Cantu Review|Curly Hair Routine| Curly Girl Method

This video is an unsponsored CANTU Curly Hair Products routine & review. I always thought that this brand would be too heavy for my hair, but I think I found the winning combo. My hair feels so soft & healthy. I was so happy ..... UPDATE this line has been discontinued

I bought everything shown in this video at Sally and it was 25% off. Everything shown came to 43$ including the deep conditioner (Which I returned)

Hey guys curly Susie here from Cape Breton Nova, Scotia and, as you can probably tell, I have a really bad cold, but I can't put this video off any longer. I'M just so excited to show you guys my hair routine, using all Cantu products and to talk all about these products. If you follow me on instagram or if you watch my channel already, you know that none of these hair product videos are sponsored so everyone. So while companies do send me free products - and sometimes I review them but all of these products - I just went out and purchased on my own, and I prefer to do that because I don't feel any obligation to tell you that I, like the products, if I Don'T like them or to kind of show them in a positive light. That being said, I don't do videos on products that I absolutely hate, because I just don't feel like coming on here and trashing hair product companies, so the products that I do do in my videos, I just said - do do which is hilarious. The products that I do do are normally products that I tried and that I actually liked. I don't want this intro to be super long. So what I'm gon na do now is I'm gon na cut to the products and show you how I apply them and how I got this hair look and I'm gon na talk all about what I liked it when I didn't like and what products I think You should try and what products you should avoid from the Cantu brand. The first thing that I loved is this txt are or texture shampoo. By can, I think this is new anyway. This says apple, cider, vinegar and tea tree soothing, shampoo, it fights dryness and soothes itching. So I don't really have like really bad flakey or HG scalp, but I do have dry skin. So I get those fine fine little flakes and my scalp is always like slightly irritated. This really really works so well. The only thing that's going to be weird for some of you guys, if you try for the first time is it has like a watery liquid consistency and you're gon na see that, in the part of the video, where I show me using this and how I Used it. The other thing is that it contains, like I said, tea tree oil and apple cider, vinegar. So do not get it in your eyes. It just like crazy, but it does tingle your scalp. It left my scalp feeling really clean and like soothed like it says, on the bottle, and it did not dry my hair out at all. So I use this three times in one week this week, just because I was experimenting with it, which is a lot more than I would normally like shampoo. My hair and my hair is not dried out whatsoever. I absolutely love this. Some of the good ingredients in a tower apple, cider, vinegar, shea butter, spearmint oil, tea tree oil, oak kernel, extract and aloe, I loved it. I did try Cantu as regular shampoo. I forget what it's called, but I'm just gon na put it on the screen here and I found it left my hair like way too clean. So my hair was squeaky clean. It felt dried out, it lathered a bit too much for me and I just didn't care for it, but I do love the texture line, shampoo and that's a new shampoo, so I'm really excited for some of you guys to try it next on the list. Is the conditioner and I tried a couple of the Cantu conditioners and I found them all very heavy, and so they weighed my hair down and I had like less of a curl and more of a wave which I don't mind sometimes. But I had no volume and my hair just looked overly producti. I know that some people love can't use conditioner. So I'm not telling you not to try it. I'M just suggesting that if you have like a finer textured hair like I do, you might want to try this one first, and this is the same text here or texture. By can this is leave-in or rinse out again, which I like, because sometimes I like to use a leave-in conditioner mixed with my gel for a styling product. So I loved this conditioner the fact that you can leave it in or rinse it out. It has no silicone, no sulfate, no mineral oil, no parabens in a shea butter, spearmint oil and canola oil, but it is not an oily feeling, conditioner whatsoever. So don't let the word oil fool you. It just left my hair, really soft and really shiny and I'm gon na show in the video in a minute exactly how I applied it. The only thing I will mention is that some of these products in this one included has poly quad senator poly quad trim. I don't know how to frickin pronounce that but anyways they have poly quantonium or whatever polyglots in them - and I mentioned this in another video there's nothing in the curly girl handbook about not using poly clots, but some people will say on the message forwards and everywhere That they can build up on the hair. They do create a little tiny bit of a film or a little tiny bit of shine on the hair. But I actually really like that and they're not as heavy as a silicone, so they rinse out fairly easily with a sulfate free shampoo. So I do not mind using products with poly quats in them. But if you do like to avoid poly cotton, your products - you may not like this - I just have to tell you that, but I absolutely love the results from this. I'Ve been using this all week and just using sulfate free, shampoo or conditioner to wash my hair, and I have no product build-up. My hair feels very light and very healthy, so I loved this and I will probably be replacing my regular trays ma conditioner with this or going back and forth, I'm not sure yet, but yeah. This is a must try for styling for the purpose of this video. I use these two products together. This is the Cantu shea butter, moisturizing curl activating cream. This has no sulfates, silicones, parabens or mineral oil curly girl approved. Does this have Polly Watson and I think it does so the same thing. This has Polly quartz in it, but again I have no problem with Polly quads and I will