Place I got hair extensions:

http://www.hairannex.com

- I don't recommend this site. The hair quality isn't that good and it sheds A LOT. I wouldn't buy from this place again.

- I got #1 Jet Black. 150 strands in 20" (0.5g) and 50 strands in 24" (0.8g). All real human hair, REMY.

- I paid approximately 200 USD for all I got. (200 strands + pliers)

I'll try to answer any questions regarding the extensions in the comment section. I hope my two cents could help those that needed some sort of personal input on extensions. Overall, I am happy with my long hair and I am going to continue to use extensions in the future.

Catalina

Hey everyone is Cali 9. He finally got my extensions. I just wanted to share with you guys my experience with my extensions and how I did it and some tips and advice that I would like to give you guys. First of all, what I did was. I use these micro loop extensions. This is a single strand and basically, what it has it. It has this plastic loop that goes through this hole and what this loop does is it actually catches your hair and pulls your hair through the plastic ring, so you could actually squeeze the ring. You keep your extensions in your hair. Basically, this doesn't require any heat. So it doesn't really damage the hair. It could actually potentially damage your hair if you tub on it too much or if you grabbed the wrong strands of hair, and you apply the extension. If you go to like a professional salon, there's still a possibility of them. Messing it up because they don't have an experience with it. So you know, do your research and wherever you go to get your extensions done. I think you have to like find someone who knows what they're doing as for me, like I said in my last video instead, I was gon na. Do it at home myself, because I was like Google so crafty to tell you the truth. It practically took me 24 hours, my sleeping time and like eating or working out time, and for you to do this at home. You a you, have to be pretty patient with yourself and be you need a lot of time and see you. You have to have some sort of like craftiness, because basically, if you're gon na do this all by yourself, you're you're not really looking at your back side and you could kind of get confused. So you have to know how to coordinate your hands with your mind and try to like picture where you're going in or how you're doing it and if you're really not good, then I don't know just don't. Don'T ruin your hair by trying to do it at home and then you know messing it up and then wasting a lot of money just go to the salon and let the professionals do it. So alright, this putting this in is pretty self-explanatory. So what you actually do, is you don't start from the very bottom of your hair? You actually leave like a layer of hair at the nape of your neck, and then you put all your hair up and then you start with one row of hair, and it really depends on what kind of hair you have. For example, I have really thick wavy hair, and I didn't know that I had this much hair until I started installing these, but basically when I was a kid, my mom has such a hard time tying my hair, because I have so much hair on my head. If you have a lot of hair a lot of the carrot like me, what you actually have to do is you have to apply these strands right next to each other, because if you kind of go like if you do that, I forget what the term is Like if you go like, if you do one strand and then leave like a space for one and then go do another strand and they leave a space like that, then you're not gon na have enough of these. So you actually cover the volume of your actual actual hair. So, what's gon na happen is you're gon na be really poofy at the top, because you have your original hair and then it's gon na come down like this and you're gon na have like a very small amount of extensions kind of like leaking out of your Original hair - and it's just not gon na blend in well. So if you have a lot of hair like me, do you actually want to have them right next to each other, and you want them going around all the way around your layer of hair and basically, what you do. Is you start for the bottom layer? You apply these all at like the same level and then you bring down a layer of hair and then you do it again and you keep doing that until you reach. Like a certain point of your hair, you don't want to bring your extensions all the way up to here, because then, like they'll kind of like pop out and people will be able to see it, it's just really gross. So you kind of want to stop like around here around the pound of your head, and you don't want to go any further because it's just gon na, like you know, it's just gon na look really weird and you're not going to you know, be very good At hiding it and then the areas that you really want to avoid is when you actually tie your hair. You know you're gon na have to be able to tie your hair, and you don't want this part with you know, filled with extensions or the lower part, showing extensions. That'S why I didn't start from the very lowest layer, and I left, like a layer, see if I kind of see this doesn't actually have an extension attached to it, because, like right here, all the hair that actually goes around the edge of you know where your Hair ends, you really don't want to put any extensions in there because you know you're not always going to have your hair down. You know you might have it up. Well, you might have it twist it up through, might have it tied back. You just don't want your extensions showing now if you're like me, you really don't care and you just kind of want everything to blend in then I guess like fine. You could probably like put your extensions like here seem like I don't have any extensions here, but if you don't like your hair, just sticking out like that, you could definitely put extensions in there, but based on all the professional videos that I like that they were Like oh, no, no don't do that because your extensions will show. I don't know, I'm gon na have half on that. I mean if you want, it then definitely go for it. It'S your freedom is your hair. Who cares alright so back to putting extensions? Is so you know you go layer by layer by layer by layer and you just try to make like a very straight line. You don't want to randomly put these pieces in. You know where ever you want to put them in because then what will start happening is you'll, be cooking on the wrong hairs and these some some of these will be like intertwined, and then it will just be like a hot mess inside your hair, and you Definitely don't want that happening, so just try to be as neat as possible and just try to go by like one layer, one line and time, and that is actually a very tedious and difficult job. So you know, if you have someone to help you out and definitely ask that person to you know, do a good job and help you out with it alright. So the second thing is: if you have like thin hair, then you don't want to put all your strands next to each other, because what's gon na happen is your extensions aren't going to be too much for your thin, the hair? So if you have thin hair or if your hair is, if you only have like a very little amount of hair, what you want to do is you kind of want to go like one after another, so you put one in and then you leave a space For one you put another one in you, leave a space put another one in leave a space, and when you put pull down another layer of your hair instead of putting the strand on top of the Strand on the bottom layer, what you do is remember that Empty space you put yours right here. This is kind of like like how you how you build bricks, so you put one here and then don't be another strand on the lower layer. And then you leave a space here and then you put one here and that's how you keep on doing it. But