Hello guys welcome back to house of hair uk if you're new to this channel don't forget to subscribe on this channel. We show you all things, hair extensions and we don't know some of the work that we do inside our west, london salon. So in today's video i am going to be doing long, taping, hair extensions, install it's not a service that we offer in our salon, and i wanted to try it out and at the same time train two members of my staff in these hair extensions. So, like i said, we do not offer it in our salon, but i wanted to film this install and then get some feedback from the client to see if she likes the hair extensions and if she does, then we're going to start offering them. So i first saw long tape in hair extensions on a instagram page for from a stylist who's based in the us, and i knew that i wanted to try them um. A lot of people request tapes in our salon and we don't tend to put tapes as a service. We don't actually supply tapes in our salon, but we will install them for you and reason being is because i find that if people are not consistent with having their tapes removed, then it can sometimes pull on your hair. So i wanted to try because they're very small tapes and normal installs. I wanted to try these long tapes to see if they'd be a bit safer on the hair and much easier to maintain. So here we're just doing our normal section and we've gone around the client's head, how we would normally frame it now. I actually think, when installing long tapes that you possibly don't want to go in a round woods direction, you want to just do them in straight lines, i'm a little bit old when it comes to tapes, and i actually like to use heat to seal the tapes Onto the hair, it just makes the actual glue or the actual tape a little bit more tacky. So here you can see that amiga, just measured out the amount that we needed for the back of the head, and what i quickly realized is that these tapes cannot be installed, like other tapes, where you put it on the edge of your comb and you push It onto the client's hair and then you kind of push the actual client's hair into the bottom layer of tapes. They can't really be done like that. You need the client to hold it or you need someone to hold it in place and then take the hair that you want and stick that to the actual tape. I don't know if that makes sense, but when i put this first one and i had it on the end of my comb, i had to fiddle around with it a lot. It just wouldn't stay in place and it wouldn't catch the client's hair. So you need to hold it firmly in place. Have someone else hold it firmly in place and then take bits of hair and stick it to it? I'Ll show you in a moment so here you can see that i sectioned her hair in kind of a a very wide u-shape or like a semi-circle. I don't know what you want to call it, but i've done it around the leave-out that i've kept out, and actually that was a bit of a mistake. So i've got the client to hold it um. I peeled off the actual tape so she's holding it in place with the tape cover still on it. Um i've got rid of that tape and then i've just taken tiny little bits of hair from below so not above and adjusted the tape. And then i started to press it on there. I was using the back of the comb initially, but it just wasn't catching enough. So then, i started using the back of my hand, make sure if you're going to use the back of your hand that you wash your hand and use some rubbing alcohol on your hand. Because you don't want the oil from your hand to transfer onto the tape and then it won't last as long so here you can see i'm taking really small amounts but thick enough that it's not going to put tension on her hair and it's not going to Irritate so once that's on, i then put the top layer on. I would normally edit bits like that out, but did you see that hair, just it wouldn't catch on it, and i used a very small amount of her hair but for some reason it just wouldn't catch when the second tape goes on and it sandwiches it actually Holds quite well but that first one, oh, it was so annoying and this kind didn't have any oil or any products in her hair, but it just wouldn't catch. So you have to be careful and you have to make sure you're sealing it down with the heat. Now that i feel like i've got the hang of it, i've just bought over both stylists who are going to be offering me service in the salon. If we offer it in the salon and now i'm just showing them and getting them to kind of practice and learn how to do it so again, we've measured how much it needs for the next row and then we're testing out whether clips can hold it in Place just in case you're a lone stylist and you don't have any assistant or anyone with you. Sometimes our stylist will have to do installs on their own, and actually the clips are not ideal. You want to be able to keep some tension in it. You see how i've had to come in and help her and pull it a little bit to keep some tension, so i would not recommend using clips to hold it in place. I would ask either the client to do it, which i know is a little bit annoying or i would if you have the ability to ask an assistant or someone to hold it firmly in place for you and then you then start pushing the client's hair into The actual tape, if you know how i work, whether you've seen my videos or had your hair done in the salon by any of the stylist, then you know that we will halfway through or towards the end. We will just check that the install is kind of working okay. So that's what we just done there, we kind of lifted up all of the hair to make sure that all of the tapes were covered around the parameter, and then we put all of her hair down so that we could see how much volume it was created And if we needed to add how much more tapes really so for this lady, she ended up using about 220 grams, so her hair was actually quite big. So we used two bundles of the long tapes and then luckily, we had some yaki textured tapes in the salon that were kind of the traditional size, and so we put those around the side of her head as well, which actually, i think, was a little bit Nicer because if you have really long tapes around the side, it's going to be more difficult for you to flip your parting back and forth and have that versatile center and side parting. So i would either use scissors and do like a razor cut style or i would point cut. I never do a straight cut when it comes to hair extensions, because i, like the ends to be slightly thinner and look a little bit more natural. So here you can see i'm just using one of our razors and i'm just cutting out the kind of like wispy ends and then i'm going in and point cutting to neaten that up a little. So i find with these long tapes. I'Ve only ever found one bender, which is a vendor that i use. Who does these long tapes and what i find is the tape section is just a little bit too shiny. I don't know if you can see it there, so, if you're able to come across or you're trying to source long tapes, make sure that the actual tape part is not too shiny. Otherwise, you run the risk of it showing through your client's hair, and that is not cute. So another thing you'll learn about me is i don't like to overdo it with heat. So, as you saw before, we really lightly pressed out her hair, we didn't go overboard with like really small sections, because i knew that i was gon na be curling, her hair for the style that we both want. Um and i used hot tools and these colors they're, actually quite hot, so we lightly straightened it and now i'm going in and curling it and i'm curling away from her face, because i just feel like it's a little bit more flattering and um pin curl in It so that the curls stay in it's yaki, textured hair and the curls do not hold as well as they do with silky straight hair, so yaki, texture, hair, the curls don't hold as well and then also kinky straight texture. The curls definitely need to be pinned because they will not last as long obsessed with this hot tools. Curler look at these curls they're, so cute. She was the best hair model. Ever her hair blend seamlessly with yucky textured hair, the color was perfect. We didn't have to custom color it. It just looked absolutely amazing. I'M gon na get some feedback from this lovely lady see how she feels about long tape, hair extensions. If she loves them and they don't damage her hair in any way, then we're definitely going to start offering it to customers guys. This is our final. Look. Monica Tucker: The blend and final look was beautiful! I tested those out in my salon thinking they were like the old ones from back in the day that my Caucasian clients use to get, they are NOT! I have 2 different vendors for them & they both are wide and shiny. I don’t care for them and decided not to add those as a service. I found that they were very difficult to remove and wash day was horrible! I would be interested in seeing a maintenance and removal video ☺️. I find that they are not as flexible as the smaller tapes.

