#3: Hair Extensions Tutorial (Clip-Ins) - "Aurora Black Series Professional" Hair

I DID A SEW-IN (WEAVE)... CHECK OUT THE TUTORIAL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1m5UB6...

CHECK OUT MY VIDEO ON HOW TO DO CLIP-INS IN A PONYTAIL..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbybyGg...

Check out this young lady's video. She actually shows the hair in it's original packaging http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kajpa7O...

My alternative to wearing a sew-in. It's a great protective style.

The hair is called "Aurora Black Series Professional" 100% Remy Hair

The 3 bottom tracks are 14 inches long. The next one up is 12 inches long, and the top one is 10 inches long. I cut them to those sizes. The hair was a lot longer than that when I bought it.

I bought the hair from My Local Beauty Supply Store, but if you would like to buy it online.... I found a website:

.

***UPDATE*** This is another website that sells the hair:

Hi guys today, I'm going to show you how to do clip in extensions and actually do them a little different than most people. I actually call and roll my hair do for or about five rows, and then I put the clips onto those. I do this as a protective style, so I want to protect the hair, that's underneath, so I don't want like my hair in between each track. So what I do is I braid it up and I will show you guys how to do that. It'Ll come up nice and smooth and nice and flat like this, it's blended in I'll bring all of it to the front so I'll blend it in. I leave about this much of my ear out in some on the side and you get to see that this hair is actually about two years old um. I got this hair like August of Oh 9, so it's almost 2 years old. I had this actually sold in my hair at one time and when I got it taken out, it's still good, so I kept it and actually made clips out of in the hair is by a brand called Aurora. I wish I still had the box to show you guys, but I don't have it anymore. I tried to look online to get a picture of the box, so you can see it, but it's really hard to find online if I am able to find it online I'll either post a picture after the video or post a link where you can click to It to find the picture I'm actually only using like 5 rows, so I like it a little thin. I don't like my hair too thick, so what my hair, the longest my hair has been is been about right here. Right here has been this long before and it actually grows this thin. Some people may say this is thick um. I think it's kind of thin compared to how my hair used to growing. I was younger, but I want the extensions to come in the way. My hair, when my hair would grow so, if you're interested in learning, how I put in my clip in extensions and keep on watching. Okay, now we're going to get started with um first moisturizing, my hair put in my herbal essence long-term relationship. So I have that and I haven't relaxed my hair and, like I want to say three months, I did relax the front last week, just the like my edges and I'm looking over here examine my mirror here. So I can make sure that I'm moisturizing everything and I just do like one pump. I start on the ends. First, you. What I like to have is a rat tail comb and then also my thick. I called my shower comb that I use in the shower. When I um do my conditioner so have that so the first one that I'm going to do is going to be. I do five um five tracks, so the first one is going to be at this point of my ear. The second one is going to be right above my ear, the third one. I measured that with my eyebrow, like the very tip of my eyebrow. So that's the third one. The fourth one will be like right above my brow, four and then five is kind of tricky. I look at the point part right here, my eyebrow and go diagonally and that's where the fifth one is, and so let's see the first one I'm going to go right here. On that point away, I row I mean my ear. Okay, there we go. Okay, nose keeps edgy Kay; I just want to make sure I can comb through it. Okay and I've been growing my hair out now for about a little over a year. I have one of these little rubber bands and I'll show you what I need that in a second, so I just put the right there, but I've been growing my hair out for about a year and a half um. I did cut my hair really really short back in January of last year, so now it's growing pretty good. It'S like right! There now on each side is like right. There yeah, so it's growing. Okay know what you're going to do is you're going to start to quarrel, rehear so see. If I can cover and show you guys, you, okay and