Hello, everybody welcome back to the fit curls. My name is Angela. I am a fitness, professional and a curl enthusiast, and I spend my time on this channel talking all the ways to keep your curls in shape, I'm about to hop in the shower to take care of this mess, and today it's first impression. It'S time I am going to be giving you my first impressions of the Loess brand 3-step curling fair system. I am so excited a huge thank you to les for gifting me these products and without further ado. Let'S do this. Welcome to my shower folks, we're going to get started with the Loess sulfate free shampoo, just gon na give this a quick emulsify and then apply it to my scalp. So right off the bat. I noticed that this product, as many sulfate free shampoos, do, does not really lather a whole lot and I don't know I guess I'm used to a more lathering shampoos, so it took me a second to get used to so I did end up adding a bit More shampoo - and I also added more water to my hair lust - has stated that their products are all pretty concentrated and definitely activated by water and once I did add both water and product. To my hair, I felt more of that latter sensation along my scalp and saw more evidence of that now. I wanted to make sure I really really massage deep in my scalp, so I took my baby list Pro scalp massager that I always use with my shampoos to really just kind of break up any buildup that I had on my scalp and while I missed the Sides it did feel pretty good and as a bonus, the product smells quite pleasant. It'S a very light scent, but it is really clean and almost a little bit floor without being cloying. So now it was time to rinse the product. Out of my hair. You can see that it's running down from my scalp as I continue to massage it down through my ends, where most of my product build-up, winds up being low-key and my scalp and hair both felt pretty clean. So, moving on to the conditioner, I can go pretty heavy-handed with conditioner, so I tried to start with a relatively generous amount and right off the bat. I noticed it giving my hair some really nice slip, I'm not typically able to just finger detangle my ends, especially so you can see the texture there, god, I'm so sorry for that fall out of those gross, but I actually was able to a relatively well finger. Detangle all the way through my hair, which for a silicone free conditioner, is kind of rare. You don't often get really tremendously good slip with a silicone free conditioner. That'S why silicones get put into conditioners in the first place, so I just decided to stick it under a processing shower cap and leave it in for three to five minutes as per the directions. After that, the directions do specify to add more water and to detangle with a wide tooth comb. I don't have one of those I use my tangle teezer instead, so in this period of adding plenty of water, I decided to, as you guys saw wet the tangle teezer and continue to distribute the product all the way through my hair. That sensation of slip really carries when you add water to your hair at the end of that little processing period, and I wanted to make sure that the conditioner got as distributed all the way through my links as possible, giving myself a really good detangle. Oh we're all it felt pretty good. All I had to do was rinse post shower. I left my hair absolutely dripping and soaking wet for the three-in-one styler. This was the product. I was by far most intrigued to try. So the instructions say to section your hair and apply the product because it's activated by water to soaking wet hair. So, even though my hair was dripping down my neck, I applied even more before adding any product to it whatsoever. I was also, as previously mentioned, warned that these products were incredibly concentrated, so I wanted to make sure that I had enough water in my hair that I didn't feel like I needed to apply a ton of product to it for the entire bottom section. I started with once I actually got it out. You can tell this was the first time I used the bottle. I started with two pumps really emulsified. You can see how it's coating my hands there and then raked and smoothed the product into my hair, because this was my first time using this styler. I wanted to follow the directions on the bottle to the letter. So that's exactly what I did. I raked it through and then using the praying hands technique. I gave it a smooth and did the same thing on the other side before ever doing any scrunching. There sound reasoning behind these instructions as well. The first two techniques that you saw me use