Relax relax guys, it's just me, it's just made by Mel here. I know hardly recognizable, because I had that on my head, everybody believe it or not. I'M ashamed to say that this this thing on my head. This is only day two here. My head is a problem today, I'm going to fix it. This video is going to demonstrate for you all how to refresh your hair without washing it and also when you would actually do this and why you would do it and how to do it. And when and move through what and where? Okay, so if you've been watching me for a while, you know I never refresh my hair unless it is absolutely necessary and if it gets to the point where your hair needs to be washed. Well, then, you should just wash your hair. However, it's only day two, my hair is still clean. It still smells nice, so I don't want to wash it again because that's just gon na dry it out and it's unnecessary and redundant that ball, that's cute, so I'm going to take a water bottle. Now, like I said, if you're here is the point where it's dirty and there's a lot of buildup in the hair, maybe it's not dirty, but there's just a lot of product build-up then I would not recommend you do this. I would recommend that you just stick your head in the sink and rinse it out that way. I can do this. I can just read wet my hair, because for this wash day I had used my Abeyta products on the back. I read the ingredients. The first thing reading in these products, this water - that's great. When I see my product, the first ingredient is water. I know that it's activated by water, so by spraying my hair, not wetting him wetting it in the stick, is just going to kind of let all the moisture that you have in there rinse out by dampening it with the spray bottle. It'S going to reactivate it and I'm just going to make sure that everything is saturated. You got to do it so now, I'm nice and wet I'm going to take only a little bit of the product because I know there's already product in there. I just got to reactivate it a little bit, so I'm going to take small amount like so, and I'm even sweat down even more and make sure that it's wet enough that the product is going to saturate through. Even though we're not putting a lot of profit. We still want to make sure it gets all around the hairs yeah. So again, I'm only adding a little bit because I know there's already product in there, and I can only really do this because my product is made out of water. That'S the first ingredient in this case you would continue to apply your product as normal. I take my brush and I comb through the product and I'm only detangling, because my hair is wet and this smooths all of the hairs together. So we get a frizz free result. Now, I'm just going to break up brush note, curls, okay, anything me and that's it refreshed not yet refreshed receive this action throughout your head. The reason why I don't like the spray, the hair and then apply product is because I just find your hair needs to be thoroughly wet because you're, just gon na create freeze. That'S the reason why I never like to refresh I don't refresh because I usually don't have to, but if I have to I'm going all out so like I said this is very unlike me, I very rarely have to refresh my hair because they to is one Of my best days, however, due to a series of unfortunate events, my hair got mangled, and Here I am to refresh it. Okay, now that I've worked through my cream, I will apply a little bit of my gel. This is my protective barrier. My gel is very liquidy, so I can do this, it's the convicts your gel, and that's it pretty easy to do it takes about five to ten minutes. This is just how I like to do it. I find that I'll get frisky results. If i refresh this way - and I can only do it because my products are water-based - and I only did it because my hair was clean, thank you guys for tuning in. I hope you learned something new today and if you want to learn something new next week and next week and next week and next week and every Tuesday keep tuning and I'll see you all right. Oh, we have a project, I'm just gon na give this a second to stop doo doo and now I can go the rest of my week. Scotch free roll back

Colbey Lawson: I love how she acts like her 2nd day curls are a mess when they are literally a beautiful mess of bouncy ringlets that I would kill for. You’re blessed girl great video! I normally rinse my hair in the shower again, but I’ll try the spray bottle method and see how it works...

Anysha: One day she’s going to make her own product I just know it

Sylena: I appreciate your goofy personality Everyone’s usually so “prime and perfect” on tutorials but you keep it real and funny

Michelle Lukic: Thank you for sharing your knowledge Mel. I'm getting lots of compliments on my hair since I started using your techniques. Not only are you informative but you are also very entertaining...and beautiful! You're a star ! Keep up the good work

Kari Roegge: You just explained soooo much to me. Thank goodness for you Mel. When refreshing I put in more product and my hair becomes all crazy and stupid and although I brush it to detangle, after I am done refreshing it all, my hair is a tangled mess. I’m gonna do exactly this next time and see what happens.