you don't have to bring it all the way down to the end. I'M just putting a little River be right here for now we'll be taking the rubber band out, but that's just for now through the the second point, and the second point is above the ear now the first side. I start on this side and I went over here so the little tails on this side, the second one, I'm gon na start on this side. So it's a little tail will be on this side, but this tail will be connected up in there and I'll show. You what I mean I'll just lie there right now that there okay, you so I'm just going to keep on going all the way up. I'M not going to do it all on camera because I do work faster when I don't explain it, but I'm just going to keep on going up so the next one is going to be right. The next points on me right here and website on the side and then so I'm that cut and then, when I get to the top, you don't have one tail hanging and it's going to usually be on this side and I'll show you what what that looks. Like when I get back okay, I'm back and it only took about ten minutes, and so all I did want to. I do what I let you guys know that I part it behind my ear. Let me show you because I forgot to tell you guys how much to lead out so what I did was I measured from my ear all the way up, so this is all going to stay out right here and then the same on this side. Now you can see that I measured the first one was right here. Second, one is above my ear. The third line right with my eyebrow. This one was like at the top of my eyebrow and then the last one was at a diagonal right there. I blow-dried the top just a little bit so that um, because it was real damp. Let me show you the back. We had this up right here. I can show you the back and there's that little tail that was left. So this is the neck. So I started here, then I connected it right that way connected it up. That way, can I do it that way? I love it to the top. So this is the last one right here and then, when it's time to put the extensions in this is not going to connect to anything just going to lay this down and when you clip this one right here, that's going to hold this break it down. When you do this clip to this one and I'll speed all this up, while I um blow joining flat iron right here - okay, so that's about it - and I like to put my part going over on my right side. Okay, so listen! I met back there. Okay, we'll just put those back like that: okay, now it's time to make sure your clips are straight before you put them in, do a couple swipes through and then like curl the ends a little bit, especially at the bottom, like the first two or three ones. You take the three clips and then we're going to do the bottom, one first, the bottom row and each one of these are doubled. So I have two web saan each one, except for the small and the small is just single. That'S why it looks thinner and the top one is. The curtain mean the other one's a thicker. If I was going to wear my hair curly, I would go ahead and put this one on, because this is a longer one. No go ahead and put this on and just keep going up and try get to the top. But since I'm going to wear my hair straight - and this doesn't look right on the top, this is going to be number three instead of the original number three. But when I do a video on me curling, it you'll see this one on the top and then you'll see what I was referring to. You is my brush. You can see it right now because that's the top one, that's the top one, but once I put the other ones on, you can't see it. So imagine if this was on the top, how happy it looks so choppy it will look if that was on the top. So I don't use that one right there! Okay, now this is going to be the one that you're going to hide the tail. So now it's covering the little the little track under it. So here's the last one I'll do this one from the front, so I can see so we have this, and this will come over into my past, the braid and I did that so it wouldn't be a bump there. So I made sure that I did the braid back a little far there. We go then just comb this over and then what I like to do is go back over it. Just certain parts where I grabbed my hair and extensions make sure to turn this down, because I do this on low setting and then see the brush and that's just a blend of two there's old pan is still sticking up. We do okay, so that's it from the side and then straight back so sit in the back of the side. This is the back and you shouldn't be able to see that little track. That'S the back! That'S the side! Hope you guys liked tip and as soon as the next video bye