basically I ordered 200 fans and people said 200. It'S gon na be more than enough and you're probably have you know a lot of pieces laying around for me, 200 was not enough. I think I have to order like 50 more because I think I need like 15 or 20 more strands to actually kind of like totally blend in my hair. That'S how much hair I while I was watching all of these extension videos. I kind of noticed like two trends like first is you either have really really straight hair so, like you know like before, after pictures like after pictures, everyone almost have like really straight hair. You know like Japanese perm straight hair, and it just seemed like it blended in with the hair extensions really well, or the second case is everyone like curl their hair like crazy and pretty sure, like people really want to curl their hair if they have long hair. The thing is like: is that really realistic, like people like me who just have naturally wavy hair and who didn't get their hairs? Perm I mean, if we put extensions in it, it's just gon na look like a really hot mess, and I really didn't realize that until I put all my extensions in and then when I looked at the mirror, I was just totally horrified and I was actually Thinking of taking my extensions out because I have wavy hair and then on top of that, my hair is not layered. My hair was this blunt cut right here, so what actually happened is that you could see in the video that I shot. My hair was just sitting there and the extensions were kind of like bleeding out and it wouldn't blend. So I was like really frustrated with myself. I was like all right. You know what like these extensions, I don't think it's really worth keeping them in if it's gon na look this horrible, so you might as well just like take them out, but then I was kind of like maybe I was trying to like lay out or kind Of shed off some of the volume from the lower part, because what happens is my cut is really blunt cut. I have no layers and then on top of that, I'm actually very wavy, so the hair actually curls at the end and then it just gets poofy, and then I have more volume at the end. So basically, it's just like a heavy volume of hair right here and then extensions kind of bleeding out. So what I actually did was with the extensions and I started thinning out the end of my hair and I was just trying to see how it actually blends in with the hair. So I started with this half and then this half I left and then I took a video and then you can see like the obvious difference of how the hair blends in and how the hair can't really blend in. So it really depends on what your original hair cut type is. I mean, if you're, personally being you don't really like wearing your hair or thinning out your hair, that I really wouldn't recommend putting any extensions in, because you're gon na have like a result like me and then you're, probably gon na, be forced to a take. Your extensions out or be have to like trim your hair, so it blends in well with extensions. So that was kind of like my problem and you can kind of see that it's not totally blended in because see like you can kind of see where, like the original hair ends, it's probably because I didn't put that much effort into this side. This side blends in really well with this side, and I really - and I just need a couple more strands in here because some you know some parts are empty. So if you have like a haircut like my previous haircut, like my original haircut, then you might want to get your hair learned out before you put your extensions in the second thing is I was googling bad, hair extensions and then people were like show examples of Britney Spears at Lindsay Lohan the reason why they called it her bad hair extension is because she didn't put any products in her hair and it was just kind of like a messy look like she walked out of her house, and the reality is unless you're gon Na curl, your hair, like Kim Kardashian everyday or unless you're gon na strain out your hair every day, your extensions are bound to look messy and that's the reality. You can't just look at salon pictures like before-and-after, because I mean who ever went to salon and got their hair done when they walk into someone their hair is gon. Na look perfect. I mean that's kind of like a given, but you shouldn't be tricked that your hair is always a little bit perfect like that, unless you get it professionally permed and you know you have a like permanent, like that, if you're like me and you don't have your Hair permed or whatnot, then you're gon na have to go through this, like really high maintenance routine, because you're gon na hey either have to straighten your hair everyday or be curl it every day. Just so it looks you know well maintained, or it looks blended in if you're kind of lazy like me and you don't like your hair or curling your hair. So much and you just kind of like tying your hair up, then you might want to you know, ask yourself if you really want to do hair extensions, because it's gon na require a lot of high maintenance stuff and that's what I'm kind of worried about, because Usually, what I do is I wash my hair and go to sleep and I wake up. I have this like huge bent, hair and all I do is I actually just kind of like twirl it up and I forget about it all day long. So you know, that's gon na, be the hard part for me taking care of the hair and maintaining it. So it looks well blended in that was about it on my tape, with extensions and oh and a lot of people kind of complain about how much it hurts when you sleep to be honest, the first night actually kind of hurt. Second night, I was kind of okay, like the side was okay, but then this side kind of you know was tugging and it wasn't a very pleasant feeling. But you know tonight's, like the third night and right now, it's actually five o'clock in the morning and I actually woke up that one o'clock and I'm doing this. But basically it doesn't hurt after a couple of days and if you're like me and you could tolerate pain with really well, then you know it doesn't really hurt. Oh one more tip before I finished this video when you, when you're actually doing it at home, just try being really careful not to pull on the wrong hair. So, for example, when you're grabbing a small strand to do your hair, it's trial and error, but you're, probably gon na notice that you're not gon na using damaged hair for one strand, it's gon na, be either two thirds of what the strand actually has so, for Example, two thirds of this or half of this amount. That'S like a really small amount when you actually gather your hair to put in the loop. What I like to do is I kind of twist it before I put it into the loop, because that way, you know you don't get like loose strands or you don't get like random strands coming in and you know you don't want like something weird going on. I actually twisted a bit and then I put it through the loop and then I take out the loop, and that way the hair actually goes into the plastic bowl. And then I use a plier and I just squeeze it really hard. And when you use the plier, you don't want to make the extension go like this like. If this is the back of your hair - and you don't want the extension going like this, so you actually want it lying down straight like this, and then you want to clip it right here. Just so like it goes down, because if everything is sticking up like this, you know the back of your head is actually going to get really poofy. Look all right. So good luck to those who are actually gon na do it at home. I'M actually really happy with the results, and I'm really happy that I have longer hair alright. So I hope you guys enjoy this video and if you guys have any questions, you could definitely leave them in the comment section below yeah I'll see you guys in my next video bye,

