3D Printed Hairbrush

I modeled and printed a hairbrush I like. The four iterations show the design evolution process.

I quite like this coarse hair brush that i bought overseas and i thought it may not last forever so it'd be a fun challenge to model and try to print one and of course this one was probably injection molded. So this was the first attempt and i tried to print it like this, which made all the bristles very weak, because all the layers are going this way, so you can easily break them and you'll end up with bristles bristle filament. This was a little too dense and it was kind of awkward to hold. So i made this this one and i printed this one at a 45 degree angle off of this surface here like this, so the layers are being added like this and that kind of gives the hypotenuse of the triangle as each one of these bristles is printed. So that made it a little bit stronger and the density of this was still a little bit too fine and it's still kind of awkward to hold, and so i really like the way it this one felt as the fingers fit into it. And so i did the third attempt more like that one, and i also printed it at a 45 degree angle. I made this bristle density a little coarser and yeah. I mean it's a little more flexible because it's thinner and this one works really well. Actually so i thought i would print it out of petg. All of these are pla and petg is a little more flexible, and so i printed this one and the stringing didn't come out, quite as as well as the pla but uh and to get that stringing off. I just used a heat gun and it just melts off of there, but it is more flexible than the pla and i'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. But i just thought that this is a good representation of the design, the trial and error process and how i used to take this brush for granted, the design of it and how it's actually quite perfect. It'S very flexible, the bristles, the density of the bristles, the way it fits in your hand - and i went through four attempts to make this one, which is basically a knockoff of it, because this one was already a great design and if you feel some connection to The the original designer of this as you struggle through the same things, and you may get some filament in your hair for the first few uses. But