there raking and then praying hands are used to distribute product through the hair. We'Re scrunching is less about distributing and more about enhancing and forming the curl pattern. So after I did some scrunching, as always, I have some kind of wonky curls and problematic pieces, and I decided to finger coil just to kind of fix those up a little bit give myself the best chance of getting some really nice curls and spirals forming. In my hair, the product did have really good slip and, just like the rest of the products in the line has that kind of light clean scent to it. That'S not bothersome at all. So if you're sensitive to fragrance I'd say the less products are probably really safe for you, there was nothing that could remotely cause a headache in there. So that's the bottom section done now. I'M just gon na repeat that process all the way through my hair, every single time I went in with a new section, I wanted to make sure that that hair was still as soaking wet as possible for even distribution of the product and because, like the bottle Said it's activated by water. I don't normally these days wet style, my hair, I don't like that. Sensation of water dripping down my neck, but the directions are the directions I wanted to give this product a fair shot and since it's so concentrated, wet styling, not just because it was the instructions on the bottle, but with a concentrated product and fine hair. You want to make sure it's kind of diluted down and really distributed as evenly as possible. The product goes in really easy, it's actually quite intuitive to use and just to make sure everything was really adequately coated. I actually placed some of the product in my hands at the and sprayed it down with water from my bottle and then just coated and scrunched it in a little bit more. As you can see me doing here. What I could tell was that there were some really nice curls forming without me having to put tons of effort into applying this product. Just a few lasts crunches and finger coils to make sure that the curls are as happy as possible, including that one wonky piece right near my face and then it's time to micro pop I had tons of moisture in there from wet styling. You can see just from having that towel around my shoulders, how wet it already was, but even just a simple act of micro plopping was pulling more of the water out and really enhancing the curl pattern. Then it was just time to diffuse. See you in a bit um guys, I'm Chuck, I am, I am Shh look. This is quite literally the simplest routine that I have done in almost a year of wearing my hair. Now Charlie curly, the simplest, and these might be my best results, full disclosure. I did feel like I used a little bit less product with the three-in-one that I should have so I did actually go in with a little bit of the product. I wet my hands with my spray bottle and I kind of smashed'red an individually finger coiled. Some of the pieces to really get the definition and honestly moisture that I felt like my hair was missing. But, aside from that, my hair is so soft. There was definitely and and is on certain pieces, still a little bit of a cast around it. But it's a soft cast, it's it's a touchable cast rather than and a little bit flexible, rather than being something that's like crispity crunchity peanut. That being said, I am gon na be very interested to see how this holds up. It is in fact, summer and humidity. Can be a serious issue in making your curls just kind of go regardless of whether or not this product as a one-and-done holds up over several days, which is something that I'm very interested in seeing. I have a feeling that this is going to become a really really regular part of my hair styling routine. I will be checking in with you guys throughout the week, as always with one of my first impression videos so that you guys can see how this actually holds up as they want in done product. So far, I'm very impressed and I will check in with y'all a little bit later. You know those old drug-awareness commercials. Well, this is my day to hair. This is my day to hair without any protein double check. The ingredients of all the les products this morning and realized that shampoo conditioner and the three-in-one styler are all completely protein free. So if your protein sensitive, that is a fantastic option of a line for you. Unfortunately, for me I have quite high porosity hair and it needs protein. It needs that structure so normally by day 2. I have a little bit of frizz, but I still have a lot of form, and today I just my hair still feels