was the Everyone scrub. It didn’t work. My scalp was oily the next day. Back to the double cleanse.

Kenna Thornton: I love a good battle of the brands! Thanks for including more affordable products!

Si Es: One of my favorite days of the week!! Texture Tuesday! Mel I have a question that I'm sorry if I sound dumb for asking but I'm learning so many new things from you guys I have to ask! lol Are we not supposed to run our fingers through our strands when we wash?? I noticed most people on YT only show washing their scalp but I'm like what about the strands?? Lol I could be completely wrong and maybe it's just edited out but it's something I've been very curious about for a long time bc I always run my hands through all of my hair when I wash. Again sorry if this is a dumb question but I had to ask. I need my hair to look as beautiful as you guys ❤️ much love from Houston!!

Jazzy J: Hi Mell!! I've been on my hair journey for a little over a year now and watching your videos helped so much. My hair was damaged and I would brush through my hair everyday DRY. Although when I do my hair I always get fly a ways and then as the days go by they turn into frizz. If anyone has any tips or product recommendation that will help a lot. (I have 3a- 3c, fine hair)

G. Levine: New curlfriend here! Binging on your vids and very excited to now have a curl care plan in place thanks to you as I grow out my menopausal 3c curls from a pixie cut. (Hey! Maybe you could share some advice on your experience regarding hormonal hair changes ) Keep the try-outs comin’!

Olivia Nunnally: I’ve been eyeing up the Twist brand for a while now and I’m so glad you did this review! I trust your recommendations and can’t wait to try this brand now.

Kyla Boutin: Yes love the drugstore recommendations! Like you said accessible and affordable, that's key for me

Luiza Menezes: Hey Mel! Thanks so much for another amazing video :) I was looking on the ulta website for the Monday shampoo and a lot of comments said it was causing their hair to fall out — is there any specific ingredient that would do this?

Robin Rogers: Just love you and your seester!! As far as which products I like, at first I thought the Hairitage looked better, but then on day 3 Twist definitely held up better so I'd go with Twist!! It makes sense since it's a Ouidad product!!! :)

J folan: Right now it’s 1:45am and I’m watching your videos. I love all you do for us, both you and your seester. I’m a older hairdresser and am still always looking for updated advice. Thanks so much. You and Amanda are beautiful….but I am jealous that you both have all that gorgeous hair. I’m 2C/3A fine, low density broad that wishes you both a beautiful life ❤️

Star 123: Great Review!!! I avoid the Haritage bc strong fragrances are a no-no for me as a migraine person but the Twist line sounds good . I like that it has different levels of moisture

Opal Gibson: Bless it. I’ve been on my curl journey for two years, and I still haven’t found anything that really works for my waves/curls. I’ve been looking at the twist products. I just hope this works, since my hair has a thick but fine follicles. Thank you! I’ve been watching you since I started this curl journey.

Chinwe Okoye: Thank you for this video. I loved the affordability and effectiveness of these products! The Twist products worked exactly as shown in this video. I got soft fluffy curls!! Excellent curl pattern!!

Mrs Fauresse: Hi Mell! Thanks a lot for your videos, they've really helped me enhance my curls. Just a suggestion for a future one: summer is really hot in my area (south of France) and the hot air really seems to drain all the moisture from my curls, so that they feel like straw. A video about tips and tricks to keep our hair hydrated even during summer would be great (after the "cold curls" series, why not do the "hot curls" one?

EL: Definitely "Twist"! I have fine, dense, hair, and I know it would be fine for me! Thanks Mel❣️

Christina: Yay! I love your review! Would love to see your results with the Twist gel too. Thanks for the coupon code☮️

Amanda Spackman: Love the comparison! I hate ordering hair care products and prefer things I can buy at the store or Ulta. One product by hairitage that you didn’t try is the texturizing spray. I love to use it for volume on refresh days. I agree that the scent is a bit intense though :)

Jazmin H: hi mell! i have a few questions: ive been meaning to go lighter on my hair (highlights) and as i was booking, i saw a full pintura vs a balayage and i wasn’t sure what the difference was and which was more suitable for my hair. also, since i want to go like a honey blonde, what shampoos do you recommend for someone with thick, textured hair? please help a curlfriend out

Tanairi Mastarreno: Yessss battle of the products! I have been tempted 2 try out the Monday shampoo and conditioner and now I will definitely buy. I have not heard of the other products but I definitely can't wait 2 try the twist hair products, especially now with all the humidity that's coming. "Stop moving your head"

Meh: I've tried Hairtiage on my hair and my daughter's hair and I have no idea why it never worked on our hair. But, I guess to each their own.