continue to use products with Polly quant in them, but anyway this is a curl cream. I posted a post about it on Instagram and I got hundreds of comments. People either love this or hate this, but the people that love it really love it, and I have a strong feeling that the people that hate this are using too much of it. I only used a very small amount, as you're gon na see in the little demo video, and it does not weigh my hair down. My hair feels so light and fluffy and moisturized and soft, and also the other thing I wanted to mention - is that, after using this for the first time in my whole life, my second day, hair looked curly, so normally my second day hair. When I wake up in the morning, I take my hair out of my pineapple, and my hair is virtually straight. It has no definition, it has no shine, it looks dried out and I have to completely sulk it and refresh it again or get in the shower and do my whole shower routine again. So after using this product and sleeping on it, my hair felt soft. My hair did not feel way down and I still had some curl definition, so I love this again. I love this and I will definitely be replacing my diva curl creams with this. Only because look at the size of the bottle it comes in this was seven dollars and I used tiny amounts of this and got great results. So I love that this is affordable and easy for a lot of you to get, and I just love the results from this. This was kind of like my least favorite product that I chose, but I wanted to do a full can't, hair video for you guys and again. If somebody from Cantu is watching this, please send me free products because I feel like I deserve them like. I love these and I'm doing a really good job of promoting these right. Now I wanted to make you a full can't hair routine today, but if I'm gon na be perfectly honest moving forward, I am going to be using these three products and then finish it off with my regular bioterror gel, and the only reason for that is that I didn't feel like this gave me a lot of hold and a lot of volume, and so I tried these products mix with the bioterror and I got an even better result, but I did really like this. If you want a one product line routine, this is kind of a weird gel. It'S called a stay glue gel and when you mix it in your hand, it feels kind of gluey. But then, when you go to apply to your hair, it has a ton of slip which was kind of neat like a neat feeling it made my hair feel really soft. It just doesn't have a ton of hold, but I really did still liked this product. There'S one product that I want to talk about that I'm not going to continue to use and maybe it'll help. Some of you newbies learn a little bit about the curly girl method, but this is the Cantu shea butter, deep treatment masque. So this is a hair mask, it has no sulfate, no silicone, no paraben and no mineral oil. So you look at this. You think like okay, this is curly girl approved and all these products are great. So this is probably great. The only thing that I don't like about this product that I want to and you a boat, is that there is beeswax in this. Let'S see and it's like pretty high on the ingredients list, so one two three four, the fifth ingredient in this is beeswax, and I just know from experience that beeswax is extremely hard to remove from your hair. This is actually the only Cantu product that i've used in the past, so I bought this when I first started. The curly girl method before I realized that beeswax is a no-no, is using this as a deep conditioning mask and then I was just Co, washing my hair and using sulfate free shampoo, and I could not get the wax out of my hair. So that's why you want to avoid beeswax. It'S because you're gon na have to use sulfate to get it out of your hair and then you're stripping the wax and like the natural oils and everything out of your hair. So I'm gon na go to Sally actually and return this, but I just wanted to mention that and just talked a little bit about waxes so - and this is probably a great product for somebody who's not following the curly girl method. Cuz, it's very moisturizing. It'S just not for me and not for a lot of you guys. Probably here is when I would normally either diffuse my hair or let my hair air dry. You can do either I've been trying to let my hair air dry a lot more lately, because it's a little gentler on my hair. Look at this guy, but anyway, I am going into the studio today. The creatives loft and I'm off today and I have the opportunity to just let my hair air dry, what I normally do when I'm heading out the door is, I just take a little bit of hair in the front and loosely clip it up and maybe a Little bit on the side and loosely clip it up like so, and sometimes I'll put a third one in and all either use like just little small clips or a bobby pin, and that helps my roots to dry a little bit quicker. And it also gives me a bit of fun: I'm gon na come back very soon, once my hair is dry and I'll, tell you everything about the Cantu products. So these are my final results. I'Ve been using this hair routine for over a week now, and as I mentioned, the only thing I plan on changing is that, instead of using the Cantu gel, I'm gon na use my regular bioterror gel, but these are my results. My hair is very shiny. My curls are nice and defined. The most important thing for me is that my hair feels very soft and healthy um without losing definition. If I part my hair on the side, I have a lot of nice volume or if I want to create more volume, I could have clipped my roots a little bit longer, but I feel, like my hair has movement. It has bounced it's shiny, it's curly. It'S basically everything that I want in a hair product, and so I'm gon na leave links to purchase these products in the description box below they are not affiliate links. I do not make any money by you following these links. I just want to make it easy for you to try the product. I hope you like this video. I hope it was helpful, give it a thumbs up if you liked it, you can give it two thumbs down if you didn't like it, subscribe to my channel for more curly, hair and now fitness videos - and I will see you very soon in my next video Bye, hey, do you want to say hi

