What'S good, everybody welcome back to yet another review of a tutorial that you want me to do unless you live under a rock you, don't use tick, tock or maybe you're, just new to wearing your hair, curly wavy coily and you don't even know who i am Well, hi, i am your main girl mel, i'm a professionally trained hairstylist, a curly hair specialist, your curly hair guru, and so many of you wanted me to try the viral bowl method as seen on tick tock. But we got ta, bring it back for a minute, because this technique is not new. The bowl method is a styling technique using a bowl which, in turn, is to add maximum hydration to your hair, as well as dilute your styling products. So you get maximum volume as well, but the reason why i am inclined to do this today is because so many of you personally tagged me in curly, zia's, post now, curly zia is a tick talker. She went mega viral sharing this technique. How it looks with her curls, which are a little bit more like waves, wavy curls, and so today we're going to see what that does to me. So without further ado, i want to take you through my curly hair routine here my interpretation of this technique and if i really think that it works or if you should do it, so, let's just get to it. My hair is currently in this. What people call a wet, plop uh, it's just with my conditioner in this shower cap marinating. If you will, because i did begin with a wash and condition once again, the bowl method is to give you maximum hydration to the hair, but maximum hydration is going to come if your hair is clean. So after a thorough shampoo, i use the conditioner that hasn't launched yet just to share a little sneak peek behind the scenes. This is currently something that i am testing. It'S been a rough week. I hadn't washed my hair for about six or seven days, so it was super super knotted and after detangling. I also went ahead and rinsed out this mask, which is not what you're supposed to do when doing the bowl method. You'Re supposed to apply your conditioner to your ends, work it through and then continue with the bowl method, basically leaving in some of your regular conditioner, which is not something that i like to do. Not something that you necessarily should do, especially if you're using a rinse out conditioner. There is a reason why there are different products for a rinse out conditioner and a leave-in conditioner, and we did a whole video on that and different types of conditioners previously, which i will link up here. If you want to check it out. But basically sometimes there are ingredients in a rental conditioner that are not meant to be left in. So if your product says rinse out thoroughly, i would recommend rinsing out thoroughly. So after i tried out that mask, i did go in with a bounce, curl, deep conditioner and that's where we are right now. So, let's bog in bolgan so finally step one of the bowl method. God will you just get right to it? This is what we're going to start with we're going to fill a cup a jug or whatever with water. Mine is warm, because i don't. I don't like to rinse my hair with cold water. It'S not like it's going to seal my cuticle any better. The only thing that can help to tighten your strand and the cuticle and prevent swelling of the cuticle is not your water temperature. It'S the or the ph that was kind of disturbing we're going to be upside down for an extended period of time, leaning over your bowl. You want to take your water and pour it over your head. Pour it starting at your scalps. Are you oh yeah? It'S a messy one. You want to make sure that you are over the bowl and that you're catching all of that water that you are pouring since this is how you are rinsing out your product. You really want to make sure that you're rinsing any conditioner that might be left on your scalp, but that's because it's a conditioner for my hair and not my scalp care. So do it feels right for you, with whatever you're using so now we squish now you're supposed to do this until you can't see any frizz if there is still frizz, they say to add more conditioners, i'm going to add leave-in conditioner, because again, this is being Left in so you're supposed to do this about four times or so until you see just really nice big clumps that you're happy with what i'm noticing is well, there's still frizz. It seems no matter how many times i try to do this. There is frizz, but i believe that's because my hair is very high porosity. What this is doing is, as you are squishing, to condition it's helping to kind of drive moisture into your strands. I don't have any trouble with that. My strands already absorb moisture as i give it to them, and so i feel like this is just making my strands a little, maybe over moisturized soft but also frizzy. I mean and let me rephrase that not that the technique itself is making my hair frizzy, but i do feel like my strands, have this floofiness to them. They look very plumped. I mean we're just gon na keep going. I feel like the curls at this stage. Are as good as they're going to get doing this technique, so i can now dump out this water. Look how cloudy it is from the conditioner. I actually feel like it's also a little bit pink from the pink i've been putting in my hair and now to my soaking wet hair. I will add the gel and continue with this squishing squashing situation. I am going to apply it generously with the gel, because my hair is soaking wet, as i am applying it's really going to dilute it, and i want to make sure that i'm going to get enough hold. So i i'm going to gently glaze this over my strands, and this