FAQ'S for this video

Where did I get the hair I am using in this video?

-This hair is from www.foxylocksextensions.com (I wouldn't recommend them, In my opinion, there are much better quality extensions on the market)

What color did you get?

-I got color #22 golden blond...It was way too light for my hair so I had to low light them...I did this myself and I used a box dye. This length is 20 inches but I had to cut about 3 inches off for them to look healthy at the bottom :S.

What gram weight of hair did you get?

I got the 160 grams and I needed to add extra hair I had to it to make them thicker to blend better with your hair.

Why are the wefts so long?

-I took all the extensions apart and put them back together to lay more flat against my head.

Hi guys so um today, I just decided to do an updated how to install your hair extensions video, just because my very first video that my very first tutorial that I put on here was um. I haven't installed hair extensions or how to put in hair extensions. Video - and I just I just feel like I should do new one but yeah so here's. Obviously this is my hair after so yeah. I hope you guys like it okay, so as you can see my hair, I don't know if you saw my first extension. How do I tell hair extension video, but my hair's a little bit longer now than it was then um, I think then it was like, probably like up to here over hair is so short. I still do the exact same thing as I did with um, when my hair is really really short. So what you guys are going to need you're going to need um like a back combing cone um a couple Clips. I usually only need one, but it's just because I have really fine hair. So a couple Clips big Clips, whatever um hair spray, I'm just using the Garnier Fructis um, flexible control spray hold it really. Any hairspray will do okay. So what I'm going to do? I'M going to start off by parting, my hair really really low at the bottom, so I usually just use my fingers for this. I can do it really quick, so you want to try to make the part as straight as possible. Hope you guys in handy Oh after straightening, my whole head, like my extensions, were already in so my hair is already straightened, but usually, as I would go out, straighten my hair, as I put my extensions in but you're going to do just going to take care Of backcombing, cold and back home and, like I said my heroes already, I already fit into my hair today. So I don't need a lot of back combing and then you're gon na fry it and then you're, going to put your first piece in, and my first piece looks like this: it has three clips on it and it's really exactly like from here to here. It goes right from here to here. This is to help conceal the extensions from the front. Um sure yeah see how close it is to my hairline, I'm not shooting from the front. This is so see how you can even kind of still see my hair from the front a little bit. I usually will move it a little bit down, so you can't see as much from the bottom when you have short hair. You always you'll always want to do like they close through the bottom of your hair as possible um. This is just so. You know it blends better it'll move more naturally, and I don't know I just found this works the best. So I'm going to take my hair down and I'm going to part my hair again directly above my last one about a finger width apart, putting finger width apart front so just parting, my hair again hook it up and then again, like I said just back home. It mine is already dying back middle and I do it again and spray it, and then I'll put my second piece and then this piece is a little bit bigger than my first piece like a little bit longer, but it still has the three clips on it. I do my extensions a little bit differently because since I make my own since I sew my own clips on so it's going to be a little bit different. If you have some that you bought online so see how it's like this, it's really possibly a finger width from my other extension, and you want to put it in as close to the part as possible. So then this is what it looks like so far. Okay, so my routine changed a little bit from the last time. I put my extensions in um. I added one more piece like this to the back of my head, just because I felt like you have more hair at the back of your head anyways. So I thought, if I added one more piece in the back it'll, it would blend better and and just add more thickness to the backward there where it actually should. So let me do that. I just parted directly above the last one, see how it's like still below the top of my ear. This is just still the back of my head. This one again is a little bit wider than my last one, because as we're putting them in, it gets wider. As we go up okay, so now I have three pieces in and, as you can see, you could sing to my natural hair a little bit once we have all them and you won't notice that anymore, okay, so next I'm going to do my this. Is that honestly, it takes me like five minutes to do this every day, especially for years already straightened. So I'm going to part my hair again up it up back point and I'm only gon na back home, where I may be putting the clips in so back. Comb comb, I guess I already did this hair spray, so this is where it gets a little bit different than if you were to buy them online. I see I have like a long left. I measured them for my head that I just used for to completely go around my head, so I'm just going to do the same thing with there. You go this piece you're going to want to put pretty close, see how I parted it. I parted it only a little bit above my ear like here's, my ear and here's the part, that's because you don't want your underneath hair showing like right here. You want to blend in so when you have short hair you're going to want to put that closest to the your ear as possible. So I'm going to take my hair down total I'm going to be using like eight and a half, and I guess like eight and a half pieces or nine pieces for my whole head and most of them are just gon na go around my head like this And then I'll show you when I get to the top, but for now I'm just going to speed through this part, because the exact same thing as I did a finger width apart, all the way up my head, so this is going to be really quick. This is going to be my second last piece right here and, as you can see, you can still tell that I have you know my short hair on top um, but this is my second last piece and what I did is I put four clips on my Second last piece: this is because it's going to be pretty high up on my head, and I want to make sure that it's not going to move and you're not going to be able to see the extensions as well. So I think that, as I have four of them, it just secures it more in place, so they won't move around as much I'm going to just you think thing root in my hair. Now, with this piece, I'm going to move it more closely to this side, because my hair is parted on this side. So I'm going to need more hair on this side anyway. So I'm putting it closer to my sorry, I'm putting it closer to my hairline, because that's going to be the most it's going to blend better with the front of my hair, which I'll show you see this one only goes up to there. Okay, as you can see, it's getting a little bit better and um, so I've already layered and now, if you cannote, if you notice I've already layered my hair a little bit enough - and this is after I already put in my hair - I layered it. So it would blend, you know with my bangs and everything so see how it's still like. I don't. I want my hair to go seamlessly or flawlessly from my bangs to my hair, so I just added one extra piece and this one has two clips on it. I really should have put 2/3 um. I actually want to make this one, maybe a little bit shorter, let's see how its layered in the front too. So I'm just going to add this piece on this side just so it gives it more hair on this side. So it looks like this, then again you would backcomb and hairspray. If you need it, some people don't even need it. So I'm going to clip this in about an inch away from my bang. So let's see how it blends really nicely. It goes right down into like layered front layers and then what I do is I just brush my hair through blend it all in make sure I will blend it and there you go so, as you can see when I move my head, you can't see where My short hair is so I hope you guys like this. I'M sorry if you already watched my other one, but I just did a few little tweaks and changes to my new kind of routine for my hair and if you guys liked it, please comment right and subscribe and I'll talk to you guys soon. Hi

