Healthy living is Beautiful! Be healthy!

Hey guys it's on tase way here today and today I'm going to be telling you guys something that you guys have been asking me ever since I spoke on it in my last video, and that is the difference between sealing oils and moisturizing oils, because there is A difference now before I get into the video I wanted to say, if you use any of these oils a different way than what I mentioned then - and it's been working for you, then by all means, keep doing what you do sometimes using the oils. The wrong way can be setting your regiment up to completely fill, especially when you're, depending on like the oils to locking your moisture or some moisture eyes, your hair and things like that. So it's really important to know the difference between sealing and moisturizing oils so that your regimens can all work out just fine the first. I wanted to start with the moisturizing oils, because the moisturizing oil is on the oils that we pretty much rely on to keep our hair really moisturized and, as you guys know, on this channel, I stress so much how important voice your rising your hair is for. Your hair to grow and for your hair to be healthy, so moisturizing oil is mainly used to penetrate the shaft of your hair and, of course, moisturize your hair. The problem is not all oils can do this, for example, selling oil sealing oils do not penetrate your hair shaft, but they do lock in the moisture in your hair. So once your hairs are already moisturized the sealing oil just follows up to seal everything in. If that makes sense, so it just seals in the moisture, it doesn't waste ur eyes anything. It just keeps it in so think of it like a bottom coat of your nail. You know you put a bottom coat on and then you put the top coat on. If you put the bottom coat on and don't put the top coat on, of course, you know they're not going to last as long also. Another thing that I recently found out is that sealing oils are not really good on your stop. So like saying, why can you do like Scott massages and stuff they're, not as good as a oil to use? First, it's like moisturizing oils on your scalp when you do like, I don't know like we put it on your scalp or anything like that. It'S best to use moisturizing oils. Now I personally use a suing oil and that just I don't know, that's worked for me up. So I've seen lots results and everybody's different, but this is just kind of like the correct and correct way to do it. But you don't have to follow rules on time and so, okay, so brace it the most of time. With me, I use moisturizing oils like in my conditioners or in the beginning of my regimen, like before I wash my hair I'll, do like it's got massage you're. Like you know, I wish a moisturizing oil or sometimes I do use a sewing. Oil moisturizing oils can also be used in like leave-in conditioners or with leave-in conditioners. So in case, you guys are wondering what are some examples of moisturizing and sealing oils I'll go ahead and give you guys, like some oils, that I mostly use for moisturizing oils and the oils are used for sowing. The first one is coconut oil. I know that some people don't like coconut oil, but I personally use it too in the beginning of my regiment to like these hangul - and I put it on my scalp - sometimes what I can't do and in the beginning I never knew why. I couldn't do this, but using coconut oil as a sealant really did leave my hair super greasy and it just didn't work out. But that's why? Because coconut oil is not a sealant, it's a moisturizing oil. So if you use it as last step to like so everything in your hair probably could become very dry or it could become very greasy like my eyes or you can just not react to it at all. So coconut oil is definitely definitely definitely a moisturizing oil and it's moisturizing because it's able to penetrate your hair shell. It'S also best to use coconut oil like on top of a conditioner, or you know, with some type of water-based product, because coconut oil can sometimes tend to stay. I don't know if, like if you guys ever, have but happened to you, but for me it can tend to sit on my hair and just really not get in there. So normally I have to like spray with water before applying the coconut oil or something like that or use like a conditioner. So that's why I said to use it with the leave-in conditioner, because it just works so much better. The second oil that is a moisturizing oil, of course, is olive oil. A lot of people stand so close to olive oil. They stand by it so much. They said that it's like the best thing ever. I actually use olive oil a lot on my daughter's hair. It really really works for her hair. Now, for my hair, it just sometimes is a little too heavy, but it is a great moisturizer like I use it in my yo, i crope oil all the time, so olive oil is definitely a winner. I mean like I said it can be too heavy for people who have like um, thinner, hair or people who just can't take heavy products, but for people like with for a hair or I'm not going to just I'm not going to put in a category. But people will like thicker hair, like my daughter's hair, olive oil is like your best friend. Oil is another oil that I recommend that you use like a water-based product. Normally I like to put it like my deep conditioners or like I'll put it um like I'll mix it with a conditioner for neuron hair. Sometimes olive oil, pretty much increases the shine and your hair to me and makes your hair a lot more manageable. The last oil that is a moisturizing oil - well not the last one, but the one that I'm going to list is avocado oil. That kind of works to me like um olive oil, is super heavy. I don't really get avocados oil. I because it's super expensive in my area - I don't know if it's expensive in your area, but it's expensive in mine, so I just get out of oil because it works to me. It just works just the same. As you know, avocado oil, but avocados oil is another option. If you're not into olive oil, you can definitely use some avocado oil on your hair, so yeah olive oil and coconut oil. I use mainly as pre pool and to ask my conditioner. So that's how I use them now on to silly oil. These are my favorite oils to talk about because they're just amazing, the ones that I use just work so good for my hair and I'm just so glad that I use them and I'm just so happy to share them with you guys. So the first and my most favorite is Jamaican black, castor oil. I use two types of Jamaican black, castor oil. The first one is from rosette treasures. I will send this a long time ago, and this is like super high-quality, Jamaican black, castor oil. So this is my favorite, but I also use um this brand tropic icy living or something like that, and it is also Jamaican black, castor oil. So these are the two brands I like to use this one is my favorite, but you have to order this online and I'll put like their website down in the description box, and then you can also get this like at Whole Foods or white. I don't know, I think they have a my cat, hair stores too so yeah Jamaican black, castor oil are good for sealing. I most of the time. Don'T use it to seal my hair completely because it's too thick, but I do when I get out the shower. Still light the ends of my hair, with with this oil um, just to make sure that my eyes are not dry because sometimes my ends can get really dry and I also do scalp massages, sometimes with this oil, so yeah jamaican black, castor oil is super good. It'S very good at softening the hair and also getting rid of impurities, so it actually is a really great oils to having your hair collection, but because it's such a thick oil, I would recommend, if you want to completely seal your hair with this, to have like A thicker texture, another selling oil is grapeseed oil. I don't normally just pour it on my hair, just because it's just too messy - and I normally get it like in bulks, because I cook with it too so normally. I don't just put it on my hair, but I do use it in my deep conditioners and, like I said in my DIY growth oil, but you can use that too so, and the moisture of your hair is a silly oil, the last oil and the ones That I recommend for sewing all the time is jojoba oil jojoba oil is extremely light. This is probably lighter than the grapeseed oil. It is the closest oil to our natural oils that are in our hair, in my opinion, is one of the best selling oils, because it really does still in all the moisture in your hair, and it's just never felt me it's one of the first oils that I bought so, as I mentioned in the beginning, I did say that I use jojoba oil on my scalp. I use jojoba oil in Jamaica, black ash on my or you on my on my scalp and it just I don't know it does good for me, but if you want to do it the correct way you can use like the moisturizing oils instead of a hobo Oil, like I do on my on your scalp, so in a nutshell, moisturizing oils and suing oils. Moisturizing oils are good to penetrate the hair shaft and also our best use with water based products and are the most useful type of oil to put on your scalp selling oils, on the other hand, are better used to lock in moisture. They don't penetrate the hair. Shaft, it basically sits on top of your hair and adds like shine and luster to your hair, and these type of oils are most useful when applied after you put all your products in or after you finish, twisting your hair. So when you finish doing a wash and go or twist out or bright out, you want to apply these sealing oils after you're done with that entire style on top, so that it can lock everything in. I hope that this video helped someone out there, hopefully with and all over the place or too confusing. So let me know down in the comments section if you use these oils in a different way and if that's work for you or if you completely agree with this entire video - and you know you use these oils exactly the way I mentioned it anyways. Thank you guys so much for watching this video. Please don't forget to subscribe to this channel and yeah, see you guys in the next one bye,