is just going to make sure that everything is pretty evenly coated before i continue to squish out all of the excess water. I'M going to do one last dip a little bit of water. That'S in the bowl for good luck, give her a scrunch and that's the bowl method. I'M gon na finish, scrunching it with my microfiber towel. That'S going to help to absorb most of the water as well. I'Ve already tried to squish out the excess, but this is going to absorb the excess and now i'm going to cover diffuse. That'S my technique that i like to use, and i've shown you because i can't stand to have this hair wet any longer. But as per the method, you can plop air dry, whatever it takes to get your hair dry in the fastest way possible, so that we can reveal the results. One more thing, though, because there's so little product in my hair right now. At this point, we've diluted the crap out of it. I want to make sure that i'm gon na get enough hold i'm gon na spritz on a little bit of hairspray, while the hair is still wet. That feels a little bit better. So these are my freshly dry results from the bowl without scrunching out the crunch, which, if it wasn't for that little hairspray spray, i'm sure there would not be much of so. I'M really glad that i put that in so let's go ahead and finish it off with my oil or serum i'm using the verb ghost oil i'm going to take that serum. I especially like this serum because it is lightweight. I'M excited to see how much volume is in here, but i also need this serum it's thicker than your typical, like lightweight hair oil. I also need this to help seal because there's a lot of squishing and upwards motion, so i just kind of want to slick everything down if that's possible. Okay, let's get a good look at it. Let'S do some reviewing first impressions. How do my curls feel they definitely feel soft? They don't feel like they have a lot of product on them. They don't and while i do have decent volume, it's okay, it's still fresh day. One hair. I do get an elongated vibe from my curls. Now i've seen some people say that this has made their hair appear curlier and for wavies. I may see that to be true, but for me on a tighter texture, i am noticing more weight to the curls they're, looking plumped, but also elongated. So that's one thing. Otherwise, i don't notice a huge difference in the way my curls look compared to when i brush style on wet damp hair, which is what i usually do very different from this technique. And so i am surprised that i don't notice a huge, huge difference in the curls which to me means i can get a similar result without having to go through the trouble of using a bowl. So that's just a plus one for me and my back, but does that mean that this technique is bad? Although i can only speak from personal experience here, i can talk to you a little bit about hair science, and that is our hair does not necessarily need lots of water. Water is actually not good for hair. Our hair, when it is healthy, is naturally hydrophobic. It'S against water and that's why, with low porosity textures that find the hair can be very brittle and resistant to water. This whole bowl and squishing to conditioning method is going to help kind of drive water into the strands which will give a fluffier plumper result to your curls and that maximum hydration that you might be looking for. But for me - and maybe you if your hair is high porosity if you're color treated you're damaged, i don't think that this is going to be the best technique for you to continue to do because the more water that your hair is exposed to the more damage. It'S going to become over time. This technique may leave you with more frizzies. More split ends, things that are results of hydro fatigue and moisture overload, and so, if you like the results that it gives you i think, go for it go ahead, do it as needed, but i personally would not recommend this for regular use. However, on the plus side, this whole method was developed in order to help reduce your water waste, which is a great thing instead of using lots of water, if you're, taking really long showers and squishing to conditioning in that way, always make sure that you turn your Water off, while you are scrubbing your hair and also while you are detangling your hair and don't be shy or scared to try the bowl method. I predicted that it wasn't going to work well for me that my hair wasn't going to look that good and that it was a technique only for really wavies. But i've seen some comments under other videos that it also works for tight textures as well. So if you decide to give it a try, i'll put those resources that you can look more into this technique in the description box below i'll link. All the products that i use in the description box below and you never know what styling technique we're going to. Try next it's whatever that you request. So if you have some requests comments below or tag me as you see them, i am on tick tock at means by mouth same username, on instagram at maine's by mel, i'm even on pinterest. That means by now. So i will see you all over the interwebs, but especially each and every texture, tuesday, until next week this has been humane girl, mel and i am out peace. What'S good everybody, i don't even we're just we're back at it again with yet another viral trending review of a tutorial of a thing that you want me to do. Why are you sitting there staring at me? It'S really it's real! You got ta! Go! Why don't you come around and let everyone see what you look like: don't look what okay bye crackerjacker get out of here you little rascal