Sharon Selfridge: HILARIOUS! That’s exactly how I react to my reflection every morning I’m trying to embrace my curls after straightening my hair for around 15 years. I’m 3 weeks in and needing a trim , so I have the “little old lady” vibe going on Does anyone have tips for growing curly hair without looking like a complete puff ball?

Barbara Hall: I really appreciate this video! I am 61 years old, I grew out my four year old pixie and now I have curls! I’ve never had curls! Stick straight until my 40’s when a wave arrived and now this and I love it! I need help figuring this out! My stylist is helping me AND I’m scouring the internet for tips so thank you for your videos!

khadija zehra: Mell your personality is infectious. I cant help watching your videos because they are so entertaining. Love you

jerylinn flordelis: her videos are so simple yet effective. I just came from a almost 20 minute curl refresh video

Stephanie Solingen: Thank you so much for this video. I had a family portret photos shoot, this morning, and your reaction (intro) from this video was actually mine this morning. I've fixed it. And my curls looked fabulous. BTW: this was the first time I ever took formal pictures with my curly hair.

ImperialBee Crochet: Lol one day, I was wanting to start retraining my hair, moisturizing, frizz-less, and just let my curls be themselves! I searched YouTube and boom there you were! you literally are the best hair tutorial creator I’ve ever seen! Yes! Like the Intro, I literally went from flab to abs because that’s me right now! Oh man! I couldn’t stop laughing, watched the intro I think at least 10 times before I said “CiCi, you came here for a reason!” Thank you so much! My hair has been looking so fine because watched your vids! Oh man!

YomiA 0802: I’d usually only add this spray to reduce my frizz in the morning and it looks okay but my curls aren’t as nice on the second day so this helped a lot so thank you, now I know how to refresh my curls without needing to wash my hair almost everyday.

Dalana Quintana: Thank you so much! My hair looks so bad by day two or three that I was considering giving up curly girl altogether. But I really feel encouraged that this will help.

Sasha Maldonado: I love your vids. I've been on the curly journey for 9 months now to revive what I was killing for so many years and I can't even tell you how many videos I've watched on curly hair routines. but YOU... are the ONLY one I've seen who has the EXACT hair that I have, like no one else comes close!! so I'm so glad I found you, so I can bring my hair to the next level. Thank you! You are also just super entertaining and fun to watch

TheSteev95: Hey ! Thank you for the videos and laughter. I was wondering: What about after sweating at the gym? Or when you swim during the week in a pool for exercise? Any additional tips for refreshing or protecting the curly hair for those situations? Please any suggestions are welcome : D

Christina Kyle: Too funny but still educational.❤️ thank you for not being boring!!! Btw, beautiful hair!

Sarah M: Seriously girl. Bless you for this video. Love this hack and how to video. I accidentally fell asleep on my hair and it went flat

Beverly Schwaller: I just started watching your videos and I'm hooked. You make it so interesting and fun to watch. Most videos are boring and drawn out but your videos are actually fun AND educational. Thank you for taking the time to try and help us curly girls figure this stuff out. I'm still not sure what is going to work for me but I'm trying to find that out. Please keep posting and I will continue to watch. What state do you work in? Not sure if your at a salon by me too book an appointment

Morgan ATKINSON: I love your videos! I'm not a curly but my 11 year old daughter is and your videos have been a wealth of info for us!!

Senya Jani: Suuper helpful . Thanks for sharing, Mel! I’ve been so jazzed to find curlies like you, who understand the hair science and the methods and then DEMO the methods. I have learned so so much. My healthy curls thank you .

Layan Alamri: Your day 2 hair is even better than my best hair day

farida Diaa: you're doing it and explaining it in a simple way.. glad i found this video since i struggle alot with refreshing and hate seeing others just spraying some water and some leave and they end up with perfect curls. i mean whenever i do it i end up with frizz as i've been doing it wrong

Christina Mitsios: Would you diffuse your hair or let it dry naturally after you have refreshed it ? Love your channel and so thankful I found it! I loved your video on why you don't follow the CGM, I was reading about it and even joined some FB groups and it got really overwhelming, so watching your video helped put my mind at ease about not having to follow it completely. Thank you.

