#hide #hair #extensions

Hi everyone and Happy New Year. This is my first video of the year. I hope you had so much fun on New Year's Eve and I hope you've already gotten an amazing start to the new year. So in today's video I want to talk a little bit about how to hide extensions. I'Ve actually had this requested a few times before, and someone else asked me again recently and then I realized, I don't think I've ever done, that, like a video just dedicated on you, know, tips and tricks on how to hide extensions so as being a hair extension Where my self I've definitely acquired enough experience to to teach you a few tricks on how to do so so before I even start to apply actual extensions and show you, I think the most important thing to to know is how much hair you need most extension Packs come with a lot of hair and most of the time you will not need all of that hair, probably not even half of that hair. I would recommend about two to maybe four West's per head. If you need more than that, it's probably going to be a little tricky, but it really all depends on the head shape and how much hair you have. That is number one identifying your hairs like texture and density. If you have lots and lots of thick hair, you imagine that, whatever, when you grab most of your hair, whatever the ponytail thickness, is that's how much hair you're going to need to add so that it looks pretty seamless, especially if your hair is somewhat short, and You want to add a lot of weight, so I'm going to add in a weft of hair, since my hair is about this long. I'Ve mentioned before that. I have to tie pins on the side and that just gives me a little bit of fullness towards the face, but other than that my hair is of this length. So I'm going to show you applying one weft of extensions. So since my hair is pretty long, adding that weft of extensions - it's not necessarily going to give me much more length, it's basically going to give me more volume, so another very simple trick, but can make huge difference, is where on the head, you actually apply. The extension left to, and I always like to go pretty low so basically, where your ears hit and below anything above that is going to be pretty hard to conceal, and that's just because you want your hair on top to have movement, whether you play around with It, whether you know the wind blows it, whereas the hair down here at the nape of the neck, tends to kind of stay put. So that's where you want to put in your extensions so that they also stay put and that hair on top has a lot more leeway space to move around and do its thing and not expose your extensions. So now I'm just going to section out my hair and contrary to what I just told you to do, which is clipping your extensions to a much lower section of the head closer to the nape of the neck. I'M actually going to do it pretty high just making it a little bit more difficult for myself and so that I can just show you how possible it is to actually hide those extensions. So I'm going to clip that out of the way - and I'm just grabbing this weft of extensions here and going ahead and applying that so another thing I like to do is not pinning it right to where that hairline is. I like to go a little bit lower and that to me, I feel like just gives me a little bit more movement and makes the hair look a little more natural. Another thing people will do is tease this bottom section so that the extensions don't move - and I personally have never had a problem with my extensions slipping off or anything like that. So maybe my hair is just naturally more tingly, but that is definitely not where the problem with extensions comes in. So I like to pull clip them in a little bit lower just so that it makes it a lot more comfortable tube as the day goes on, and you move your head and you know your hair moves around. It feels a lot more comfortable because it has a little bit of that natural movement that your natural hair would have so now, for the next section, obviously, is letting that the rest of your hair fall over so and now. This is where your hair would just flow kind of naturally, and if I move around too much, you will see that you can totally see the weft of the extensions. That'S definitely not what we want so now, I'm just going to rap. Basically, my kind of atop crown of the hair - and this is what I want so basically drawing kind of at you on the top of my head, and this is what I want to be free-flowing hair. So I'm just going to clip that out of the way and so basically the thinner part of hair that goes over the extensions I'm going to tease all of that and basically to create this wall over the extension weft to kind of hide it. So I'm going to start in the middle, because, typically that's where hair likes to part so teasing that you can definitely add a little bit of a flexible hairspray and the reason why you want flexible is because you want you, don't want it to be like crunchy Or anything like that, you just want it to kind of hold that tease now. This will give you a little bit of volume. That'S not necessarily what we're aiming for with this, but it will definitely give you some of that. Then I'm going to work on the side here and tease that and then the other side, of course. So now you, as you can see, I have three separate sections that I've teased, so that's almost causing the problem already, because now you have two splits between those three sections. So now what you want to do is you want to grab a piece from each of those two sections and then tease those to basically marry those together and then kind of come that and train it down, so that it's not just flying up and before you're Done obviously check it with the mirror to make sure that you don't have any splits, but it should definitely hide it and you should be able to move your head around and you know, and it not show so once you feel that you have no breaks in Between those sections of hair go ahead and spray that with a flexible hairspray, let that dry and then let the rest of your hair down. So I don't know if you can tell the difference of my hair looking a little bit more voluminous than it was before because, like I said, I didn't actually add length to my hair. All I did was added weft to add volume, but if you can see in the back here, I definitely have more volume, which is always great, and it completely conceals my extensions. So, as you can see a very, very simple technique, but it can totally save your hair and I've even had clients. That said my chair and said that they've spent a fortune on amazing clip and extensions and that they have never worn them because they're afraid that you know they're going to be seen and stuff like that. So I just figured I've seen a lot of clip. In extension, videos and for the most part acting to give you the probably the 10 most essential. You know bits of information for extensions, but this is something that I've always kind of done and I feel like it definitely helps me feel more confident when I wear extensions, so I figured it was definitely time to pass on the information to you guys. So I hope this has helped and if you do have amazing extensions lying around at home and your haven't worn then because of the same reason, I hope you try this out and really start wearing those extensions and not to say that you know natural hair length Is not beautiful, of course, if you don't need extensions, then don't feel by any means that this video is trying to say that you need them, but I would think that any girl would love to just add an accent, whatever features she already has and if you Already have amazing hair, sometimes it's just fun to add just a little bit more length. So thank you so much for watching. Please click here to subscribe. You will just get notified every time. I'Ve made a new video, and I hope this year brings you many many blessings and I love you and I will see in the next video bye