Tiffany Austin: The curl activator cream is my holy grail. It curls my hair like no other!!! I use it allll winter. A little goes a long way for sure

Juwan Gaines: I absolutely love this video! I’ve used some of these products before, and I got to say I love using the cantu curl activator cream in my videos! I called it the holy grail in one of my routines thank you

Cat Bee the Dragon-Sidhe: Susie laughs at herself saying "do do" and I can't hit "like" fast enough.

Alex Burns: I 100% adore the curly activator. I had actually stopped using it because it weighed down my hair, but just recntly tried again with a fraction of the amount ( I'm talking a pea-sized amount as opposed to a quarter-sized amount)and it really helped! It tends to be my experience with most Cantu products that less is more, which is great because they are so affordable anyway, but you really can get the most bang for your buck with them.

Rachel Walker: I love the curl activator cream! I use it as a refresh product! I just wet my hair at night, put some in by scrunching, and then put it in a loose bun. It leaves me with volume and pretty curls

Radha’s creations: I was waiting for this video desperately ! For some reason the products you suggest works really well for my hair too! I bought the tresemme conditioner yesterday and used it as cowash and worked wonders. I am planning to purchase the Cantu shampoo and conditioner now. I think Bioeterra gel is the best gel I have used in my 9 month curl journey and I’m going to stick to it. Thanks a lot for doing this

Britta Feyerabend: I completely agree about the curl activator. After you mentioned it, I used less and my hair definitely benefits from it! Great product!

Dee Kay: The TXTR line also includes a gel and a cream, you can find them at Ulta. They’re both too heavy for me, but my hair is 2a/2b, fine and high porosity. You probably wouldn’t like the gel (it’s not very gel’y, if that makes sense... kind of a thick texture), but you may enjoy the curl cream, which feels moisturizing.

Kristin Bullock: Thanks for the review. I’ve never tried Cantu products only bc I’ve heard they’re too heavy. But the shampoo looks interesting. And you can’t beat the price on the curl cream - if it works! But Sally’s always takes returns if not. Thanks for the review Susie!

MrsHNKeller: Your little boy is adorable. ♥️ Thank you for the Cantu review. I have the curl activator and yes, in the past I used too much product, but today I used it again and got great big fat defined soft curls. Yay! Looking forward to trying both the Txtr shampoo and conditioner.

Nellie White: hey Susie! I haven't tried the Txtr stuff, but I love the curl activator cream, define and shine custard, and twist and lock gel. I like that it's so cheap and you get a lot of product. always makes my hair soft and shiny. Great video.

Stephanie Hewett: The Bioterra gel and Cantu curl activator have been working wonders on my hair. I get great definition and my hair stays soft. I’m hoping it continues to hold up as we head into summer and the humidity kicks into high gear.

Ilene: I've neglected my very curly hair over the past year. Brushed it with hate and threw it in a frizzed out ponytail. It was co washed out just rinsed at best. Don't judge, I've been really ill. I decided to do something about this and decided to get a diffuser to use for the first time in my life. I bought the Cantu curl activator and Define and shine custard simply because they were listed as "also bought" by people who bought the diffuser. I know I've used too much curl activator, but it's an absolute godsend.

