Denman Brush Dupe? - Trying Brush Coils | Miniso Brush Vs 7 Row Denman Brush On Wavy Hair

In this video, I'm giving you a side by side comparison of the 7 row Denman Brush and the Miniso Portable Mini Brush. I'm going to attempt to coil my hair just like I did in my last Denman Brush video. We also try the Denman Twist Technique, where I attempt to create tension with the brush, in order to manipulate the hair to curl.

Incase you missed my last denman brush video, please have a look.

https://youtu.be/8gc0sr5YL2o

Please note that any brush manipulation is not natural. Its a form of curl manipulation. I do admit that some of my curls do coil on their own. However, in this video, my attempt is to manipulate my hair so that I can replicate the results I got with the denman brush. I'm using exactly the same sectioning technique, using exactly the same amounts of product. The only difference is the gels I used in both videos.

(in my denman video, I used the dipity do girls with curls gel and in this video, I'm using the northwish naturals gel as well as the giovanni gel) I imagined that the giovanni would be comparible to the dipity do gel, hold wise. But sadly that was not my experience. If I had a chance at a do-over, this is the one thing I would have changed. :(

One point I wanted to add, the miniso brush has a longer handle, making it slightly easier to style longer hair.

In today's video i'm going to be comparing the miniso brush to the denman brush i'll, insert both the prices here. So i'm going to be attempting to do brush coils with this brush and i'm going to compare the results to the results that i got with the denman brush. So if all of that sounds like something that interests, you then keep watching in this video, i'm not going to take you through the entire styling, because you've already seen me do this routine before so we're just going to check if this brush is in fact a Denman tube and if it works similarly, today, i'm using the curl up, leave-in cream, emulsifying the product and then applying it to my hair. This cream requires a bit of work, so keep emulsifying and reapplying the product till your hands are clean, then, at the end use the praying hands technique for even distribution. Once my hands are clean, i'll, take the northwest gel, which is a soft hole, gel i'll. Take a generous amount and apply it to the length of my hair again using the praying hands technique. At this point, my hair is evenly coated with gel and feels slimy like seaweed, then i'll take the brush and test if my hair coils with it i'll use exactly the same technique. I used in my last denman brush video place, the brush underneath the section of hair comb till the end, leave some hair in the bristles of the brush and then i'll start to coil the hair around the handle of the brush. Once i've reached the top i'll. Give it a little squish spray it down with water and then delicately unravel the hair. As you can see, the brush has done a fine job. Just look at that thick juicy coil. Now, let's check out a side by side comparison with the denman brush. The denman gave me multiple coils per section, whereas the miniso brush gave me one single coil per section i'll demonstrate one more on camera. As you can see, the brush is giving me one single flat juicy coil per section, let's check out another popular denman technique and see if the brush performs the same. We'Ll call this a denman twist, giving it a few good scrunches, as you can see very good curl manipulation and shrinkage. Now, let's check out a side by side comparison of the denman twist technique, as you can see both give me very similar definition. However, i am noticing thicker clumps with the miniso brush compared to the denman, once i'm done, styling an entire section of hair, i'm gon na double up and i'm gon na use the giovani gel, which is a hard hole. Gel ending with a hard hole gel will help me prolong my wash day results and also ensure that my clamps are nice and robust. Again, i'm noticing some brilliant curl manipulation and shrinkage with the meniso brush. You can see how much my hair has sprung up in the section where i did coils and i'm giving it all a few good scrunches i'll coil, all of my hair off camera and then i'll come back to show you what we're looking like. I'M done! Styling! All of my hair, i'm noticing that my clumps are very heavy and so they're stretching out, and it's elongating, the coils that i created once again. This is a side-by-side comparison with the denman i'm noticing that the coils are stretching out quite a bit anyway. Now i'm just gon na plop and i'll be back when my hair is dry, so my hair is completely dry now, and this is what the cast is looking like, inserting a side-by-side comparison of the cast that i got with the denman brush and the meniso brush. I'M going to scrunch out the crunch and then let's talk in my opinion. The denman is giving me smaller clumps with more shrinkage, whereas with the meniso brush, i noticed off with really good shrinkage, but the clumps were really fat and therefore they were much heavier, and since this technique took a fair bit of time, i'm noticing that the coils Are stretching out quite a bit as i was crunching out the crunch and fluffing out my roots. I noticed that my hair didn't have too much volume and there could be two reasons for this number. One thicker clumps for me always means less volume, since my hair is medium to low medium density. Secondly, i've also noticed that whenever i use a cg friendly gel since they have quite a few moisturizing ingredients, i always get lesser volume, but it's a different look, and so i don't mind it on some days anyway, let me show you the differences in the results That i got with both all right, so these are my results. Last time i did not break up my clumps at all today, i'm gon na do that so that you can see what it's like when it's completely separated. It'S a very good idea to use some oil when you're separating your clumps, but my hair feels really moisturized and i don't want to coat it with excess oil, which is why i'm skipping the oil, but if you're doing this at home, definitely use an oil. As i predicted, the clumps are much thicker with this brush compared to the denman brush. Alright, so breaking up the clumps has definitely given me some excess volume. As you can see, this is what my hair is looking like now, as i predicted with this brush, i feel like the clumps are little thicker. This is what my day two hair looked like. I separated my clumps in this video based on the requests that you guys left me in my denman video. So, as you can see, i have looser waves in my miniso footage, whereas in the denman footage you'll see that the coils look unbroken even on day two. Another thing that i noticed is that the dippity do girls with curls gel, did a far better job at prolonging my definition, and i also have to mention that i did nothing on day 2 and day 3. No serum, no oil, no refreshing! Nothing, however, in the miniso brush week i did use a bonnet at night and also you'll see that my hair is a little shorter, because i did cut my hair wow all right, so that was pretty much it. Thank you guys so much for watching and if you're interested in hair care feel free to check out these videos.

