Cornrows With Extensions On My Microlocs | Keke J.

Foreign, hello, guys it is kiki. Here it's been a little minute since we done something with my hair on the channel. I just feel it's time it's time to do something different y'all know how i am. I can keep a certain style for a little bit, but i always itch for a change, so in today's video we are going to be. You know you remember when i did the cornrows a couple of months ago on my micrologs. So this time i'm going to be doing cornrows with extensions. Yes, i just uh, you know i i from my clip-in video. You know. Sometimes you just want a little bit more length, sometimes a little bit more volume and i feel like micro locks when people get locks, there's a huge misconception with them. I feel people feel that you can't really do anything else with your hair, except for just have the locks like no, we can do other stuff too. We can do other things. We can add extensions. If we want, we can do braids if we want. I wouldn't recommend doing all of this like when you're just starting out on your loc journey, but we can do protective styles with our hair with extensions. As you know, we got a little emerald up here in the front. We'Re going to be moisturizing her today and then i'm going to be adding the extensions. I don't know if i want to do as many cornrows as i did last time so uh if you've been with me for a while. I did like two strand twist extensions about a year ago. I put a picture up here. It turned out excellent, no tension on my hair at all, and it did no damage to my locs as well, so guys we're going to be using that same hair and this hair will be linked in my bio. As far as moisturizing tools i use to re-tighten the products i use. Everything is in there that i use on my hair. I believe this is a 1b, so it's not gon na be yump. I knew it, but it's okay! It'S okay! Ain'T! Nobody supposed to be up on my hair, that close anyway, but this is what we got. I haven't used this hair since then um, but it's just basically long locks, it's a little bit bigger than most of my locs, but not too big, but they were long. They were like double this length, so i cut them in half, but you know you could just twist them into your locks, but let's go ahead and moisturize my hair, i'm going to do this off camera because i've done my moisture routine. A couple of times on the channel uh, nothing has changed as of right. Now, still my lion locks products rose water. When i want to deep moisture i steam her alrighty guys, i'm trying to do this and film a tick tock at the same time. So i do apologize if things are coming out a little weird, but hey am i bright enough? I feel like i'm right, so i moisturize my lungs as you can tell they look a little bit more manageable than before um, but now i'm just gon na. I always want a middle part for sure middle part is my sig, my signature. I think i want to do at least six, because i think when you do two and two on each side, it kind of looks big, so i'm gon na say six. So i'm just gon na gauge out, so one needs to be here and then the other two there. But since my hair is finer here, this one can be a little bit larger. Let'S see, let's check yeah, i think that's gon na work yo. I just scratched my face what the heck wow, literally all my injuries, come from me me, okay, so i got that section dog, so i've sectioned away what i want. I believe, that's good. It doesn't have to be perfect. First of all, my parts are not built for cornrows, but the front is the back is not so. What i'm gon na do is just start cornrowing and then about three fourths of the way. Back we'll start yeah i'll, probably do two pieces at a time two pieces of the time, because i want them kind of juicy. I want them a good length and i want them juicy getting a couple laid out here on my lap, okay guys. So now i'm just going to start braiding. It is me voice over kiki stepping in and i'm just going to get into the cornrowing now and i'll do my best to explain. Okay, now, i'm going to start adding in the hair so bear with me guys. So i'm taking one of the hairs here and i'm going to put it up under my middle finger and then begin to braid like normal, this kind of conceals it within the braid. I'M going to do it a couple of more times for you, don't worry, put the hair under my middle finger and then continue to braid like normal, and this will begin to blend the hair in. I hope i am explaining that good again, i'm taking a piece of hair, putting it under my middle finger, which is the middle section, and then i'm going to continue to braid like normal. The other side should fall onto the left side and then once that happens when you braid, like normal you'll, begin to have hair in each section, and you just want to keep doing that until you get your desired thickness again. I please. I hope that this made sense in the middle, take the left side and then continue to braid like so and, as you can see, i'm just filling around to make sure i have each lock gathered and into the braid. And if i notice a section is a little bit tighter if it's pulling a little bit too tight, i go back and kind of like tug on it to make it not tight anymore, because y'all know i do not like tension. It'S easy to get tension when you're adding extension, so you want to make sure you're still braiding as loose as possible, but you know sometimes that doesn't always happen. If it does get tight, you can go back and pull on it a little bit to make sure it's not tight and i'm just moving on down to make sure i have as much hair as i want, because i do want it a pretty good thickness. I want it to match the thickness that it does on my head, but you know of