Krys B: LADIES. LISTEN. Water is moisture. Oils & butters only SEAL IN the moisture (water). All oils are NOT created equal. Some oils are good for combating certain issues moreso than others. Peppermint and lavender oils for example are best for stimulating the blood cells on your scalp and making the hair smell lovely. Stimulation of the blood cells on the scalp is also why massaging your head for 15 minutes daily makes your hair grow much faster. Tea tree, coconut or castor oil, on the other hand have amazing anti-fungal and healing properties, which is why they are best to put on balding spots or thinning edges. BUT they do nothing for you if you want fresh smelling hair or instant frizz control. For low porosity hair, you need LIGHT oils bc your tight cuticles can only hold so much oil. Low porosity hair requires LESS oil than high porosity bc your issue is getting the moisture in, NOT keeping it in. That is why low porosity naturals are encouraged to use lighter oils like grapeseed, jojoba, argan oil, etc. Coconut oil is fine too but too much of it can cause protein overload, which is why many naturals complain about having very dry OR too oily hair the next day after using it. If your fingers are very oily after you put them thru your hair, that means that you put too much in, hence the reason your cuticles rejected the excess oil and made the excess oil just sit on top of your head. Heavier oils like castor oil, for example should NOT be applied daily bc your porosity does NOT need heavy oils just to seal the moisture in, unlike ladies with high porosity hair. The only reason ladies with high porosity hair are encouraged to use heavier oils is bc their constantly open cuticles need more help keeping the moisture in, which the heavier-duty oils are good for doing. Remember, low porosity means you have trouble getting the moisture (water) IN, not keeping it in. High porosity means you don't have trouble getting the moisture in (naturally open cuticles), but have trouble KEEPING IT IN. Low porosity is like a jar with a tight lid on it. Once you get the water in the jar, you're all good bc the lid will naturally close itself very quickly. The hard part is getting that stubborn lid to slide off and open/lift so that you can get the water in, in the 1st place. However, high porosity is like a jar with no lid that has a hole in it. Getting water in isn't the problem bc there's no lid to stop the water from getting in. Keeping it in is the problem bc of the hole in the jar. The best way to avoid all this confusion is to mix a carrier oil with an essential oil OR mix a few of your favorite oils together but just not using as much on your hair so that either way, the moisture is guaranteed to be sealed in one way or another. Another thing, if you are low porosity then you need to heat your oils before putting them on your hair but only during wash day. Not only will the heat ensure that the oils penetrate, but they'll also leave a thin layer of oil that'll trap the moisture no matter what else you do afterwards to wash any other products out. It's called oil rinsing and should ideally be done right after shampooing and either with the deep conditioner or after the deep conditioner. Oil rinsing is ideal for ladies who battle constant dryness and loss of moisture no matter what they do. Another thing, only by virgin organic oils. The bottle of oil you buy should only have ONE ingredient in it, which is the name of the oil itself. If you want coconut oil, then the only ingredient should be coconut. If the bottle has 10 extra ingredients then don't buy it bc those extra chemicals mixed with the organic oil cancels out all the essential nutrients that made the oil so magic in the 1st place. Another thing, be careful with pure essential oils bc many of them will cause skin and scalp irritation and inflammation if they are not properly diluted with a carrier oil. Always read the back of the bottle to browse the instructions just in case you accidentally pick up a concentrated essential oil without realizing it. This tip is moreso for new naturals who are new to the game.

