Hi everybody and welcome back to my channel, obviously i'm not in my normal location for filming. I am on a beach holiday with my family for around seven days. So i thought today was the perfect opportunity to finally do a beach care routine. Slash like a summer. Curly care routine. Today, i'm going to give you five tips to take care of your hair at the beach and to keep as much moisture and hydration in your hair as possible. We don't want dry, curls, so yeah. These are my five tips to just keep healthy curls throughout your beach holiday. This can also work really well, if you're someone who lives by the beach and who is in the beach every single day, it's obvious that salt and sun can really dry out your curls. So today i'm focusing on moisture and hydration and i apologize, i say, moisture and hydration a million times, but that is really the main point of this whole video. This is what my hair looks like and also something to remember guys. Your hair isn't going to look as defined or as voluminous as possible with this routine is going to be hydrated and it's going to be moisturized and it's going to be healthy, yeah, let's hop into the five tips. So let's talk about tip number one, which has everything to do with washing your hair and shampoo and conditioner. I personally need to wash my hair after the beach every time i go in so we're on like a seven day holiday. I will pretty much wash my hair every single day because i think it's super important to get any salt out of your hair. This salt will just dry it out, so you want to get it out and you want to hydrate. It intensely definitely use shampoo every day, but you can use a co wash if you want something less harsh. I use shampoo and conditioner every day in the shower after the beach and the products i use are from function of beauty. If you don't know what function of beauty is you should, if you've watched my channel for a while, you definitely should know what it is. I'Ve been using function of beauty for probably two years now and i absolutely love their products. They are customizable, shampoo and conditioners, and they do have other products too, but i love the shampoo and conditioner. It is so easy to customize your own. All you do is take a two minute quiz and i'm going to take one right now with you just to show you um the goals i picked for my hair and what i wanted, the shampoo and conditioner to do for my specific hair type. So, to start, i picked my natural hair type, which is curly and hair structure, which is medium. It'S not extremely fine, but it isn't extremely coarse for scalp moisture. I picked balanced now when i selected up to five hair goals. I am particularly focusing on moisture, so i'm clicking fix, split ends, moisturize rejuvenate curl definition and for the last one i picked antifreeze now you can also choose to select a silicone free formula, which is great. If you follow the curly girl method. I clicked um a silicone free formula this time around. I picked the nude peach scent and it smells so good. My sister just asked me what i used and because she absolutely loved the smell, but it's so refreshing and like perfect for summer. I also love this because you can customize the bottle and even the name on the bottle. I normally go with jamie joe, like my name, but i thought i would do something different this time around and i did curly cutie and then here we go totally cute. I think this is just the cutest thing. Functional beauty is also 100 paraben, free, sulfate, free cruelty, free and vegan. I have a 20 off a link for you, guys below, which is going to get you 20 off your first 16 ounce order. All you got to do is click the link and subscribe and try out functional beauty. Let me know if you guys, like it tip number two, is also to deep condition every single day after the beach. This may seem excessive, but it's going to really just help to keep your curls healthy and hydrated, which is the main aim of the game. I just started using this bounce curl deep conditioner with weightless what, anyway, it's got really good ingredients and i love the smell of this. It'S really good. I just put it on in the shower for around three minutes. While i do other things whatever else, i need to do, and just that extra time and that extra moisture is really going to make such a big difference. So that's tip number two, every single day after the beach. Okay, guys now we're up to step four. With this tip, i would recommend only using a cream or a leave-in milk, something super hydrating or even like a serum or an oil. I'M gon na opt for the curl styling milk from curly girl movement. This is really good because it is super hydrating and nourishing. Basically, it says it defines and nourishes your curls um, it's also not too heavy and not too thick, which obviously, for my hair type is perfect. We don't want to add anything to textured or anything. That'S going to take away moisture and with that this is literally the only styling product i'm going to be using i'm going to be avoiding any gels or mousses, because some of them can have alkaline in them, and some of them can tend to be quite drying. As well, we want to avoid as much drying out as possible since we've been in salt all day, so just focus on hydrating products, especially on those ends. This does mean you won't have as much hold or volume as normal, but i think it is way more important to prioritize just keeping hydration and moisture in your hair. Now i'm just going to use my deadman to brush this through. This is not a crazy styling. Routine, this is literally the only two steps, so the curl styling milk or a cream or a leave-in or something super hydrating, i'm going to give it a little bit of a shake and a scratch. This was actually the third tip. I got that confused for my fourth tip. We are going to avoid diffusing just to avoid any heat damage or further dryness added to the hair. If you diffuse on a very cool setting, you'll be completely fine, but i just prefer on holidays, to give my hair a little bit of a break from the diffuser and air dry, my hair. I think this is a really good option, just to keep as much moisture locked into your hair as possible. Just because your hair has been in salt all day. It will dry, naturally quicker on its own anyway. So there's no point also a big reason. I don't focus on crazy. Styling is because i'm going to swim the next day anyway, my hair doesn't have to look perfect. It just needs to stay hydrated so that it can stay as healthy as possible. So i'm going to air dry, my hair i'll, show you what it looks like in a few hours when it's dry. Now, i'm going to show you my fifth tip, which is actually what to do at the beach i'm gon na overlay, a little video of me at the beach earlier today, and what i recommend is packing a brush and a cream or a curling product. It could be the same as your styling, but i like to keep them separate because it can get a little sandy on the beach so something um hydrating like an oil, a serum, a cream, a leave-in conditioner. Take that to the beach it doesn't have to be a super incredible product, but it's just going to have the use of detangling your hair on the beach. I took my wet tangle teaser with me today. What i like to do, because, as soon as i get in the water, my hair almost becomes matted, it becomes so dry and so knotty. So what i like to do on the beach is actually just apply some of the product into my hands rake it through. My hair and then detangle my hair on the beach. This is going to save you so much time in the shower when it comes to detangling, i'm going to avoid as many knots as possible, and i get a lot in the back of my hair and they literally become matted like little dreadlocks. So we want to avoid that as much as possible, because when you detangle later, you will rip a lot of hair out. So, by doing this on the beach you're just going to save time - and it's going to be so much more comfortable, much more silky and smooth in the water and outside of the water, so that's just a little tip me and jessie do always without fail. I have to bring a brush and a styling product or a cream to the beach um, otherwise, i'm sitting in the shower for 40 minutes that night detangling. So guys this is the end result. I tried to air dry as much as possible, but i wanted to finish this video, so i quickly diffused at the end. This is what it looks like it's very soft, which is good so guys. Thank you so much for watching today's video and if you think these five tips helped you subscribe and comment in the comment section below and don't forget that i have a 20 off link for functional beauty. If you want to try that for the first time, i'm so glad i finally got around to filming this video, i feel like it's been years in the making, because i am at the beach pretty much most summers - and i know a lot of you guys are Too so yeah, these are my five tips and i hope they helped. I will see you back for more videos very soon, bye, guys,
