Hello, my fellow hair diyers. This is shannon blake and i'm going to be teaching you how to make your hair look like this today. You'Ve probably seen it all over instagram, it is the nbr natural beaded rose, hair extension habit method technique. So you probably are wondering how the these instagram, ladies, have this magical thick long hair. So i'm going to show you so this is my hair without extensions compared to the natural beaded row, habit, method, extensions and you can see that um. I just added thickness and fullness to my ends and just my overall hair um. So normally people are spending like thousands and thousands of dollars to get this method done. I have been quoted by three different stylists that it would cost 3 000 dollar hairs to do it, which is insane. So i want to show you guys how i managed to pull this off without spending three grand 170 bucks. All together is what i spent so yay. I'M super excited to show you guys this. I used this hair babonia. Curls 16 inch is about 140 um, they have clips, but you take the clips off and then the boheme deep wave is the more expensive hand tied here that comes with six rows, but i'm not going to be using that kind. I actually didn't want to add length, so i just did the cheaper method so yeah. This is what it looks like and i'm going to teach you how to do it. Let'S get started first you're going to need string. I like to do light colored string, because my extensions are light. If you have dark extensions, i would do dark and you're going to need clips lots of these kinds of clips, whatever they're called you're, also going to need beads. I use dark beads because my roots are dark and i don't plan on dyeing them and these clamper thingies, which smash the beads to your head. You need these c hook needles and a crochet hook, because it's going to make your life easier scissors, obviously don't cut your hair and yeah. So if you're doing the clip extension method, you're going to start by taking the clips off of the actual extensions. So, as you can see, they're sewed on so all you're going to do is you're going to cut those strings off of the extensions. If you are doing it, this way, if you're not and you're using the more expensive hair, feel free to skip this entire portion of the video. But i'm just going to show you guys exactly what i did and how i did it um to achieve the like. Thicker line-y hair. Alright, so here we go as you can see, i am snipping off those little strings and you're just going to do this to every single hair extension that you're going to be using and once you've finished, and you have all of your hair extensions ready. You can start lining them up. I like to clip mine all together um. These were the rows that i did so. I did two layers in each row that i put on my head. I have really thick hair, so you don't technically need that much. If you have thinner hair and i'm using the c needle to sew these two sections together, because i don't want to have four different rows on my head, i want to have two rows of extensions, so i'm just tying a knot making sure it's really tight at The beginning and then i'm going to sew all the way through the extension to the end and tie a knot on the end and make sure that it feels secure you're, also going to be retying it onto your actual head um to another piece of string. I'Ll show you guys later, but so like i don't go super crazy right here. I leave about like a half inch between each spot, where i'm sewing because you're going to be sewing it again later so it'll be like double the strength. So anyways. That'S the end. It'S definitely not perfect, i'm not one to like make things perfect. So if you want a perfectly sewn video, this is not for you. So the first thing you're going to do is you're going to part your hair into a u-shape um, exactly how you want it to lay on your head. I didn't take much time to do this. All you know some people might want to be a little bit more specific, but i kind of like not a perfect line because it makes it less noticeable. I feel like when you're flipping your hair around then i measure it and i measure where my start point is going to be and where my end point is going to be okay. So before we jump into everything, i wanted to show you what it's going to. Look like so you can see the goal that you're trying to achieve, and also using a mirror, is very helpful. So um a lot of stylists do the beads closer together. I did three fingers with a part for every bead, because i wanted less beads in my hair. Okay, so now you're going to want to get about four to five arms lengths worth of string and fold. It in half tie a knot to the bead on one side and tie a knot on the opposite side of the string. Then get your crochet hook, put the bead on it and take your separated piece of hair. The easiest way i found to do it then twist the piece of hair and fold it into the crochet hook and then with the bead on the crochet hook, and the string is tied to it. You'Re going to pull the piece of hair through the bead. All the way to the very top of your head and then once you have the bead, where you want it, you can do the fifth step, which is take the clamper and clamp the bead in a downward motion not too close to your head, but also not Too far away from your head, i have a sensitive head, so i like to keep it a little bit looser because i, if you have a sensitive head, your head will get really sore if it's too tight, so just be cautious um. If you don't have a sensitive head, then you could go