Anna Konopka: I have wavy hair but I still follow these vids. Your personality is amazing and you know your stuff!

R M: Man, I'd be stoked as hell if - after I got done styling and fiddling with it - my hair looked HALF as good as yours does at the BEGINING of this video. I struggle!

Caitlynn Bright: Love your videos! I've had curly hair my whole life but because my mom has pin striaght hair I have never known how to properly care for my hair. Now at 30 I finally know how thank you!

Sam Dean: Hi Mel I’m new to your channel and I love your videos already!! You are so informative about what you do and why and it’s great!! I just want to ask, my curls are not as tight as yours (some are but most are chalk size) and it’s quite fine. Would you recommend your own personal methods of washing/styling/diffusing/refreshing for my type 2C to 3C curls? Broad range I know but they are sooo different! TIA Sam xx

April B.: What do you think about haircuts for curly hair? Dry or wet? I’ve had several Devacurl dry haircuts and think my layers are uneven and will go back to a wet haircut next time. Very helpful video for refreshing and I will try using the wet brush. Do you also use it on wash day when applying styling products? Thanks

Soul Savage Ministries: Ty for ur videos Mel!! I have learned so much from u on my healthy hair journey. Forever grateful. And u always make me smile so it’s a win win✔️

Melissa De La Rosa: Cute. You explain why when I do this to my son’s hair it seems to work. I do not have to wash his hair when it looks crazy, but smells clean his hair looks similar to yours. Now I will do this routine more often and not feel like I NEED to wash every three days.

Ana Laura: The first seconds of the video... I FELT THAT. IT IS SO ACCURATE OMG. Thanks for the video! Love it.

H F: for me this really helped!! Thanks a lot. All I did was spray my hair, make it a bit moist, took out a little bit of aloe vera gel, smoothed it through and scrunched it through while hanging upside down. I am no poo for a few years now so I'm not using all the products you're using but for me this worked great, thanks!

Sariah Felix: wow this was sooo helpful. wasn’t sure how to refresh properly thank you

Cecilia Baldi: I've tried this technique on me a few times and...I'm in love with it! Thank you so much❤️. A fan from Italy

Person The-Person: 0:02 is what my good hair day looks like

MrsWoods511: All of you that say you can’t brush because you get frizz, you may need more water. And then like she said you add a little more product. I have also found that if you saturate the curls then either scrunch or finger define the problem areas, the old product will reactivate. My hair is very fine but very thirsty so it doesn’t take much for me but I learned I just needed a little more water. MEL I ❤️YOU! You are my hair twin and inspiration!

TeachAllAboutIt: I've been following the CG (ish) method for a while & my 2b/2c curls are back. Most of the groups go apoplectic at anyone who suggests using, or even giving side eye to a brush (even when wet). It's clearly working for you! Is brushing out just for bigger curls / waves?

Love Lilly: 4 my day 2+curls, I have been doing a bottle method too . Add to water a conditioning agent & alcohol free curl booster shake , spray & diffuse or Air dry=STYLE

Molly Fitz Brown: Thanks for the tips! I’ll give this method a try in the morning ☺️

Tina Adams: I have short curly hair and I have no choice but to refresh every morning. There's no getting around it.

Diana Palacios: Holy ! Just tried this refresh and my curl definition is amazingly crazy different with just a little extra product and water. Luv your method of diffusing, it makes so much sense.

Ailene Taveras: My hair is very dry and I usually have to refresh almost everyday, I normally tie it up in the night because I don’t have satin pillows or a bonnet yet to protect, I see you and a lot of the people in the comments don’t have to do this, would you say it’s bad to refresh and moisture hair on a daily if I wake up with it dry most of the time ?

