Check out the curly penny Amazon shop, with all of my favourite products link down below in the description box After a million and one requests today, I will finally be trying out cantu shea butter products for curly hair.. All of these products are sulfate, free and silicone. Free, if You'd like to try them I'll link them down below in the description box., So my hair is extremely Tangled and dry, so this is gon na be a real test for these products. First shampoo.. This shampoo is sulfate free and silicone free, but besides glycerin and shea butter it doesn't contain many natural extracts. This smells super good. The consistency is very watery and liquidy and oh, my gosh. Okay, That's everywhere., So the lather is very mild which is expected of a sulfate free shampoo. So I'm just gon na work it through my scalp For a deeper clean, I'm gon na use a shampoo brush.. So I just rinsed up the shampoo And it's very strong for being sulfate free, like my roots, are squeaking, But I guess I can't judge it until I see the final results time for conditioner. This conditioner is silicone free.. Besides shea butter, it doesn't contain many natural extracts. It smells really good. The consistency is very, Very, very thick.. Alright, are we gon na pretend like that, doesn't look like doggy doo doo, just plopped into my hand. Anyway ..., So I'm gon na use a lot, because my hair is super dry and I'm just going to finger comb that through At first it was pretty hard. Just because my hair was very tangled, but after working it in for a while, It's actually doing a really good job. So now I'm going to comb and I'm actually very impressed with how good this conditioner is for just 5 bucks. So now it is time to style with the custard.. The custard is silicone free and it contains glycerin Nettle, aloe vera, shea butter horse tail agave, coconut oil, avocado oil, olive oil mango butter, grape seed oil.. This is full of tons of good stuff, so I'm just going to smooth it over my hair scrunch it in Scrunch with a microfiber towel., I'm gon na plop for like 10 minutes and then I'm gon na air dry. So These are the final results and I'm very impressed with how well these products performed for being so cheap. Like I mentioned before, the shampoo is pretty strong, So definitely watch out for that.. If you need a more conditioning shampoo, I would definitely try a co-wash. And the custard is pretty good. It gave me a lot of shine and definition and control. Let me know down below in the comments what other brands or products or tools you would like me to review. Thank you for watching, and I hope you have a great day. BYEEEEEEE

bumpidop: One of the best reviews I've seen - short, concise, to the point with all the relevant info and no unnecessary blabber. Thank you

Amy Garrido: I'm 15, and I've been straightening my hair almost every single day since I was about 10 because I was the only one in my family who had wavy/curly hair. Nobody taught me how to take care of it, and now my hair is obviously very dry and damaged. I'm gonna chop it off, and try not to straighten my hair anymore, but are there any shampoos/products I should start off with? When I'm out of shampoo and conditioner, should use another brand so my hair doesn't get used to the same shampoo and conditioner?

SneakHerCurlz: Sheeeeeet... your hair came out bomb. I'm a huge Cantu fan. I only use their kids products to style tho.

enigmaticdreams: As a curly hair guy who started to accept and welcome my curly hair, I was needing a cheap conditioner without a bunch of sulfates, silicones, etc. Thank you for doing this!

Penny Tovar: Do you like Cantu? What other brands should I review? Review: ( 3.5 / 5 ) The shampoo is very strong, stronger than most sulfate free shampoo's. The conditioner has great slip and moisture for the price. The custard is a little drying, but gives good definition. Definitely use a leave in conditioner BEFORE the custard for more moisture.

Sam Heliodoro: I use the cantu coconut curl cream and it works so well on my hair, I switched from the shea moisture whipped curl cream to this for the price difference and theres barely a change in the consistency of my curl

kayla nurse: I've been using cantu for a year now and it has change my hair game soo much like I use i lot more of their products other than what you reviewed and the products are pretty amazing on my hair. And I know in the us its cheap but I live in Trinidad and thats expensive for me. Another thing is with the shampoo and conditioner you have to know the right portion thats best for you.