Katrina Petty: I've been using that TXTR shampoo for several months now and I LOVE it! I don't have a flaky scalp, but I find that it's great at gently removing buildup. I was using a sulfate shampoo once a month or so to remove buildup, but I've switched to this and it's perfect! That watery consistency is tricky though!

Stephanie Geiser: Love this video. I was needing to replenish my hair care supplies, so I purchased the Cantu leave in conditioner and the Biotera gel. I’ve been loyal to the Devacurl line, but would like to try other lines that will give me the same result just at a lower cost. Love your videos and honest reviews. Thank you

Thankful in all things: Curly Susie, you are the best! I find your videos so helpful because it is clear that you are the real deal and honest about your experiences with products. You are down to earth, gorgeous, your hair is amazing and your son is adorable! We appreciate you taking the time to help us all out with what you’ve learned. Keep up the good work and God Bless!

Sonia Hernandez: So far the curl activator cream is a keeper...I use it on my 4 year old daughter on her damp hair and they define her curls so well..when it dries her hair looks real healthy. I also love the coconut curly cream and I've started using then leave in conditioner . Also I like the xtra hold edge stay gel..for when I style her hair just to hold down baby hairs. Also the conditioning detangle works for next day hair..And to bring that curl back and not get frizzy. I still need to try which I've bought coconut shine and hold mist...hydrating cream conditioner, and styling custard . But so far a love cantu

j0y: It makes me happy whenever I see a new video from you :) I didn't like the original Cantu shampoo either (my hair was like straw), but now I want to try the TXTR line. Thanks! PS: Wilson is so precious!!

almostelphaba: I just started using the ACV shampoo and it’s amazing!! I’ve spent years trying to get rid of my flakes and this shampoo did it when nothing else would! I also bought the curl activator but didn’t like it much. Maybe I need to give it another try. My biggest complaint about Cantu is the products smell soooo strongly and the smell lingers all day, I really don’t like that. But you’ve inspired me to give them another try!

lipss2die4: I stumbled on your videos a little bit ago, and right now I’m deep conditioning my hair ( after I watched your deep conditioning video) and going through all your videos! I’m only 2 months into GCM... and it’s a struggle but I’m going to keep at it... I didn’t realize I should deep condition once a week...

Jeannine Smith: I’m so glad you did this! I love the Cantu line and it is so reasonable. I totally agree with you on the gel. Not enough hold for me and I found my hair getting frizzy easily so I went to a better holding gel. I’m definitely going to look for the shampoo and conditioner as I haven’t seen it yet. Thank you again!!

kayla floyd: I have been searching for a full Cantu review for caucasian hair. Thank you so much!

Little Blue: Hi Susie, love your reviews, you're doing a great job. I'm currently using the Cantu Curling cream in my routine and I find it gives me great definition, when I've been struggling to get that with other products. The problem is, I feel like my hair is quite producty, maybe a even a bit greasy looking on day 2 (I have very thick, wavy hair. Mild damage, I'm still at the start of my journey). You've mentioned that you wet your hair in the shower every day. I was considering doing this, but am hesitant cause I've been told not to wash hair as frequently as that. If I'm using conditoner only most days, will I avoid the issue of overwashing? Have you found any ill effects from how often you shower wash your hair?

Christina Colongne: Soooo excited you made this video!! I actually bought that exact same curl cream yesterday. My routine is very similar to yours, and I think next time I will try less product to see if my results are better. It did give me soft defined curls, maybe on the heavy side ‍♀️. P.S. The Shea moisture Jamaican black castor hair mask works wonders ❤️.

Paige Ichenberg: I am so happy I found you! It’s difficult finding legit girls on here with my hair type who aren’t sponsored. Thank you so much for your videos ❤️ saving my life lol

LindsayJayne: Do-Do... Thankyou, my fellow Canadian-Curly! It's so helpful to find someone doing great reviews, on products that are actually sold here, I'm over in Kelowna BC:) I hadn't yet discovered this other line Cantu makes, so thanks for the review! I also love the curl cream, and had to return the mask when I actually read the ingredients, lol! Have you tried the Cantu co-wash yet? I love it, and again it's a ginormous size, at only $7-canadian!

