Hey everyone welcome back to my channel, I'm Jamie Joe and today I'm going to be talking you through my curly hair, shower routine quickly, a few things before we help straight into my demonstration. I only like to wash curly hair once a week and the reason I do this is because otherwise my hair gets way too dry and stripped of its natural oils, so washing my hair once a week prevents my hair from being overly dry. Also, I want to disclaim that I don't follow the curly girl method. Precisely so I still use products that do have sulfates and occasionally pearl products that have silicones in them. It is a bonus when my products don't have them, but I really need a good cleanser. Coz, my hair gets a little bit oily on the scalp and I get a little bit of dandruff. So I really need a good cleanser and I'm gon na be showing you my option for that today. Not all the products I use in this video are curly girl friendly. So this is the result of my washing go today. I had to speed through this just because I have rehearsals really soon and I'm actually quite late, and I need to leave in like five minutes, so I'm talking so fast, sorry but yeah. That'S why my hair super big and fluffy today, it's not necessarily really defined, because I took a really quick time to diffuse it. If I diffuse my hair slower and more precisely, I get more defined curls, but if I don't care - and I do it quickly - I get these really big, like soft fluffy curls. So that's what I'm gon na be running you through today. I found it really hard to film in the shower, so I'm going to do a voiceover and talk you through it as much as I can so that it makes sense so guys if you want to find out what I use in the shower, how I detangle My hair, what brush I use and what product C's in the shower and then also the products are used to start my hair after the shower today make sure you stay tuned. I also quickly show you my skincare routine, a very quick snippet of my skincare routine. In this video so stay tuned guys. Thank you so much for watching this jewelry. I want to quickly tell you is from amber skates. I know people are going to ask it's not sponsored, but I just think. Oh, it is heavenly jewelry, so I'm gon na link. It below as well thank you guys for watching stay tuned to the end of the video to find out how I do this wash and go routine Rooms. Mess haven't cleaned my room, you just yet, but I what we're doing that soon and okay, I'm in desperate need of washing my hair, it's so disgusting, so itchy. I wanted to watch it wash yesterday we're not about to go into the shower, but I got it. You random quick call to rehearsal, so I didn't have time and I haven't washed it since, like Saturday and it's Thursday, and it's so eating rice and like and it stinks, that's how I'm not you my hair gets. So today we are going to do a shower routine, /, tangling routine, and I might even check my skincare at the end of the video um. I don't have a whole heap of time, so I'm gon na be rushing to get this video done before rehearsals, but yeah. I think it's gon na be super good stay tuned. If you want to find out what products I've been using in the shower and my detangling technique as well, so I'm basically just turning the water on and I'm taking my hair out of its ponytail and I start to rinse the water. Through my hair, I like to kind of pull it apart, a little bit because my hair so naughty the water doesn't reach all parts of my hair. So that's why I kind of pulled it apart. The way I did and now that my hair is fully wet, I like to add this Kristoff rubbin cleansing, purifying scrub with sea salt, so it's paraben silicon and colorant free, but I think it does have sulfates. So this is the texture. It'S actually got real grains of salt in it, which is amazing for really getting rid of that danger. So I like to put this on all the parts of my scalp and I kind of separate it so that it's um yeah, it's all over my whole head and then I start to scrub it like you do with any shampoo. So I like to really scrub my head well with this, to get rid of any excess product and to really get rid of that dandruff, and I'm sure you cannotice that I'm not putting this on lengths of my hair, I only focuses on my scalp to really Cleanse it well so the sea salt in this product, I think, is amazing to really scrub and cleanse your scalp well, and then I wash it out, but the formula does actually turn into a foamy, shampoo type, texture, so yeah, it's a really really great product. This is me realizing that you probably can't see anything, and now I'm hopping on to my conditioner. This is the cpf received for his control, smoothing conditioner from vitae 5. So because my hair is so naughty, I obviously add a really good amount of conditioner Here. I am for more, and now I like to run this on the lengths of my hair. So I don't like to put this in my scalp, but I quickly put it on the tops of my hair, but I mainly just focus on the length and I like to get it on every single part of my very, very naughty hair. So once the conditioner is thoroughly through my whole head, I like to really just quickly put it up in a bun just so that the conditioner can really soak into my hair. This is gon na make the detangling process so much easier. So, after about five minutes, I take it out and I start to detangle I like to use my tangle teezer. This is the wet detangler and I start gently by brushing the very ends of my hair, because it's easier to brush from the bottom up, and then I like to do this technique, where I kind of pull my hair apart and brush downwards on those curls. So when I pull my hair apart and I separate, I can see the knots a lot easier and I can just very gently hack at them so that I'm not ripping them out and then here we go. Look how nice and easily my hairdo tangled. So I'm doing the same thing here I just sped it up. I like to put my hair apart and then brush the little nuts downwards, keep in mind that with curly hair it gets knotty. So you are always going to have a little bit of hair loss, but this method I found has given me the least, hair loss. So here that's the amount of hair that I lost and after I hop out of the shower, I like to just run through my hair, one last time with the same, wet detangler, all right, I'm out the shower bit of skin carefully. So I love origins. This is the ultra hydrating and over the ultra hydrating energy, boosting Clem. So last time I put skincare on in my youtube videos I got shot because I was there off with my skin. I know I'm rough, some dry be more gentle favorite eye cream dab it under my eyes, like guys, told me to do so. That was my shower routine. So I'm going to just brush my hair right down the middle I'm using the Denman brush for styling today. Wet hair on my body he's of course, then so I like to just gently brush it out, because after it's been drying for a little while not to do start to form, so I'm just brushing it out to make sure there are no nuts at all before We continue on with any products cool my hair's grown. I'Ve done heaps of videos on in-depth styling routines, pop them up and the little eye for you. So I'm not going to go too intensely into this part of my routine, I'm just going to start to style. My hair, I'm using John Frieda products. This is trim curls, curl, defining cream under there frizz East drinkers line. I guess and just like halfway down my hair, I think I put a little bit too much. Oh that's fun, get those ends. Cuz they're dry, really remembering to start from the crown of my hair as well, because I always forget - and I have no volume there - all right cream is in gon na wipe the excess off. Now, I'm gon na add in the mousse. So my favorite combo for styling, my particular type of hair, is a cream and a mousse. So this is the dream curls frizzies mousse from John Frieda. I find that they work all greatly together, which makes sense because they are in the same line. This is how I do it run through. I'M really gon na make sure that mrs. o throughout my hair, and now I like to take a tiny little bit more really small them out. I like to stop to scrunch my curls with this, and you want to hear this sound all righty, really getting those curls scratched. Hmm, I like to quickly fix my French. No we've got it. So that's my quick shower routine and my very quick styling process, because I want you guys to go and watch the proper video I'm gon na speed dry, my hair, as I don't have an excess amount of time. So it might be a little bit more voluminous and fluffy then defined today. Just because that's how quickly I'm gon na have to diffuse my hair today, but I'll be back to show you the results and love those products are used in the shower and I think they're really really great, okay, lovely. So that is my hair done. It is tried, I love these results. I love it when it's just big fluffy and curly um. It is a little bit damp still like the moisture, isn't fully out of my hair, because I didn't have a super super long time to dry it today, but um yeah. I really love the results: they're just super nice, fluffy and big um. I has definitely quite soft right now, so when you're, when you freshly just wash your hair, I don't recommend touching and playing with it too much, don't put it up the first day you wash it so on day, one of washing your hair, don't put it up Because you're gon na squish, the curls and then they're gon na be super super fuzzy the next day, so you want to leave it out as much as possible. The only thing you really want to do is shake it, just a tiny bit at the roots and not too much because then it will go. Super super fluffy and soft, so just a little bit at the roots yeah. So just try not to play with it too much on the first day of your wash day, okay guys, so I hope you really enjoyed my shower routine. I filmed this super quickly, so I hope didn't rush through anything, but I love these results. The products I use are amazing, so make sure everything is lit below and but yeah. The main things are just be super gentle when you're detangling, your hair, find it with the tangling brush. I highly or makeup. I highly recommend the tangle teezer. You want a really good, shampoo, slash cleanser, and I love that one, because it's so good at getting rid of product build-up and dandruff, and it gets rid of any itching. This in my hair, especially because my hair is quite thin for it to be curly, and then you want to find a super super, moisturizing and conditioner. So that is my main routine that I use pretty much all the time I only wash my hair once a week, but I'm sure I already went through with that. So, thank you guys for watching make sure you subscribe to my channel and check out my other videos. I have heaps and heaps and heaps on curls. I have a whole cup. I have a whole playlist, but I have a whole playlist curl. I have a whole playlist called curls by Jamie Durie, so make sure you go check that out. I love you guys, I think you're always for watching bye.