deborah1mc: Your client had beautiful hair, and the stylist took it to a another level of beauty...fantastic ❤

Fay Griffiths: Shorter pieces allow for more versatility and styling options. Also easier to hide rather then long strips from ear to ear it should have been shorter strips along one row

Imani Kimm: Her hair has a lot of product in it that's why it's hard to stick. You're supposed to use tape-ins on hair that's essentially oil free because the tape-ins will slip out quickly. Great install!

M Turner: Love the look, very natural looking

madebyveeKosmetics: You did it right and thanks for sharing more details on the long tape ins.

M. Bey: She was so beautiful! And her hair turned out awesome.

Ma'at Dei: I think if the tape was a bit stronger that would stop the issue that you are having with it staying put.

Second skin Fillers: Hey I love ur work ! What was wondering what is you favorite relaxer for color treated curly hair for Caucasian hair and ethnic.?

Amori: I’ve been looking to order long tape ins but no one sells them or maybe there another name that these types of tape ins are called? Please share where this hair is from ❤️

CarlottasCorner: How long did she keep them in her hair?

Oneda Hellems: Yes that makes more sense for our hair

Viveca White: Loved the video but didn't like how the wefts were misbehaving!

Tammy Pham: Question: how do you remove these? I glue in my hair extensions and removing them is terrible. I lose so much hair. Very curious to try tape ins if they are easier to remove.

Yvania: Where are the extensions from?

Chyna Bozeman: What site did u get these from

Tammy Pham: Your client is gorgeous.

MONICA JONES: Enjoyed Content Sending ❤️ From the ❤️❤️

An Adorable Wombat: Women in the UK are doing it right! I wish more American black women would wear at least weaves again. So tired of these tired lace fronts lol

Sassy Moi: I do not like those shiny long tape-ins. You can definitely see the wefts and your client has thick beautiful hair. They will not work on someone with thinner shorter hair. They were more difficult to install too. Her hair is gorgeous tho.

Chef T Wil: Omg I’m first !!! I’m not prepared lol! Ok well I guess I can ask a question. Do you thing dry shampoo will take away the shine of the tape? I want to try tape-ins and I wondered if I could use that to his the shine!