Erin: Hi Mell, I was wondering if you could do a video on trying out shampoo and conditioner bars for us curlies who are trying to switch to a sustainable lifestyle. I know that a brand called Ethique has made shampoo and conditioner bars especially for curly hair so would be interested on hearing your thoughts ♥️♥️

Tiffany Bartholomew: I got my haircut yesterday and I was talking to my stylist about you Mel and she was so impressed with my hair protection techniques and knowledge from you. Thank you for making me feel smarter and more confident in my hair needs.

Maha S: The neck pain is not worth it ✋ it’s the neck problems for me HAPPY TEXTURE TUESDAY MY LOVES ✨ and a special congrats to our fav curly seester (and fav person in general) AMANDAAAA ♥️♥️

daftoptimist: I have a very loose curl pattern, more like waves, and I used to do this — albeit in the shower, upside down, using my shower cap as a “bowl”. It worked pretty well for me, but I always thoroughly rinsed my rinse-out conditioner first. But as always with upside-down styling, you HAVE to make sure you’re lifting your roots from your scalp when you’re putting on leave-in, so you don’t get a weird birds nest in the back of your head.

Cynthia Viola: It’s the detailed, scientify explanations for me!! Okay, it’s all for me. But learning a little of the science behind hair and how to care for it has really changed my approach to my curls. Love you girls and everything you do! And CONGRATS Amanda!!♥️♥️ @GeauxRunner

Destinee Harvey: By the way, we are so spoiled with the seesters never missing a texture Tuesday! With busy holidays, Amanda’s fun and exciting new chapter, we appreciate you both!

nyx: i have looser curls, and tbh ive been using this method for a long time and it is the best technique i came across. it leaves my waves/curls in nice, big, juicy clums and looking better than ever!

Claudia Fernandez: I just think this “bowl method” is a huge waste of time and adds pain in your neck . I love you Mel btw you explain amazing

MissLeeW: My neck hurts just watching this! Lol! Looks like way too much effort for me so I’m glad to hear that brush styling has basically the same effect. Happy Holidays Mel and Amanda! Thank you for the awesome videos this year! @leetheresawarden

Laura Codd: This just seems like a lot of extra work, and would add extra time to the drying process. My hair already takes a long time to dry. Thank you for explaining this whole process. I have a question for you, is it best to layer long hair to bring out more curl? My hair just kind of goes flat the longer it gets no matter what products I use. Thanks

Sandra Amin: Hi Mell! Thank you for making this video! I am still on my curly rehab journey! I am still working on getting more definition and less frizz! There is a lot for me to learn and I am so thankful for you and Amanda’s videos that are truly helping me and teaching me to love my curls!

Yesenia Romero: Hey Mel ‍♀️ Congratulations on Amanda's !! You can see my curl type from my hauls. You had helped me so much. I have been 8 months on my curly hair journey.

Lauren: Hi Mell and Amanda!! Thank you for all of your incredibly hard work this year ❤️ it certainly doesn’t go unnoticed. Following your recommendations has completely transformed my hair and started my journey of embracing my natural appearance. This has been life changing! I cannot thank you enough!

Amy: My hair is 3a/3b, fine, low-medium density and low porosity and the bowl method gives me the best results of all the styling methods I've tried (and I've tried basically all of them ). My hair is so fine that it doesn't like to hold together in clumps, and tends to look stringy and get stretched out and frizzy unless I get really good clumps, and the bowl method is the best for clumping! I also turn my head and dip it side to side too to make sure I'm getting the back sorted out :)

Abigail Sterns: Hey Amanda and mell. I know this time is a lot for you guys but I love and appreciate how much effort you both put into providing videos and information for us. Congratulations Amanda, it is very exciting to be engaged as I was proposed to this year also and that you have your own house too.

Miss Kasha: I am 2months postpartum .. the struggle of new mom daily tasks & keeping a healthy hair routine.. you have literally saved my hair with your tutorials! So simple. I am so thankful❣️ Happy Holidays!!

Samantha Applewhaite: I'm sooo happy I have you two to get the best curly hair tips! I love the product reviews...especially the drug store brands. Keep them coming! More winter prep videos would be soo great. I'm also a curly Canadian trying to survive these crazy ass winters! @samapple1

snowflakes215: Mell's hair would look good even if she fell into a muddy puddle. Girl can't do anything to make it look bad!

