Denman Brush On 2B/2C Wavy Hair | 7 Row Denman Brush | How To Create Denman Brush Coils On Wavy Hair

In this video I demonstrate how to use a Denman brush on wavy hair. We know that I haven't been the biggest fan of the Denman brush. I made 2 videos on the Denman brush last year and I was just not happy with my results. What I noticed was that the last technique was not the best suited to my hair. It worked great on my mothers 3a hair. My results were not great at all.

In this video I demonstrate 3 Denman brush techniques that have worked on my wavy hair. I typically have a mix of 2b, 2c and some 3a clumps. My hair has definitely gotten curlier with time. I attribute it to my persistent attempts at curl training. I also feel like the Denman brush works a little better on my hair now since curl training has happened and I have a bit of length for the coils to form properly and evenly.

Do you have wavy hair? Have you had any luck with the denman brush? Let us know in the comments down below.

This video is about the performance of a denman brush on wavy hair. We already know the denman brushes perform exceptionally well on curly hair, but what do they perform like on wavy hair? A year ago, i made two videos using a denman brush on my wavy hair and if you recall, things didn't go very well the first time around, and i would attribute that mostly to the technique that i used and also to the fact that i was a Newbie, however, this time around, i have some practice under my belt in this video i'm going to share some techniques that have worked for me. So if that sounds like something that interests, you then keep watching. I'Ve sectioned my hair in three. So one two and three and the last time i used the smaller travel size brush, because this is the cheapest one available here today. I'M using this one, which is their seven row brush and i've just taken out three rows from the middle, so that i get a little bigger clumps, i'm using the curl up leaving cream today and since this is so fragrant, i've just taken out eight grams and I'Ve put it into my little bowl. I keep it out before i'm gon na use it so that some of the smell dissipates and it's easier for me to use it. I broke my old spray bottle. Don'T ask what happened today, i'm also using the dippity two girls with girls gel. This is one of my favorites. I haven't featured it on my channel before, but some of you were asking what, if you don't, live in india and you're looking for products. This is a gel that i really really really enjoy emulsifying this with some water wiping my hands down. This is what the gem looks like. It also smells really really nice. So that's how much i'm taking the trick is to make sure that your hair is really nice and wet, because when you're using a denman brush and you're working with damp hair, you could really rip at your hair. You could tear your hair and you can also get your hair stuck in the brush. When i was a newbie and i started with the denman brush, i went to do like a 12 and my hair got stuck in the rush because it wasn't wet enough and i still have some residual trauma from the experience. So you have been warned so there are different techniques that you can use. Let me just show you all of the techniques so i'll. Take the hair holding the brush upwards, all right i'll, go down, let some of the hair stay in the brush and then i'll start twisting. So, as you can see, i have a little bit of hair inside the brush and the rest of it is twisted on the barrel the handle of the brush. Now i'm just going to take the hair and i'm just going to untwist. So what i've done is i've coiled the hair, as you can see, another technique that you can do is you can take the brush, go down the hair and as you go down you call it and then you just take it and you shake, and then you Scrunch, if you can't hear the squishy sound, add some more water and then scrunch all right. So let's look at some more techniques that we can do with this brush. Take the hair direct the brush from underneath the head and then i'm going to twist. Did you see what i just did there hair below the brush and scrunch out of all of these three, i feel like the first technique that i showed you works best because there's no guesswork to it, you take the hair, you bring it to the end, secure It in the brush and twist: that's all you have to do, wait for a few seconds and then you hold the hair from the top and then just undo it and i feel like this technique works best. So now i'm just gon na go to the next section, get it wet comb it out. If i have to what i've started doing is before using the gel, i wipe my hands down that way. The product doesn't get like full-on bunched up so gel. Let me go over the technique that i technically use a lot, but instead of taking the brush and then going around like this and getting your hair stuck in the brush right, because potentially that can happen, can you see how tedious that is the easiest way to Do this, i've noticed is just take the hair and go completely down the brush in a lengthwise motion, so in a vertical motion and then once you get to the bottom, all you have to do is take the hair and twist it around the brush, because it Works exactly the same way right. So if you can see i'm just taking the hair and i'm twisting it around the brush, giving it a bit of a squeeze here and then i'll just take all of the hair from the top right to sort of hold it. In place and then i will just unravel the hair, can you see how nicely the hair is coiled scrunch and i'm looking for that squishy sound? Can you see how easy that is taking the hair from beneath right, pushing it down once i get to the bottom, i still have hair on the brush, sorry in the brush, and i'm just going to take it and i'm just going to twist so we're good. Now i'll just give this a little squeeze that way, the gel does its work right, see if you can see the hair here, i'm just gon na hold this right and then i'm just gon na undo the hair. Can you see what that does so? This is like a really fast way and look at all of the perfect spirals, i'm getting and mind you. I have wavy hair, so yeah on curly hair. This is gon na work, so much better, i'm on this side. So what i'll do is i'm going to change the direction as in i'm going to take the brush and put it on this hand? Now, take it go down and start twisting the hair is twisted, give it a little squeeze and then undo. Look at that. So i'm using the hand - that's opposite to the section, and it would be easier if i had a mirror with me: brush hair right squeeze hold and unravel now for the top sections, i'm just gon na style a little bit of center. Before i put the cone through my hair, i will wet it down here we are and, as you can see, my hair is already started coiling. This is what girl training does in the beginning. None of this used to happen to my hair. Look at this. I'Ve done nothing, but it's still coiling wiping my hands down gel now on the top areas of my hair. I'Ll definitely do more than two sections, because i want a lot of volume here, always taking the brush from below the head all right. So, as you can see here automatically the clumps have found, i have one two, three four and um yeah. We can break this up six clumps, so i'm gon na style it exactly this way. I'M not gon na break up these clumps further and since it already has gel on it, i'm good to go. If at all, you feel like you, don't like the bottom, you can just do that, take it out of the brush and then just swirl it around the handle and unravel. Now i'm not gon na twist from side to side, because what i've noticed is then my hair gets weird and it gets all sort of frizzy on top because some of the hair moves forward and back and then it's not in one direction. So i'm just going to let it be remove some of the excess water and then block, and then air dry rest of the way, and once my hair is dry i'll, be back. My hair is completely dry now and i did diffuse a tiny bit only because it was taking me really long to get my hair dry. So if you want to see how i typically diffuse on days like this i'll, put up a video in the cards right here and i'll also leave it linked down below so check that out, as you can see, my hair has formed these very tight ringlets and I'M just going to scrunch out the crunch to do that. I'M going to use the curl up oil do and i'm just gon na lightly separate my clumps, but not too much, because i want this hair to last. For a few days, of course, and if i do this too much, then that might not happen. I'M just fluffing out my roots and scrunching out the crunch they're still in these little coils. As you can see, these are what the coils are looking like. I'M also going to put in some comparison shots so that you can compare between the different styling techniques that i've shown you and the results that i've gotten with each. Oh, i want to see how it wears and how long i can prolong my wash day. I'Ll put in as much footage as i can, but yeah very, very impressed. What do you guys think i have to talk about the spray bottle? This is the first time i've used the spray bottle. It is not even mine. I broke my old spray bottle, and so i borrowed this from my gardener and oh, my goodness, this works so well. This has worked so well on my hair that i would say that this is an absolute winner. I just had to throw that in there all right. So let me also take you through what day two looked like um, and this is what my day three looked like uh. So definitely, let me know your thoughts down below in the comments and, if you're interested in hair care then feel free to check out these videos.

