How I Curl My Hair! (Using Hot Tools Curling Iron 1 1/4)

Hey guys welcome back to my youtube channel, so in today's video it is going to be on how i curl my hair here at home. I know this video has been requested from a lot of you guys. This was actually one of my very first videos here on youtube about a year and a half ago, so i want to go ahead and do an updated video for you, guys and kind of just show you guys my techniques, because i know for a fact a Lot of you guys, especially my clients as well, when they go home, they struggle with trying to curl their hair after leaving the salon and having the hairstylist. Do it really good they struggle with the curling iron at home. So i want to go ahead and make this video for you guys. I really hope that you guys enjoyed this video also too. Thank you guys so much for uh. 8. 000 subscribers. It'S amazing to me, because when i very first started this youtube channel, i did not think that it was going to even get past a thousand. To be honest with you guys. So i appreciate all of your guys's love and the feedback from those of you guys that do comment on these videos. I am greatly appreciated it. So thank you guys so much, but without further ado, let's go ahead and get into today's video, okay guys. So, to start off this video, i'm going to be using my hot tools, curling iron - and this is a 1 1 4 in the gold barrel. This is one of my favorite curling irons that i use on my clients, but i'm going to be using this one for today also another curling iron that i would recommend to you guys that you guys could use. This is the one that i use at my studio, but i recommend the babyliss pro nano titanium, 101. Fourth curling iron - that curling that curling iron. So i cannot talk that chronic iron works just as good as this one. So i highly recommend both of them and also too just to kind of show you guys right now. Um, my hair is actually my natural hair is actually really shorter than this. I am using my bombay hair extensions, and this is in the color at caramel ash. So it has two different colors mixed, i'm gon na get kind of closer, so you guys could see the color, but i'm going to be using my extensions today that way, i can show you guys too on how i curl with my extensions. So first things off. Um, usually i don't ever section off my hair. I just kind of leave it like this, but i do kind of just section it into two pieces coming from the back and i'm gon na start off with this side at first. So i'm going to be taking. This is kind of. I call it like a lazy way to curl the hair, but i'm going to be taking just a smaller piece from the back kind of something like this kind of go in here with the comb and i'm going to be going in my curling iron. Now one thing when you are curling the hair - and i should have said this actually before so one thing went that what you're doing when you're curling the hair is you always want to make sure i love for my curls to go back. I love it because i feel like it exaggerates the face a little bit more. It shows off the face other than coming. In close, i feel, like that's kind of an older style nowadays, girls love for the curls to go back. So what you want to do is you want to make sure that the clamp is facing towards the mirror or towards opposite away from you, so it's facing towards you guys, so i'm gon na go ahead and get a piece. Okay, clamp is facing towards you guys and i'm gon na go in, and sometimes you can go in one time just to kind of flatten it straighten it out, get rid of anything that is kind of frizzy. I'M gon na go in i'm gon na start curling back immediately. Some of my extensions are still curled from the last time that i wore them. So hopefully you guys can see now. One thing i'm gon na do is i'm gon na leave about that much out, which is almost about close to an inch to two kind of just hold it there for a good minute. Now here is um a different way that you can do it. You could either release it just regularly or i'm gon na release it as like a kind of like a twirl. So i'm not using the clamp, but i'm just going and i'm releasing it okay and it's going to create something like that. Let'S kind of throw that behind there also going to do another one okay, so the clamp is facing towards you guys. I'M immediately start curling, i'm leaving about that. Much come a out bit closer, so you guys can see. Okay, i'm gon na release. I like the way that this technique comes out and i can't wait to show you guys afterwards, because it comes out actually really nice, okay, so i'm gon na get another piece right here. I am going in with my curling iron. Just gon na keep twirling it. I feel like a lot of the times nowadays. Curling irons, aren't that like popular, so everyone goes for the wands. Wands are cool too, but i feel like to me once take so much more longer to get your