Creative Mess: These look the most natural well installed extensions I have seen on YouTube and I literally looked at every video!!!!! Subbing!!

Gina Sparks: This is the most informative and realistic tutorial I've seen. Thank you!!

estahh: I work at a beauty supply store and for someone who did it just by feel, you did a really really really good job!! :) better than some of my customers who come in with their hair done by "professionals" lol

MyLuxury1st Hair, Pigments, and Apparel: This was very informative and helpful for people looking for more information, thanks!

natties72: I love your blouse, earrings & bracelet!!!

vkgof: Btw, Catalina, I love how you're the model on your shopping website! =) You look gorgeous as usual and super fit :). Keep up the great work.

iluvcandy56: Yeah, I agree with you about the way of doing it with thin hair. When I had extensions done a long time ago, the woman put them close together and it didn't look natural on my head. And the price was definitely not worth it. lol

LinaBina: Ugh I could never do that haha, you've got some patience! It looks really good!

TheBeautyKitten: they look great! i should be getting mine soon.. so excited.

Nicole Jan: youre hair looks great .....you did an amazing job

cl2425: @fallingoutofdreams I think no matter how well you blend it, there will be some difference between your real hair and the extensions - but if bleaching is involved, definitely go with extensions! Bleaching is waayyy too harsh on the hair

Krissy’s Way: omg you look so gorgeous Catalina! Love love your long hair. But I still like your short hair. I cant just decide which one looks the best :)

cl2425: @onyxhikari Good question! I was planning to layer the extensions with the shorter ones on top, but since I didn't have the 18" ones I originally ordered (they were out of 18 and sent me 20 instead), I put the 20s under and the 24 on the higher parts. It turns out to make the hair all about the same length.

cl2425: @pepperedtrees You wash it like how you would wash your own hair, except with a bit more care. I usually try to reach every part of my head before rinsing out the shampoo. I also try to rinse out the residue completely so it won't be trapped in my hair and get gross. The plastics seem to hold on very well, but I wouldn't recommend tugging on them when you're brushing your hair.

cl2425: @sarahllin clip ins are temporary extensions where you can take them out whenever you want to. These, you can live with them in your hair for a couple of weeks ~ months (depends on how you take care of them and how long you want them in).