really soft, but the curls dropped. My style is more elongated than it was yesterday and I have quite a bit of frizz, especially in areas that you can see. The curl is just not there anymore. It'S all about balance, balancing protein versus moisture. Now, if you guys have more questions about that drop, a comment below, let me know if you want to see a video about balancing protein and moisture. That being said, I don't want to have to wash my hair again. I actually really liked the results from the last three in one style, but I can tell that I need both a little bit more hold and I definitely need some protein. So I'm going to do a refresh with a little bit of a gel that I know has a great protein content and I'm gon na check back in later and see if we can salvage this ha just kidding. Let'S fast forward a couple of days, so that refresh attempt was it secure and my hair was starting to feel really try and straw like a big part of that was there was very little protein to actually help steal. My cuticles feel those little pores that tend to let moisture, leach out and also the fact that I didn't seal the three-on-one styler in because there's glycerin in that three-in-one styler in humid weather glycerin can kind of draw too much of a humidity in from the air Which winds up swelling the cuticle and causing a gap that moisture to leach out? So that's the theories I wanted to give the three-in-one styler a really fair, shake and see how it holds up as part of a multi-step, curl styling, routine aka Mane's by Mel's prep style, finish method, which is my preferred method of styling, because that stuff works. I prepped my hair with together beauties whatever, wherever you can get this at Sephora. It is a spray leave-in conditioner that has hydrolyzed quinoa and hydrolyzed beta bat proteins in it, but it's also very moisturizing. I followed it up with the three-in-one styler the exact same way that I used it last time ie by following the instructions on the bottle because they're there for a reason, I did a full plop on my hair today then after I took my hair down out Of a plop I finished up with a little bit of the Camaro's curl maker, just kind of gently glazing scrunch all over. For that extra hold that I told you guys that I needed from the styler and, wouldn't you know MIT we've got shine. We'Ve got bells, we've got structure and I can already tell that this style is going to hold up for days and days and days. The whole lust line honestly is absolutely brilliant, particularly if you're looking for something that is very strictly curly girl method approved the sulfate free shampoo actually does a remarkable job cleansing. Despite the lack of lather. The silicone free conditioner has a remarkable amount of slip to it, especially considering that it is in fact silicone free, the three-in-one curly styler, which is the one that I tried guys. This is a really phenomenal curl enhancer. I just noticed gaps in what my hair needed versus what the Loess styler provided. Overall, the lust 3-step curly system is a really great product Lian. I highly recommend it to anyone who is a strict CGM follower or anybody who is looking just for an easy, moisture, balancing kind of routine for their hair. For me, I'm gon na need to all treat those shampoos and conditioners with protein containing products, and I definitely need to use the styler with some other stylers. It doesn't work as an all-in-one for my hair. Despite how much I loved the day, one results when I used it just all by itself, so that is it for today's video. What did you guys think drop a comment down below? Let me know if you have ever used the lust 3-step system and your personal feelings about it, how it worked for your hair. Let me know again, if you guys want to see that video all about the finer points of balancing protein and moisture, what ingredients to look for and how to know what your hair really needs. If you enjoyed this video - and you want to see more like it, give this a thumbs up, it really does help the video and the channel more than I can possibly say. We are inching closer by the day as the time that I'm filming 800 subscribers, the goal of really like to cross off, is getting to that thousand subscriber mark. That would be huge for the channels. So if you know anybody who would be interested in the con of this video anybody who's been interested in hearing more about these products. Please share this video with them. Thank you guys again so much for watching the fit. Curls love your curls love each other, and I will see you all next time. Bye,

