How I Model Anime Hair In Blender

Somewhat of an informative video, you could say it's a visual guide on how I model the hair. I will try to put out more informative videos since that's what most of the people want to see. If you have any suggestions regarding videos or anything - leave a comment.

Also, I'm streaming almost EVERY DAY on https://twitch.tv/Shonzo, making Models for VRChat and Vtuber Projects!

All righty, okay here, so how do i make hair? This is like something that a lot of people have asked me. I hope those people are just hanging out here right now, so i can actually see how i do this stuff. If you're not you're lost all right, so we have like a basic line: nothing very crazy right: okay, cool uh. Now we create a curve, a circle curve to make this small. Here we go here and we get rid of this one. Take this blow pull it. Take this too make him like small, like that. Look at these two subdivide two like this divide by there we go and there we go nice tutorial thanks me. Do you want actual tutorial dude um dude? I don't know like you remember like yesterday. We were talking about like if i made like a whole course and like a whole tutorial and whatnot right, like i'm still kind of thinking about it, but it's like i'm just not very sure what i'm supposed to kind of do with it. You know it's definitely like some kind like a good idea, but and i've actually had like people from various websites. Dm me like there was like some steel, forks or some dumb [ __ ], like that. I didn't like that. But uh i mean i understand in a way that there is like some kind of like need for it right, but at the same time i just have. I have a no [ __ ] clue how that whole thing is supposed to be made. You know, as in like like what is required for me to to explain person. You know i guess like. I need a script first and foremost, and then i have to think about like what and how. I guess right because when you have a script like you can just like kind of like understand why you have to and like you can just explain everything that you're doing on the screen as well right. How did you turn mesh into a curve? You just press a button shift c shift s. Okay, i lied. It should be shifted as well. No, it's not it's out c. Okay! I actually, i actually don't know exact keys. I just know that my muscle memory, that's like the shitty funny part. This is altsy. You press alt c and then, like you, have options here there you go a tutorial on modeling more like your tips and techniques would be more gold um. You might think that, but here's the thing when you have a full tutorial on how to make a character right. That means that you have like every step of the way, basically right, so you can kind of look at it and be like like if you want certain things you can just like fast forward. Also in a tutorial you can like have like time timestamps, basically, like. Oh, like this is the this part. This is this part you, this is uv mapping and you have. You can have everything in a very particular manner. Basically, you know, but again, like you really need like a script, and you have to like record things like multiple times, then you have to cut them down multiple times and stuff like that uh. I don't even know like what those websites like skillshare and stuff like that pay you like, do they pay you like a like? What'S the uh, what's the uh, what do you call it um, like a percentage uh split, basically like is it 50 50? Is it like 70 30., because it's like this is like a little bit thick, i'm actually gon na make it like tiny bit thinner so so foreign by the way, if you're, watching and you're wondering why i'm not. Why am i not doing stuff like this once? Basically, i'm setting up like a basic uh hair shapes first and then, when i do all of that, then afterwards i will be making this into mesh and doing this like one by one. Already, okay, like like adding those small details. Basically, here i found i used to just make it like straight up from mesh but and then like straight up from whatever like curves, but i found that the best way of doing hair uh, with especially with the small details like this, is a combination of it. Basically so first you do like basic shape like this, and then you finish it up with like uh like straight up meshwork like turn this into mesh and just work on it like that, you get like way better results that way so so foreign, so so so So so you so so so so so so so so this so foreign so is um do so so so so so so foreign do so me! My do so me! Yes! So so, and do do so so so so so you

AutoPotato ً: For those who don't know what he did outside the screen 0:45 go to object data properties on the right, under Shape, lower the resolution down 1:14 object data properties, under Geometry there's Bevel, select Object, choose the curve like in video 1:44 to adjust the thickness, press "Alt+S" instead of "S"

KillQuota: why do you never show the full screen? like the interface, toolbars, etc. even if you just did a normal video like you usually do but maybe include that thing that visually shows what keys your pressing in that moment I feel like that would be enough for people that want to learn.

Flumpty Bumpty: I would love a full series!

XackBelle Gaming: Would you ever be willing to make a video going over how you got the model to have that style of shading you have on the thumbnail? It’s so clean and crisp and I have yet to find a good tutorial on how to accomplish that stylization/shader

KittyLin: она крутится вся волосина если тянуть один вертекс как с этим бороться как же бесит

pikachufan25: my only warning about anime is that it takes lots of time to understand - there is currently not much on shortcuts and most of it is brute-force or hard work. my recommendation on learning anime Style is - learn how to make Sharp Pointy Edges not look ugly, Second Colors Anime has a Certain Range of colors that makes it look Good Study that (or Copy it from someone) and you are good to go. Third of all Shading, do you like Genshin impact Style or Guilty gear. if you want Guilty gear then you are Force to Modify the Directions of Normals so it hits in a certain way. but if you like Genshin impact then you don't have to do anything and focus more on Modeling and Coloring than Worrying about Shading and Remember you could always Change the Normals at any time, so there is no worry there. Good Luck and Enjoy what you Doing. PS. if you Modify the Normals it will affect in-game Engines like Unity and Unreal, but if you plan to 3D Printed then Changing the normals will do nothing since ya know Real-life Shading xD.

Chen: imagine if you didn't save.

Looking For Good Thing: 1:38

Cozy Kakera: at last...

CJ DayLight: this retopology is very good but I thinks in anime style it is not rly work but on vtuber or vrchat it is good

Night Owl: Her name?

KittyLin: во тошо надо

Tupper: wtf im in the corner

kystZ1: booba

Rinkuki: Wehh

Klaus Zwegert: Just do a tutorial. Not everyone needs to do it in a professional way. If it works for the limited space its required for then just make a tutorial. Its not Rocket science.