course, gradually it's gon na get thinner over time. So now i'm just gon na braid it down and try to stick in any pieces that i'm missing that you know. Since my hair is shorter, there's gon na be some stick outs like this little piece here. Let'S try to like tuck it in yeah, i'm just gon na keep braiding. I think this is a good size. You can see it looks a little different, but it's okay. Stick the flyaways in okay y'all. This is coming out better than i thought i'm trying to see. If i want to leave the end a little loose, i think i do and i'm just going to take a rubber band and secure it in and then we'll go back in and tuck this in. As far as tucking in the flyaways, i just kind of oh y'all, i'm getting a little hype, i'm getting a little hype, listen you're! Not about to be able to tell me nothing. Oh, we got a pic. A big piece here. Need you not okay, guys and that's one braid wait a minute? Okay! Well, yes, y'all! Let'S keep moving excuse my excitement there guys. I got a little too hyped for just a moment, but i was really impressed because i didn't think it was gon na turn out that great, even though my cornrows from a couple months ago did i've never done cornrows with extensions on my locs before so. Yes, i was very hyped um now the color of the extensions don't match my hair 100 as well as the texture and that's okay. We just want a cute little protective style for the summer. I don't always want my hair in my face. You know, but so i do think this is. I do think this is a great protective style for that um. But yes, i'm just doing the same thing. Hopefully, you guys were able to see exactly what i'm doing here and i'm gon na explain it one more time. So i'm just gon na take a piece of hair. Put it under my middle finger, grab the other side with the left side and then braid it in okay. Now, let's start going in with two, so we got two here when i tell y'all this is a process. I was making sure to take my time and i wanted to make sure i didn't have any tension if, for some reason i had a little bit of tension, i made sure to go back and release the tension. It took some time it took me about two hours, but it was so much worth it because the outcome i really enjoyed, especially for when i just don't want to wear my hair down. I want a different look where it's out of my face: it's being protected and it's cute like this is perfect, absolutely perfect, but i'm just finishing up this braid here and once i get to the end where i want i'm going to secure it with a rubber Band and we are done with that - one um and then i do go in and you know tuck in the flyaways and make sure those are all good to go, and this is what we're looking like so far, but it looks good i mean i don't know How y'all are feeling? Oh, i'm gon na come back when i finish everything and do my makeup baby? Okay, guys this is the finished result. Oh my gosh, because some of the pieces were getting a little bit on the thinner side. So i wanted to go back in and you know just make sure they were looking thick all the way down now, since the hair is 1b, it's not blending perfectly with my hair. But can you really tell i don't know here's the back? Here'S the back! Oh! My gosh hold on hold on hold on this is not a sponsored video by the way, this is not sponsored. This is just hair that i've had for the past year and i wanted to try a different style with it, but y'all i'm kind of obsessing right now, i'm kind of obsessing, let me see hold on because i was just like really here for the cornrow style That i did a couple months ago and i was like i ran into this bag in my closet. I was like hold on. Let'S try to make some longer cornrows, so i'm glad i tried it out baby perfect for vacation. If you don't just want to wear it out anytime in the spring and summer, this is a good style for me, cause honey, she's, giving she's definitely giving what i wanted her to give. Oh sorry, i can't oh man and i was concerned because i was like well. I really don't want to do six braids because they are kind of chunky. They are kind of chunky, maybe next time i'll do four and four on each side. But i don't know, let me know what y'all think i think it turned out good. It took me about an hour and a half probably two hours to do. This, though cause like i've kept trying to you know. Some of these are still coming out by the way, the flyweights that took up a lot of time and then trying to make sure the thickness was consistent, because it looks weird when your hair is thick up here and then it's just thin down here. So i wanted to make sure it was like pretty like even all the way throughout, but obviously it gets smaller at the end because you know you're finishing the braid, but yes barbara. I left the ends loose. So this is what they look like. I, like that to you i'm here, i'm here like i have no complaints, except for it was a challenge. It was a challenge. So if you're wanting to do this style, make sure you have a couple hours, maybe three hours max carved away. So you can, just you know, really focus and get the hair added. I think it was worth it. I'M definitely keeping it like this for a little minute baby. Let me know what y'all think. Let me know how i did. I definitely think this hair is worth grabbing. If you, you know, have micro locks and you want a little extra length, sometimes a little extra volume, but with braided styles or twisted styles. And again i did do this hairstyle a couple months ago with this same hair. So you know baby listen, this is a win and i think it was only like 30 bucks, literally for like six or seven eight bundles thirty dollars and i'm using this a year later baby come on. But yes guys.