Togi Bear: *OH MY LAWD* was anyone else horrified when she started to brush her hair? Like I get why she would. I understand that her hair looks fantastic but GIRL if a comb or a brush touches my hair, you best believe it's wash day for me.

Virginia Williams: Love your video and your personality!! Thanks for the tips

Sister Sista: I do not really like using a diffuser because it tends to loosen my curls if I over do it. However it does boost up volume.. I also combine argan oil and Cantu cream to tighten my curls... CURL POWER

Jane Doe: I really love your hair. My niece has the same hair but her mother keeps on cutting her hair by a dude that doesn't know how to cut curls, the poor girl walks around with triangle hair. It makes her insecure so she constantly wears her hair in a tight bun on her head what causes breakage.

Ana Lobo Esteticista: You funny! And bring a lot of useful information! But I can’t imagine the work you have editing the videos I do mine so simple and it takes me a lifetime so ahahaha Congratulations ❤️

Jaimie Khatam: My #1 favorite curly girl YouTuber!❤

Berchy Zgb: I would love to have curls like yours, mine are looser. Doesn't look this good your hair is amazing

Ellen Winkle: Mell! I’m LOVING your help. However...almost ALL of my frizz is at the crown/roots. What should I do? What do I need? Is it breakage?!

Kelly R: I absolutely LOVE your personality! And your hair techniques my question is this, I currently put my gel on in the shower(I'm in early transition) my hair gets frizzy as heck if I dont, but how can I tame the frizz without so much gel? My hair gets so still and the cast dont all break off. I have not HIGH porosity but darn close

Flora M. TAN: new subbie here. love your videos! honest and original.

Hannah Parmley: Mel! Help! The front of my hair looks good all week, but the back of my head looks stringy by day 2 or 3 :( what should I do?

Rafael Reyes: My hair has been looking way better after taking in some of ur tips and tricks

Tatiana Litzow: Hi Mel! Have been binge watching your videos...had a question...do you have a video talking about alcohols in gels? I'd love to know if it is true that alcohols are all bad or, if as you shown in other videos, there are different types of alcohol and some that are ok. Thanks a lot!

Noemie: This is exactly what I look like when I wake up too!

Star 123: 1:17 she begins wow, she combs her hair

Marissa: Is your routine for refreshing your curls (if needed) still the same?

Yaitza Hernandez: I’m still confused about how to refresh and reactivate curls beyond day 1. Do you use any leave-in or are you going straight to the defining styling product and skipping the leave-in step? Sorry, I’m still very new to this process.

Kat: I’ll try this! Thank you

Hanan Taha: This is great. Thank you!

K S: Impressive sister. Love your channel!!

Nice Girl Jenn: Question: I fail at refreshing n being that I am 4 mths into my curly hair journey, most of my top layer is limp and looks more limp next morning. If you have to spray ur hair wet to refresh.. couldn’t I just rinse fully in shower?

Katherine Portillo: Whenever i try to refresh my hair and spray water its like instead of looking better it frizzes up WAAY more

Sarah A.: Just found you. Subscribed right after watching this! Gorgeous, informative & hilarious!

Deborah Sobo: What about after working out? That's my biggest prob. I can go 3-4 days if I don't work out. But the bun and the sweat make it last ehhh 2...in a gross way.

Donna Ferris: I just love your personality! You are so much fun to watch

ANNA B: Question what about for long hair do you recommend perhaps maybe just doing a shower for a little bit on your hair after like a work out? So my issue is I wash my hair every 2 to 3 days I work out every day after a work out you know you still have some sweat and oil which is great for the hair but it kind of gets kind of nasty inside the scout. So should I just shower and just rinse my hair and maybe add some more conditioner? Please advise and you’re great. Exclamation

Nicole Smith: If I spray my hair with water, or it rains, I get an insane amount of frizz no matter what product I use. I'm more of a wavy than a curly.