Terry Gore: Love your channel! I just found you a couple days ago and I'm so glad I did! I am just starting the CGM today. I have proper products in the shower, ready to go, but now I can't bc I want to try these Thank you for your review, but especially the actual showing of what and how you do it! Your son is adorable, btw ❤

Leslie Molengraaf: You’re SO good at this! Thank you so much for putting out all this fun, helpful info. Feel 100% well soon.

Sasha Stone: Thanks for this review Susie, I’m excited to try some of these products. The bit at the end with your son was absolutely melt-your-heart adorable!!

Blue Sky: Nice review! I have 2C curls and love the Cantu Shine and Define custard. It gives me great curls and lots of volume. I will definitely try the Curl Activator cream soon. Thanks for the recommendation!

Lena Lauritzen: Hey Susie! This video finally got me started on my curly girl routine. I have a hard time getting any curl action near my roots. Do you use any product closer to the root than you show in the video? Thanks a bunch for making videos!

Kira Hengevoss: Your kid is so cute! And I love your accent! Also, this video was really helpful and informative. I think our hair types are similar, and I will definitely be trying out all of these! Thank you!

Amy Turner: I've been using the Cantu curl cream for the last year and LOVE it. I'm going to order the TXTR shampoo and conditioner and give that a try. Thanks for the great videos and for sharing your adorable son!!

K E L L S E Y: I love that you did this video and told us about their new products! I've been using the curl activator since the beginning. Now to go get the Shampoo and conditioner!...also want to finally go get your favorite gel...the Biotera!

nlamproplos: I am so grateful for this review! Got the shampoo, conditioner and curl activator. On short hair, I only used a small lima bean-sized amount of the activator, emulsified in my palms with a godd deal of water. I have soft, light waves with zero frizz. Thank you!!

Damaris: Aw now I gotta get my hands on that curl activator. It's so expensive in my country, almost the equivalent of 30/50 dollars (our currency sucks), but I think I'll just invest my money in it, like you said the bottle is quite big. By the way, Susie, if you want to make your curls last, try the medusa clipping. It's basically putting up your hair section by section in tiny clips. I have 2a/2b curls and they never last through one night..with the medusa clipping method, my curls is still quite defined on day two. But the best way for me is to do the medusa clipping and then wrap my head with a microfiber t-shirt. My curls stays defined no matter how I slept! Yay!

Anita clue: Beautiful results! Thanks for sharing! Will definitely try the TXTR now. :) I loved the curl activator cream AFTER greatly decreasing the amount I was using... small peas size works perfectly for my shoulder lengths waves.

Diana Koshedzhiyska: I love the Cantu Curl Activator. I've been using it for over 2 months now, it does build up on my hair a bit. Small amount, diluted in wet palms is just enough

Amanda Gonzalez: I literally adore you. Thank you so much for the videos you make they have made my CG journey so much more successful than it would have been otherwise.

Noe: susie, i subscribed for your curly hair videos and your fitness vlogs are saving my life! ive never had a good core before and i’m building one thanks to your circuit routine! you’re a lifesaver !!

Cherie O: Thanks for the info Susie. I’ve been too fraidy cat to try the Cantu Curl Cream cause of my fine hair. I recently bought the deva curl wave maker, but I swear every time I use DC products my hair feels like it ‘seizes’ and feels almost tough, plus it’s a rip off! Time to try Cantu!! Happy Easter!

Kindness Matters: Thank you for talking about the beeswax in the masque! The masque is the only Cantu product I have tried and I HATED it. Returning it today. I really disliked how it made my hair feel and, like you said, it's so hard to wash out. Now I understand why. Due to this experience I was convinced the Cantu line was not for me. Thanks to this video, I'll be giving some of the other products you mentioned a try. Thank you, Susie! I'm 47 and watching your videos has given my curly hair a new life. Bioterra gel is my HG thanks to you, which has been a game changer for sure. I finally like my hair again after all these years! You are a gem.

rachel78NL: Try the custard for gel! It pairs awesome with the cream activator and gives a great cast. Would love to see if this works for you and how you would use it.

Lipstick Konniption: Looks like Wilson is going through the phase I call “empty”. It’s actually very important for spacial awareness, even though every cupboard contents on the floor drives you crazy !