L Mawiong: Love the dupe results!!! Definitely going for this and also it’s budget friendly. Thanks Michelle❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Prisha Adhikari: the editing you’ve been doing in your videos lately is literally perfect! the brush coils with the miniso brush look really nice, and I think that the curls look more natural,I actually have a similar brush at home,so I’ll definitely try this on my next washday! also do you think you could do a video on co-washing and maybe review some co-washes? I have the manetain one but I’ve never co-washed before so I’m kind of nervous lol

Vaishnavi Sahai: U r d elder sister I never had. My mom is always forcing me to straighten my hair and that's my why my hair is all damaged now. After washing and drying my hair, I get 3a curls and now imagine if I used the right method how pretty my hair would look. Thanks for being my mentor on this Curly Hair journey!!! Lots of love ❤

simran tuteja: Hi Michelle, just want to let you know I'm so glad I found your channel. I have 2B waves and was facing many issues with hold and definition. I have seen you rave about Enliven gel. Ive been using it and it changed my hair game. I get great results now , all thanks to you Also your scalp massage tip really helped me. I have also tried Shirolepam mask on your recommendation and that works wonder. I guess I have a similar hair pattern as you, so same routine works lots of love. ❤️❤️❤️

usmc72409: That’s tough. I think I would need to see the denman brush curls broken up to compare apples to apples better. Interesting video. I can’t say which I like better bc there are positives and negatives to both.

Lol Okbommer: Hey, I started CGM in November 2019 and my hair was doing very good till may of 2021 I was following my daily routine and losing barely any but after May 2021 I started shedding more hair than usual but it was not more than the standard 100-150 strands Although I used to loose most of my hair in the shower Could combing my hair in the shower be the reason for more than usual shedding (I have 2B 2 C hair) ?

Afeefa Kaleem: The amount of hard work you do for the videos is ah-mazing ❤️ Love xx❤️

Tina: Thanks for this video, was waiting for something like this..you always nail it, thanks for all the trouble you take in making your videos. Keep it coming girl

Anu D: Your hair styling videos are so much fun to watch.❤. But I like your comb styled look anytime over coils. I have been using this amazing comb from vega which I bought two years back for coloring purpose. It easily glides through while detangling and forms thicker clumps while styling. Best part of this comb is its unique sectioning back, which I use it for removing fairy knots. All thanks to you, I got it out of cupboard after watching your videos and I'm thoroughly enjoying styling with it.