Iman Zia: hey penny! i just recently joined your channel, and i love your videos. Ive recently started my natural hair journey because of stress induced hair loss that strick me 2 months back. Ive taken alot of your advice into consideration and have gone silicone, sulphate and paraben free. The hair loss hasnt stopped yet but by following alot of your tips, i have a lot of regrowth all over my hair. Any tips on stress induced hair loss? have you ever been through it? and i noticed your hair was straight as a child and got curly over time. My hair was straight when i was young too and now its wavy curly...tbh im still confused on how to manage it. I tried plopping and it didnt really help much.... my hair is fine and cuz of hair loss its low in volume too....ugh im so confused abt what to do with it -____-

Sophia In: Just yesterday I was looking for a good and cheap (Student life yep) conditionner! Guess I found what I'm going to try THANKS Penny

Sandra Confesor: Thanks to you Penny I learned that my daughter's has to be cared for differently ... I would only use Johnson's baby shampoo but those would dry up her fine curly hair ..Now all I use is the Cantu for kids products

Jareidis Escalera: Still don't get how it took so long for this video since Cantu is so inexpensive and awesome ! Cantu also has a conditioning co-wash if you think the shampoo is too strong for you. Personally the shampoo works great for myself!

Hermoine Kissoon: I’ve been using Pantene shampoo and dove conditioner. I’ve also been blow drying my hair way to often last year so this summer I decided to let my hair air dry everyday. I started noticing that my hair was wavy but it was also dry and VERY frizzy. I think it’s time to change products! Thank you for the review

V: Thank you penny!!! I love their shampoo and conditioner, but I’ve never used the custard, after seeing how beautiful your hair looks I’m definitely buying it.

Brenda Calderon: They also have a kids line and i use the curling cream from that line on my self and my daughter. LOVE IT! For anyone wondering what other products from that line are good, I would definitely recommend that one.

ClassyChassiss: These are actually my favorites to use, though I have not used the Cantu Custard as of yet! The shampoo is very strong but it definitely busts through buildup

Ashley: I LITTERLY begged my mom to buy me these 3 products. Im back from Target now ima test it. CANT wait to see the results :) EDIT= My curls came out good. I LOVE the conditioner. But 1 problem. The custard made it SOO hard for my hair to air dry. It litterly toke like 4 hours. Thank goodness i had no were to urgently go in those hour's. But still good products :) 3/5

mia ́-: hey penny, could you test out natural hair masks? Like aloe Vera with castor oil and vitamin E, or rice water. I heard it’s great for hair growth!

misswhiskeykittie: Thanks for reviewing these products. I'm interested in trying the custard. Maybe next time you do a review you could talk about what you liked/disliked about the products in more detail? And use them a few times too? It felt a bit brief, like a first impression. And when you say "strong" shampoo, what do you mean by that? Like harsh or drying? Also maybe talk a bit more about the ingredients? Talk about how the products lasted or performed over the course of a few days? Not hating or anything, I love your channel girl x

Tina-Shea Myrie: Their Curl Activator Cream is a favourite of wavy and curly hair peeps. Use as a styler - it actually has a light hold.

mina javed: So bc of the whole devacurl thing, I’ve been checking out products on “think dirty-shop clean” app and Cantu surprisingly doesn’t have the greatest rating and neither does the not your mother line. Now I’m so confused about what to buy that isn’t extremely expensive

Somerainmustfall: Thanks for this! So many curl friendly products are just too expensive. I will be looking forward to trying this in the future... and your hair looked great by the way! :)

Elizabeth Reices: Girl! Wait till you try the Cantu moisturizing curl activator as a styler its been so great to me! I feel like I haven't ever seen you use Curl Keeper or Bounce Curl, the gel from both brands work amazing on my hair and we're hair twins!

Leona Higgs: I used the shampoo and conditioner and then I applied the curl activator cream to my soaking wet hair. I know I'm not suppose to do that but it worked. It made my hair bouncy, shiny, and frizz free.

Brummie Becca: I'm so jealous that you can air dry your hair and it looks bomb. Mine is a flat, stringy mess. I might try their stuff, I've only used the curl revitalising mist before.

