He was the mastermind behind my wedding. Updo even gave me extensions for a long summer. Beachy look a few years ago. Today'S trip takes us back to salon Cerrone for yet another transformation. Yes, so today's video is a little different I'll say we'll explain the mission in just a moment, but in the mean time time to get smocked out talk about the the care, because I know that's really important simple. The only thing you cannot do is put conditioner on the roots of your hair: okay, that's basically the heat, but what about styling products again, just on the end? And that's it if you will be amazed how little products we're going to use okay, because you really don't need them now. You know you had that that is all a hair or the texture that you didn't have before. Not even it's this, of course, and you can change the entire look yeah there's some people that you could have to be add some fullness. You change the look. They just want thicker hair, which happens to women as we get older. As you know, with hormone changes and all of that, the hair gets thinner, and so this is a quick way to give that fullness, that you had in your youth and it doesn't damage the hair not at all, not at all. It does one of the magic about this hair this over the years. This is the best I found the problem the best in the market, and it really works with the community really works with any texture hair. It really really really just exam all police have. I know you have other extensions, so, let's see I think we've got. I can't wait. Thank you. So the point of going through this today is to show you that you have options with hair. One thing you've learned about me as you've watched me through this year and a half together, I'm not attached to any hair style hair, doesn't define me in any way. You feel like it's, given you a new lease on life, I want to show you that going from short to longer doesn't have to be a struggle that with extensions you can immediately and visually take yourself where you want to be we're not having to wait through That grow out process and Cerrone has a great analogy about this as well. Like I always say you know, hair is almost like an accessory. You can always do the mirror to that. You know where you know where to subscribe. You know where the center of earrings so earrings, who added up to make you look chipper and that's exactly what he really you know it's an accessory right over there and what's neat about it is you can choose the length that you want, for instance, Cerrone when You gave me extensions. It was about two and a half years ago we went very long with that. Look. It was summertime very beachy. Well, this time around we're going to go for a shorter, a little bit more classy asymmetrical. The trend right now seems to be sweeping right at the shoulder, so extensions doesn't necessarily mean long draping, hair, it can mean fullness, it can mean a little bit more length is really determined by what your desire is. The placement is very important as well, because you want to be able to put your hair back in a ponytail as you want to right. You want to be able to do anything that you normally would do if you didn't have a sensor which your hair is different, because we cover in areas where there's no hair - and we want to you, know, make it look rich and that shop yeah, but still Gon na look really cool so once your hair, so watching us right with no products whatsoever, absolutely the clean - and it's super clean here so because you have the very short haircut almost like a bob. We need to make that straighter, so we're going to flat iron areas, so when we place the extension it just flat into it, so you don't have this little bit up around this and hence right so we started by that as no one. So I'm just going to take sections around and then I'm plot iron it just so we can get the hair and make it. You know, of course, will make a super straight. So I really just incorporate into this here without having a different haircut and then, after you have the extensions and then we can go with your styling yeah and I have to say the first. How could I find everyday? The first, when you shampoo the hair for the first time, it really becomes your hair because, like I said it has such a memory and adopts the texture over here, which is - and you have that before now. The hair that I'm using today is a better quality. But there's always a new product you're always found advanced it. So I found this product to be the most incredible silky beautiful natural colors, to really match you. You know a hundred percent. We have a box of it in your life. Yes, so talk to me about the product, what it's called and the brought the protocols in visit AB and it was assigned by the guy in Austin, Texas and yeah. Exactly yes right in Texas, pretty much but um he's using Italian hair. And this is real hair and this is real hair and when you do your purchase, but you can really because you don't need to waste hair, you know the different prices, of course. So in your case, we bought this smallest link, the shortest link. I'M sorry the shortest link, which is 14 inches. It'S just an X promotion is a longer version, so you didn't go too far. You know, like some people really want to do so far, and it's sometimes it's impossible. You know to achieve what they want, because it's the hair is too short. I have that asymmetrical. Look now this side right here is a little bit longer, so it's really just bringing in some to keep the same image. Just give me more. Yes, we're going to start by