Greeshma ghosh: Wow, your hair is so long and the coils look really pretty. This is the method I have been using for a while and it always gives me great results.

Manushree Nair: Hey, great video. Thank you for the fetailed use of the brush. ❤️ Just wanted to know what all tips and precautions we need to follow if we get highlights/colour done on our hair. Whether it's advisable for curly hair or not.

Kassandra Namba: Yes! The sprite water bottle is my favorite!! ❤❤ I hit my 30th curly day yesterday! Your hair inspires me. So pretty, Michelle.

Alekhya Challa: Hi Michelle! Love your content. I'm a newbie to CGM. Currently, 3 weeks into this. So, I'm obviously transitioning. I'm struggling a bit. I have medium-dense hair. Porosity still figuring out. I think I have medium to high porosity hair. I've been using the fix my curls protein bundle. The leave-in is making my hair greasy (the mid-length and ends). Hair looks matte and not glossy. (I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. It's not the shampoo and conditioner for sure because I didn't use the leave in one day and my hair looked fine (all over the place but fine). Please help! Please suggest products I can use as well. Thank you!

Jyoti Vijay: Your hair looks sooo beautiful, Michelle. Though I find your usually styled hair makes you look unique and even more classy .. You are gorgeous .. much love ❤️

Qlaradia: I just have to say you have the most beautiful, thick healthy hair I've ever seen! A gift from God! You should honestly let it grow as long as you can!!!