Tess: Detangling tip: after letting your conditioner sit detangle your hair ends to root directly under the water and it detangle my hair SO FAST. I used to detangle it out of the water because I thought if I got it wet the conditioner wouldn't work but it does :) I'm not a professional but it doesn't feel like I'm damaging my hair when I do this

lil Meadow land: I use to be so scared of when a lot of hair would fall out when I brushed it in the shower-but thanks to learning about curly hair more- I now remind myself that it is normal for a lot of hair to fall out because we don't brush our hair as often as others

Montana Hoover: You’ve have completely helped me change my daughters hair game! I am so grateful I found your channel!!!! What products do you recommend for 3 type hair without applying heat? She’s 5 and I’m not ready to start applying heat yet!!

Atma Khalsa: Hi Jayme, I've been watching your videos for a while now and you've really helped me understand how to style my hair properly - so thank you. I wanted to point out that some of the products you recommend contain ingredients that can damage the hair, irritate the scalp, and cause cancer. I have checked a number of your recommendations on the Think Dirty app and CosDNA and they aren't looking too clean. Just wanted to throw that out there. I also noticed that you recommend a DevaCurl gel, which is currently being hit with a class-action lawsuit. Thanks and love.

paperjourni: thanks to your videos I finally got control of my curls! thank you SO MUCH for the tipps!

Tess: 10:28 I do all these things rip but curls are so fun to play with

Solange: I also had an itchy scalp and stopping sulfate really helped me! Sulfate is a false friend, by using it you won't have dandruff in the short term but in the long term this might be the reason you have some I advise you to download an app which analyze the ingredients of your product, it really opened my eyes on how bad a lot of products are :)