Omayra Noriega: Love your explanation of long term use! My hair would take years to dry with this method even with diffusing

Katherine Elizabeth: Thank youuuu for texture Tuesday, you guys have helped me transform and appreciate my curls :) also congrats Amanda!

Lucyn S.: I have very short, tight, curly hair. I tried the bowl method and loved the way my hair came out, once it dried. I won't do it all the time, but I got positive results. Ever since I started following you, my hair looks better and healthier. Thank you for all the great info and ideas.

Clair Hignight: I have done bowl method a couple of times and really love it. I don’t use conditioner in the shower, though because it just over moisturizes me. I use this technique for the leave in and gel steps. I do use a really protein heavy leave in though so all the squishing and water doesn’t seem to over hydrate. I find the bowl method just helps me distribute product really well and get the perfect sized clumps. It also helps my gel get deeper in my hair and give me longer lasting hold. For reference, I’ve got 2C/3A, high porosity, virgin, fine, med to high density hair.

zulma lopez: Hi Mell and Amanda!!!!! I soooo love you curlys girls! Helped me throughout these past 2 years and I have to say your different routines and different curly products for seasons that you recommend are sooo amazing!!! You guys are always on the next curly method move lol and it helps me along the way!!!! Thank you girls!

Valeria Gaucín: Thank you for doing this! Love the bloopers Happy texture Tuesday! And congratulations to Amanda! @guessthisme

Elena Solares: Love all your content!❤ Thanks to you I've embraced my curls. I've learned so much. Really appreciate these reviews. You and Amanda are the best!!!

Deanna: Happy Texture Tuesday!! Congrats Amanda!! I always wanted to try this but thought it's too time consuming. Happy holidays!! Much love and happiness!! Xoxo

Amelia Smith: Great Texture Tuesday video, as always. Thank you for talking us through this and explaining it for us, Mell. I don’t think I have the time or the patience for this. And congratulations, Amanda! @agsmithms

jessi: the thing is i've been doing my hair like this for years by like doing this in the tub - I have wavy/curly hair and it works great for me, but I don't get the hype over this trend because it's just not a novel idea or method

Angeli Dr: Love the videos!! Thanks for doing all the research from curly hair girly

Kim Losch: Hi Mel! Love your videos!! Sort of tried this method in hopes of reducing halo frizz but didn’t get the desired results. Looking forward to hearing your take on it.

Christina: Yay for Texture Tuesday! Thank you, Mell & Amanda! (Loved the cameo at the end!)

Farah Kianipour: Happy texture Tuesday ✨✨ thanks for being so honest on this trend, seriously my hair would never dry with this method! Thank you seesters for your videos ❤️

Elizabeth Grego: Thanks for the video. I was quite skeptical about the bowl method, but I appreciated the tips on saving water. Thanks for all the work on keeping up with Texture Tuesdays!! And congrats, Amanda. So happy and thankful for you both!! @LizzeeGrego

Lynzi Collins: Happy texture Tuesday!! Wow Amanda editing queen making sure there was a video!! And big congratulations again!! I hope you all have the best Christmas, thank you so much for everything you both do ❤️❤️❤️

Jade J: Thanks for this girls! Mell, what do you think of ‘squishing to condish’ anyway? I’m wondering if my aim to try to do it in the shower is why I’ve noticed more split ends.

lucy rebecca: As someone with dry, low porosity hair this technique was my saviour for a while, but my hair very quickly went from moisturised and shiny to water logged and damaged. It took alot of work to undo. I wouldn't recommend people do this method as part of their routine as you said the water is not good for your hair

Zoé Rosado: Hi Mell! Happy Texture Tuesday. I've been following you for a while and I've learned so much. I have a question. I live at a tropical place. Therefore, it is VERY humid. I've followed your advice about using silicones to fight humidity. It works and I keep my scalp clean washing my hair as much as I need to in this weather. I sleep with a bonnet too, to protect my curls at night. However, I've tried to make my curls last for more that 3 days. Is it normal that I just CAN'T do that in this weather? Like...by the fourth day I have my curls but they're already frizzy due to humidity...and by then, I've sweated so much that I rather wash my hair than refresh. I'd love to read you on this! God bless you always and thank you for all your content!