mixing the color, so if you notice we have three colors, we picked up your base color without with the dark we put the highlight color and in between that one. This country helped us to diffuse butter. So you don't go. I don't want to have black and white so by having the third color. It really diffuses the introduction of the highlight from the dog, it's your mid-range, so it's beautiful, and actually you pick the colors what made so that was perfect. You know it was very good. Good Tim, good teamwork and we're gon na start right behind it's really straight light from the top of your ear. We'Re gon na go up and that's what we want to build. Like I said in the past, the older ones will take you seven, seven to eight hours, you see them, and this will take. This is 30 minutes. Is it terminal terminal hair? The removal is so simple as well you can. This is when you use conditioner on the road and it just let it rest. You know, there's a special. Each company has a special product that you used to do the removals, because if you notice right here, we just added, we started with your base color and now we start want to start the combination of all those two colors. So we can attract this will blend into this and then the next section is gon na be with Alia, light or salt. We get all those colors in there. So basically, you can see where this is a showing, but it's still here, but you don't see it anymore because you will blend both colors and now here you're putting a blonde on top. Because more my highlights - and this is your hallelujah - so exactly! Oh, my god, like that, that's amazing! So yeah you see all of this now we're gon na have all of this once you incorporate all of this and I'm going to defuse that. Ah how so we haven't finished that right now, once you cut it. Yes, it's all going to blend anywhere been today. You know exactly because right here you know we just blend all of that to way. So when you basically start seeing tape popping through is when you need to remove them, don't wait until it's. I will some people wait when they have long hair, like on your case like Erica. You can wait up to like two months, but it's start damaging the hair because it's got twisting. So you have to be careful when, when you feel that okay they're getting tell you to lose, you don't want to put that much tension because you're drawing you know you doing things so once that's it to say it 3/4 of an inch. That'S a perfect time to remove down 6 Red Wings yeah, because that's that's a pretty much how you do your age. How do you do your color in your case, because we the look it's a little fuller right here and I need to disappear this line. We are gon na go a little higher with the extensions just because we have to it's more, your T's Morrison. Look, we tension the look, then we don't. You know, then we're making it thicker for just because you had is pretty thick right. The texture, because you know you have fine hair, but it's a lot, so we just change it. I think so we're gon na go a little higher to get more like to get more like this, okay. Well, let that fit pretty much! You can see how beautiful it shows it. Just just yep, you don't see a you know the separation of young hair. So, hypothetically, if a woman is just wanting a few longer pieces up front to give the illusion, she would only need a box of shorter ones. Price point wise: what could that work? We start at 1500 right, okay, so and when you buy the 1500, that means it will be paid for one set. 1308 people have different prices also, but I just wanted to make it easier for the consumer to be able to purchase one time and then the additional, washing and cleaning every type in it's only a small fee of $ 250. Every time you will do it. The original fee to purchase the hair in the first thing is around 1500 between a thousand to 1,500. They don't know about how, if you apply the conditioner right after you shampoo, without checking the excess of water, the condition it will never penetrate so so tell us your time talk a little bit. Okay, you know and then conditioner shade, because you only put it at the end correct and that's will be perfect. Okay. So this right now it's combining my hair with the extension with Accenture. Did you get a little so it doesn't look completely separate? Yes, I'm making much of it your area, much looser, but immediately just hope. I becomes your hair, so you're just mixing it up. I see some going forward, so I'm going back, especially when I see that it is too short, and I want to blend it better for work. Yes, you see it just blends her completely. You want to start the core where the other hair is so not a fire. No, oh, my god, the entire. You know unbelievable. It looks pretty fantastic. It looks beyond like we're, really ended and then, like Elvis said, you know, we Dominic. I said: here's a hairspray because she's the only one who can use a hairspray the best way, because you know you know how do you know how to separate in a man? That'S incredible like it looks like a lair. You know me like we just cut into a lair. I don't know - and I mean it - yeah yeah Wow babe - really no, but we got you achieve the look that you wanted without wearing a year and a half and that's the beauty of the beauty of existence, hair and it's natural hair and it completely blends in Come completely, that's you know beside my eyebrow tattoos. This might be the best decision ever. Thank you. Thank you. No thank you. The audience is gon na have a cow. I know. Oh, it's gon na be so cool. It'S gon na, be so cool.