Kimberly: I braid my hair underneath to protect my real hair from rubbing on my clothes & getting tangled. Braiding doesn't damage the hair unless you braid too tight. It allows you to let you real hair rest. When we wear extensions, we tend to comb or brush our hair a few times during the day. You don't want to comb nor brush your real hair too many times during the day. Also I find that when I don't braid.... my real hair gets tangled in w/ the extensions... I hope this helps :-)

ReilaalieЯ: I just tried this technique and I'm pleased already! I recently started wearing clip-ins and it would take me like 30 minutes to carefully part and clip them into my hair. After getting the back of my hair braided up just like this, I had the hair in within 5 minutes. Definitely gonna keep this up!

finaldestinationkish: this is perfect! I've been using clip in extensions for about a year now.I'm always trying to get my hair to blend with the extensions but all i have to do is braid it underneath! my hair has feathered layers and is down to my shoulders and the extensions are 20". so I'm going to try this!

Jasmine: I finally found this video thank you so much....... I can't wait to try this on my hair. This looks way better than trying to blend all my natural wavy hair with the clip-ins and faster than getting a full weave. Thanks again from a NEW SUBSCRIBER!!! :-)

Deandra Brown: Loving this braiding idea. Have you experienced significant hair growth using this method?

Kimberly: @Sapphir122011 Congrats on the baby! Yes, this is a perfect style for busy moms, because it is so easy to just clip in every morning and remove every evening. :-)

kandice randolph: this is exactly what ive been wanting to do as a protective style! thanks for the video. i will definitely be trying your method.

I am not Dai: Thank you for this...I'm doing my first clip ins and I like the way you did yours...I'm also natural and I didn't want to flat iron all of my hair, so this is a pretty cool protective hairstyle

Bianca Dort: best clip in method everrrrrrr thank you

Mistreece: I love it! Beats sewing or gluing anytime! The hair you have is gorgeous, looks very much like your own.

Kimberly: Thanks :-) Since the brand you have looks thin, I would definitely double the clip ins, but don't make them too thick. You want just the right thickness, so it will look natural. Let me know how it turns out :-) Thank you so much for watching.

lv: such a great idea. I cut my hair last summer and I'm trying to grow it out too. You are very good at explaining and your hair looks gorgeous

70’s Fashion &Hair Channel: I love this video! Yours is the first video where you show how you braid your hair down for clip ins. Everyone else is just putting clip ins on their loose hair and I'm wondering how their hair resists tangling with the clip ins!! My hair is relaxed but I'm making extra long straight clipins and I hope it turns out right.

uptown lady: Excellent video! Best clip in video on YouTube!!!

MorrocanZween: BEST TUTORIAL EVER! I got some breakage from leaving hair in between rows in the harsh cold winter. I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE this method because I can just unclip the hair from the cornrows and wash my scalp leaving it clean and fresh once I put back the clip ins!! Thanks my dear

me not you: wow, it looks so natural :o the color matches your hair perfectly and the length isn't exaggerated. when I started watching I was like "daamn guurl, you don't need extensions your hair is hella pretty!"

Renee Kissel: Thank you so much for this! You helped me get rid of the bump! Lovely, informational video that makes hair look gorgeous and natural. I am a fan!

kimbareid: I swear, I've watched this vid like 40 times b4 i did my clips in. Love the cornrows, helps my hair grow and protect it at that same time, and holds the clips gr8 too. Thanks sooo much. Looking forward to more vids.

I Am Me: How come i can't cornrow and everybody else can?

Khala Mcshan: I LOVE this tutorial. I am certainly going to be using this as a protective style :)

Kimberly: clip them on your hair just above the braid (hope that makes sense). And the braid will work as a guard, so they won't slip out of the hair. Hope this helps :-) Thanks for watching.

Donna Re' Brown: My hair use to be long and thick and I always hated the thickness until it started thinning. I decided to use clip-ons and I watched your video. My hair turned out awesome for the first time. I am sure I will perfect it with time. I think I should focus on aligning my braids a little better. Also, it looked like your clip-ons fit your head perfectly and I had to work with mine a little more. In any event, thanks.... love it!

Sophia Smith: I think this is my favorite technique so far for clip ins. I just started wearing some last week but its killin me havin to flat iron my hair everyday cause im natural and my hair wont stay silky straight. Next time im def gonna try this technique!!

Angela Eacholes: You remind me of Yandy Smith from love and hip hop.. but any who.. I love the video. I must try this. Thanks for sharing.

TemBrie Redd-Wafer: Excellent videos! You are an excellent instructor. I've learned so much from your videos. Thanks. And keep up the superior work.