Txy: Ahhh!! <3 a new video <3 love your hair.

kawaiikaox3: this video was superrrrr helpful! thanks!

Justin Morgan: Wear braids at night to keep them from tangling and it will cause the straight extensions so become a little more wavy and match the texture more.

AspReads: I've got a mohawk but still find this video fascinating :P Hope the new venture goes well, love the website :D x

bbtpink: Hiya! What are you wearing on your nails? Looks gorgeous!

easyogini: can u do a tutorial for the make up u r wearing please? Thank you~! love ur videos

caligurl911able: I think it looks nice, you should do more hair vid. I wanna see your point of view on dying or bleaching hair.

verren: very nice and thorough! I like it.

WonderfulsVIP: What does "thinning out" your hair mean?

cl2425: @GetLikeLacey I think that requires some research. You have to figure out what you want and how others review the seller. There's places that only sell certain lengths or colors, so you have to do the research based on what you are looking to buy

pequenise1: Love your long hair, you're even more beautiful, Catalina! =) Definitely worth it! Don't know why, when you said "Yaay" (cute!), I thought u looked like Lee Min Jung... both of you are very pretty!

Tara Jean: When you had your hair cut, I wasn't used to seeing you with short hair. Then when I was used to seeing you with short hair, you put in extensions. Now I'm not used to seeing you with long hair. Either way, you look lovely with both short and long hair.

MrPepperminto: you look gorgeous as always!^^

cl2425: @ZackyTay Extensions are exactly like your real hair. If you don't take care of them they will tangle and get mushed exactly like our real hair. You comb your hair (not from the roots, but a little below that) gently with a brush, you could leave some leave in conditioner in your extensions and you can try not to apply too much heat or hair dye to it to keep it healthy (if you're going to dye it, that is).

voguelicious: @WonderfulsVIP it means that she layered her hair in order for it to blend in with her extensions. Like she thinned out her hair so you can't tell where her hair ended and where the extensions began.

Kelly Johnson: aemilie hair has amazing hair! but they don't have this particular method, but they have similar ones

cookiesososo: Cat... your skin really looks much better than be4!!! im so interesting in that product now. hope one day i can order it from your web : )

Gold Bambi: wooooow *____* ... Looks so gooood!!!

cl2425: @usagiipyon haha, thanks for the tips! I'm going to try it tonight!

cl2425: @ohmyfeilunhai Yeah, good suggestion! I don't have the pains anymore, but it will definitely help those out there who are suffering from the pain :'(

Whitney C-O: Instead of layering your real hair to blend with the extensions layer the extensions to blend with your hair

cl2425: @emmishbells100 wow that's amazing! I should do a mohawk too before I grow too old for it :p

Claire Lightwood: @cl2425 thanks a lot ur video is very helpful :D i was thinking of extension since my hair grows so slow ! u can do so much more with longer hair !

D S: Luvvv it:)

Melissa Lin: Have you ever tried clip-on extensions?

cl2425: @oyeparcero I used Feria's Leather Black to get the jet black color. In real life, it looks a tad bit artificial, but it falls very close to the jet black color of the extensions!

Pablo Jan: Sooo good video! Love You :*

cl2425: @ph0eix not really, it's exactly like real hair. I think the weight grows on you, but I'm sure the head will feel a lot lighter once you remove the extensions!

cl2425: @tarajeanbean haha.. I get bored easily, so I can't leave my hair alone :p I'll probably have these extensions out soon and go crazy with another style (I'm really hoping I don't though!)

Do It Like Doli: Oops, I would recommend getting your hair blended and layered AFTER you put your extensions in. Not before.

Whitney Hodge: Really glad I watched this!

cl2425: @BerrySmallBox haha, I'll try to include more from now on. I'm a visual learner too ;)

Jejie.M: I also have natural wavy hairs like yours. Although I like straight hair but I don't straighten my hair.