Denise Munoz: I love that you clipped the extensions in the hair rather than right in the root. At first I thought it was just weird but I tried it and it's so comfortable! You changed my extension and comfort game! Thank you so much for another fabulous video!

Molly: Your videos are always so helpful! I love it. I remember when I was little, I wanted long hair so bad and my mom was a hairdresser so she was the one who cut my hair and I remember asking her to "cut my hair long" because I really wanted long hair, and I remember throwing a fit because she couldnt "cut my hair long" LOL

AliCat93: Thank you for some great tips! I've had the hardest time trying to hide them in my thin hair. Hope you have a great 2016!

passionist: Another tip to hide your extensions better, is to dye the roots in the color of your own roots i always do that and its a lot more invisible, its really a must i think iff you wear extensions, or you can buy rooted and ombre extensions in your color, teasing is another option yes , following you from the beginning love your vids i always watch them always good tips loves xoxo Silvia.

Deanne Lanoue: Brilliant Sylvie. Thanks so much. My hair is super fine (hence the reason for extensions!) and it's a challenge to hide a single weft.

alexandra martin: Great tips! Question:Do you think clip in's can eventually tug and make your hair follicle loose to the point of falling out? Meaning over time can it thin out your hair.

kelisen molloy: This was incredibly informative. I've watched a dozen videos re extensions and this was by far the most helpful.

Lindsay Chaple: This was super helpful!!!! Thanks girl!

Anabriella: Your hair looks so much healthier lately Silvia. It looks gorgeous! Loved the vid :)

Andrea P: This is the best tutorial I've seen to hide extensions!! Thank you so much!

Natália Oliveira: I have really long hair but it's heavily layered so this really helps!

Sue Parks: Great video ! Could you do a video on how to dye your extensions to match your own hair colour? Happy 2016 to you x

loobsy1: Very Helpful! Thank you. Will do this shortly with the hair extensions I've had for two months but not worn yet!

Paulina -: this came at the perfect time. im getting married and will be wearing my extensions and this really helps!! TY!

Kelley Belly: Your hair is beautiful with and without extensions! Do you have any advice for super fine thin hair? I have always wanted to try extensions...but my hair is baby fine and there is not a lot of it. I also have oily hair....dry shampoo just makes my hair look dirty....I would love to get some volume with extensions

MissChocosugar: I am deciding right now whether to or not buy Clip in Extensions. Your video was really helpful. I agree that you don’t need more than 2-4 pieces. So great video.

