Curly Hair Care For Swimming | How To Protect Your Hair From Chlorine

I have gotten asked often how to protect your curls from beach water or from the pool and it's chlorine! Here is what I do to protect my hair from not only the water but also the harsh rays of the sun.

If you are interested in using an oil, READ THIS!

Applying an oil onto your hair before swimming is ideal if you are swimming in a public beach. Remember oil and water don't mix so by applying an oil onto your hair, you are helping to repel water that isn't good for your hair. I would recommend using a light oil like Jojoba Oil for finer hair and Jamaican Black Castor Oil for thicker hair types. However, if you will be swimming in a pool that is public, I wouldn't recommend using an oil, as this oil will just add to the dirty pool water. Be considerate of others around you! If it's your own pool, knock yourself out.

Remember to wash out all of the chlorine and gunk built up in your hair from the swimming you have done! Use a shampoo that contains EDTA and Phytic Acid to ensure that you are washing out all of the chlorine since chlorine doesn't rinse out with just water.

Hey yo welcome back to my channel in today's video. I'M gon na show you all how to protect your curls from your pool and the beach this summer. It'S really really easy and only takes a few and pull your steps that follow along. All you need is some conditioner with or without silicones is fine I'll show you why that doesn't matter later, you'll also need a hair tie, and a hat will also help protect your hair from drying out in the Sun. Why we're taking a break and swimming? So while I had, is it mandatory? It'S probably in your best interests in he's 1, all right, so we're full going into the water, whether it be a pool or at a beach. You want to make sure that you light your hair with tap water, completely. Think of your hair, like a sponge when it's dry, it's thirsty and it'll absorb any water that it comes in contact with that includes nasty chlorine from the pool so spoil your hair beforehand with water will prevent your curls from absorbing too much chlorine or beach water. Most pools have these showers to rinse off before hopping in so use it. Oh, you can just bring a spray bottle filled with tap water and use that too either way just make sure to fully saturate your hair, and once that's done, take some of your conditioner and slather that, in your hair, keep your hair moisturized. If you want to spend so much time in the Sun, you don't want your hair dry out to you guys, don't worry about using expensive brands, either again you're just helping to spoil the hair with a liquid and actually, if you use conditioner with silicone in it, It'Ll coat the Clairol, giving extra protection from the beach water or the chlorine and form, so, yes, don't be afraid at the silicone this time around it'll be ok besides, you'll have to wash it out later now that you're all conditioned up stick with an easy protective Style like a bun or afraid which will help prevent knots or tangles while you're taking your swim. I just wrap my hair around into a low bun to make it easier to throw a hat on later and that's really it all of these measures are important to take before swimming at a beach or hopping into a pool. Just remember that when you're taking a break from swimming to throw on a hat for added protection from that Sun - and while all of this is good to do beforehand, make sure you wash your hair very well after all of the fundament water. Since chlorine doesn't rinse out, use a shampoo that contains EDTA of fighting acid and always follow with the moisturizing, a deep conditioner I'll have a few options in the description box below, for you all so check that out, and I hope that this video was helpful thanks. So much for watching and I'll see you on the next one bye because of the fact of excessive styling or excessive heat styling. If you do have highly porous hair, then one of the best ways for you to absorb and maintain that moisture is