Potter Nomies: Hey, Mell I am just starting my curly hair Journey but I have noticed that my hair at the very back sucks up water like a sponge and is really frizzy, I want to know why this might be happening and how to fix it. Keep doing what you're doing and thank you so much for reading this long comment of mine

Noor Salman: Congrats Amanda! Thanks for this video, was curious about this method since my hair is super dry but honestly it already takes me an hour to do my hair i cant risk the neck pain too super fun to watch though

chantelle mclean: Texture Tuesday I am so happy for everything that is coming up this year. Your sister's engagement and Christmas. Love you both ❤

Erika Martinez: It worked amazing for me my curls have never been more defined, soft and volouminous ‍♀️

Molly F: You are such a good sport to subject you and your hair to the whim of TicTok. Never miss an episode of Texture Tuesday. Thank you!

Rakel Chacra: My hair has been very dry lately and I was thinking since 2 weeks ago, doing the bowl method, but didn't know if it was a good idea. And! You come up with all the answers thank you both for helping the curly community like this! And then I watched the 15 reason we have bad hair days, super helpful!! Happy holidays girls!! ☃️

Dakota Budimlic: Love texture Tuesday! You’ve helped me so much with getting my hair healthy and starting to see my curls come back after being so damaged! Thank you so much for helping my curls come back I owe it all to you!❤️

Rashel Chavez: Hey Mell loved the video thanks for so many tips for curly hair

Dear.Delaney: I tried it this week and really loved the results, but I also have fine more wavy/curly hair so maybe that's why. I was wondering what your opinion was on this! Thanks for sharing!!

Derya Dingaz: After getting most of the damaged parts of my hair cut, my hair started to act differently. It is high porosity and always needed moisture. But now that it looks healthier, my old routine doesn't work and no matter what I do, it is too soft and doesn't hold its shape. I am completely lost on my curly hair journey now :/

Heba Maher: I was actually considering starting with the bowl method when I started my curly hair transition last year after watching so many videos that swore the bowl method was a necessity in your wash day routine BUT I just wasn’t…. convinced? I also hate this upside down washing cause it doesn’t really rinse my hair and I dislike the feeling of feeling product in my hair after I finish my shower I just feel I could achieve so much better results using other techniques and still have my hair perfectly moisturized and hydrated. But THANK YOU AND THANKS TO AMANDA FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO I love learning from you and I always look forward to watching your videos

Terri B: I'm in my 50s and we done this method years ago! I love ya Mel...you're my curly girl goddess!!

Lori Keiser: Thanks for always trying out new techniques and sharing your experiences. It is so helpful to hear your perspective and to learn from you. From a wavy, thank you! I love watching you and seester and all that you do. ❤️ @lorijeanne80

Kassie Greeley: Merry Christmas seesters!! Thanks for showing me another styling method! I'm going to have to give it a try. Huge congratulations to Amanda on all her exciting news! I can't wait to see more updates, especially home ones! So exciting! @kassieegee

Estefania Fernandez de Jauregui: Yay congrats to Amanda!! Love both of u. You have made my curly journey so easy

Tracy Thomas: I tried this about a year ago. I have low porosity hair (and a tight curl pattern). The results were okay, however, I found it to be a pain. I much prefer just doing my normal routine in the shower, then adding products to my very damp hair afterward.

Kayla Power: You have really helped me with understanding my curls better and all that needs to go into having them look/feel healthy, opposed to walking around as a frizz-ball ❤️ @canadianbae

Estefana Diaz: Hey Mel! I have 3a-3b curls, whatever that means :) will totally be trying this. My hair needs moisture so maybe works for me.

Uncommon RD: This was such a great video! Thank you for shedding some light on this bowl method. Your curls are giving all that needs to be gave!! lol PS do you have a video on how to get more elongated curls and avoid that shrinkage we get from washing/styling?

Naomi Guerrero: Just started watching your videos with my 14 year old daughter. You keep us giggling for sure! Love all your knowledge about curly hair! Keep up the great content! Much from Texas.

Sharon Siegel: Love your videos you make. You make everything fun. Congratulations on Amanda’s engagement. My hair is very fine and thin and medium porosity and I try a lot of your tips.