hair done. I would rather just use a curling iron, so hopefully this tutorial helps you guys out kind of hold it there gon na release it. Okay, i'm just throwing everything to the back. Oh yeah me guys so really quickly, as you guys can see. I am now close to the front with the these two pieces and these are kind of like a part of my bangs. Now, usually i do part my hair down the middle, so with these bangs i don't want them to look too tight, especially the curls. So i'm barely going to even curl them, so i'm just going to kind of come in and straighten them out. I'M going to do it one more time right here, i'm going to leave a lot here like right there and i'm gon na release it already. I don't want to ever release it like too quick, but sometimes you do especially in some spots, that you don't want the hair to be that curled in so, as you guys could tell. I haven't yet brushed through the curls, because i want the curls to stay there and for that heat to really curl the hair. That way it stays a lot more longer. I feel like a lot of the times too. Some girls will curl it and then they automatically put brushed our hands through the hair. Sometimes you don't want to do that, because you want that curl to stay in place for a good while so that way it holds the curl and it lasts a lot more longer. Now one thing that you could do as well as you guys could tell this piece right here: did not curl the best, so i'm just gon na go back in with the curling iron and i'm going to curl it a little bit more tighter. So it does hold perfect okay, okay, guys! So now that i have this side curled, i still haven't yet brushed my hands through it, i'm to go ahead and start off with this side and, like i said, i'm kind of doing more of like a lazy curl. Today, like i, don't really want to like section off my hair, so this is one of the easiest ways that i could at least do it, and i hope that it works as well for you guys, but i'm going to go ahead again, start in the back And i'm going to curl, so me, okay, guys! So this is the finished. Look. I yeah. I have to um put my hands in it, so i'm gon na go ahead and do that now just go ahead and kind of ruin, the curl! That'S all you got to do so. It'S going to come out like that. What do you think, okay and now what i'm going to do is i'm going to take just a regular comb? I don't have my teasing comb. I have it at work um, but usually what i like to do because of me wearing extensions. I feel like it always looks like thicker in here, which it always does, but i am missing volume up here just because i do have um thin hair. I don't have really thick hair, so i'm gon na go ahead and i'm going to kind of just lift it. Nothing crazy! Just give it a little bit of volume and if i feel like i want to go ahead and redo some pieces, i'm going to go ahead and do that as well. Sometimes, if you feel like you want to go back like i'm doing right now, just because i feel like sometimes when you do brush through the curl a lot of the times they do get like super straight and flat. So i kind of want to redo it, especially like here in the back: okay, okay, guys so really quickly before we um get done with this video. I do want to go ahead and show you guys um, i i didn't put it in my hair right before i curled my hair, just because i did take a shower this morning and it is later on throughout the day. So i did just let my natural hair air dry, but what i did right when it was damp. I go ahead and i put in the infusion by truss professional, and this is the 100 vegan wax base um, it's high tech and organic actives in it. So i'm going to go ahead and show you guys so this right here um, because when i was curl um, coloring my hair and trying to get lighter. I was coming from a very dark color, so my hair did get a little bit damaged and shout out to my hairstylist south mark south. I bought it from him and it's highly moisturizing, it's reconstructive, it's also anti-aging anti-frizz. It adds softness extra shine and also it adds a protective layer to the cuticle, especially when you are styling out the hair kind of like a heat protectant. So i go ahead and i put about three pumps of this in my hair now, also to what i add, along with it, is the nevo hydro pearl replenishing oil by pravana, just because this is a thicker base and when i put it in, you don't want It to look greasy so this right here kind of calms it and it neutralizes it. So i highly recommend these two um ask your local hair stylist. If you guys want, i could do a giveaway. What temperature do you recommend for color treated gray hair? I have strong hair but wouldn’t say corse. It’s down to my back and has weight so it does pull down on my curls. So for example, if you have collar bone length hair, go for this size diameter iron, or if you have waist length, use this diameter iron?