Terry: Hi! I went to Sally’s Beauty Supply today and bought the shampoo, conditioner, styling cream AND your fav, Biotera Gel! Can’t wait to give it a try tomorrow. I have high hopes that I will love it as much as you do! We all appreciate your videos. Keep up the great work!

Jaq Tweedie: Thank you for the 'praying hands' product dispersing gesture. It works much better than raking my fingers through my hair, and also reminds me to be gentle with my hair and myself generally. :-D

Samantha: Susie I love your videos. The TXTR line also has a gel that I really like. Works very much like the biotera gel for me. No cast but same hold. I have replaced all of my hair products with the TXTR line I love them so much.

Jaime Whynot: I’ve been using the curl activator for the past month, I don’t find it too heavy for my fine hair. That shampoo is interesting, I think I’m going to have the check that out next.

PrairieJenn: You are my saving grace! I literally just bought a bunch if Cantu products 2 days ago and was searching YouTube with my current curly girl gurus to see how to use it and what they think. Happy Easter from Saskatchewan!

Bec Med: I have just learned about the curly girl method and I love your videos. I was debating buying this brand since it isn't so expensive and think that I will start out on this brand and go from there. Thank you!

Mariel H: I just bought the curl activator and am looking forward to using it tomorrow. I've used the Hawaiian Silky curl Activator and get the best results when I only use one pump and scrunch it into soaking wet hair after detangling with a wide tooth comb or denman 9 row brush dupe (mine is actually from Cantu) I then use the same comb or brush and comb upwards in sections to create volume and defined curl clumps from the roots, then scrunch and squish in the activator while my head is flipped upside down, plop it into my microfiber hair wrap to dry as much as possible while I get ready and after I just take off the wrap and shake out my curls and go! I get the best curl days with minimal frizz this way. I don't even need to use gel! (see profile photo) I'm sure Cantu will work just as well if not better than HS bc it doesn't contain mineral oil or parabens which was the reason I switched. The only hard part was choosing between the OG Cantu Curl Activator and the new Avocado one bc the ingredients are so similar. I was standing in the hair isle like a weirdo with both bottles in hand trying to find a difference in ingredients that stood out to no avail bc the OG also contains avocado oil and the also has shea butter. I chose the OG based on scent!

Cyndi Kehrli: I love the Cantu Shea Conditioner. It has tons of slip and makes detangling my hair easy. I also like the curl cream

JM BAL: Thank you! I have to try their shampoo and conditioner! I’m already madly in love with the moisturizer cream you used on this video. Replaced my supercream already

Gaylen Ballard: He's soooo cute!! You can still get these products on Amazon for now even though they have been discontinued. You are my favorite curly girl for sure!!

Jody C.: I like the Cantu products too!  Love the curl activator cream AND the Define & Shine Curl Custard.  I'm going to try the TXTR products when I run out of the shampoo and condish.  Thanks for the recommend, Susie.

Felina Guynn: I am so thankful for you. I have never had someone go so into depth to truly show me how to care for my hair. No one else in my family has curly hair so I was never properly taught how to care for it

Sherri: Love your reviews. And your son is a cutie pie! I will try the TXTR line when my regular Cantu S/C runs out.

Rachel C: Thanks so much for this video! I'm surprised that so few people talk about Cantu products - especially when they are so budget friendly. I really like the Cantu Curl Activator Cream but I have a hard time finding a gel to pair with it. Gel seems to be the hardest product for me to introduce - they are either too flaky or have no hold and I get frizz. I have been using the Cantu Stay Glue gel and love the slip, but this combo didn't quite work right...and I couldn't figure out why. I need to track down the Bioterra gel and give it a try. Thanks!

kilroyscarnivalfl: I stopped in the Sally store today for something else. I peeked at the Cantu stuff and was so glad I was able to search “Curly Susie, Cantu” to quickly find this vid and your diligent notes. They had a bottle of this curl activator but it was hidden behind other products. Can’t wait to try it after the current Florida thunderstorm is over. :)

Persephionie: Cantu is literally my favorite!!!!! Most of my curly products are cantu. I am a natural curly red/brown head and I feel like it is holy grail. Just watching this video makes me want to buy more or even double lmao. Much love♡

silver_ phoenix: Curl Activator works great for my high porosity cherub curls Thanks for a great review on these products I "do-do" love your videos

Haley Anderson: Great video! I live in New Zealand so it might be a while before I can try these (this new range isn't on Amazon yet) but I'll keep checking. I'm using Jessicurl with Aussie gel (mainly because biotera which I love is hard to get without insane shipping). Have you tried the Jessicurl products yet?