Carmen Da Silva: I really like this product, I’ve been using it for maybe 3 years now and I get all kinds of compliments on my curls. I’ve just ordered the gel and hopefully I like it.

Carter Allred: Just bought this for my daughter. Thank you for this tutorial. Best one I've seen.

gali galit: Great video. Love that you named other products and said where to get them. btw, a shampoo that doesn't lather is a good sign because it means that it doesn't have all that crappy drying detergent in it. Also love that you talked about protein because I used this stuff and my hair looked *fried,* worse than LUS' 'before' pictures. I don't have the shampoo and conditioner, just the Step 3. Can you please give me the link to the protein info you were talking about, and any other info you can give, i.e. specifically the best protein product I should get. Whatever you can do, I would greatly appreciate it. TY in advance.

Jen Johnson: Great video, thanks! I just purchased the LUS line to try, I’d love to hear more about protein vs moisture and how to know what your hair needs - I think my hair is also protein deficient.

Diana Nemoy: List stumbled on your channel and let me say after years of seeing random curly girl channels and majority of all that works for them sadly never working for me as much as I have high hopes lol, nice to finally run across someone who has the closest to my hair type I've spotted so far. You are a sweetheart as well and love that you have videos on any of the few brands in existance I havent already tried that I have been eyeing haha among appreciate all your great application tips which is the one area over always been a little lazy in as hate having to spend all the extra time coaxing my wave/curls. I miss my teens when my girl pattern was much tighter and I could just apply product to damp hair, scrunch and be done literally and all looked uniform and amazing. Just ordered the Denman brush after seeing your tutorial and realizing I shouldn't have been lazy about getting one all these years lol. Thank you for your channel and amazing energy, you definitely have a new follower. As far as LUS my hair comically hated this brand and I have a feeling it would as wasnt super impressed with the ingredients when scanning years ago among the magical solution to perfect curl claims as many hyped marketing lines all claim but for those with fussy curls like me desperate to find that one perfect balance miracle line I feel like we cave everytime and spend $ in the hunt. This one just did nothing for definition and hold for me among left my hair more frizzy and dry. Similar to the let down of Ecoslay products for me as much as I adore the owner and mission all those super natural no preservative mist be refrigerated type lines sound amazing in theory but are always horrendous for my hair type after always costing more and the fuss of storage and not the most pleasant scents. Ofcourse had to try for that perfect protein to moisture balance I'm always after. Cheers!

Kim Still: I am trying the LUS line and I have fine curls too. Day 1 was great. Day 2 I saw the falling curls also. I just felt like I was adding more and more product and weighing them down. I have never heard about protein for hair. I will be checking out your other videos. Thanks!

Shelayna Christante: Thank you SOOO much! this has been so helpful for me! I have been using LUS products for my wavy/curly (but thin!) hair for over a year now and I have been wondering, "has my hair always been this dry and straw like? what am I doing WRONG?", convinced that it must be a me problem. thank you so much!!

Michelle O: I started with LUS. I never used the shampoo and conditioner, but used the styler. Loved it! It was a great starting point, especially after watching a ton of videos with people using tons of products in their hair (not for me!!) As my hair transitioned and I learned more, I started to think I needed a bit more hold than just the LUS leave in styler. I added a gel (Mop Top) and had the best curl days. With the gel I didn't have to put my hair up on day 2! (Though I still can't get much past day 2 as is the nature of my hair) I have switched products up to try different things, but LUS is still my fave!! It will always be on my shelf.

GG 107: You gave the best explanation of why someone would need protein. I kept hearing about it but I didn't know if I needed or not. I'm going to give it a try. Thanks

LUS Brands: Thank you so much for sharing, Angela! We love those suuuuper soft curls!!

Kristen Hysler: Hey, idk if this helps, but Ouidad's botanical boost spray has a lot of protein and helps bring back 2nd day (or 5th day curls) great! Also, the Mixed Chicks morning after redefining foam is great if you like glycerin based product.

Ché **: Your hair looked beautiful! I didn't see anything wrong with your hair. it looks great.

Donna Stapleton: I almost ordered fragrance free for that reason then i thought "i wanna smell good"! How bad can it be? Still waiting but from what Im hearing im glad i got the fragrance kind! Sooo thoughtful though to have fragrance free line as weel ➿〰️➰

Liann Page: Great video! I learned a lot. I also watched your protein video and found it to be very informative. I’m new to natural curly hair care. When you said you prepped your hair with Whatever Wherever. Did you wash your hair and apply that to your dripping wet hair and then apply the LUS all in one right after?

Marisa Schooley: It looks beautiful! It was prettier day one, of course, but it still looked pretty darn good day 2 when you weren't happy with it. But, considering you slept on it etc I'm very impressed. I just got my LUS kit today and used it for the 1st time.. I'm hoping I have similar success!! Thanks, I am interested in other tips on how to manage and balance protein etc My curls have been the bane of my existence. Imagine being in high school in the 70s when THE style was straight hair parted down the middle and blow dryers were un heard of. I had to have my sister roll it with gigantic rollers or my best friend actually used a regular clothes iron. I was very grateful when the Farrah Fawcett hairdo and blow dryers came out... LOL. I've subscribed to your channel and wish you much success. Thanks!!

