Hi sorry for the creepiness, I just really love them. You guys, I have another great Shorthair episode for you today. You probably saw from a thumbnail, I am doing my short hair and showing you guys how I blend in my Lexie hair extensions and the results are fantastic. They are seriously really great so quickly. I'M going to talk about how I matched my beautiful set of Lexie, hair extensions to my very natural hair, color, very natural and then my short haircut and style. So this right here is a 220 gram set in the shade ash blonde. When I first received them, the actual color was a little bit too yellow and brassy for my natural hair color, so I just went in and just told them with my favorite, shampoo and conditioner. So what I do is I leave the shampoo and conditioner each for at least a minute or two just let them do its thing and then I go back and rinse it, and then I actually hang them from a lighter that I have in my kitchen and Then, just let it hang and just dry, so this next part is how I cut and trimmed and layered the extensions to my actual hair length. I cut my own extensions because I feel comfortable doing that, keep in mind. Extensions don't grow back. So if you're not comfortable, take it to a professional, so I have layers in my hair, not too short and then my ends are actually textured, so they're, not too blunt after I was happy with the color of my hair. That'S when I went and I placed all the original length - extensions into my hair - that's where I kind of measured and saw how much length I actually had to cut off on each extension. I took off at least four inches because it was way too long and it didn't blend in at all with my short hair. So this is the length that I prefer it's perfect and it blends in very nicely. But yet it's still long long enough for me and it gives me beautiful voluminous waves in my hair. In my opinion, I think the most important element of hair extensions blending really well within your short hair is layers. So let me just quickly show you what I do: take your scissors and place the extension in between the little part right here in the middle and you're going to do this motion very light scissoring, basically, not all the way you don't want to close it at All barely closing it because you will cut the entire hair off extensions. I started very gently doing the scissors down while motioning the scissors to cut you guys can see. The hair is already falling off, I'm just quickly creating layers. So after I cut the length of the extensions I went back in and then I just layered each side, so you see how it's kind of like a V. That'S what I like for my hair when it has extensions in it blends much better. That way. With my short hair, alright, so let's get to the actual fun part. Let'S put the extensions in the first set is going to be pretty low to the back of my head. So I like to go like about half way behind my ear and then just clip the rest of your hair back. Take a teasing comb and just tease your hair a little bit next to the roots of your hair, just to give a little bit more grip to the hair extensions for this first lowest section take the three clip extension and then just unclip the clips. I'M going to start with the middle clip and clip it as close as possible as it can to the middle portion of my head and then just continue on the side. Clips next section is going to be right above the ear, so in the extension set that I have, I have two sections that have four clips. One is a little bit shorter and one is longer this next section is going to be the four clips that is shorter same as the first section always start with the middle clips and then make your way out. So this next four clip is the longest out of all of the sets start off the temples and just make your way around. So, the same as for clips, you get to three clips sections, so you have one last clip, and this is where you're going to place it right on the crown of your head. So you see how a lot of the length on the volume is towards the back. You see that and there's like nothing right here in the front. There'S two sides of the two clip extensions. This is where is going to come very in handy where we're going to place it right in the front. So where I like to place the two clip extensions. Is I go slightly above my temple area? You basically just want to grab a big section of hair, so you can cover the extensions. Take the two clip section and then just place. The first clip towards the front of your hair do exactly the same thing to the other side. So because I do have such short hair and you can still see it within the long extensions I'm going to take this lower section of hair roll it up and pin it right into my extensions to kind of hide them away. So, as you can see, the short bottom layers aren't peeking through from underneath making it. You know, look not as blended or fake, so I think that helps a lot so now, let me quickly show you how I style and curl my hair. So I just pick up that first section that doesn't have any extensions in just my real hair from the very top and I pin it back so I'm taking my natural short hair with the extension and I'm going to curl them together, I'm using the hot tools. One and a half inch curling one, and it's probably one of my favorite sizes to use because it gives just that beautiful natural wave. So I clip it down make sure both of my hair are in there, the extensions and my hair and then just start curling. The hair away from my face take the last section out. This is where I go and I just curl some of the hair just to give it a little bit more wave in volume just to let it blend. With the other extensions and my my hair as well, once I'm done curling and waving my hair, I take a brush and very gently brush it out just to kind of blend, my hair within the extensions and just kind of tussle them around there. You have it. This is how I blend in my very short hair with the long luxy hair extensions. Don'T forget the coupon code and the link to save you.