Etta: I have 2b hair and i found the curl activator made my hair too soft, and took away the definition of my waves. Even when i only used a pea size on my whole head, and i have pretty thick hair. I saved a bit to use as a deep moisturizer when i need it, but gave the rest to my friend. She has super thick 3b/3c hair, and its been working really well for her. It just wasn't made for my hair type.

Marcy regular acct: Susie, your hair looks amazing as usual. Thanks for the review! Off topic, what are you using/wearing on your skin? It always looks amazing!

Janelley Harris: Thank you for this review. I've tried Cantu before and didn't like it because it weighed down my hair. After watching your video I'd be willing to try their product again and uses LESS application to see if that fixes my original problem with it. Also your son is so cute and a sweetheart! I have three kids, 4 years, 2 years, and 5 months. Babies are such a blessing from God above! Thank you for your videos! And thank you for your inspiration and authenticity.

Emily: I love your reviews and your hair and really I just love you. You have a beautiful personality and it shows. I just bought my first Cantu product yesterday and can't wait to try it. It's a foam styler ... hope it works. Definitely going to try the shampoo, conditioner and styling cream you featured here. Cantu peeps! She's sold me on products in the past and if these products are as good as she says you will have 2 new customers. Give the woman some more products to review! Thanks Susie!

Bronwyn Floyd: I have had positive results with the curl activator. I also like the define and shine custard. Your little guy is so sweet!

Missy L: Thank you for this video! I almost purchased some Cantu products today at Walmart, but Sally's prices are WAY cheaper!

Kensington Princess: Refreshed day 5 hair with water the Cantu Activator and the Bioterra. Great spring curls!

Tomar Crauswell: I am amazed at the results you got from the Cantu products. Cantu & Diva Curl have been the worst two products that I have experimented with so far. Just proves everyone's hair is different & no one product works for everybody. I know by the reviews that they definitely work for some people but unfortunately I'm not one of them. Anyway your hair looks beautiful.

Dana Shepard: Love your honesty, and your son is so dang adorable!!

wendy timmins: Nice to see you back! You are a joy to watch, and so helpful with your curly hair advice. I was wondering if you've tried the TXRX conditioner as a cowash. If so how do you like it?

Rosie Valdez: The way you describe your hair it seems similar to mine. I have to do my hair almost every day if I want definition. I primarily use Cantu products although I haven't tried the newer products (thanks for talking about them). My go to is the curl cream but I do find it heavy if I use too much - I like to mix it with the Biotera gel which makes it more like a lotion (not so thick). Try the define and shine custard its similar to other brands (shea moisture). I also like the mousse to refresh my curls on the rare occasion I can manage a second day.

Sarah Richardson: I'm really surprised that you liked Cantu products... I tried a conditioner (not the one you used) and the curl cream and they seemed to frizz my hair even more than normal! I thought we had similar hair but in this we differ! :-)

Kiersten H: I highly recommend the Cantu Curling Custard! It's moisturizing and gives me good definition and hold! My hair is medium to high porosity, fine strands, medium density, and 3b curl type.

PoetrySkep: I used to use Mixed Chicks as a holy grail and decided to try Cantu to switch it up. Had an allergic reaction to Cantu and went to dermatologist and everything. Went back to Mixed Chicks and it has the same ingredient as Cantu and now allergic to it as well. I switched to Kinky Curly Knot Today and so far so good. There’s a YouTube video out there somewhere on Cantu allergies. Sad part is, it made my curls pop :(

beckyandlenin: I love your videos and have learned a lot about the cgm. I have experimented with a technique that might interest you. I've started plopping using an hairdryer bonnet. I got the "Pro Deluxe Portable Hair Dryer Soft Bonnet Hood Attachment - XL Adjustable Drying for Home & Everyday Use Collapsible" on Amazon. I plop in it when my hair is wet with product and let it dry on cool/warm about 10-15min but not until it's totally dry. I stop before it's dry, remove and THEN use my diffuser attachment to give needed shaping and touch ups to shape/style. It really speeds up my routine and I love the results personally.