Kayla Marley: Hey! I've been using their products for a little bit now but not loving how my hair was feeling dry and stringy. Now I'm wondering if I need more protein! Thanks for the video!

Kate Tinnan: I have been eyeing this product line but, yeah, high porosity hair ( I think I even have high porosity in the new growth that is not chemically treated or heat styled) really needs protein. Thanks so much for doing this video - saved me time, heartache and money!

unashamedfelinity: THANK YOUUUU, I was just trying to decide if LUS was worth trying... But the problem you had with it is the problem I usually have with most stylers, so it sounds like I might need to start looking for leave-ins with proteins.. Now I have to go check if you did do that followup video, it would be super helpful for me ^_^

Kathy Smigen: I suggest you use a lot more water with the shampoo. That works well for me and I have the same type of hair that you do. I apply the LUS system in the shower with soaking wet hair and with my hair upside down. Love the results.

Candra Tuladhar: I really like LUS in the fall and winter. I use the kinky-coily it has more hold and I just use more water with it. Glycerin is not my friend in the summer. Great review

Amanda Delecosse: Thanks for such a thorough review! I'd like to hear more about protein.

akaw Otaw: Love the result. I must try. I have natural curl as well..

April B.: I just ordered my first order from LUS. I’m thinking that I’ll need to use a little bit of gel to seal in the styling product. I have high porosity hair (damaged and dry from highlights and color) and need protein to help restore my hair.

Nancy Andrews: Thank you for a great video!!! I should get mine Monday in the mail. Can you show how you diffuse? Do you have to diffuse or can you let it air dry?

Clarissa Davila: You might of changed my whole life. I knew nothing about protein in the hair. I'm loosing patience with my hair. It's so damn frizzy. I get one day of good hair and the rest frizzy!!!

Nicole LeVasseur: I just bought the LUS 3 in 1 system and havent used it yet. I wanted to watch a few videos to make sure I watched all the steps. I will follow up once I've used it

Denise Murray: Next time try putting just a bit of Curl Talk Mousse glazed over your hair. It has your protein. Your style will last for days and still be light and soft. As a refresh, put a couple of pumps of 3 in 1 into a spray bottle with water and spritz your hair and scrunch. Ta da, curl is back and summer humidity frizz is gone. No need to diffuse because you don’t need much. Great for during the day if you change up your style from a pony to down for evening as well.. For added lather with shampoo, don’t add more shampoo, add more water first. You can see, LUS is my holy grail. I have 2c/3a fine curls that need protein as well. I usually get most of my protein from a mask once a week.

lodonnel: So helpful. Just using for the first time tomorrow. Thanks!!

Anna Burns: this demo is the best example I have seen of the result of needing protein but not getting any. Your curls look frizz, fly a way and limp! I know that you typically have great curls. Thanks for the example! I will be more mindful for myself. Sometimes I add a bit of protein to my products if I feel the need for more.

Linda Flanagan: I would like to see how to get the perfect protein and moisture balance. Also my hair, like yours, looks great at first but then frizzes and loses shape after time, especially in humid Florida. What is the product you used after the 3 in 1 to better hold the curls? Thanks!!

Lara Edelman: Great informative video. I watched the one on protein vs moisture & forgive me, I still feel lost. I have longer hair and wonder if the length makes my hair curl just stringy?? I just read on Lus Brands page (?) If your hair does NOT stretch & it breaks that means too much protein? If that's the case then maybe these LUS product would work for me??

Ingrid Khajeh: It’s gorgeous Thank you for doing this video I’ve been n the fence with this product Defiantly gonna give er a go Do you use a silk pillow case like Blissy?

Rose: Wow, your hair looks beautiful

Andihollywood71: I've used LUS system twice now and it is a good product but for someone with very thick, long hair, putting products in sopping wet hair...my hair takes hours to dry, even if I towel dry right after. It's just not practical. Before using LUS, I would towel dry then apply mousse and my hair didn't take hours to dry. I can't see having the time to use this system.