Artsy Pineapple: Mell I hope you can help me!! I’ve been wondering about doing this method so this video came just in time. I have long hair, about mid-back in length. It’s thin but coarse. It’s not color treated and I don’t use any heat tools other than a diffuser. I also just recently trimmed my hair! My biggest problems are that my underneath layers and my face framing layers absolutely WILL NOT hold a curl unless I finger roll them and clip them in place, but then they’re all much shorter than the rest of my hair (and I won’t finger roll my whole head ) I f I don’t finger roll my underneath layers, it looks like the longest parts of my hair are scraggly and too long. ALSO, I can’t figure out how to style my crown so that it doesn’t show my part! Like I said my hair is coarse, but there’s not much of it so my part is really visible. No matter how much water I add my hair gets stringy and won’t clump in the face framing/crown layers. I tried doing what you did for your seester in a video, where you brush styled the crown sections up and back and let them fall so they’d create a natural ‘faux’ part, but when I try to do it, the hair doesn’t fall right and my roots get to looking kind birds-nesty I almost cried the last time I tried to style my hair I’m sorry this is so long, but if anyone can help me I know it’s you!

Lupe Hernandez: Love your science talks of your videos thanks for all the tips and videos that you and your seester do!! You have helped me embrace my curls

Fanny Torres: Thank you for experiementing and trying these new viral techniques so we don’t have to Lol, but in all honestly I have learned so much from your videos. Keep up the great content.

Nydia vargas: I am so glad that I found you this summer you have really taught me how to take care of my curls and my curls gotten so much better i’ve also followed your sister who I love both of you. I hope 2020 brings you many blessings of love and joy.

KCG 123: Your skin looks amazing Mell! I feel like this technique is too cumbersome! Thanks for reviewing it! @kygarner4

E G: Omg, thanks for reading my mind, I literally came on to ask you for your opinion on this! So many of the methods you use have helped transform my hair, I'm only a year and a half into my curly journey and your methods and ingredients suggestions have saved my curls! I tried the curly girl method first and although it helped, this helped so much more! Thank you! While I'm here I'd like to thank you and your sister for all your videos! Love, love, love them! ❤

Ivette Serrano: @iserrano514 Thanks Mel! Appreciate all of your tips. Your hair looked great but understand the definition part. I am still in the early stages of my curly hair journey. I noticed my hair has to be very wet when I apply the primer/leave in conditioner and gel for best results. Thanks for all you and your sister do!!

Trini: Thank you for trying a wavy method!! Love all your videos. We so need more wavy content. ❤️

Megan Dockery: Even with such a different styling method your hair still looks amazing!

Patricia Valentin: Thank you for trying things so that we don't necessarily have to‍♀️!!

Emily: This is why I wait for you to try these out before I do. Thanks for being someone we can trust.

axusis: When I started the cg method about 2~ish years ago I used the bowl method a lot and saw it being recommended as well for getting clumps and enough product in your hair. It did work for me (I have fine, 2a-2c hair), but I've changed my styling methods since so I haven't used it in a long time.

RR: Thanks, Mel. I love your channel, especially the science. This method may work, but I don't think I have the time or patience. If I were to try it though, I think I would just use my bathroom sink instead of a bowl.

Dana Greenlaw: I love the bowl method but I’m a 2b to 3a on a very good day. I find it helps with distribution of product. The water helps get it (product) into every curl.

Kate Cogs: Oh my, I have curl envy. My hair is dead straight and doesn’t hold a curl or wave at all Your hair is stunning ❤️

Gina Giovannetti: I tried this method many times and it worked but when i kept doing it my hair just felt really weighed down!!! glad to now know why… thanks mell!

Yasmine Shaw: I genuinely have struggled so much with my hair over the years and I cannot stress how much you and Amanda have changed my life. I used to stress and get frustrated my hair everyday. It used to be something I was really insecure with. The more I watch, the better it gets! I’m still struggling but I’ve gotten so far! This video is just giving me another thing to try. We’ll see what it does to the waves haha!

Ebony-Savannah Hudson: Mell!!!! Omg omg omg. Thank you for telling me about the whole “cold water rinse out conditioner”!!!!!!!! Thank you a million!!!!

Vanessa Roadstorm: @melinasoifer LOVE YOU MELL appreciate you and the way you explain things and how much you’ve taught me about my hair! From a fellow Mel and Canadian and congrats Amanda!