Leather NLace: you did such a great job. I'm crazy about extensions looking real and these are super fantastic. I have fine hair too and have a really hard time keeping the clips from slipping.

Jessica Heaton: Probably one of the best blends I've seen of short hair hair extensions! Totally looks real! Great job, beautiful!

AmiRhodes: This is awesome, thank you so much! The tutorial is really easy to follow. I feel confident about getting extensions now :)

Jessica.Rae: this is perfect! the subtle placements of the wefts really make all the difference and have really helped me blend my short hair in with my new set of extentions. thank you for making this! I was worried id wasted my money but this video helped so much!!!!

Shelley Taylor: Great tutorial. Really helped me do my first time extensions xx

Elle Chevan: This is the best video I've seen yet on this ..the finish look is amazing so natural and well blended!

Lydia M: Thank you so much, hun! My mom has hair even shorter than yours and was wondering how to put her extensions in. This really helped her!

Kat BeWitched: This is my FAVORITE extensions video by far and I think I have racked up hundreds. I have learned so much from your hair tutorials and I genuinely thank you. I got extensions and my hairdresser highlighted them the same colors as my highlights. She also layered the wefts closest to my face so the layers blend - just as you did. I, too, found I needed a weft or 2 more towards my bottom so I found a second set that matches my lowlights. By doing what you did with the 2 clip close to your hairline at my part (just under my part) my extensions blend so much more beautifully. I finally worked up the nerve to wear them to work and they look so nice that people's jaws dropped. Even though I am novice still learning to style mine I am having fun wearing them. Thank you again. ☺️

J Scott: Awesome thank you! I know it's 5 years later but this seriously helped me after a stylist butchered my hair and made me look like Kurt cobain. Thanks!

Jolanda: Thank you so much for uploading this video! It had been a while (5 years) since I used clip in extensions last so it took me a while to get used to them again. I found your video REALLY helpful while putting them in. Major thank you!

Gingerlakegirl: I finally have some time to sew my own like you do. What are your measurements for each piece, and how many pieces total do you use to acheive this look in the video? Also, do you know about how many grams of hair are in this set? Thanks so much for your videos!!! :)

Rochelle McDermott: it looks really nice and natural, i think im going to have to get my hairdresser to layer my extensions for me. i thought i couldnt wear mine anymore after getting my hair cut short to get rid of all my dead ends, glad i can now thanks to your tutorials :) xx

Jordan Angharad Gould: this tutorial is brillliant - i went from being really disappointed with my new clip ins to super pleased with them! thank you!

Deborah T: I have similar hair texture. Thank you for your tips. The extensions look natural and blend in so well in your hair!

Liz May: Thank you! I just got my hair cut a few months ago to get rid of the dead ends and now my hair is really short. Well, longer than yours but to me it's pretty short. Anyway, I was going to get extensions possibly but I thought there would be to big of a difference between my natural hair and the extensions but thanks to your video I have no problem.