Jadda Brokenberry: Fast forward to 3:10 for the list of oils in case it helps anyone :)

jackseve: I do find JBCO is phenomenal as a sealer but also used as a moisturizer and leave in too. It helps with my damaged hair and repairs the split ends. On my scalp it has helped grow, and thicken my hair. I have a huge gray patch and when I am diligent with the JBCO/Okay brand it has darkened my gray patch. I believe the brand and quality of JBCO makes a huge difference. The darker the JBCO the better it works. The burned seed adds vitamins and minerals to the oil. That is what makes it dark. Your JBCO should be Amber to dark in color and should not be translucent. A translucent JBCO has been processed too much.

Kristina Lopez: If Jojoba oil is most like our own hair sebum, wouldn't it then be closer to a moisturizing oil?

Mea S: FYI y'all Avacado oil and other special oils tend to be cheaper at Ross, Marshalls, Home Goods, and Big Lots.

Carina Paul: Sealing oils at 6:49 jbco is my favorite oil to moisturize my transitioning hair it's soft and manageable and jojoba oil I been using on my skin. I use olive oil lotion to moisturize my hair and jbco to seal it all in.

SueLocd: This was really educational. I didn't know about the differences in oils and how they work. It was good to find out that I have been using my chosen oils correctly. I use Avosoya oil from Hairveda for moisture and to seal. Since deciding to wear a buzzcut I have really noticed why these oils work for my scalp. I can continue to use the LOC method, but just using waaaay less product. Thanks again for the information!! xxx

Deirdre Gaskin: Hi. I have purchased a host of oils after watching hair videos and ayurveda recipes. I just found you as I was about to do my night time hair regimen. So I thank you so much for this because you have covered exactly what I wanted to know; which are moisturing oils and which are the sealants. I've just applied olive oil to very damp hair giving myself a few minutes massage. I then covered my hair well with jojoba oil. Last night I used a liberal amount of grapeseed oil under two plastic caps and then put on my large elastic banded cap and went to bed. I didn't like that regimen because the grapeseed oil kept running down the back of my neck. I think my hair was too wet. So tonight I did the routine I mentioned and I think it'll work better because I didn't apply the oils to soaking wet hair, and I used them correctly. This truly is a natural hair journey learning by trial and error. But, I love it and will never relax or dye my hair again.

franchesca Bebe: grapeseed oil is a good oil that penetrates the hair shaft also.