Destinyatk: Great video. I wear clip-ins all the time but I've never thought of braiding my hair until now. My hair is thin & sometimes it's hard for the clips to stay where I want them bcause of my hair being very straight. I will def try this method. I'm trying to thicken my hair back up with vit & giving it a rest. Haven't permed my hair in 8 mo. & it is growing but this will protect it better. I'm tired of wrapping it evrynite. Now all I'll need to do is take the clipped hair out & put on my scarf. :)

Aaliyah Smith: I just love this helpful clip-ins video. It's really helpful. I did the same thing you did and it work out! Thank you for being so hopeful!(:

Briana Johnson: I really like this hair tutorial because for 1: it's for African American Hair (other races do their hair COMPLETELY different from us) and 2: it shows how we can braid / protector our hair better. This is gonna help me a lot because i plan on getting extensions for christmas! Thank You! (:

Danna Williams: I love this method. it really does beat a sew-in. I started braiding my hair as well, although i braid going down instead of across.

RJ: I love the way you braided your hair and then add the extensions. I'm gonna be trying this today. You are my inspiration, thank you for sharing!

Kimberly: Thanks. Sorry for the late reply: i used just 1 pack. It depends on how thick your natural hair is, and how thick your want the end result to be. If your hair is about my thickness, and if you want the end result to look simular to mine, you can use just 1 pack of this hair, because this hair is A LOT thicker than most hair extensions on the market. :-) Hope this helps

Kimberly: I bought one pack (it actually comes in box... the box looks like the type of box you put long-stemmed roses in) & it holds a curl very very well. I actually have about 2 videos up, with me curling the hair. Theres a girl on youtube that shows the hair in its original packaging. I have the link to her video in the description bar. Hope this helps hun :-)

Kimberly: Awww. Thanks. Yes, I love this method... it is pricey though.... it's $149 per pack. (you only need 1 pack) But the thing that I love about this hair (other than the fact that it matches my texture), is that it lasts a LONG time... I've have this hair for a few years now.

Kimberly: Awww thanks. sorry for the late reply. When I relax my edges, I smooth them back, and then I smooth them down, and then back again. I don't pull hard on them since I smooth them in different directions. Most people just smooth them back, but I find that they look flater when I go back & down... Hope this helps :-) And I also use "Organic Root Stimular Olive Oil Edge Control" once I am about 4 or 6 weeks post.

littlemisslady2010: I am so glad I found you! I was tryingto find a clip-in method whereI could still keep my hair in a protective style, so thank you sooo much :)

IamKayRenee: Girl... you are a life saver!!! Great video, thanks for sharing! :)

Alexa Campbell: Love this idea!! Going to try this along with no relaxer/heat for 16 weeks! I found some remy extensions on eBay for $16 for 15" long 70g. Thx!! :)

NyShelle Verra: My hair is just like yours and ive been looking for the perfect protective clip in hairstyle, so im sooooo happy I found you ! How many packs did you use ?

miz dior: All five ladies says exactly what was on my mind! this is the BEST method on youtube! nice soothing voice and a natural talented teacher, thanks for sharing!

Kimberley Feehily: Great video, im wanting to do this, my hair is natural and I think this is a great protective style. Flat ironed my hair would come down to just below my chin but I want a bit more length. This is a great tutorial video, really great job. it looks so nice. x

Kimberly: Awesome idea!!!! Thanks for helping everyone. I love it when we all come together and help each other out. :-)

Kimberly: I applied the clips on the weave myself. You can get the clips at any beauty supply store. Just ask them for wig clips. And you can get any hair that best matches your hair texture. I hope this helps :-) (so sorry for the late reply)

Autumn Hickerson: Love love love this video. Out of all the clip in extension videos I've watched, this one is the best one!!!

Monique Moe Williams: Love your hair. Looks so natural. This video was very helpful.

Aisha O: Loved this video! Thank you so much I will definitely try this out !!!

marie love: You did a great job. It came out very pretty. Your the first person I saw braid their own hair, with clip-in hair. The color of the hair blends in very well with your natural hair.

Vanessa Pereira: Wow perfect. Will do mine tomorrow. Great presentation girl :) x

099396k: Hands down, this is really the best clip in tutorial video on YT to date!!

Ashley: This looks sooo good...very natural and one of the best videos i've seen. I might try this tonight.