Emily: This was very helpful! I've been looking for a video like this forever! I wear extensions everyday and they don't show but with the wind and my hair moving I never have piece of mind unless I wear a halfup style or something with Bobby pins. I will have to try this! Do you think teasing your hair this way will cause a lot of damage?

vawterlove: Thank you!! You are really good at explaining

Salon.U: The best way of hiding extensions is adding roots like your own hair then you dont need to do so much teasing

Linda Holm: Great tips, I enjoyed your video as I am considering hair extensions and this info will be helpful in their care. I've just subscribed to your channel too!!

The Kawaii Planet: This was very helpful! ♥

Lindsay Smith: Hey! I have a quick question about extensions on VERY fine and thin hair due to mandatory medications. Which extensions, if any, would you recommend? Halo? Clip-ins? Tape-ins? I have to be on immunosuppressant drugs which made my hair thin out- drastically. Help?

Maggie's Mama: Thankyou for this! I have extensions I've never worn for this exact reason!

Ashe: Well I just enjoyed listening to you speak because you are very professional and clear. Dont wear extensions but you are a great teacher!

AL: This was super helpful, thank you! What type of hairbrush are you using for teasing? I feel like I have tried to tease my hair so many times and I can never do it properly! Maybe its the brush I am using?

Grace Lotz: My hair is a pixie bob but wear a full head of extensions that look super natural because my hair is so dense. I am lucky I can go 1 inch from where my part is and tease the extension for volume. Complete look change haha. But I have to say your balayage in this video is stunning!!! The melt is perfect

victoriad1127: Great video, I have been wearing extensions for awhile now and need to re-do the placement of them I, think I am wearing them too high ! Thank you so much, I hope you have a great day!

Gina Ree: I'm so happy to have found your channel! You're so pretty, great personality, lovely style and a joy to watch...oh and you make me laugh at times! :)

Mary Bird: thank you for this clever tip, would have never thought to do this !

Tara Stevenson: I love your placement of your balyage! How would I explain this to my hair dresser??

jklingelhoefer1: Can you do a full info video on extensions? Brands you prefer, lengths and color matching? I have a pair that no longer match and resisted lightening through bleaching so looking to reorder. Thanks!

Emily Rad: can you do an extension placement for updos-specifically braids.

Princess L.D.G's Kingdom: I made a wig with a bundle and half(26") and a 20" 4x4 closure. Normally people would use 4 bundles, but I use less for a natural look. I spaced the wefts 2 inches apart. Could I tease the hair to hide the tracks from showing?

Barb K: Thank you!!! Having issues with this since I just started putting in these.

natigirl: This is a Holy Grail video! Thank you! Love all ur videos(: happy new year!

Maureen floralpark: Thank you, very helpful!

Samantha Christine: What brand is your tape in extensions? I've been wanting just a couple towards my face as well but nervous to buy them online

Maranda Henderson: Thank you so much i have really thin hair. Gonna try this!!!!

Media 3 Group Interactive: Great tips thank you!

Honeybee123: I'm watching again, so I can figure this out. My hair is short on top. Thank you.

Joanna Moon: Come on people don't clip you're hair extensions that far from the roots little bit of wind and they will show! She probably thinks it doesn't because it's at the back of her head and she can't see during the day. If you've been wearing hair extensions then you know this is the worst tip ever.

Dr Zhivago: omg I saw so many women with extensions exposed at the mall and I feel bad for them. Super helpful.

Donna charm: I love that tip thank you

jerseytomato100: For bleached hair, your hair is healthy and beautiful.

monkeynumber nine: Goodness, I have thin hair and I always go 6 months between between new applications. Also, I use great lengths.

April Good: great video! Can you do one on the other type of extensions that go on with a fishline kinda headband? I got pulled in to buy one of these extensions in Vegas last May.. I find it's maybe set to high and so heavy and hot especially in the summer, yet so beautiful and cost $150!!

Victoria The Comedian: great tips! Thanks for sharing!

Lisa Marie: Great tip! Thanks

Robyn Berg: Smart tip! Thanks!

K. L.: Many many thanks! That helps a lot :) now I think I will give it a try. Do you have any extensions-favs?

Jemma J: maybe the contrasting colour of ur hair and the extension plays a role? it wouldnt b so bad in the colours matched never the less, great tips

Samantha Strietbeck: What brand extensions do you use?