Mulú: I use their leave in (that’s called curl activator cream) and with a gel it works AMAZING

Elegantgxld: I’ve seen my cousins using Cantu and I was almost going to buy it but never got to in fear it wouldn’t work, but seeing how my hair is dry and tangled like yours and it working wonders I have to give it a try!!!

Deirdre C: You should have tried the Cantu leave in conditioning repair cream before the custard. It makes your hair even softer underneath any styler. Great video! I like just found you, I'm subscribing!

Vanessa Pastrano: I agree with you in that the shampoo is very strong. I usually wash my hair weekly without any feeling of a dirty head, but the third day after wash day my scalp was feeling itchy and irritated. It also gave me a warm, kind of burning sensation on my scalp when scrubbing it with my fingers, which I've never felt before. I stopped using it after the third time. Maybe the ingredients they use are too harsh?

Maura Rodriguez: I love Cantu, they have a great curl activator and cowash. Try the Cream of Nature foaming mousse, liquid gold. I mix the activator and the mousse together before I gel with the blue LA Looks sports gel.

mayonnaise: could you review the "not your mother's" curly line? happy to see 2 videos this week penny!! ❤❤

Laura Dominguez: Thank you Penny for making this video! I was actually considering to buy Cantu but I wasn’t sure.

Brandy Yolidio: So glad this worked for you, I got so much breakage after I used this stuff not sure what went wrong. I ended up switching to all organic products & that's all my hair seems to like so it's probably me not the product. Great review though

marisadaniela6: Went to target last night, got overwhelmed by all the choices. So THANK YOUUUU, I needed this. Also, you're soooo cute!

Grace S: I used to use the Cantu Grow Strong Strengthening Treatment and loved it! Highly recommend for hair that has been processed and prone to breakage

Charlotte Neal: The moisturizing curl activating cream by cantu is also my fav! You should try that too!:)

Elisa Gomez: I tried the same shampoo as well and I had the same experience the results for the conditioner and the leave in seemed promising though! I'm eager to try it out now !

b00b j0b: I use the Cantu Deep Conditioner and it works pretty well on my hair.

losiram: I love their co wash and after I apply the carols daughter black vanilla conditioner. My curls love it.

Lyzette Vega: I love your reviews, they help this broke/clueless girl a whole lot!

Christina Colongne: Hey Have you tried the Texture Cantu line shampoo and conditioner? I heard those are less drying and have more natural ingredients. Also, have you tried the Cantu Curl Activating creme? Since your hair is weighed down easily, use less of the creme then you usually would use. Less is more.

Esmeralda Rodriguez: I went out and bought these products. The only thing I swapped was the styler, I used Cantu’s kid curly cream styler. I loved the initial results. After using them for about a month I suddenly began to get dandruff. My hair also became very limp, it wasn’t curling like it used to. My ends were split and tangling all the time. My hair had become super dry and damaged. This had never happened to me before with Shea Moisture. I had to cut quite a bit of length off.

Solo Star: Oh wow I just tried Cantu products for the first time as well. I tried them mostly because they're so cheap and where I live it's hard to find curly hair products that really have no sulphates and silicones. I swear some of them lie blatantly on the label :/ I used the curl activator and deep conditioner, but maybe will try the custard too. Thanks for reviewing them!

Amanda Peters: Maple holistic is a brand I’ve tried and liked. The silk 18 conditioner is really good!

Meera Mohan: I am a regular user of Cantu products. Type 3C hair. I recommend leave-in and curl activator for LOC. Cheap and best results!!!

ethereal intoxicated canary: Hey penny. I heard sulfates were good for scalp since it washes away yeast and fungus and dandruff. What do you recommend for people with scalp issues

Nezukooo: I ended up trying the curl custard. Used it AFTER my leave in conditioner and ended up with these weird flakes in my hair My cousin said it looked like I slept on the floor

cutekathren: I've been waiting forever for you to review cantu. Like, finally.