Minimal Assembly: The breakdown of each oil type was helpful and I was glad to hear how you use them in you and your daughter's regimen. Perhaps more concise and fact-based descriptions of each oil would be helpful additions for people trying to figure out which to purchase. I have type 4a/4b low porosity hair. Olive is best for me as a pre-shampoo, mixed with a final shampoo or deep conditioner since it penetrates the deepest layer of cortex. It provides softness, detangling, moisture and pliability. It can dry dull and tacky if too much is used, so best to rinse out or water rinse to evenly distribute. Avocado oil is best as a balancing leave-in for me since it provides both moisture (humectant properties) and strength (some protein). It is necessary to my styling as it helps my hair dry with its best texture, shine and least amount of frizz. It also penetrates the cuticle but not as deeply as olive oil. I mix it with my leave-in + JBCO. JBCO is best for me in small amounts mixed with leave-in for balancing (softening/strengthening) and also great in shampoos for softening tangled or dry roots. It can cause frizz in humid weather. For sealing, I use and love jojoba oil since it provides shine and definition. I use argan oil to seal also since it is longer lasting and provides more softness and pliability, but not as much shine as jojoba. I'll be trying Grapeseed next for sealing and Macadamia oil for moisture since it supposedly penetrates the deepest layer of hair.

Laura Beasley: Hi There, I first want to say that I absolutely love your videos... I've learned so much and you've given me the motivation I needed to start taking really good care of my daughters hair. My daughter has 4b type hair and I've used so many products and have tried to keep her hair in good health but I had no idea what I was doing or what the products were doing. So, I just want to say thank you so much.... With that being said I have a question... After you do a protective style on your daughter; twist are my preference.... do you use a sealant every day after you moisturize? So, for example I typically put her hair up in a style on a Sunday and then leave it in all week... every morning I moisturize it should I add a sealant afterwards daily? Thanks again

Angelica Bell: Loved this video! I've had all of the experiences that you mentioned with those oils but never realized why, i.e. coconut oil doing nothing for my hair unless mixed with something else. It all makes so much sense now. I'll be using this info. Thanks!

Dorian Parpari: I really appreciate this video. I've been natural a long time and it's great to learn something new, especially something that can improve my regimen. I've lately been using avocado oil (I buy it from Walmart) and I am still working on this big bottle I have for the past few months.

McKenna: All oils are sealants as they all repel water. They seal the hair by either coating the hair shaft or penetrating it slightly.

Ruby White: Love this one! I use olive and coconut oil in my hair growth oil as well along with other things!

Cat Lady: This video may be an archive but it’s new to me! Thank you for an easy, thought out helpful tutorial that was very informative!

Jaydah Teaunna: You did this video girl!! Super informative! Thank you, i took many notes. I can't wait to begin using the oils in my regimen..

MrChin786: Thanks so much for your clear and simple explanations. Jojoba oil is the closest to the natural cebum, natural oils that come from our skin & scalp naturally. Video was very, very helpful. I have always used the Jamaican Black Castro oil that has always worked for my hair. Details about the scalp usage with oils is very informative, and thanks for helping us know where, when & why to use moisturizing oils and sealant oils. Thanks for your time, Arlene (Miami, FL 07/30/2020)

Alexis Skidmore: Your channel is honestly my favorite hair channel. Its super helpful and I love that you use lots of natural products. Thanks!!❤

Phillipa Rodney: Thank you for such a clear breakdown, now I can love my hair a bit more and give it BOTH type of oils it desrves. God bless! Xx

Reel Reviews: Good video. I definitely use jojoba oil as a moisturizer and coconut oil as a sealant though and it works fine. However, I'm interested in seeing how JBCO would work as a sealant because I always hated how thick it was and felt like it couldn't possibly be penetrating the hair shaft.

Jazmin Jordan: Amazing, informative video! Coconut oil makes my hair greasy too, so I just use it to pre poo now. I have been using Jamaican Mango & Lime Pure Jamaican Black Castor Oil Lavender on my ends for my flat twists and cornrow braids since November 2015, and my hair loves it, but I have to make sure not use to much since it is heavy on my fine to medium stranded hair. Shawnta, where can I find great quality organic jojoba oil? I want to try Aura Cacia Sweet Almond Oil on my hair as well.