Victoria LeChantier: if you get extentions that MATCH your hair color, your accidental 'shows' won't reveal anything! I'm not trying to sound mean, but I have VERY thin, fine hair and I wear TWENTY tape-ins at 110g. They're carefully taped in brick layering pattern allowing me to safely wear high ponytails or headbands. I've done this since 2009 and LOVE it! I get mine from 'The Hair Shoppe' in surgery Seattle or California. I order two colors and they ship it express and are incredibly helpful. When pricing, pay attention to comparing not only the cost, but the weight as well.if your buying 10 weft for only $50,but they're only 25g, you'll end up with more tape and less hair. Mine are $15/weft at 110g! I have yet to find a distributor or company who carries comparable weight or better. If you know of one, please let me know. Obviously, it MUST be human REMY hair that's NOT asian. Anyhow, thanks for the video

Ivy Davis: I've never seen anyone tease hair with a brush

Tiche Andora: The makeup really suits you. I watched your later videos, but this makeup makes you look much younger. You are beautiful :)

xxriotgirl6669xx: My hair feels so thin I just can’t figure out how to hide them n my hair cut doesn’t work well for them blending in

Marrz: I wanted to use hair extensions to completely cover my hair from root to tip. How would I do that?

Frances Gaxiola: What brand of extensions do you recommend?? Anyone? Thank you

Brandy_Lish: I just started wearing clip in extensions, ive worn halos before, i just don't want to tease my hair at allots already fine, one way I seen that I like is TWISTING the hair wear your gonna put the clip on, but mine stay fine without any of that, my issue is hiding the clips that end up in the back of my head, my hair is blonde an thing have to keep messing with them

Debbie bea: have you ever tried the halo they are the ones with the band around the hair and you put them on your hair and around they look so beautiful and they're so easy you can just pop them on .them right off

Shaliyah sha: i love it where do you get the extensions and whats the color that you choose. it looks GREAT.

Amanda Reed: I have a really bad cowlick at the back of my head I’ve tried to back comb the cow lick then put the clip on in it didn’t work so I don’t put the extension there up high on the left hand side anymore instead I lower the extension.

Christine: 7:04 "it should definitely hide it" ... *sees the entire extension*

Karen Parker: Thank you, i will try this!

Sarah Armitage: A thousand thanks

Kiri Rodway: Basically, everything she does *avoid doing it*

Heylie D: really helpful :) you have awesome hair

radbaby4: great tip! thanks

Bekah Ybarra: I have a question my natural hair usually stops at my shoulders and doesn't grow at all after that. I have tried clip in extensions and they are a pain... I was thinking of tape in extensions but don't know where to apply them and how to blend it in to my natural hair i want really long hair. I'm a hairdresser too.. I just have never tried tape in before. So I'm tried to get all of the information before I get them... I just need help on them. And suggestions would be great.

Amanda Reed: I will try back brushing instead of back combing Thankyou for teaching me

christine shermomd: Wow thx that really helps me alot in subscribing

Kat Avelino: u can see the first weft u put because the blonde don't match the roots, ur roots r dark so it stands out.

Sweet Aubree: How do I change my tape ins to wefts? I can't stand tape ins

Donna Grossman: how can i pick the correct color? i feel like i am in between two colors do you send out samples?

dreamsofanuguish: what extensions do you use?

O L: I wish you would tell us the products you used. Brand of extension, and brush.

Willow Johnson: Great suggestions.

Wendy Torrance: Can we take a moment to talk about your beautiful base color?

Beth Woods: I have an issue cos my hair is sooooo thin so I want extensions but I don't think I have enough of my own hair to hide them

Madhu Jana: your natural hair color is very beautiful!

Bruna D: Hey , I naturally have dark Brown hair, around a 4 maybe i would love if you could tell me how to get to a level 6 without orangy tones, help me please!!

Aim2B TOL: So clever

mbdtf: Do you have any tips for reviving old extensions ... Making them soft again? Etc

sam12333333: have you ever tried dying your extension's roots to the same color as your roots, i recently did that and it hides your extensions so much better!!!

Mary Sur: You are amazing!!!!

cerebrum excrement: That was just magical.

Lena AL-YOUSAIF: the problem i have is that i have short hair in the crown area... short to cover all the teasing and extensions put low...

darling drac: If I ever dare tease my thing overly bleached hair like that i'd be bald
