Let'S get it hello and welcome to a new video, okay, we're gon na jump right into it. I saw everyone's comments about wanting to know how to cornrow, so in this video I'm going to be taking it step by step as much as I can to teach you how to cornrow on your own hair, okay, yeah, let's get into it before anything, I like To make sure that the section I'm working with is as detangled as possible, and I am working on blow-dried hair. If you are someone who is trying to learn how to cornrow with me, please just pull your hair out, get a piece to work on and practice with this video, because I feel like it may be easier to understand when you're, actually in the motion and watching Me so, if not so, when I'm doing a cornrow starting at the beginning, there's two ways that I may like to start it. The first way is taking a section from the front and breaking that into three sections. Just like you would a braid. So, as you can see my three sections and once you have those three pieces, that's when you can begin your cornrow. The second way I like starting it, which I feel like may be easier. If you have practiced a little bit is grabbing three sections from the front, but not really pulling them out just kind of holding on to them. In the front like that, cuz, once you understand the technique of where your fingers need to go, you can start it either way. So for this video, I think it may be easier if I start it with a section in the front. So I grow a pretty small section in the front like that. I break it into three pieces. One two, three okay, now watch closely before grabbing up any hair. I want to show you what it looks like and where your fingers will go. This is the pattern that creates the cornrowing okay, so I like to start on the right side: you're gon na hold on to this right side piece and your goal is to get the other end of hair. Okay, just like that, let me do it again, so you have your three sections and you're, starting with this right piece, you're gon na be reaching under that middle piece and grabbing the opposite side. Just like that. So, just how you saw my fingers grabbing it like that, I'm just gon na grab that piece. You don't really have to pull it, but you can let go of the piece. That'S in one hand and you're gon na just continue that same motion, so holding on to that one piece: you're reaching over to grab the opposite side like that you're gon na grab that one piece you're reaching over to grab the other side. So that's basically the motion that your fingers are going to be going. But now let me show you when you start gathering hair okay, now we're back to square one anytime you're reaching over to grab this other end of hair you're gon na be picking up some hair with that so reaching over. Like this, I use my index and my thumb to grab up a little piece of hair like this, and all I need is a good grip on my hair and that other piece of hair and I'm just gon na hold it like that. I'M gon na, let my left hand relax with that piece of hair because it's not gon na unravel. I got ta keep this hand here, though it will unravel so you're gon na repeat that same motion, so you can see where my fingers are so here's that one piece and if I lift my hand up a little bit without letting go of the hair, you Can see those two pieces and remember, I'm always reaching to grab the other end. I'M gon na take that one piece right here, in my left hand reach under that middle piece, grab some hair and grab the end piece like that. Okay, now I've let go of the hair whoo. Now you're gon na continue that same reach under the middle piece grab the end piece and grab some hair. So, as you can see, I'm making sure there's not too much room, I'm still grabbing up hair, oh dang! I forgot about this okay, you saw. I did that. Actually, don't I tell you something when you're grabbing hair, because you could let go of this piece. Sometimes I noticed that I didn't grab hair up over here. I just kind of help myself pass it to my index finger and hold on to it right there, so you want to keep that same motion of reaching under grabbing that other end and grabbing hair up as long as you're grabbing. That other end, whatever hair you grab with it, will seamlessly go into the braid and just a tip to always remember where that middle piece and the end piece always are. I know to go under the piece that I'm holding with my index finger and my thumb and grab the one that I could feel on this end. Keeping your fingers compact and close to the scalp will also ensure that your cornrow is tight and defined. Please allow yourself to mess up and start again if you need to this is about learning something new, so just keep practicing and I promise you'll get better. So that is how you do a cornrow. I was very nervous to get this video out cuz, it's difficult! Trying to explain something - that's also kind of you know intricate for you to do as well. So I hope I explained that. Well, I hope there are people out there who are able to actually follow along with this video.