Saltysweets: So smart! Sew in cornrow with clip extensions! I think it is a great idea ! My hairi s still short on top and tend to freeze for no reason so I am not sure it could blend in but I 'd totally love to try that. Saddly I cannot make cornrows XD

So Fragile: Thank you ever so much for this tip ive been looking for the best method to wear this and you have given me the best, wow, im impressed!

E17312377: I love this! It works perfectly!

Ty Jones: Great! I actually did this to my hair today and I love it! Thanks!

Pam Mitchell: I looking to do something quick after coming out of my braids. It seems very simple. I will try it this weekend. Thank you.

Taylor Marie: gorgeous hair even without the extensions!

Kimberly: @mssexe you can definitely braid & clip in more of your head than I did in the video, but you will have to at least leave out a small piece of your own hair on the top to lay over the very top clip-ins. If not, the track will show. Hope this helps :-)

Kimberly: The Aurora brand just comes as 'weaving hair'... you will have to sew the clips on. I bought mine from my local beauty supply store. Hope this helps :-)

liyya Rose: I really love your hair! , it looks so natural.

Ashantai Hicks: This is absolutely amazing I'm going to try this method now ..I suck at doing my own hair but it's worth a try

Ashantai Hicks: This is absolutely amazing I'm going to try this method now ..I suck at doing my own hair but it's worth a try

Kimberly: @jamaicanpartygirl400 Thanks for watching :-) It depends how well your hair straightens with a flat iron. I have seen some Natural ladies flat iron their hair, and it looks like a fresh relaxer... If your hair does that... then it will blend perfectly.. if not.... you may want to get a curly texture clip-ins, and then do a 'braid out' on your hair that you leave out, so that it can match the curly texture.. Hope this helps :-)

Hey, it's Kimberlee!: Great video. You make it look so easy, which I'm sure it isn't!

PBEs: Love this technique, thanks for sharing!

Dr. Kim Brodie: Braiding the hair first...Such a great idea! I'm giving this a try too. Great video!

kltm: Love this! You have given me a new way to do my hair. Thanks!!

favoured: Yes thank you! even more than I asked. Some ladies in the group of facebook and I love your clip. You did a very good job. Locking forward to see more of your videos.!

Kimberly: Yeah, you can do this method on your transitioning hair. You just want to make sure that you get hair that matches your texture. And take the hair out every night before bed. Sleeping in them causes breakage. Hope this helps :-)

Kimberly: @FancyCrazyLady Thank you so much :-) I used 5 tracks. Double all of them except the top track. You will need atleast 15 clips (3 clips per track). You can use either 14 or 16 inches of hair. (I did cut mine into layers). Yes, this is a good protective style. I tried clipping them in w/out braiding, and they got a little tangled in my hair when taking them out, so I had to find another way to use them, because I love clip-ins, and I thought of this way. :-)

Kimberly: @msBETFOREVER awww Thanks. To match the texture, you want to go into the store to be able to feel the hair, and hold it close to your own hair to see if it matches in texture. Now as far as color, that's ok, because as long as the hair is human hair, you can dye it to match your own hair color. :-)

kayekieable: I love your videos especially this one. I have wanted to try clip in extensions for some time now since viewing another video of yours a while ago. I have problems with regular sew-ins mainly because I cannot properly clean my hair. And at times want to take my hair down to shampoo, but hate to waste the money by doing so. This method will give me the flexibility that I need to do that. I am proud to say that I am finally taking the leap of faith to go and purchase supplies from the beauty store to make my own clip-ins. Thank you sooo much!

Dashara Thomas: LOVE IT!!! IM GOING TO TRY THIS TONIGHT!

BeauteCreole: I must admit that your tutorial is best I have seen thus far. You did an excellent job and your video was in full details. In addition, the clipped weave matches your hair. Their is consistency in texture which makes the hair look natural. Great Job.

tauro3535: You did such a great job and your instructions are very clear, thanks for sharing

checkout1cdc: This is by far the best darn tutorial ever! you were so detailed and your result looks GREAT!!!! Good video...!!! new subbie!

msmonaco426: Really cute! Blended really well!!