Rochelle Laporte: This is such a cool technique. Will definitely try it out. Thanks Mich. your hair looks lovely

Suri: Thank you for the video! Ever since I saw your previous video on denman brushes, I've been waiting for an updated review. Those coils amazinggg! Almost gives it a dreadlock effect which I love!

simran tuteja: These coils look so great on you ❤️ just wondering how much time it took to complete your whole head?

KC: Your hair looks stunning! So does your face :*. Brilliant video! Keep up the great work!!

Amrapali Dasgupta: Wow..just wow!!! Amazing ringlets..am so glad the Denman finally worked for you! Hair looks absolutely gorgeous ❤

Esther Simick: Totally love the Denman Curls amazing video!

cavalcade: talk about coincidences, my denman literally arrived today morning your hair looks great!! and i love how the coils transformed over the subsequent days. can't wait to try this technique soon ❤️

jiya Rana: I have started CGM from today. I am following your method. Thank you so much... ♥️ I feeling wow...hope it would work best for me..... Thanks again..

Ankita Bhelwa: Thanks for such an elaborate video. Could you also let me know if the Denman brush is good for detangling dripping wet hair? Because I tend to get very tangled hair after wash and I'm extremely afraid of hairfall because of this. Also, please suggest how to get rid of tangles.

Yagasurya A: Hey michelle... congrats for 10k subs I know you will reach heights very soon all the best your videos and your hair looks stunning

Archiet Kaur: This video was amazing! I have always struggled with denman brush and I'll try your way now! Thank you! Though can you pleaseeee make a video on more affordable styling brushes that are easily available in India?

Chitra Agrawal: Hey! Another awesome video ❤️ Could you please tell if this technique made the hair look less frizzy or the hair looks the same..

sim: Hi Michelle.. as usual your hair is such goals!! Though in my personal opinion I like your hair the way u normally style.. it just looks so pretty with ringlets that I almost drool ❤️ I feel like I'm still not getting there. My hair has become curlier but it looks so dull. Thought I'm missing protien but I'm worried it can make my hair frizzy .. do u have any suggestions to get back some shine for low density and low porosity hair..

Abi: You are doing a great job Michelle came to know many techniques from this video

Lidy Stefany Vargas Renza: Hey Michelle I have been doing the CG technic for over 1 month now, thanks to you :) ; However the Gel that I am using is really bad, my hair doesn't feel soft at all, feels really heavy and dry, could you please tell me what to do ( I have try so far 3 different brands in Australia). Thank youuu :)

Riya: I was always scared of using Denman brush..but now it seems I should invest my money in it and try it. Will order it once i save the required money. Thanks a lot for helping us in our cg journey ❤️❤️

Alisha Thomas: I love the coils on others' hair but not mine. I incline to my wide tooth comb 'coz I like how they give me not so coiled clumps

Roopa B K: Hi Michelle, I've recently started CGM, thanks to your videos. But if I may request you to make a video on differentiating between Denman fake and original brushes. There seems to be a lot of fake ones out there in the market. I had to research a lot on this topic and finally had to connect with Denman customer service to know if I had the original Denman brush (thank god it was). I can help with some pictures if you need. Since they have recently changed the logo on the brush (as confirmed by the Denman CS team), it is actually quite confusing to differentiate. Also, a video on Denman range of brushes if possible would help (there are sooo many types)

prerna kumari: Thankyou..so much ...love this I..was waiting for this video..for long ❤️..Amazing... No one has explained so well.....

paola chirivi: Complimenti per la spiegazione e grazie

Divya Solanki: Wow will definitely try this technique

Roshe123 123: Useful demonstration tips:)

saba javed: hii, I'm new to cgm (I've tried your beginner friendly video). would it be okay if i use this method? for now(when its like second time i used cgm), not all of my hair had same curl pattern its really..like irregular and all. i wanted to try this method because it gives same pattern to all the hair. and thank you!!! your content is a hugeee help to noobs like me

Diana Jayaraj: I do this technique using a round brush and it gives similiar results

Angel Ann: U really know how to carry your hair .❤️

Alisha Thomas: Stunning!

lima Prince: Hey recently i stopped this method for a week. My hair fall is very less even though it falls a little like 10 strands a day. But before i was following curling hair i used to shed a lot like day before the wash day i will keep my hair detangle to make it easy. So during that day as well and the wash day hait falls a lot. It is lot more than tha hair gathered together of my daily shedding. Should i stop this curling hair method

Jas.: Don't know if it's just me but i feel the denman effect takes away the natural curly look. Like everywhere i go people ask me if my curls are natural. With the denman effect on my hair no one would believe me if i said it was natural lol!!