Frances Keller: In regards to the Monday moisturizing line, Dry and Damaged don’t always equal each other. They should make a separate line for damaged hair that is protein rich. Sometime dry hair is just on the drier side because it’s curly and textured.. just my thoughts

Pandorica: The Twist side definitely came out better! I wonder tho how well both sides would have done with some gel. Either way, great video Mel...I'll have to check out the Twist products.

viviana: i used hairitage didnt mind the scent loved the hold it gives but my skin broke out where my hair would touch my face did anyone else notice this? or is it just me?

Amie Gossage: I tried the twist products today and love my hair! Thanks so much! I was looking for something that was lightweight as I have very fine hair. It did the trick.

Patty Patty: Happy Texture Tuesday !!! So excited to try these out Mell !!

Juli Hoop711: I love your videos! You really know what your talking about and it's help my hair journey alot! Thank you for being a place of fun and happiness where I find myself giggling AND super educational!☺️

Shortylp2000: You're killing me, Mell! I JUST got done telling myself I'm not allowed to buy anymore hair products for awhile (I went a little crazy during Ulta's hair care sale) and then you post this.... Now I've gotta talk myself out of running out and buying the Twist products.

Clarissa Ramirez: Just purchased Twist with your code! Thank you ☺️ Definitely rewatching your vids to get back curls back

Claudia Marie: Omgggggg. PLEASE do a review of the full Ouidad line using the cream AND gel!! Thank you! I definitely have looser curls and I rely on a good hold to keep them spirally.

Regina Euzebio: Heritage also has a protein refresh spray (I think that's what it was called) that is also stanky, but I feel like it gave me a nice priming for my stylers

jloves puppers: I have wavy hair, my gf has curls like yours. We both live off hairitage! It's so versatile and can work for everyone depending on how you use it

Cara Rynerson: i love your tutorials and use them to learn about caring for my hair. I’m in my 40s and my grey hair (which i tint light brown with Cassia, Henna, Amla and Indigo) grows in nearly straight against my C3 waves. I can’t find any good solutions outside of finger coiling (which should work but i usually end up straightening my good curl) or a curling wand. I read that most women end up with tighter curling grey, which i think would frustrate me even more. Any thoughts or ideas? Keep up the great work.

J Flo: I want to thank you. I knew my hair was curly but didn’t know what texture. You’ve helped me find my texture and my hair actually looks curly now. Thank you so much!

Riley B: Thank you for always giving us great comparisons. I’d love to see winner vs winner from some of your battles. Blessings to you both!

Sun Shine: I love you and your sense of humor.. you're really fantastic I would love to see you treating and styling damaged curls of some of your customers.. especially the dry hair.. because your your hair seems very healthy to show the difference between products.. much love ❣

Camilo Cotto: I found you at 1am this morning it’s 10am & I’m back watching your videos! I have super curly natural hair I absolutely never liked it so I would go to the Dominicans every 2 weeks faithfully but lately I’ve been researching to find the perfect products it gets soooo dry so quickly & it shrinks fast. I find it amazing how it curls up perfectly still!