Mariam AA: It would be cool to see you try British ( or some other county’s ) products and see you compare them to your normal routine

Siobhán K.: If you have fine curly hair (i have fine/ thin 3a/b hair) cantu was to rich for me in the stylers. I also agree with penny the shampoo is to intense. However the comeback curl spray worked really nicely to refresh on days 2 and 3.  :)

JewishGirlRox: Hey Penial, I LOVE your videos! I'm an Ultra Orthodox Jew, and it's so nice to find someone so confident on youtube who doesn't feel the need to curse every other word, or wear tight revealing clothing. I find you so relatable! I found you when I started doing the Curly Girl Method. Anyway I wanted to ask you, I notice your name is Hebrew but you talk abot Jesus a lot, but you have like arab accent? (I'm bad with accents, but you definitely speak another language). What is your religious affiliation and where are you from? It's just an interesting mix.

Marisol Valencia: Omg I was not expecting this what a wonderful surprise. Love you Peniel. You do amazing videos

Norma Mendez-Moore: Wow! Thanks for the review. Your hair turned out so beautiful as always.

WinstonChaychel: I LOVE Cantu! Does your hubby ever come home and say "umm... Did you do a hair video again today? Cuz there's hair stuff all over the floor"

Additio S: Dear Penny, love you and I present my question: If you use a leave in conditioner, is it necessary to also have a regular conditioner run through your hair or not?

chelsiii whoo: Thank you so much for this! I️ really wasn’t sure what I️ should invest in but now I️ know. :) And btw.. I️ HAVE THAT SAME EXACT JACKET. I️ love the mix of yellow, it’s so pleasing to look at. ❤️❤️

Priscilla: I'm glad that it's cruelty free

Mariam AA: The way I’ve been watching curly penny videos for 3 years and I always learn new tips

Aleksandra Szydłowska: I live in Poland and here Cantu product's are really expensive and hard to buy. For example shampoo cost 12$, or conditioner like 15$. In USA it could be still a good price, but here standard products like this costs 3-4$ or lower... I think it's because curly hair in Poland are rare, most of girls has straight or wavy.

Jada Lexie💕: A hairdresser recommended this to me! I can’t wait to try it!

ZeeChops: How well did the definition last over time? Love your vid btw!! ❤️

Jose Pena: I like how you only have like 10 curls when your hair is wet and then it’s all fluffy when dry it’s soo cool

lucia: Love your videos! Can you maybe compare it to other brands when reviewing?

Sophie Kamler: You're a doll! The second ingredient of the shampoo is a sulfate though. I think that might be why it seemed so strong for a "sulfate free" shampoo.

Divya Iyer: Could you review Live Clean? It's a Canadian brand, and I use them sometimes since we don't get Cantu and Shea Moisture here very often. It's extremely affordable and you can buy them on Amazon!! I think I've seen them on the US store, so you should be able to find them! I'm curious to see how they will work on your hair!!

doll: I’m gonna try to do the curly girl method for my hair.i hope it works we will see.My hair is damaged so when I wash it it’s wavy in some places and straight in others .Its weird lol.But if it doesn’t work I will just straighten it again because it get so frizzy ‍♀️ fingers crossed that it works lol.Btw I love your videos!❤️

shauni: Hi Penny, I'm fairly new to your channel, and I know you have demonstrated several Shea Moisture products, but what about the SheaMoisture’s Coconut & Hibiscus line? If you haven't, could you review it? Please and thank you!

C VMA: I always want to try the most expensive hair products when Cantu has always been in my face (you can get their products everywhere) and for some reason I avoid it!

Talitha Chelsea: Your hair came out very beautiful & defined gurl, definetely bomb! Could you review the Kinky Curly line??