Sriranganayaki Bhupathiraju: Your son is absolutely adorable just like you! Thanks for this review! Looooveee watching your videos. Sending lots of love ❤

Ashley Bennett: The Cantu curl activator was one of the first products I purchased when starting the cg method. I want so badly to like it, but so far have not been pleased with any of my results. I don't feel it is because of overuse, as I use less than a pea size. Do you use it in lieu of leave in conditioner or in addition to?

Victoria: I got the curl activator cream and top it with the shine and define custard and it works really good for me, it leves my hair really soft with a lot definition and don't have to use a lot of product. I've bought them in August and just use the half of each one.

Courtney Derouen: I read reviews on Amazon and there are so many positive comments about the Cantu TXTR Defining gel. I would love to see you do a revisit of these products using the TXTR gel if you have time in the future ☺️ and great video btw! So helpful. Been binge watching lol!

MagicalFluffBiscuit: Love the curl activator cream! But careful, it does not mix well with DevaCurl gel! It’s lumps up in your hands and hair

Girly Girl: Thank you, great review!I have similar hair but not really dry and love Cantu Curl Activator,I use a tiny amount. Will try other products when finish mine.Your son is absolutely adorable too!Once I tried a hair mask from afro hair store and it contained a wax,I couldn't get it out of my hair for a few days even I washed a few times with a Shampoo! Then I went to sauna and my hair has been back. Now I know a wax is not for my hair type and not all curls are the same :)

denise Suarez: I love how healthy your hair looks... hopefully my hair will be healthy too .... thanks for making this video.

KKasp2018: I just purchased a Cantu product and now I cant wait to try the rest of the line!

Jennifer M: I watched this video in the morning, 50 minutes after it was posted and was sold on the shampoo and conditioner feedback! I went to Target, Sally’s and Wal Mart and called Ulta and neither stores had the products. I’ll definitely buy online! Thank you for the review

Jyoti Chauhan: Hi Susie. I just love all your videos. Just recently I got to know through this curly girl method. All your video are really helpful. I also got through your gel review video. I am not sure about what gel I should use. I am from India. The Biotera styling gel you use is not available here in stores, and very costly online (13.5 fl oz for 2900 INR). Can you please suggest any other similar product.

The Prioritized Mom: Thanks so much Susie! Hope you feel better soon. I'm off to buy some Cantu curl cream right now!

Neely Pedersen: Thanks for the review! How many times a week would you shampoo your hair with that shampoo?

M A: That's the point. Wenn I used curl activator for the first time I used too much of the product, which I didn't know of course, I wanted it to be so accurate applied...and I overloaded now it works great, because I use 1/4 of the previous amount greeting from Poland Magda

brit: In love with your results! I have one question about the shampoo you used. Is the scent of the shampoo strong of apple cider vinegar and tea tree oil? Or is it mild? Or does it have no scent of it at all?

Arunita Ghoshal: I have 3a hair.. Been using Cantu moisturising curl activator cream for 7 months.. Even on 4th day it's curly AF.. I just have to wash now when my scalp gets buildup. This product is godsend. ❤

LuLu Pro: When he hugs you...awwww....best feeling in the world! if Susie says the curl activator is good, off to the store I am. Been on the fence for a while, but no more now

Iffat Afroze: Such an adorable pair. Thanks for all the help.

Jennifer Horvat: This looks really interesting! I love the curl activator cream, except it's pretty heavily scented. What does the txtr shampoo and conditioner smell like?

Chrysti Hedding: Your son is adorable. I hope they release the TXTR line in the UK soon. I'd love to give it a try.

Eileen McDonnell: Thanks for the detailed review. I've been wondering about Cantu but have been hesitant because my curly hair is very fine & I was concerned that it would weigh down my hair.

Frances (kindhearted1) 🇨🇦🇬🇷: Hi Susie! I'm a new subscriber. SO happy I found your channel. I've been doing the CG method for a week and so far so good!! I tried to go on the site that shows which curly girl products to use..I keep getting a virus message idk why. Can you or someone here please screenshot or recommend a different site for me? Thanks so much! You're Awesome!! ❤

random: I have curly hair and im caucasian and ive been looking for others with my hair type to review it, thank you, does anyone else feel like they arent allowed to purchase natrual hair products like cantu??

Katie Beth Huntley: Thanks for this video! I've been considering trying their product once my Jesicurl runs out. Definitely going to try them out!