Rieces Weirder: Hey Mell! Thank you soooo much for helping me with my 3A curls. Both parents are straight haired and I've never known how to deal with it. I do have a wee question for you if it's OK. How do we deal with wind and curls? Do I have to tie my hair up all the time to stop the frizz? A little bit of info: I live in Scotland so non windy days are a rarity here (we also have alot of rain). I've tried ultra hold/strong gel and mousse (and together) and I still come out looking like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards. I really don't want to live indoors or be out with a hat on all the time. Thank you so much in advance

Ylva Nilsson: I’m so frickin excited! This entire week has been going so slow leading up to the next texture Tuesday

Anissa Amelia: I love the hairtage by mindy curl cream and leave in but both need a gel or a mousse on top to create hold for sure!! The curl cream does better in humidity where as the leave in is a mess in humidity because of the glycerin

Emily: Thank you for this review! I especially appreciate how you talk about the scents. You don’t just say it’s good or bad, but what & how strong. That helps someone like me who is very fragrance sensitive.

Chey Beauty: Enjoyed watching this, I have to check out that Monday line. I just got the Shea moisture manuka honey and yogurt line, and it's the best smell of all the product smells I've ever smelled...if that makes since. My hair feels amazing!!!

Sharon Chancey: I tried the twist products today and love how soft my hair is. Everything about them I love. While blow drying I did have lots of wispy hairs blowing around and after dry lots of lil frizzy. Did I not use enough gel or should I also use my regular gel. Thx for this video

Sunflower Baby: You always try all types of products. That is fantastic. You also say often that you do not prefer drugstore products. What is the difference between drugstore and non drugstore versions. What sets them apart? How can we tell if something is worth the extra money? Thanks for all the hard work you guys do. ☺

Mary Roseberry Stringham: I’m so grateful I found you! You gave me the courage to try a Denman brush on my 3C curls and I have to say, I’m blown away!!! Life changing.

Shay: U should totally try the twist gel. I use it with the cream and get great results

Minna Uyeda: Lol, the smell test cracks me up......I’m all about a lighter fresh scent. Even though there is no room in shower and my vanity looks like a hair product aisle at the store, I am getting the Monday shampoo and conditioner and Twist products.

JuDean Howerton: Try the Hairitage "to the max" maximum hold styling gel. Holy Cow did it work on my hair!

Hilda Figueroa: I just purchased 5 items of Twist, hopefully it will make my frizzy crazy curls good. Love all your videos.

Flor Delgado: Never a dull day... ❤ (Or video... ☺) We, dyed hair curls...gel is a must! But I will add, your hair was quite nice in this "experiment" I was surprised. You may have bleached hair, but it's one of the most taken care of 100%. CONGRATS!

Leigh: Ooo, my hair LOVES Ouidad! The Define & Shine Cream Gel is my favorite. I'm super excited to try Twist!

Ashley Vardy: Twist looks amazing and I like that the scent is on the lighter side

Sunshine ☀️: I love your bloopers so funny thanks for the review ladies

carmen banks: oooo on my way to the store now can wait to try some of the twist products thank you mell!!!

Caryn Weber: Your videos have been like the bible for me!!!! I love watching and learning something new!!! Have you tried Curly Potion by Oway? I'd love to see a review for this!!! My stylist in FL used it on my and I loved it!

Mrs Press: I tried Quidad years ago and hated the results, they were way to heavy for my hair...I looked like I put jerry curl in my hair...no thank you. I might try the twist though, they seem a little lighter.

Coco Hatab: I might be in the vast minority but I HATED the Twist line. I sadly bought into the hype to such an extent that I bought most of the line when my product stash ran out and I hated alllll of it. The shampoos made my hair SO DRY AND SQUEAKY, and the conditioners and deep conditioners did NOTHING. The stylers added no moisture or definiton to my 3c hairs. And bc I spent over 100 dollars, I gave them so many chances. I tried the conditioners without the sulfate containing shampoo: no moisture. I tried both wash products again: Still sad, squeaky, and dry. I used the stylers for three or four straight wash days, hoping that I was just doing something wrong: Still did nothing. I even gave some to my mother, who has 2b/2c hair, and she hated them too! Even the dry oil, dry shampoo, and sprays were just ehh, bleh and not worth my time. The only thing that was somewhat redeemable was the gel that comes in a white bottle, which works nicely for my mom's hair. Everything else, and I said everything, is in my product graveyard. Whenever someone uses them and has a good experience with them, I can't help thinking "Where were those actually effective products, bc I didn't get them!".