DRinTX: LUS doesn’t work on my hair. Makes my hair a frizzy yucky mess. And now I know why! Mystery solved. Glad it’s not just me. maybe I’ll try it with other finishing products.

Dia LovesCarbs: You look gorgeous!!!

Sara P: Your curls are beautiful!

Rachel Andrade: Could you try the Pacifica pineapple curls line. The shampoo is sulfate free but it does suds up really nice

Bridget Tate: How would you add Cake products into this routine? I think my hair needs some protein as well and would be curious if stylers with protein help or if it needs to be in the conditioner? Thanks

Carmie: So far I'm not liking the feel of this on my hair. The co dictionary makes my hair feel like straw. Step 3 takes so long.

Tammy Carroll: I, also, had same issue with next- day dryness from Lus Brand curly set. Do you have another alternative for the protein leave-in. It looks like like it is unavailable.

Sarah McCown: What the WHAT?! My curls drop like that, especially when I do CGMs. Are you telling me I need protein in my hair? THIS IS A THING?! I need more info.

Maria: Could you explain the protein and moisture balance? I think my hair needs protein as well!

Wilgeese: For the second wash when you included another product for hold like if I were to add in gel or mousse after using lus styler how did you incorporate the product? Like if I used mousse or gel after the styler should I rake and scrunch?

Lauren Kurzman: Issues with customer service. No confirmation emails. No responses on the website.Only response I've received was on FB messenger once I realized they would respond here. They are offering me 15%off my next order on a shampoo with a faulty lid. These products store bottoms up. I lost the whole bottle.Photos in comments of my messenger connversation.

Jacque Shank: I just ordered the 3step LUS products.

Westin Britt: I suggest talk about fast hair growth shampoo to double hair growth.

Deb R: Use a flax gel after the 3 in 1! I love the LUS and the homemade gel. My best hair EVs. Is that bc the flax gel has protein?

Lynzey Marie: Ouidad looks great for less than a day and then the curls fall out. Mine looks worse day 2. My hair is low to med porocity, thick and course 2c. Hard to find the right products.

Harriet Taylor: If you've slept on it your hair looks great. The second day you just wet and all in one again. Easy.

Allofus Family: Great video. I love the water bottle you used. Where can I get one?

Lacrecia Boutard: Great information!

Ruth Gallagher: Does anyone know how it is with oily hair?

linda saigh: That's amazing

Jessica Lopez: Any of you lovely ladies willing to give this mama some advice? My son is 6 years old and has curly hair. He's the only one in the immediate family. I've been trying to learn how to best take care of it. He's autistic so he won't tolerate defusing, but he does allow me to wet comb it and use product. Any tips for what to use? If it helps give you an idea .... When his hair is wet he has ringlets. After a day they look super frizzy, thin, and limp. It's like they stretch out and start looking zigzag and straight, not curly or bouncy. I don't know what to do.

JM S: According to their website, their flagship products contain silk protein. Only the kinky/coily is protein free.

Crystal Houseman: Doesn’t moringa oil have protein?

Rochelle Holmes: I wish they offered a refund thanks for this video

wavamy: Didn't work for my hair either. I use this when I need to clarify

Tamela Taylor: You need to add water when shampooing.

Tara Elmegreen: Thanks! I'll at least try the travel size......

Donna Stapleton: Honestly from the initial ad for this video i thot no way. & I def thot once i saw u in the shower - she doesnt even have curly hair. I cant wait! Moreso, i cant wait to have long hair! Again :(

mirella tauro: I only bought the three in one but you used something else

Monika Leski: These products did not work for me I’m so sad

DK / KK Dave / Kim: To be soaking wet is weird

Kim Swetlikoff: All u have to do it wet it again the next day

Marianne Pate: Way too much product. I can’t afford buying a new spray every week
