Hi you guys mckenzie here i am so freaking lucky to have my girl, miss lorraine, mavromatis in my chair today. I just got done doing her hair and i actually wanted to show you guys a little something. Now i made a video for lorraine um a little home video when we first did her invisible, bead extensions, and it was really helpful for her to figure out how to wash her hair at home, and so i thought i would run you guys through this now. So you know how i like to take care of my extensions and i'm going to show you on miss lorraine today. Okay, so lorraine is wearing two rows of invisible, bead extensions. Now this is what i like to suggest. If you're wearing two rows of hand, tied extensions, if you have just one in washing your hair at home, is pretty easy to do, but once you get two, it's like a whole new ball game. There is a lot of hair to deal with and you want to make sure that you're keeping the top of your wefts clean. So this is how i like to do it i like to separate out in between the two rows before you get in the shower. A lot of times stylists will suggest you know washing in between the rows and the shower. I find that kind of hard to do so. I like to do this before i get in the shower. I will just go through separate out in between the two rows. Okay, so you can see here i mean it's a little rough. It doesn't have to be super straight, but i'm in between okay, here's her bottom row right there. Her top row is right there, okay, so i'm just in between grab a clip or a scrunchie or something, but you want to keep this up and out of the way you're going to be washing your hair two times. Okay, make sure that you're using a sulfate and paraben free shampoo. Now what does that even mean with sulfates sulfates are salts you guys, so you don't want to put salts on your hair extensions or even on your natural hair. So, that's why your salon professional, is always saying: sulfate free, you don't want to scrub your hair with salt, the same thing, that's in your dish, detergent and in your laundry detergent. Okay, that's why we always recommend a salon: quality shampoo. So this is what you're gon na do you're gon na actually put on your hands and then you're going to start to work that through. But all of this is up and out of the way. Okay, so she's going to focus on the scalp and on the top of the wefts. Now what i like to do is i take these two fingers and i reach back so if i was washing my own hair, i would put these fingers on top this underneath and i go this way. Okay - and i follow that weft line and i'm scrubbing this way a lot of times - it's tricky for us, because we're used to scrubbing our hair this way in circular motions - if you don't have extensions in you, got to get used to doing you got to follow The tracks of those wefts okay, i like to split in between my fingers and do that all the way around really focusing on where those are attached. Now, here's a secret if you feel like you, have a lot of product buildup on your weft, and this is really common. It can happen if you use a lot of dry shampoos if you're using some kind of a smoothing, paste or cream. It can really cause some buildup. So i recommend using a detox, shampoo. Okay, every salon brand has one. I use kevin murphy here in my salon. So i use the maxi wash i'll do about two pumps in my hand, and i really just focus that along my weft line. I do that about every two to three shampoos: to break down any buildup of product oils on your skin. Anything like that will break it down completely, so definitely have one of those in your arsenal of shampoos when you're in the shower okay. Okay, so i like to use on a normal basis, kevin murphy, hydrate, shampoo. Okay, you want to use some kind of a hydrating, moisturizing shampoo, again you're gon na go through this way, don't be afraid to scrub at the weft line. It'S okay! I know it feels a little weird. You do need to be a little bit gentle, but you need to get in there and scrub all along okay i'll wash that out. So that's my first shampoo, you rinse, you scrub! You rinse it out and then you're gon na let down the rest of your hair. Okay, you're gon na do the same you're gon na wash it again same kind of concept, but now you've got this top weft that you're focusing on. Usually, unless you have a lot of dense hair, sometimes i even divide it into three, so you can, if you do, have a lot of hair on top. She actually does so you could take this top. Do the same thing get that out of the way and do this as your second shampoo same thing, you're gon na use a few pumps of shampoo i'll keep this up. For now, a few pumps of shampoo you're gon na focus right along this weft line. Again, really making sure you get in here and scrub scrub, your scalp okay. I know it can feel weird and you're a little worried. What'S it gon na do, is it gon na come out? No, if you have iv girl, it's not coming out. Okay, it's gon na stay in there really really good, so scrub. All the way around these two fingers, then you're gon na rinse that entirely still not putting on conditioner, yet we're just working with the shampoo. If you decided to do it into three, you would do the same thing here. Okay, you would really focus shampooing. This then you'd rinse it out. Okay, so now you're left with extremely squeaky, clean hair. Now what i suggest using is a deep conditioning mask or treatment. Now every salon professional line is going to have some kind of a deep conditioning treatment. Ask your stylist each stylist works with a different brand again for me, i like to use kevin murphy, so i really like the hydrate deep conditioning mask and what i'll do is. I do this all together, so again, shampoo in sections conditioned together focusing on here down conditioner does not need to be put on your scalp. So if you haven't learned that i hope you you'll take that away with us today, don't put conditioner on your scalp. This is what needs it. The ends of your hair i'll also take the fronts and i'll get around my face. Okay, so with her look at her beautiful face with her, if this was me doing, i would take these and i would make sure that these are getting conditioned as well again. Sometimes, if we just reach - and we do this - we don't forget the natural hair around our face. That needs to be deep conditioned as well. Now i will put that on i like to leave it on for about 10-15 minutes shave. Your legs sing a song whatever you need to do to make the time go by and then you'll rinse that out all completely okay. Then what you're gon na do and we'll follow this up with another youtube tutorial and we'll talk about all the products to put on afterwards, but make sure you're using a good detangler get those tangles out and voila you're gon na be good to go okay. So thanks so much for tuning in to our quick little easy tutorial on how to take care of your extensions at home. Thanks, miss lorraine for being my beautiful model and, as always like share subscribe.