Krizia Valdes: Just started my curly journey, loving the tips & the bowl lol

Leyra Dyar: Thanks for doing this! I’m here watching this because we’re on our 8th week of no running water on Oahu. Some of military bases have jet fuel in the water. And guess what I asked for Xmas.. alllll the hair products and skincare products that a girl could dream of.. so here I am taking bucket showers and now doing bowl hair things the day I have running water, is the day I’ll feel like a brand new woman!

Rima Thakkar: happy texture tuesday!!! the definition looks GREAT!!!! i don’t think i would personally try this because my hair is longer and it would just be extremely time consuming overall plus the neck pain oh my goodness!!

Mysti Fett: I look forward to texture Tuesday's. It's exciting to see what the next video will be. There is something for everyone. All the different techniques and products have helped me since I found your channel. Thank you. ❤❤ @mystifett

Stephanie Duran: Mel your videos are so entertaining while super informative I love them! I also had this same effect no bowl method for me

cArrOt: This actually looks pretty good, still pretty volumized. I do something like this in the shower with my low porosity curls, but without the bowl.

Claudia Okyere-Fosu: Hey Mell, your curls look amazing no matter what you do I was getting a headache watching this method

Liliana Ramirez: I love all your videos. I even watch from when you first started and like every single one. Sometimes I even watch it more than once I pay close attention for when I start my curly hair journey.

The.Penthouse --- Barre: Hi Mel! Love This! ❤ I would love to know, could this technique be suitable for co-washing? My hair tends to be dry now it's cold (I'm in The UK) and I now find shampooing each time is too drying. The Maximum Hydration/conditioning looks ideal, but I'm just not sure?

Jax Card: Love the Seesters look forward to your texture Tuesdays and appreciate all the time & advice, thank you so much ❤️❤️

Ashlie’s Makeup Reviews: I love your personality and think your videos are super educational and fun to watch!!! Such an inspiration

Cristiana V.: Always look forward to texture Tuesdays! ❤

Erin: @spot_the_e I absolutely LOVE the ‘bloopers’ at the end of every video . I was wondering if you could do an updated video on damp vs. wet styling. My hair usually has to be very wet to get the best definition and I was wondering if I was doing something wrong?

Autumn Leaves: My hair likes the bowl method! Its curlpattern is 2C-3A and the continious "wetting and scrunching out all the water" results in more 3A curls and more volume. Afterwards I hover-diffuse (no scrunching with diffuser)

S Z: I did the bowl method for 2.5 years - worked great on my hair but gave me severe neck problems.

Shannon Proffitt: I would give my left arm for you to be local and could help me figure out my curly hair daily routine! I just at 40 started embracing my curls and stopped trying to straighten it all the time but I can't get the daily routine down to something manageable! so either I look like literal death or I spend 16 hours and having amazing hair for 1 day there is no in between

Jp: I have wavy/curly hair and I feel like it’s just had horrible dryness and split ends recently. Ive been trying some new techniques and products, so I’m gonna try this and update y’all soon :)

Allison Jaye TV: Imagine washing fine silk with water every day. This is why I do not wet my hair every day to refresh it like so many ppl resort to. Also I think this method wastes a lot of product. Its added and then winds up in the bowl..not something I'd do.

Marlene Miller: I'd love to see you try using dry shampoo on a refresh. Many curlies do this, but I've no idea if it works or not.

Shayla Dean : I love this method for my loose wavy curly hair ❤️

Nicole Silah: Personally as a low porosity 2b-2c the bowl method does help get tighter curlies and sometimes even better ringlets (rlly depends how my hair is feeling) and more clumps too DEF recommend to try if ur like me ‍♀️

Brianna Hamner: @brihamner Thank you so much for your videos! I've recently been embracing my curly hair and have learned so much from you already! I tried styling upside down and it all got stuck to the back of my head and my neck hurt the whole time, and such a mess! no thank you

jessie stephens: Hi Mell, I'm in my late 60's and I have wavy/curly collar length hair (stylist went to short). My hair curls pretty well on the sides, but I have a dickens of a time with the back of my head. I have to sit drying my hair,(bad back) Would you have any suggestions for me on how to get more curl in the back. Thanks.