Euphoria Casa: This is such an amazing video! I prefer ur hair both ways if u ask me . The miniso one looked like how your hair would look normally but the denman one had quite some definition . Since I don't do hairbrushes (expensive ) I don't know how to style with them but I've saved this video for future tips! Thank you for all your hard work! ❤️❣️ I have one request though. Could you please make a video on CG friendly gels as well like you did with leave ins? (also please mention their hold capacity)

Dharsh: Yayyy was waiting for this...thankyou Edit: the miniso coils look so much more natural and suits u

Greeshma ghosh: Your editing skills are so cool, it takes the video to the next level. I will get the miniso brush, it is cheaper and did a pretty good job too.

hetal vadvana: I was finding a denman brush and it was way out of my budget, but after seeing this video I went ahead and bought the dupe brush. I must say the results are amazing and I am loving my curls...I have started my CMG journey by watching your videos and all the videos are so helpful and informative, Thank you so much for making this content

Vidhu: I absolutely love your videos. The best part about them is, you do not shy away from exploring budget-friendly products so that the masses have better information and access to style their hair. Just one request, can you please make a video on 2b/2c haircuts? I have like really long curly hair and I haven't cut them for years now. I really want to try a haircut that doesn't take away my length but adds some style to it. Can you please make a video on what should we ask from our hairstylists considering many salons in India, especially in small towns, do not have people that understand our hair type properly. I ll be waiting for such a video on haircuts and what-to-ask for. Thanks. :)

Abi: Thank you Michelle for trying this am so happy u are such a genuine YouTube who listens to their subscriber suggestion and posting what they ask...

Esther Simick: Thanks for such a great video! You're the best❤️ and your hair looks amazing!!

Shravni Verkhedkar: You have no idea how eagerly I was waiting for this since your haul. I bought the miniso brush a month back, tried it but for some reason it wasn't working for me. My hair gets stucks at the joint. I'll try with this technique now. Thank you

Shreya Bhowmick: I recently started using a similar vent brush from GUBB USA. I don’t do coils because that’s not the type of look I like, but I style section by section just like I used to do with wide toothed combs. It does give me thicker clumps which I love and it’s my go to brush for styling currently. Saves time with styling since I can take bigger section of hair. with GUBB USA comb.

Miss Dina: Denman is superior wrt long-lasting curls but that miniso dupe did its best especially great for beginners/students/single day events. Great video as always! Thank you for keeping it real ❤

Ishita Soni: Hi Michelle ❤️ I want to ask you a question that's not related to the video . Do you straighten your hair once in while? And if you do, can you please tell me which straightener do you use ? Btw really liked the video . I'll try the miniso brush first as it's more budget. friendly

Abi: I am trying this weekend and posting it definitely a cool idea to get coils ..even though I have this never tried coiling

Jessica Joseph: The pain that I almost bought it last weekend but then didn't because I wasn't sure about it lol, definitely gonna get it the next time!

Alisha Thomas: If I were to break that gel cast, my hair would have turned out all frizzy 'coz I am so impatient by the end.

Abi: Your hair looks more pretty in dupe than in denman

Abi: I love looser coils than than denman look and it looks pretty on u definitely thanks again for trying it and posting

Jasprit Kaur: Hey...thanx for comparison..... I like the miniso brush better.....u saved me from wasting my money.....btw this look really suits u.....the miniso one

Seema Tiwari: Was expecting this one after seeing so many requests for the same!

Pallavi Shelar: Hey love the video Michelle di, will definitely buy miniso brush as it is way cheaper

KC: This is such a cool release!!

usmc72409: Side by side the dupe curls I like more. Day 1

My_artisticheart: Hey Michelle......hope you recognize your lill kitten.❤....Im Blair....ND of course....very awesome comparison ND Denman Bru is the best ....but every beginner can afford the Miniso Brush.

HunTeR GaminG: Hey! Michelle... I love watching ur videos..... Can u plz make a video on finger coiling and finger rolling.....

Sree: My hair is very loose type and frizzy. It is low porosity hair. Please make a video on the products which will suit such type of hair. I'm damn confused.

Prerna Annu: Amazing video. Loved it ❤ You're so pretty and I love you

E V J Ann: I went to buy the dupe brush and it’s $190.

veena manjooran: How come you have no frizz on day 2 and 3 . My hair gets frizzy

Roshe123 123: Good

usmc72409: ❤️

Alisha Thomas: Less volume?!

Alisha Thomas: denman day 3>>>>

Namami nare Sharma: Your beautiful locks my god

Sudati: My scalp is verry dry so plz suggest a hair oil
