☆This is probably my most requested video, so I FINALLY did an updated tutorial of how I sew in my hair extensions. I left my hair out this time because I wanted a sleek and straight look (if you've been here a while you know I LOVE that style!).

You can definitely sew on a closure piece if you don't want to leave any hair out. Grace Hair sent me a closure so I'll be making a wig ASAP. Anyway, I tried to make this tut as detailed as possible so you can practice doing your own hair and do great on the first try. My goal is to inspire you to create, so let me know how I did! I always welcome your feedback. XOXO Jodi

Thanks to Grace Hair Products for supplying the hair and sponsoring this video so I can recommend quality and affordable hair. I only recommend products that I enjoy; all opinions are my own.

Hey guys welcome back to the channel, it's Jodi, so of course, today's video I'm going to show you how to do a so in weave, and I actually did this all on myself. So this should be fun. Make sure you guys subscribe if you haven't already, so you don't miss out on any uploads, so this video was highly requested for like a long time right. So I was oh okay, I'm gon na do a so in like for two reasons. I miss it kind of I kind of Miss having a style that I can like sleep in and just get up and go. So that's why I decided to do a sew-in and then the second reason I wanted to just get it out the way cuz. I'M going on like a newly like healthy hair journey to like get my hair thicker, my natural hair plus. This is an Aliexpress type of hair tutorial and I haven't used Aliexpress in a while either I've had good and bad experiences and I'm just sick of it. So I decided to just give it a break. However, do y'all see this hair? I haven't had this quality hair from Aliexpress in a little while - and this is from grace hair from Aliexpress and I'm wearing a 16 inch 18 inch 20 inch and 22 inch. So I sold the hair in and I have leave out so I'm going to give you guys, like a quick breakdown, slash review of the hair, because I did wear this for a couple weeks. I didn't want to come on here and show you guys a tutorial without actually trying out the hair, especially since I have it sewn in and you can really test the hairs quality if it's actually sewn in your hair, and you have to sleep with it and Maintain it every day, so basically, this hair is like extremely soft. It'S a is it a Brazilian straight? I think it is so it does get bone straight and I did curl this hair yesterday. So it holds a curl just got like a body wave, it does hold a curl for a really long time, and this is a hair I had left over and I did try to bleach it. It does bleach. Okay. I think this is like five minutes of lifting and that's not extremely fast, but it's good. So if you wanted to do like a honey blonde or kind of like ombre summer hair, I think this would be good now, as far as like tangling and shedding this hair, barely barely barely barely barely tangles, like only one part of it tangles, which is somewhere Around here and as it gives you definitely not tangling. Now I have this amount of shedding, I would say mostly it was the Cutts web that I had to cut, because I cut a lot of the hair um so yeah when you cut the weft, it has to come out and I did not seal my lips. So if shedding is like a concern for you definitely seal your webs, so 22 inches on me is pretty long and I did cut like an inch or two off just so. The ends could be nice and I guess healthy looking. So I definitely give this hair two thumbs up. I just had to come in tell you guys that I was a very pleasant experience and I think it's definitely worth the price for it. Cuz ya'll know Aliexpress is super, affordable, I'll put the links below. So I hope you guys enjoy the tutorial if you do enjoy just hit the like button and then share so I'll see you guys at the end. Besides a comb, some scissors and some clips that you probably already have you're going to need some SI needles or your favorite hair needle hair thread, your favorite hair products and a flat iron blow-dryer or both, and then I'm going to blow-dry my hair and prepare it For braiding now, for my braid pattern, slash preparation, I'm going to start by separating and braiding down all the areas that I want to leave out. Next, I create two anchor braids in the front of my hair, which is where I park my hair. So I want to make them small, but sturdy and FYI. If I look pretty rough in this video, I didn't want to glamorize the process. This does take a little bit of getting used to so yeah. Just take your time and you'll be fine. Once you've separated your leave out and major anchor braids you're going to braid the rest of your hair now I personally, I braid them downward they're just easier and they still remain flat since I'm doing them myself. This is the easiest way to do it. You you, the last step I do in preparing my hair for a sew-in, is, I add, a mesh weaving cap which makes it easier to sew and it helps relieve tension on your hair and on your scalp, and this you can pick up from your local beauty Supply store as well. Okay, now we're ready to start sewing our extensions. I begin by securing the needle through the weft, and then I go under the first braid in the back. This ensures that your extensions are undetectable, especially when you put your hair in a high ponytail, so there I am, I'm sewing the needle under the weft and under my braids I only pierce the needle directly through the weft on the ends to secure them. Otherwise, I just loop the thread around the Westing, either over or under it doesn't matter, except on that first bottom row i looped it under, but whether over under it doesn't really matter also with four bundles of hair. I double the tracks in the back and I use the fold-over method, which is basically flipping the hair over and then at the top of my head. I use single Westing and then I cut the hair to make it lay nice and flat so double wess in the back and single wefts at the top. While you and me repeat this bittersweet heat is suffocating waiting and always hesitating kryptonite desires of my heart afire. You and lastly, I'm going to cut the excess net around my part and then style my hair as desired. I'M going to straighten my hair, you can style it. However, you want but make sure you use heat protectant when using heat on your hair. So we're almost done, as you can see in just a few hours, you can achieve a flawless sewing weave that you did yourself leave me a comment below and let me know if you do your own sewing weaves or if this is something you would try in The future, let me know you thank you all so much for watching, be sure to thumbs up if you haven't already and if you want to find me off youtube, I'm on Instagram, Twitter and snapchat. So I'll see you guys on the next video until then take care bye,

SimplyShanna: This video starts at 3:23!!!! You're welcome

Breiontay Griffin: Omg girl I just laid my first sew in ever!! Thank you so much!

Pridefulebony: natural hair ladies, that leave out will be puffy by the end of the day in this summer heat. don't even think about it

TheBrilliantBeauty: Per many requests, here is a tutorial on how I do my sew-in weaves. I try to give you all the tools for DIY hairstyles, so with this video, you can sew in your extensions like a PRO!

Jasmine Brown: that was the best diy sew in tutorial I've ever seen! I'm about to try it now. question: will my leave out blend and look natural if my hair in the front isn't very long? it's about 4 inches long I would guess. thank you for uploading this video!

tia: That was really good! I always thought a sew-in took an EXTREMELY long time and said I'd never spend that much time on my hair but that doesn't even take that long! The most tiring part is the braiding! Thank you so much because the other videos were lame but yours was very organized and had good quality. Nice job!

Preston Siegler: Wow! I never knew how people did this. I've never gotten a weave myself, so this is super cool to see! It looks great!

Davia Chrissy Davis: When doing My own sew ins I've never done it with a cap but I love the way you've done this & I'll deff be watching this Video the next time I do my own Sew in!!!! Thank You : )))

The tutorials on line that I have seen from other people have not explained it/ shown it to the extent that I can fully understand. Thanks for a super tutorial and again you look AMAZING. / Anna