Zoë H: Just bought grapeseed oil for my hair and i’m excited. The first thing is that it doesn’t smell. I have long dreads and so scent is very important to me. It’s also light and my hair soaks it in immediately. I have 3c/4a hair. I warm up the oil by leaving it in a cup of hot water and then pour onto my head and that way the heat opens my follicles. I finally wrap my hair up in a silk scarf to allow my hair to drink up all the oil. I only apply the oil to my scalp.

Empress An: Thanks for the information. I just wanted to caution everyone that not all products that claims that they are or contain Jamaican Black castor oil is authentic. Majority of them I have found has nothing to do with Jamaica. Real castor oil is not fragrant. It has a nutty smell. The only brand I found that meets the grade is the "sunny isle brand". Hope this will help someone.

Tiffany: Grapeseed oil is my favorite! I have low porosity hair and it seals my hair so well. I can use JBCO, but lightly with Carol's daughter waves, kinks, coils line.

Memoir Young: Great video! Great information! I'm just starting my natural hair journey. I let my barber shave my hair off down to a fade 5 weeks ago. Bald on the sides and back and a little fuzz on top. It's growing like wild weed. I moisturize twice a day. In the morning I moisturize with jamaican black castor oil and blue magic hair grease (old school). In the evening I moisturize with jamaican black castor oil. My hair seems to soak up moisture overnight. Your hair is beautiful! Can't pass up an opportunity to plug while on here so go to barnes&noble.com and check out my work under Tonya Young #readabook

Simply Sarell: Thank you for doing this video! I was confused about the best way to seal the moisture in my hair.

Grace Magerz: I didn't know that there were different oils for moisturizing and sealing

Chanay Please: I'm really glad you said not to apply sealing oils to your scalp bc that could be a major mistake, I've done it once and my hair wasn't happy. It's really best to apply it to the ends of your hair, I use grapeseed oil to seal and it's really light and wonderful. Jojoba is good too but in my area it's kinda expensive so I have to settle for grapeseed. I think coconut oil is good as a moisturizing oil but for me I have to combine it with olive oil to get my hair going. But everyone's hair is different so whatever works, works.

MaryJay000: Interesting! What happens when mixing moisturizing and penetrating oils together? I.e. mixing rice bran and coconut oil or another mix of multiple oils? Will the moisturizing oils have deeper penetration, less penetration, or about the same?

alyokin: I appreciate your intelligence, it really shines through and your hair is gorgeous!

Improve my pronunciation: Thanks for clarifying this up for me. I had no idea about the different types of oils. I think this might solve most of my problem.

S Scott: Wow such an inspiration your such a guiding light on this natural hair journey!

Annabeth Walker: is it OK to mix all the oils together? I just have one bottle where I just mix everything together and I use it to do everything from prepooing, to sealing and moisturizing. Would mixing the oils make them less effective?

Nash _: Coconut oil is good to moisturise the skin but hit and miss for my hair, works best when my hair is wet

__Snazzyqauckson __: Yes olive oil is bomb my hair is hella thick so it works for me!❤️my mom has thinner hair and doesn’t like it as much though

Stacy R: Coconut oil smells so strongly however I love how it moisturises my hair longterm.

Cali k: olive oil and water is great for moisture, it lasts for days. jamaican black castor oil is great for sealing ends. cocoanut oil did nothing for my hair

Blu3 Banana princess: Thank you this video was very helpful! I’ve been using oils all the way wrong lol

Perla Marina Rodriguez: Thanks love for letting me know I was using a mix of oils for my hair it's contained more than 15 oils all together but know I'm going to die the right way

Diedra Simone: i use coconut oil to pree poo. its a great detangler. i also use it in my deep conditioner n olive oil n i use jbco n other oils on my scalp

Trina Young: Enjoyed the video Thank you for the tips because I wasn't sure which oils seal and moisturize

Briyella Bernard: Thank you so much for clearing that up cuz as a transitioner i was kinda confused about the oils. but is tea tree oil a sealant oil or a moisturizing oil

imani allen: you hair is absolutely beautiful! Thanks for video I'm starting my hair journey and this was so helpful

Samantha Nyongani: everything u said about coconut oil and olive happen to me, I totally didn't get what was wrong. you gave a lot of clarity . thank u dear

nikkib1002: This was very helpful, now I understand why certain oils work the way they do in my hair. What type of oil is monoi? I have one my carols daughter and wanted to start using it. Thanks so much for the info.