Brittany cordle: I finally can say I've learned something from a hair extension video. thanks Beautiful

Yessica16: Nicely done! I'm working up the courage to try extensions on my shoulder length bob, and this video helped a lot. Thanks for sharing.

Emma: Thank you so much. I did one of those at home keratin straightening treatments a while back but didn't read the part where it said not to do if you have ever bleached you hair. Well, long story short... I had to chop my hair to my ears. It has grown out some now, thank god, and is about your natural length. I've seen other videos on how to put in extensions when you have longer hair and it just did not work quite right with my length. I finally found your video and it has helped tremendously.

Sandra: this is really the best tutorial for extensions i've seen! gorgeus result! wish i had the patience, talant and money to make my own extensions.. i have pretty much the same hairstyle as you, but curly so this was very helpful! thx

urbanARTkid: I just bought hair extensions and I wish I would have seen this video before I made mine. Yours looks so much nicer than what I came out with. The lady at the store told me and my sister in law to double layer the strands with the clips to make it thicker... yeah... wow... You're awesome.

Jacqueline Davie: OMG! You cant even tell that you are wearing extensions!Awesome job! Thanks for sharing. :)

emma8547: This is one of the most natural sets of clip-ins i have ever seen. Nice job.

Desktop Kitty: Wow, I'm amazed how flawless the extensions blended in.  I'm thinking of trying this.  A couple months ago my daughter (she didn't understand not to do this, haha) gave me a surprise "haircut" right on the back of my head.  I had to have it all cut to blend in.  It used to fall to the middle of my back, and now my hair is less than shoulder length.  I miss having long hair.. to play with or pull back in a ponytail, etc.

AhoyButternuts11: very helpful :) I just recently got my weave taken out, using my extensions as clip ins now. Looks much better. Thanks! :D

Antikia: Wow that's definitely the best hair extension camouflage i've ever seen, great job! And good video all round, a pleasure to watch :)

Alexandra Meijer: The first one who explainds it simpel and normaly. Thank you so much! It helps me a lot! Greetings from Alexandra of the Netherlands.

TenaciousDominion: Very informative. Thank you

Poptimism: Out of all the tutorials I've seen this is by far the best! Nowhere else explains as well as you! And cutting the wefts yourself to match your head size is great! I'd think that was your real hair! Thankyou!!!!

alexandra frank: Thank you for your super informative videos! I wanted to do some research on extensions before purchasing my first pair and turned to you tube hoping to find someone I could trust and you are her! You answered all my questions and now I know who to but from! Thanks again, you're awesome!!

Stacy bromfield: Thank you for posting really helped! Never done this before but I feel confident about putting them in now! :)

Janet Hardy: It looks beautiful and you sure can’t tell that is extensions. I also love the straight hair. To me the generic curls the everyone is doing is a dead giveaway for extensions. It is lovely.

Anya Hallow: Great tutorial thank you. I am doing extensions on clients now so this will help me :-)

NicciC: this is flawless. If I saw her on the street I would never fucking know she's wearing them.

Malvina Sergeychik: YOU DID AN AMAZING JOB BLENDING THEM IN!!! ONE OF THE BEST HERE ON U/T <3 IT!!!

My hair's about the same length as yours is too in this video, so that's an added bonus. :) Thank you so much for posting!

MissLizD13: I have short hair and have tried quiet a free times to put my extensions in and I can't get them to blend at all. I think I have 6-8 pieces. my hair is thin, light moving hair so the wind blows it around a lot. over even gone to a couple salons where I live to blend my hair and extensions even if to thin and layer my hair and they made things worse so I have to wait until my hair grew out a bit more to try again. I've had to get new extensions due to how the salons cut and styled my hair and the extensions... help. my hair is about Tue length in my photo but is all blonde.

fancisophi: THIS was SOOOOO helpful! I agree, one of the BEST TUTORIALS on Youtube, I just want to thank you for your honesty :D

Owen Stewart: This was great ☺️ I'm getting my hair extensions tomorrow or Thursday. I'm really excited to wear them ☺️

Insanely Sara: thank you so much for posting this!!!! I love my short hair but have been lately missing long curls & I've been checking out extensions. I wasn't sure if it would blend (mine is the same length as yours) so I am SO excited!

Lexi Fratus: Wow I have extensions and I watch TONS of videos about them. Yours look the most natural and well blended I have ever seen! I could usually tell if someone has extensions just because I know how they fall. But I would have never guessed if I saw you! Great video!

Fallon: When I put the clips up high on my head like you did you can see them right through my own hair and it looks horrible

G.D. Romanov: Love it! Gonna take my extensions out and practice to make it as awesome as yours.