Diane Bazaldua: Both sides look really great. Would you & your sister make a video on "Easy Curly Hairstyles" to wear for work or summer parties? Please

Ethereal: Loved this!!! Thank you for this Also, would you say the Aussie curl shampoo is good, Mell? I’ve always wanted to try it ☺️

Leslie’s Mature Makeup & Beauty: That hairitage line is so heavily fragranced and I don’t normally mind a little fragrance. It was too baby or my hair to…I have fine hair. May give the twist line a try. Thanks for sharing!

Elisa Sauerland: I am getting the craziest cast...all the time. No matter which gel I'm using. Any tips how I can avoid it? I really love having a cast but sometimes I prefer not having too hard of a cast. And just a cream is not enough for my wavy texture. Love you Mel. You're my go to for ever when it comes to hair and humor hehe❤️

Mariella Olano: I enjoy the Monday shampoos and conditioners. I use the ones for volume.

Bonnie Emile: Do you feel the Monday products were good and not drying on your scalp? I’m still looking for a shampoo and conditioner that doesn’t make my scalp itchy. I’m also excited to try the Twist products! They seem to be the best choice.

Tara Southwell: My whole family has fallen in love with Twist. We really enjoy Curlsmith, but the prices aren't reasonable for us (I have three kids with textured hair). Not only is Twist more affordable, their line has products that work for all of us and the scents are not only mild, they're unisex! I recommend them to everyone I know!

Jennifer Nault: Thank you for this! I’ll be trying Monday! Have you tried the Twist shampoo and conditioner yet??

Moo: I've been watching all your videos to try and figure out what's wrong with my hair/how to fix it, but I'm stuck. This is *extremely gross* but I went without washing or caring for my hair for about 8 months last year, anyway I've since washed and deep conditioned it multiple times, but it's just extremely dry and brittle and frizzy & looses it's texture no matter what I do :( :(

Jenn Leah: I LOVE that hairitage finishing oil/serum! My hair does well with argan oil & silicones though I also like their ACV rinse, because I hate making my own! The cream is too heavy for my curls though. So far I've used the white bottle of "Weather proof" Twist gel and quite honestly, it sucked big time in this FL heat.

Brief little candle: At first the Hairitage side looked better but then three days later… plot Twist, the other side held up better. Show us your results with Twist gel! And maybe a different leave in from Twist.

Cindy Witty: I love the Twist hair gel. It’s my everyday gel. Because it’s made by Ouidad, it’s very similar to Ouidad Curl Shaper™ Out Of Thin (H)air Volumizing Jelly~ You definitely need to try it. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. I’m going to definitely try the curl creme. Thanks for reiterating Why I like the Monday shampoo ~

Sandy Leatherman: Thanks for sharing. I love your videos because they are so helpful. I am unable to find a curl specialist in Oklahoma. So your videos really help me out. Also I used your Twist code to purchase the weather up gel.

Ahmed Said: I'm a guy with long curly (3A) hair and I'm getting into hair care/styling more and I feel like she would be the best older sister ever

taty !: hi mel!! loved the video!! a video suggestion if you’re interested could you do a twist out tutorial? ☺️

jnorth9702: Thank you for my curly wavy hair journey advice! You’re very much appreciated.

Carsyn Brooks: Hairtage now has a dry shampoo for burnets and dark hair now. I have it and it comes out looking brown instead of white

Yarielis Roca: The videos she dose helps me so much with taking care of my curley hair

Anya: Have you looked into people having their scalp react to Monday hair care? There have been really bad reviews in New Zealand and Australia and the brand was at some point struggling due to the backlash I’ve seen some horror stories of hair dressers bleaching their clients hair and it ending up as a disaster as it all melted. @mondayhsircarerevealed the person who run this page was silenced by Monday so she doesn’t post anymore but I would love your take on this

Ruth Kuder: I'll take that martini! Cheers to Texture Tuesday! ❤️

ilanalovesorcas: I absolutely adore your knowledge and explanations on specific ingredients.