Shawntas Way: Here's a video on sealing vs moisturizing oils! Hope you all enjoy :))

Joan RamsayTerrett: One of the best clips I’ve come across; Level headed feedback and Your subscribers are the bomb!!! give me laughs; great tips and good advice✌️✨✨✨✨

Belinda King: This was very helpful .... I am trying to figure why my hair is dry all the time and it could be how I use the oil and type I am using.

Sofia: great video, informative and concise :)

Sabrina Samone: coconut oil is actually supposed to be one of those seal-in moisturizers. So it doesn't actually moisturize your hair. Whatever moisture you already have in you hair will be locked in, which is why your hair may be drying out if you're using only coconut oil. If you use coconut based products before other oils, you're essentially locking out potential moisture from all the moisturizing oils you should be using first. Also, an excessive amount of coconut based products may lead to drying as well

Ash: hi I love your videos! I have a question. my hair is really thick and curly when i try to use eco styler gel, leave in conditioner, or even a curling cream my roots are very frizzy and they don't want to lay down but the rest of my hair has curl definition from using it. What product do you recommend to get my roots to have more of a curl definition.

Keshia J: Omg I needed to see this video....I'm definitely purchasing most of them.

Zianna Zakashic: I mixed almond oil with my Shea moisture conditioner, and some purified water if the consistency is too thick. I leave it in my hear til I take another shower about two days later. Wash it out then reapply. My hair really reacts to almond oil well. It loves it. I use to use coconut oil but then I realized my hair is a bit protein sensitive. So I just add it in here and there. Even tho almond oil has some proteins in it. I find by mixing it into my conditioner and applying all at once I get the best results. My hair is so extremely soft after. And I can extend my wash days without build up or itching unlike other oils. Almond oil is light but a bit thicker than jojoba oil. It's just right for my hair and my hair really enjoys it. More than anything else I've tried. And if find following this consistent regimen with the same products has gotten me the best results. My hair has grown two inches since January.

cellyjohnson: So on freshly washed hair, which one would be best for the loc method? I would think a moisturizer for the loc method. But if you're doing the lco method, would you do a sealing oil since it's the last step?

Takyra Thornton: Love your channel you've helped so much ❤️❤️❤️

Zam Aboku: Thank you for the awesome video unfortunately I have to disagree with Castrol oil castor oil I have no idea why but it simply does not work for my hair. castor oil and always feels very heavy on my hair and I've tried many other heavy products and they seemed to work fine but castor oil does not work for my head I think that's a product that's for some good and others are not

AsheCatsup 💋: Quick question: does mixing JBCO with something like olive oil lower it’s sealing factor?

Debra Washington: Omg , thank you for this tutorial....I see you didnt mention shea butter, I guess everyone has gotten off that one.

Diane None: Very nice video! Very very helpful. I greatly appreciate your information. I am a better natural hair consumer now! You Roc!

blackCaliGirl661: I can't use coconut oil or JBC, protein is too high and makes my 4b hair(low porosity) break. But avocado oul is great because it's a light protein.

Jessalyn M: Just when I thought I was doing it right...Thanks so much for the clarification.

SugarCinnamon 22: Great video! I thought jojoba oil was a moisturizing oil lol dang it but thank you so much I love your hair

Cala Caroline: I love this. this video explains so much.

Dominique D: I loveeeee JBCO I use it on my ends when I twist my hair and it holds my ends together and seals them perfectly....I have been using olive oil to seal my hair I do feel that it holds all of my products it because my hair stays soft n defined for a few days but it could just be my products I use lol still figuring that out....coconut oil is to heavy for my hair I usually just prepoo with it...avocado oil does nothing buy dry my hair out I have tried it in so many different ways I even tried the design essential avocado oil leave in and my hair just hates avocado

jay•sin•ë•uh: So in other words, I should just top using Cantu Daily Oil Moisturizer !! lol I use Cantu and the moisturizer and seal with coconut oil (opposite of what you've mentioned). I've also found that coconut oil does t make my hair soft and I'm now wondering if it's because I use it as a sealant rather than a moisturizer. Great information here .. I'll try it your way and see what happens. Thanks for the info !!

J. Hollingsworth: great video sis!!!! Very informative. Thanks for sharing

Herb Lalanne: How many of these oils can you combine? I have 360 waves and I want to start making my own oil. Is there a combo that can moisturize & seal?

sImplyCha: I do not think that "moisturizing" oils is the appropriate term for these oils. I would mostly call them nutritious oils. Since they are able to penetrate the hair, the nutrients are also able to come through. Just my take on it.