Chahat Kumar: New to your chanel . Are there any major differences between the D143 and D3 crush?

blink forever: Hey Can you please review Yardley London's hair cream. It would mean a lot to me . Thank you have a great day and love your content.keep it up ❤️

usmc72409: Yes now I remember the smaller cheaper brush!!!

Anu Kuinkel: Hii i have been following cgm since 4months..i am from nepal and we dont have varieties of products for curly hair yet ..i started by using fix my curls hair butter and flax seed gel and my hair was doing okay but as soon as i switched to defining gel and protein leave in my hair is kinda frizzy i also tried the gel with hair butter still my hair is really frizzy and i want to make the gel work until i finish this bottle since the product is really expensive here in my country do u have some tips for me??

Bernadette King: Explanations step by step was super, my beautiful girl both from inside and outside. All d best for yr future videos ❤️

Purnima Shikha: I love it yarr... The way your hair looks it's so nice, the hair coil man it was treat to watch.

mayumi: Hey..I want to share something From the past 1 month I feel like my hair is more silky and very loose waves ..I have heard that by the passing time curls gets more tighter. Bt with me it is opposite my waves are getting open and looser ..I don't know why?????

Jallé Evelyn: how do you know what direction to go? one clump of my waves changes directions half way down :/

Abi: Who is that 5 person to dislike this video never ever a YouTuber in India explained this much how to use a brush

God Save The Queen: I would love any feedback anyone is willing to give. I am new to the wavy hair method and have been doing it for about 3-4 weeks. My hair is very long and reaches down to my tail bone. My hair is also fine. I've ended up with some really nice spirals and clumps during the process however it takes hours for my hair to air dry. Because it's so long I find it difficult to let it air dry without messing up the gel cast. I bought a diffuser. I have only dried it twice so far with the diffuser and each time I end up with nice tight waves, however it tends to flatten out within hours. If I let my hair airdry I will often have waves for 2-3 days but sometimes it will flatten out much sooner. Any thoughts? I sometimes feel like I'm going to all this extra work without getting lasting results which makes me feel like it's pointless. I'm still figuring out what works best for me obviously but I also find that my hair feels grimey from all the product. How normal is this? Is this just part of the transition phase?

Sushmithaa Rao: Hi Michelle , I have tried the same method and have got the same results. But somehow I Don't enjoy it as it is not voluminous and looks unnatural. The worst thing i have heard someone telling like it looks like judge wig ( woh white waala joh movies mai dhikaten hain) -_- ....so i always prefer upside down styling (only bcoz it is very quick andi don't end up disturbing my clumps) nd therefore my denman brush is lying in my cupboard sadly. :(

Srestha Chatterjee: Hey dear. So much of love and thank you for uploading this post.

Shanzay Khan: I love denman brush results but it takes curls to a more curlier version of them I always think that this is not how my hair are I have 2a-2c hair denman brush takes them to 3a/3b which is just not my curl pattern at all so I just scrunch scrunch and scrunch. Any how loved your results ❤️❤️❤️lots of love

Amelia Clemente: I will try it on my hair

vaishnavi t: Can you plz do a vedio on wet frizz & webbing causes and how to fix it ! Plzz

Sonia Sunshine: i will try that too and see if it works on my hair :D wish me luck <3

Naveena: Please share about your hair color.. Looks amazing..which brand hair color is good?

MEGHANA: Hey ..i have a small doubt ..i noticed that the product i used was not absorbed at all on The wash day evening itself and it buildup as white specks ...does it mean i have low porosity hair??

Priti Kalita: My question is how do I travel with curly hair.. I can't keep my hair open in summer.. I have to go outside my hairs are always frizzy sweaty .. I have to wash my hair 2or 3times a week

Alisha Thomas: Congrats on 10k

vibhuti sheth vinnie: Do you use a bonnet so that the hair doesn't get frizzy the next day? If yes, Can you please mention which brand bonnet and it's link for purchase. Thankyou ❤️

usmc72409: Ty for showing day 2 and day 3

Beauty by Indu-Tamil: Pls suggest a good hair gel?

Seema Tiwari: I knew you would pick up the denman brush again

ananya chauhan: it's a lott of hardwork to use Denman brush

ananya chauhan: dude i was going to ask for the next video about Denman brush...

Beauty by Indu-Tamil: My doubt is that ..the water in the hair and scalp stays for so long ..wont we catch a cold

Mitaalee Sawant: Tried this earlier i look like a sadhu :P