Sunny W.: As a hair dresser and hair extension connoisseur it angers me that he gave this classy, beautiful lady such terrible and overly priced extensions. He did not bother to blend them and maybe it was just lighting and camera but the colors didn't seem to match all that well either. I wanted to strangle him every time he said "they really do look fantastic" because they didn't. Just because someone has their name on the salon doesn't make them a top notch hair stylist. I'm not saying he's not good in another aspects of hair styling but extensions aren't his thing.

SimplyBlessed: Trust me, there are people that can do a good/great job for a fraction of the price. You need to do just a little homework of asking. In the African American community, this style is a simple weave/ extension style done by many stylist daily, honestly, hourly. Seriously, your stylist will come by word of mouth. Just ask someone with s great hair style (weave or no weave), they are usually willing to share.
CdnCinnamongirl: Dominique, I just wanted to say thank you for demonstrating this process. Yes, the cost of semi-permanent extensions can be prohibitive for many, and clip-in extensions are available at a much lower cost and without the regular maintenance. Whichever "helper hair" we choose, it's wonderful to see a woman showing that options ARE available, and especially touching on the subject that hair can be considered an accessory and that women who are experiencing thinning/loss can benefit. You are gorgeous inside and out, short and long.

It does make you look younger, but I will say I liked the length you had say 6 months or so ago when I first found your videos (before you cut it to the length before these extensions).

Janice: With time they will blend in. I wear extensions (for thickening purpose) regularly and I let them to add aprox. 5 cm on length as well. Every time I exit the salon, the line is visual, within weeks it blends in. It is a fact that with shorter hair it is visually more noticeable. xo! Janice PS! The prices in Europe are in that case much more reasonable also with hair extensions. For example prescription strength tretinoin 0,5 is here 12 euros :)

Sharyn Newman: Dominique as always I enjoy watching and learning from your videos. It was interesting to see the process of extensions, and the concept of being able to change the style in "one sitting" at the salons is fabulous. However, with you having naturally wavy hair and the extensions being straight, it means that you will always have to blow wave your hair to combine the two sections being extensions and your own. So, leaving it natural at anytime may not be an option for the time being. You have so many products that you love using in your hair, it will be interesting to see how you feel after a few months. Keira P: Thanks for the great video. It looks lovely, Dominique, but I'm starting to think you'd look lovely with a skinhead or a blue mohawk! LOL. I actually had a few extensions put in recently, like you said in the video, just to add a bit of volume and a feeling of length when looking at it from the front. It was great (thankfully not as expensive as yours were. I think it was $250 for a box and then just a $50 fee when they needed to be reapplied. But they were still great quality.) The only thing I didn't like was not being able to run my fingers through my hair or properly comb it. And I couldn't wear a hairband or push my sunglasses up into my hair because it would pull on the extensions! But the actual look and volume it created was wonderful. It's so nice to be able to mix it up a bit and do something different. Go you, Dominique. You're such an inspiration.

Bonnie Hundley: I know plenty of friends with extensions, some they've had put on at the salon, some are clip in. I'm too lazy to deal with the upkeep, so if I cut my hair short, I just wait. But, those clip in extensions look great for temporary length and yay, you can remove them. Her hair is gorgeous with or without the extensions. Amazing job with making that all look real.

Riggins Riggins: I love this idea. I have refused to add highlights due to the damage of bleach. I can add highlights and lowlights within 30 minutes, without damaging my hair.:-) This color option is great for women from diverse backgrounds. My 2016 game changer. I think 3 colors are necessary for optimum results.

I've always had short hair and I love the look, but every now and then, I get in the mood to have a longer look, not supper long, but maybe the length of the short bob you started with in this video. Now I can see that perhaps I don't have to wait the months and months to grow my hair out. Hair extensions could make the process less painful - I tend to chicken out and go back to the same short haircut I've always had when my hair gets in that middle yucky stage. My hair stylist could give me some advice about what would work best for me and my budget. Thank you so much for showing the process and talking about the ongoing maintenance of the extensions. Please make more videos showing us how your own hair is blending with the extensions over time to see how it evolves.

I'm sorry :( Having had extensions myself they do require quite a bit of work; that being said I had a different type that are applied with wax and heat and you could NOT tell that I had them! I had mine for volume only.

I think the clip ins are more affordable but if you can afford these then go for it. You look beautiful either way.