tighter, and so now you can see that i'm going to separate the string from the hair, i'm going to measure three fingers widths apart. You can do them closer if you want it didn't really make that big of a difference for me. So this is an example of how i continue the piece of string onto the next bead. So i've already done a couple, but i wanted to like film it. So that you could see that i'm repeating all of those same exact steps that i just showed you steps one through six, so you're just going to essentially do the exact same thing and i'll just let you guys watch this phantom. So now i'm going to take the extension piece and measure it just to make sure it matches with my starting and ending bead. And then i'm going to clip the extension to my head so that while i'm sewing it stays in place and then you're going to start the sewing process so grab the c needle and take about eight arms length worth of string and do the same thing tie A knot on to the needle and tie knot onto the end and i double the string for extra strength. The second step is going to push the needle, through the beginning of the extension in an upward motion, making sure that you hook the needle under that piece of string that is attached in between the beads and then you're going to tie a knot so that it Is tightly in place right in the beginning, and i usually do that a few times just extra on the beginning, because it seems like it can get looser right there and then the third step is just to continue to sew the extension onto your head. So you're really just repeating step two over and over and over so, except without tying the knot. So i'll, like tie knots randomly just to help it be secure like halfway through i'll, tie a couple knots um, but i'm just really sewing it on i'm pushing the needle through making sure that the pointy part of the needle is hooking onto that string. That'S in between the beads and then just going back around going back around and i just keep doing that over and over and over and i'm going about, i'm going pretty close to where i sew initially, i'm keeping it close because i just want it to be Secure - and i don't want it to fall off my head for any reason so as you can see, it's getting tighter and the extension is becoming attached to my head. You guys this is crazy. Um. I would suggest having two mirrors, so you have like a mirror in front of you and a mirror behind you. I didn't have that. I was just using the camera behind me um. I don't suggest that it makes it really challenging. Also, this isn't gon na be perfect, like i said so, bear with me, but you know for doing this without being able to see, i feel like i did a pretty damn good job so, like you can see in the middle, i tied a knot and if You really care about like those tiny little excess strings, you can just cut them off. That'S just because i like tied four knots right in the middle um, but it's up to you and also you don't even have to tighten knots. You could just continue sewing around the extension, so the rest of this clip is just gon na, be me, sewing it and yeah i'll. Let you guys watch it and i'm just taking the clips off of the extension as i get closer to the clip, i'm also being wary not to sew into my actual hair and just stay only on the string, that's in between the beads, because if you get Your hair, it can pull and tug and be super uncomfortable, and you can see that excess string on the end of the extension and i'm actually just going to snip that off because you don't need it and the extension is tied to your head. And so my camera died right at the end, so i couldn't catch me sewing the very end of the extension onto the string um. But it's super easy. You just cut it off cut the excess string off, tie the knot and so yeah. This is what it looks like once it is attached to the head. Um, you can see you have to like pretty much lift up your entire hair to be able to see it and when you set it down, you can't even tell and they're super lightweight. So this is what it looks like with everything in. If you like this video hit that like button and subscribe, i hope it helps you on your hair extension diy journey um. I spent a lot of time figuring out how to do this method. There'S not a lot of resources out there. It'S almost like it's this weird secret um, but i love it. You can see how much thicker it makes my hair and how much fuller it makes it at the ends. So here are some pictures of me with the nbr habit method. Extensions in you can tell my hair is a lot bigger at the ends and fuller and yeah thanks. So much for watching. Follow me on instagram, i'm also a musician. You can stream my music on all music platforms under shannon blake and i love you guys. Let me know if you have any questions in the comments. Much love y'all, you

clipinqueen: You did a great job! So glad to see fellow DIY-ers doing this method in their hair. I do the sew-in method as well, but do the simpler one of just putting the beads in without connecting string. It holds very well. Your hair looks great and you are right; you save soooo much money doing this yourself. I would just caution others who want to try this to make sure their sections are clean and no hairs are getting caught. Can lead to a lot of breakage. Thanks for sharing.

Krayon Stratos: Shanin I love your diy! I keep coming back to this. Did you use silicone or non silicone lined beads? My hair is thick and coarse and I'm not sure which one to use.I'm having a very hard time finding a good one to use on Amazon too