Maria Flores: Saw the custard at the store and I put it back because I was waiting for you to do a review on it

Alyssa Marie: @CurlyPenny How much time into your hair journey was it before you saw your overall curl pattern/texture change? My hair is very coily all throughout my bottom layer, but my hair seems to be more wavy at the top of my head. The two textures just look so odd together I'm wondering if it will ever get better

Surfandsandmegs: Your hair looks super shiny after this! I wish I could get my natural curl pattern back but I think it's gone after years of forcing it to dry straight :/

svce2007: I love the results and I presume it’s the custard that did the most part. Either way, v useful content

Gina M: Cantu is all I use. Love it on my natural wavy hair.

Bash Moha: It’s so amazing I will use it now

Jakaira Ureña: Have you tried the oatmeal or rice water rinse? Maybe a tutorial about your review?

pickled herring: Hi, thanks for the tips, just wondering though, did you rinse the conditioner out or was it a leave in? Do you usually use a leave in on a regular basis or always rinse out your conditioner?

MissBananaBike: My faaaavvvvv for my curls is Petal Fresh! Sold here in Holland, but it's a US brand soooo.. And it should be pretty cheap, big ol' bottle costs me about 7 euros here. Dunno if they have stylers tho, but I use it with a saltspray and that's all my hair needs..

Natalie Schellhorn: Just started my going natural journey and Im soooo glad I found this channel. I got some Not Your Mother's products for curly girls I hope they work. Anyone has tried them?

cloud campos: your hair texture is what i always dreamt of ! so beautiful ! ( i have the ringlet type )

Jakaira Ureña: Have you tried the oatmeal or rice water rinse? Maybe a tutorial about your review?

Eliana B.: I used Cantu for a couple months but it eventually ended up being very drying to my hair, just a warning!! Also, I know it’s pricey but could you review some Ouidad products?? The curly hair subreddit goes back and forth between whether Deva Curl or Ouidad is better and I’d love to hear your opinion!!

Dry Noodles: I use cantu products, the twist and curl/lock gel and leave in conditioner are my holy grails !!!!

Cassey Steph: I'm totally buying that custard ilysm♡

Ramaya Stowell: I just got rid of a bunch of products that weren't curly girl approved..so I'm definitely buying this product cause I barely have any now

Patricia Garcia: Cantu deep conditioner is from my days as a client at a hair school. I will try the shampoo , conditioner, and styling crème routine..

Cori Kiiyana: Question! Did you rinse out the conditioner before applying the custard or did you leave the conditioner in?

Addy Schultz: This sound crazy but I think you should try body wash and body lotion on your hair (as shampoo and conditioner) ❤️

Bo Me: Wow your hair looks amazing. I use these products too and I feel like the shampoo makes the roots rlly soft actually, different experience haha

SmileZone: Yay! Finallyyy! Thank you Penny!❤ I do a combo of the Leave in conditioner (repair cream) then add the custard... Yo the hair will be super soft, curly, and sleek i love it.

Ashley H: You should review the cantu hair masque! I have almost the same hair type as you and I love it

What The Kink: The shampoo is likely strong due to the Shea butter needing to be removed if you use the entire line.

Ashley: Can someone list some more nice, reasonable products like Cantu? Preferably without the alcohol like Cantu has in their products...

Wiam: I just wish we had the products you review here in Sweden

Emily Flores: I love your content penny you have showed me to love my hair ... thanks ❤️

Mar Soto: I tried the conditioner for a while and my hair started falling out during the period while I used it but then again I have very fragile hair

Loesy Castellanos: I'm new to your channel and absolutely love your content and personality, I seriously can't stop watching!! * subscribes *

I Guzman: I love Cantu's products ❤❤❤❤

kshaye323: Hi Penny Are you into fitness & working out & stuff? If so can you do a tutorial on how to revive your curls after a workout?!? Like honestly I have no idea how the crap I’m supposed to work out every day but not wash my hurr every day. So I just choose not to workout. LOL I’ve got so much hair & that just takes too dang long to wash it more than every 4 days or so.

Nails By Monii: The cantu co wash is SUPER amazing can you please try it out I wanna know what you think

Cristina Maria: Best cantu product is cantu curl activator cream. Soft hold, no IPA and is like 5 bucks!
