Dyeing Human Hair Extensions Silver Or Gray

As an actor, I have been lucky to learn a few tricks from the pros in the business. I have had several hairstylists use human hair extensions that matched my color, so naturally I asked how they did it!

I don't know about you, but I love hair extensions. I love wigs. I love toppers, but mostly I love hair extensions and for most of my life, having really thin wimpy hair that won't grow any longer than this hair extensions have been a big part of my life, and I've spent a lot of money on them. One of the things that I've learned since going gray is that it's really hard to find hair extensions in this great color. I got a beautiful set of gorgeous hair extensions from irresistible me. They sent these to me for free and they are just stunning just look at how beautiful these are. They feel so soft and thick, but there's just one problem: that's not my hair color! No, that is not my air color, so we're gon na need to make these match this. Let'S get to it. Shall we most extension hair will really absorb a lot of color, so you definitely want to make sure that it's wet completely saturated. It'S a good idea to shampoo it. First, I tried shampooing with just a little bit of finola, no yellow shampoo, to see how much that would cool down the hair and it did a pretty good job. So if you were a blonde - and you just wanted an icy tone, that would be great, but it didn't quite get it silver. I really liked the tone that I was getting from the finola. However, it really seemed to grab purpley on the ends and not so much because of that unevenness of distribution of the color. I decided to try another tact, so I used overtone conditioner and I mixed it well with water. So it was just a little of the overtone, conditioner in a big bowl of water, and then I kept plunging the hair extensions into the water until they reached the desired shade. I felt that sob them were still a little too yellow a little too blonde. So I took some out and left them to dry, and then I took the rest and I put them back in with another batch of overtone, conditioner and a little less water and continued to plunge them a few times until they were the right shade. The color looked good when it was wet and it looked good when I dried them, but once I put them on, I could see that there's still a little bit blonde, but it's super easy. So I'm gon na go back and give them another plunge. So you'll be seeing them a little more silvery next time, I'm wearing them. I love you bunches. I hope you have an awesome rest of your day and I will talk to you very soon. You

E M: That looks really good! I love how you make gray look so amazing. I let mine all grow out because of your videos. I love how free I feel now that I'm not always tripping about my roots. ❤

Jennilove: Wow you look stunning! I’m convinced I need to try extensions now:) I’m going to pick some up with your discount code! Thank you❤️ Edit: I bought them

Trish: You look amazing with those extensions in! Ice been using overtone on my own hair for over a year. A good trick if you don't want full strength color saturation is to mix the overtone with some sulfate free conditioner. Put it on the hair like a mask, let sit for a bit and rinse.

Andrea H: I have never worn extensions, but it is still really fascinating seeing how you customize them to fit your needs.

C CORMIER: Your nail color is fabulous! Love that green! And the hair extensions are gorgeous on you.

Latoya Evans: Learning SO MUCH from you. Thank you for sharing!

Naioma: I loved how the extensions look! Wow you look incredibly young. Bravo! Very nice

Lynn Rose: Great job. They look so nice.

Wanda Pease: You are gorgeous, both outside and inside. You give me hope I can get to your beautiful shade of Silver White before it grows out to dull grey. Love the Target commercial! They should do them as a series!

Stephen Livings: That was exciting. Thanks, Monique. #ILoveMoniqueParent

Carmen Shenk: I bought a wig after watching one of your videos. I went to a gala wearing it and a lady told me how much she wanted hair like mine and I came *this close* to whipping that thing off my head and handing it to her. LOL! Gosh, that was fun. Might need to try these extensions. I’m pretty sure I could dye them in my purples and pinks for a fun and very me look. Very tempting! This is “dress up” for adults. I guess I’m especially enjoying it after growing up Mennonite where all this stuff was taboo. Love that you made them work for you!

Sharon Byrd: I think your natural hair is beautiful.

Joanne Cosmo: I love them on you! You look Gorgeous! You look 25! I want to know where to buy the overtone the color is beautiful on you! Thank you for the Video Monique. Love the Extension s.

Deb5506: Monique, have you ever used overtone on your own hair?

Melinda Vermes: U always do great job!

Meera: She looks beautiful as always.

Robin L: Nice look! ❤️

Stephen Livings: You look beautiful, Monique.

D D: My hair is brown and I have never worn extensions in my life, but here I am.

Good Luck: Doesn't Overtone work best on prelightened hair? I think it's a colored conditioner that does not have bleach in it.

Lisa Joy: I’m so frustrated with the entire wig industry!! WOMEN NEED realistic salt and pepper greys not just the white white and old lady grey color- we need choices!!! Variety

Watching to Learn: Yes, those look fun!

Trent Miles: You look beautiful and happy.

Luv2luvleah: Which color "overtone conditioner" did you use? They have purples, blues, and silver????

kellie: What was the water temperature like to get the desired final color tone?

mbr715: yaayyy, tiny hair club..... !

Dan63190: Is it human hair ?

Ant Squirly: Close but too obvious.