Rachel Massie: Omg I almost dropped my phone I was so shocked when you picked up the brush I never would have thought you could brush curly hair (other than in the shower full of conditioner) and NOT screw it up and create frizz. I’m pretty new here, I’ve only watched a few of our videos so far, someone shared your diffusing one in a Facebook curly group I’m part of, and now I’m hooked! Thanks for putting out great curly content and keep up the good work!

stellawil: I love your personality. I just found your channel.

Rachael Alyatim: why is ur day two my day one

earthmama daisychain: I love your videos! U are teaching me ways to healthily take care of my hair! Gid so much I didnt know, what a difference!!

Tessa Gray: When I brush my hair it get' s frizzy and straight and my curls go away what can I do to refresh my hair on the second day without the brush?

Sandra De Leon: You are awesome in the way u teach and explain just priceless

Rachael Hasan: I sleep with a satin bonnet but my hair ends up flat and loses its curl in the morning!! Even if I just did it the night before. How to do I prevent this? I feel like I had better curls when I went to bed with it wet on a cotton pillowcase.

spirals 73: I'm so frustrated. I washed my hair yesterday and tonight I went out for a walk in the fog. It's a total frizz ball. I feel like I'll have to rinse, condition, and start all over tomorrow. Or wear it up for a few days. Prbably be the latter because keeping curls is too much work.

Cassie Mac: Loved this video neeeeeeded it this morning and had a fun time watching it had to subscribe just by your personality

Julianna Cesario: How do you *not* get your hair mangled throughout the day , putting it in buns/ ponytails, but more keeping it together over night? Do you just spray it with water and rescrunch most the time or??

sara ahmed: Doing this right now because I’m in day 3 and my hair still clean and actually I’m too lazy to wash and style again

Genesis Nieves: ❤️Hey Mel, can you make a video on rice water for hair growth? Greetings from Puerto Rico!

plantperson: My day 2 hair is greasy i used to shampoo 2-3x a week for years and it didnt help I have 2b/2c wavy curly low porosity, very long (layered) thick hair. Straight on top and a widows peak which makes me parting a challenge. Any advise?! **my hair is better since watching your videos! VERY helpful

Aya El.Wattar: How to make sure combing through it wont cause frizz when hair dries?

Roosiel Agramonte: I can’t do this my hair is so long. There’s no way I’m putting a brush through it without massive amounts of conditioner.

Danielle J.: such great tips!

Amanda Krug: Your hair is gorgeous!

Devilish Shouq: I did that and the results are even better than the first day ????? Wow

DanJen H: @Manes by Mell, where did you get that particular spray bottle to fill with water? Ive only seen those types for air freshners.

Aleksandra Pniewska: You are soo funny Last seconds of this video made my day

Mercy G: Your hilarious and talented. Happy to have found you. Speaking my curl language.

Naomi Hazard: I dont know why you don't have more subbies! You're stunning and hilarious

Go-Diva Review: Oh Mell....to dry shampoo or not to. THAT is my question. I dont like dry shampoo, and as a matter of fact I shouldnt even show interest. "Everyone's doing it Mell." Butttt curly-iocity (see what I did there?), piques my innate nature to just know things. I love your videos. My hair type is very similar. So rock on gf. But answer all of my questions, because I NEED ANSWERS! Peace out, Alicia (Ah,lish,ah). No 'leesh to be found." Thank God. Yeah so do you recommend dry shampoo?

MOTHER SPIDERS: You said you never refreshing your hair because your day 2 is your best hair day, so what did you do wrong for it to look like that on 2 day and needed to be refreshed? I'm curious to know what to avoid. Thank you so much for everything!

Dancing Delilah: I decided to follow you just now because you're so cute & bubbly! Oh.....and because I need some tips and how to's on caring for my type 2C curly waves.

Hope Bullard: I'm on day 4. How do you make it look so amazing

Leanna Rose: If your products are not water based, what would you do then?

Samurai9: I'm loving this channel for the humor. Oh & the tips.

Holly Miller: Did you diffuse it again after, or just let it air dry?

sara_sc28: did you air dry your air after ? or its better deffiusing it?

Geraldine Tuiran: first video im watching and automatically subscribed after 3 seconds of the intro :')