Tan Lew: Love, love, love this video! I will be trying this technique.

Tiffany jacovy: Love it!!, im seriously about to wash/ cond. My hair and do this!! So, glad i came across this video

Kiera Brown: You did an amazing job I will be trying this asap!! Thanks

kindlet1145: I love you!!! Your video (page) is totally valuable. Thank you for this tutorial video. Truly! Bless you!!! Because I use to wear weaves, but with the credit crisis, and pay reduction, I've not been able to maintain that lifestyle of getting my hair re-done every six months and buying the packs of weave extensions, believe me I miss wearing the long hair. I will try now however to buy these clip in extensions now that I've found your page and re-do this myself. With the cainrow etc ... Once again thank you. please don't delete this video or your page. You're truly valuable to us.

Sweetangel95: i been doing my hair like this since december and i love it.

Yasmin Shiraz: I'm always hunting for new ways to fix my hair. Much gratitute for doing your videos. Peace, Yasmin

Kimberly: @Saltysweets Thanks. Someone suggested using flat twist. So that's something you can try instead of cornrowns. You can also try to use hair that gets curly when wet, so it may blend with your hair al little better.

CheyTea Latte: omg I'm sooo gonna do this! Thanx so much for this tutorial!

Priscilla Weaver: I love your technique, I think I am going to try doing a clip in next. I have been doing glue in, but you have inspired me to try the clip in next. Great video!!

tooxclusive1: Girl I just found your video. First, let me say you killed it. Loving the hair. It looks so natural.

Kimberly: Thanks. I use "Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Edge Control".... I love it!. I just put some on my fingers, then rub my fingers together to warm up the product, apply to my edges, then I tie my scarf on for about 1 hr (if I have the time)... but at least 30 minutes... then remove the scarf... and the edges are FLAT!!! :-)

Oslyn: Used your method today & I loved the results. TY

Kimberly: Awww. Thanks I have a link to where you can get the hair online, in the description box. (I have never bought from this website before, so I don't know how their customer service is). I bought mine from my local beauty supply store. I hope this helps :-)

Nicole Humphries: This was soooo helpful. Thank you

annifo: Hi Dear, what a great idea for a protective style! Would you happen to have a video of how you made the clip ins, or do you have a video that you could recommend? Thanks in advance for any info! :)

864cece: Wow I never thought about braiding my hair first! This is a great idea...super job! The only question I have is was your hair wet or dry? It looked a little damp and I wondered if you did it this way because it is easier to braid or what? Either way, this is a super way to protect the hair and it shows that you definitely did your homework!! Love this method

momowowo16: it looks so real and natural!

Allison T: I loved this!! Now I really want extensions!!!

Kimberly: Yes, I made them into clips. This hair is only sold as what I like to call "weaving hair", so if you want to do clips like I did, you will have to sew the clips on. :-)

OwnageProductionz: It looks soooo natural !

Kimberly: @nsmy96 The back of my hair was like 90% dry, but the top part that I leave out was still kinda wet (it's weird the top part of my hair stays wet longer), so when I went off camera to finish braiding, I also blow dried the top part. I do recommend waiting for your hair to be 100% dry before braiding. I've never experienced breakage when I braid.

Kimberly: Thanks :-) I made these clip-ins, but some companies sell them already with the clips on them, but I never like the texture of those. They never match my hair, so I decided to go out and find weave that looks like my hair, and make the clip-ins myself. :-) Other ladies have also asked if I have a how to make clip-in video... I think I will make a video for you guys. Thank you so much for watching :-)

T Jonez: this is a great technique, i've been wanting to make me some extentions. Thanks for sharing

Kimberly: @shegotadonk1969 When I leave all my hair out, it tends to get tangled with the extensions. Also I would have to flat iron my entire head. With this method, I avoid those tangles & I only have to flat iron just the top. :-)

Kimberly: @msBETFOREVER You're so welcome. :-) I'm so glad you bought the hair. You're gonna love it! I got the 1b as well, but I did dye one of my tracks since I dyed the top of my hair.