Denise Duque: This was a great video! I've been trying to grow my hair out and I get to a certain point and I end up cutting it all off again...so I thought about maybe doing the hair extensions so I did a search on how to use them...My hair is about your length and curley....You make is took so simple....I'm going to Sallys right now to see what they have! You did mention that you put your own clips on....do you make your own extensions? or are you able to add clips? Thanks for the info...great job!!

Funsiz3ddKay: U gave alot of good advice! This will actually help me know how to do this myself without any help.

Laycie Davis: Thank you so much for making this video it is super helpful and you did an amazing job!!

Mrscupcakelovex: you can barley tell you have extensions in your hair

TehPlastiquee: By far the most natural looking clip in application on YouTube. <3

Ash_brii: Those extensions blend perfectly and match great :) You look amazing

Crown.: It looks beautiful on you! :) And it's so natural. Gorgeous, just gorgeous. You did a amazing job tho :)

Vivian Khuu: That looks really natural. Great job!

Никол: Great job! looks good! I'm thinking of doing the clip in extensions as I'm getting tired of the glue

HairGirl247: @sunshinelovey i always unclip all of my extensions first and slide them all out at once. Seems to be the fastest and easiest way for me!

Susan Fracasso: This is the best extension how to of all. I have watched all of them! Thank you!

Melisa Awesomepants: This helped out so much! Thanks! and love the hair c:

Fangotica: this is probably my favorite hair extension video, ever. you're sooo beautiful & you work those extensions (:

KonaSitkaRose: Very, very cool. You must have done this a lot because it was so perfect and fast!!! Looks beautiful!

Bella Collins: Your video was a lot easier to understand and my extentions stayed in great. Thanks

Marie Jean: Your such a freaking genius! I was looking online, in store, etc, and I just found your video, and you make it looked so much easier! Thanks!

RobinaStylist: Very well demonstrated. Thank you:)

samantha carsley: This video is great, can't wait for my hair extensions to arrive so I can start practising. Thanks :-)

Aliah: great job! It blends so nicely

tubeyousped: I am glad you made this video. I have the same haircut and I saw someone else do a short hair video on extensions and she did such a bad job that I wasn't going to order them. Since seeing you do it, now I may actually order them since they can look ok. Would you suggest two packs of hair that come with seven wefts each and what is the maximum length you would suggest for the length of hair you have as mine is the same length? Thanks! :)

cisforcooki3s: wow, your extensions and real hair blend seamlessly! good job.

Adrianne Monique: You make it look so easy!!

krekka55: Great video it helped me a lot. You made it look easy i guess you've had a lot of practice :D

Kennedy Carmichael: Great tutorial :) my hair is a bit longer then yours, but I had one hell of a time to blend in my extensions. I find that when I release my natural hair over a weft, some of my hair kinda sticks out, it looks like I have a bump of random hair poking out. Does that happen because I have clipped to weft to high up? I find it so annoying and time consuming to fix. I also own FoxyLocks, they are the very first extensions I tried, and I hate that the clips doen't sit very flat.

Pammy Vincent: AWESOME, THANK YOU!!! You make it look so so easy... XO :)

Ajanson94: your extensions blend so nicely! working on mine, got some ideas on how to make them blend better from watching your video. Thanks!

alexis fazio: Looks great! So did you make your own, or how did you go about this...I had a braided weave in my hair last year that lasted all of two days because of the braids i was itching like crazy!!!! I would LOVE to do this as well, but I just don't know how to go about it.

Bre'Donda Rae: Omg thank you! This was so so helpful! When I searched how to clip ion extensions every freaking girl had long hair already so finally I added for short hair lol my hair is the exact same length as yours n fine but looks full when curly my hair is naturally curly n kinda thick so I like it better straight ((u can see that in my videos) but anyways I have questions, ok I've only had extensions once in my life .. a few months ago lol but they were glued in I hated it. It itched like crazy n...

Wolf Whitlock: Oh my gosh, this was sooooo helpful. So glad I stumbled across this! :))

KlaraZita: Thank you so much for this video. You made a great tutorial.

Evamarie Bartlett: omg finallyyy someone made a good tutorial for short hair that actually helps!

Kate Anderson: It literally looks completely natural! You have done them so well! Just wondering though were do you get your extensions from?

Caroline Blasi: Very helpful!  Thank you so much!  :o)

cee veril: Well, the good thing is that there are many beautiful hair extensions that look completely real that can make you have the hair you want!

S S: Wow this is amazing!! It looks flawless :) :) I wish I had your patience! I just slap em' in lol but I'm learning because obviously if you take the time then they can look as good as yours!