Dena Re: how you blend your natural hair with the extensions? I have the same problem with my extensions I'm sorry I don't speak english very well and this part of the video I don't understand very well :/ you can explain me that? thanks

Charline Belle hair: Totally love you how to

Cho U Iek: where did u get those extensions?

Isabelle Hong: What's the different btw this and clip in extensions ?

onyxhikari: Weird question, did you put the longer strands on top or bottom?

Happy Anh: can u do a review on your skinfood products please ?

Elle Mil: omgosh I NEED to know what hair straightener you use! Please reply!

Krissy’s Way: hi catalina! I miss your makeup tutorial :(

jeje2419: You are so beautiful Catalina!

moonsunnstarz: i dont know if this is even relevant now but, if your still wearing the extensions and having the same problem you could llayer the extensions and that helps blend aswel thats what i do, and also when you sleep braid it (one on each side)

cl2425: @natties72 thank you! links are in the info box ;)

Shut the hell your mouth: WOOHOO :D UR AWESOME :D

cl2425: @vkgof haha.. thanks. until the budget allows the site to hire other models, I'm slaving away for free :p

cl2425: @JS2Ocosmetology we're on the same page. I desire straight hair, but feel conflicted to straighten it :p I totally feel you!

heimoodworld: i would like to ask what do you think about Plastic surgery?

1raychel4: how do i do the sides of my head?

Andissue Garfield: nice one, you have a review of your black hair extension when you're wearing black shirt. Really helpful

Itsyagirl: since you don't recommend that site where else would you get your hair extensions?

theyleftusallbehind: how'd you thin out your hair? please respond, i'm desperate! :(

cl2425: @kawaiikaox3 thanks for watching :D

easyogini: Make up tutorial for your make up in this video please=~~~!

xstarrynight1: I guess you could describe the lack of blending a really bad asian mullet haircut.. :P I think you look pretty with short or long hair~~~ :)

Cheri Valerio: How many ounces of hair u need ??

ph0eix: is it heavy for your head?

cl2425: @mel26is2sa88 no I haven't :p I always wanted permanent (or semi-) instead of temporary extensions.

Do It Like Doli: I would recommend NOT getting your hair layered before you instusll

cl2425: @MANZ0810 I got them from a site called hairannex. I don't really recommend them tho... not the best quality.

Claire Lightwood: but do u wash ur hair with ur extension will anything bad happen to it ? for example getting it tangled or frizzy . how do u care for ur extension ? how long does it usually last ? :D pls ans !

verren: also maybe try tying it up in a headscarf? it might hurt less.

HaiImClarakins: Haha your subscribe button intimidates me! All I can reply with is "Sorry I've already subscribed!" Fierce ;) <3

glowingstarlights: @cl2425 ohh haha, i wish i can haf weird sleeping cycles at critical midterm/papers/finals time for uni.. =)

cl2425: @darkempriss thanks for the recommendation!

cl2425: @playinabox Yup, I am :p I basically cheated 2 years to get this length hehe

cl2425: @vuldafer yup! they are all from prettydna :D

cl2425: @glowingstarlights lol no, not really.. I just had a weird sleeping cycle and wanted to film a tut, and then after that I was filming this video :p

Chantelle: how did it take you 24 hours .. it took me 4 hours myself

Jolly jiggles: If u have naturally thick beautiful hair why would you put in extensions? Kinda stupid since extensions cause alopecia over time.

cl2425: @mich1234567890 I use vidal sassoon one I bought like 5-6 years ago.

cl2425: @estahh oye, haha.. thanks so much! I'm flattered! :p

ND: I just noticed you have a peferct v-shaped face :O

glowingstarlights: are you nocturnal? o_O

Leniyems Victorero: A lot of people think they know better than a license hair stylist blah blah blah blah blah

kaykay807: You face is so white.. omg . o.o is it just the lightin?

AspReads: @cl2425 Well I'm 24, maybe Im already too old for it, but oh well XD

itsxJaszy: you look like an asian hillary duff !!

cl2425: @KotoAnii Hello there LOL I'm temporarily here (longer than I thought, though)

RainyTaay3: And here's some advice for you: Get to your point, you keep on talking on and on. Your going to lose a lot of viewers and the first one is going to be me -___-

Angela Kuo: hot ;D HAHA

monica walus:

deanna meredith: get to the point... this is soooo f@%*ing boring

Jessie Albarado: You talk to much boring
