Hello, my love's today, I'm going to show you how to go from short to crappy, not so fun, hair to your own glamorous volumize, DIY tape and hair extensions. Now before we get into this tutorial, I just want to do a little disclaimer. I am not at all a trained professional - I am doing this based on my own knowledge of carefully watching the process be done on myself now with that being said, keep in mind that you are at your own risk. If you decide to do this and follow my steps for this tutorial, make sure that you follow it very very carefully and if you are still unsure, then make sure you look up even more do-it-yourself tutorials, because these are at-home hair extensions, which does come with the Risk of making your hair fall outs, if you don't do it correctly and securely, and if you are rough with them, you're going to rip out your own hair so be very, very careful and make sure you get a brand that you are comfortable with, and today I'M going to be using amazing Beauty, hair extensions in 18 inches to do my own tape, and this is what the tapes look like. So it comes with a set of 20 per each and for my head I need exactly two packs, so I cannot to get a full application out of buying one pack. I have to buy two, but I'm going to be doing today is cutting these wefts and half for me, I'm doing it the way that I saw in Japan what they did on me for an entire year, and I found it was just a little more comfortable And natural so cutting each single weft in half with tiny scissors, then after that you're gon na go in and slice halfway down or just about past the halfway mark, so that when you fold the extension over the hair, you're gon na get a very more secure Bond that will last a bit longer as the tape will create a sandwich, an effect on the little section of hair you're gon na be securing it to the reason why you're cutting it down the center is because some left's are a little too stiff and will Open up actually did a test round of these and notice that when I folded them without cutting the slit down the middle that they did kind of open up later on, so cutting that slits, just gon na make it a little more secure. So combing my hair and taking a straightener, I mean gee just going lightly straighten. My hair reason being is that this is going to tame any flyaways crinkled hairs that might get in the way of our taping process. We want our hair to be as smooth as possible while doing this, so you don't get any crinkled hairs in the tape which would snag on your comb or just not create a smooth application. Then dividing your hair into small sections and rows you're going to select a very small section of hair in a really thin section now this is where it might take practice, because you don't want too thin of a section, and you don't want to thick of a Section because if it's too thick, the tape will not secure to the sandwich in effect, so each side of the tape will not connect to each other and if it's too thin you're most likely going to pull out your hair. So be really careful! You want enough hair, that's when you sandwich it. The tape will touch each other and also have enough hair to grip on to securely. So this process is something I'm going to do around my entire head, which and hey Steve, intimidating and trust me. It is but, like I said, with practice makes perfect. The back of your head can also become really tricky to do. For me, I'm not too concerned because I have really thin hair, so it's easier for me to get a fuller look without applying it perfectly. However, if here's someone with really thick hair, you might want to get help by a friends or your mom or your boyfriend, it's or a significant other to do the back of your head for you, because if you have thick hair, it's gon na be obvious that You didn't do the back of your head for me. I can get away with it for sure so repeating this process around my entire scalp and trying to apply it evenly so that I have enough hair for each side and around my entire head. So one side isn't fuller than the other, just as you can see, I'm literally just sandwich in them two small sections of my hair. Of course there are different methods you can use for doing your own tape in extensions. My way is a little more tedious, but I feel like it moves more naturally with your natural hair and it also blends a little more seamlessly when you cut them and divide them into sections. Of course, this process is going to take about two hours to do, at least for me. It took just under two hours but, as you can see, it's really seamless looking I mean there is some that I applied too close to the top of my head to the part, the top of my head, but you know what practice makes perfect and for me I always notice whenever I get fresh new extensions, it looks a little too healthy compared to my natural hair, but after I shower it matches my hair texture pretty perfectly so because I want this to blend a little bit better with my natural hair, because my natural Hair has a blunt haircut, I'm just going to trim a little bit of the extra length off of the ends to make it blend a little more seamlessly and not look so ratty and, like I obviously have extensions in so here. I'M taking off about maybe two inches so going from an 18 inch extension application to about 16 or 15 I'd say and then once I did, the blunt cut I just went in after and thinned it out just a little bit and that made the whole application Process look a little bit more smooth natural, unbelievable now. This definitely is not just something I recommend anyone to do if they are uncomfortable doing their own hair, not confident doing their own hair. Ask a friend to help you, because it really is something you can easily screw up and for me I've always been someone who's done. My own hair I've been cutting my own hair for years, because it's really thin and I couldn't get away with it. I'M gon na dyeing my own hair for years, and I've been using clip-in extensions for years up until recently, as I've fallen in love with the concept of tape and extensions, I think they're great they're not super damaging on the hair, they're easy to apply and easy To take out if you're, careful and patient as well and the end result is just lovely now, tape and extensions do last anywhere from one month to two months and then once they start to fall out, you can literally pick them out carefully or get a tape And extension remover and pull them out gently and then you literally can just buy replacement tape and redo them yourself. The hair stays in a good condition if you treat it well over the that month to two months and it's just amazing, I love taping hair. It'S done so much they're great. I highly recommend them so check out. Amazing beauty, hair, you guys in the description box too. Oh I'm sure they have some Black Friday deals going on or deals in general. I really love the color that I have. Offensivebrat: Bro.... she just killed the game. I legit never thought about cutting them in half. Way more natural looking and your packs stretch farther. Queen

Tanz Tube: The reason why they slip out is because you aren’t clamping them with a hot iron . If you clamp the tape in your hair it will seal it making them last longer

Elsa Padilla: As a professional, great job!

Sarah_grace303: Yo bending them together like that was a live saver for my extensions thanks for that trick. So much easier and more comfortable

Grace Hyland: This looks like such a legendary technique, I never even thought of this

Kristin Lukich: This is amazing! I'm about to try for myself for the first time - do you think this would work without cutting the extensions in half first? Like if you just took the tape, cut it halfway down in the middle, and then folded / sandwiched them from there? I just feel like for the first time putting that many tiny pieces might be tough. Thank you for your help you are amazing!

Justcyeydhtw: This is absolutely genius. Got my first round of tape in extensions and was so nervous before this tutorial. You explain everything so well and I would have never thought to apply these like this. You are a beast, girl

Debbie Willoughby: This is genius and you get more movement, never seen this method, this looks easier than the original way everyone else does, thank you so much!

Jstova Bug: So glad I saw your do it yourself video for tape in extensions! Im an ambassador for a company called sunny human hair. They've sent me 16", 18" clip ins and I just got the tape in ones. I love the idea of folding them in half. I saw other sites where they stacked full pieces. Folding definitely looks easier. I can put clip in extensions with my eyes closed. So im not to afraid. Thanks for posting this!

Shelbi Mathews: I’ve been doing my own for over a year and I’ve never seen it done this way! So cool.

Mikayla Woodin: omg... you just KILLED that!! i cant wait to try it like this... looks so much more natural and you get so much more out of the extensions. i was so nervous to do it myself but this doesn’t look as intimidating!! Great job

Jessica Rebhahn: I'm so happy to have come across your video. I've done clip in extensions but they horribly ruined my hair. I am definitely going to give this a try when mine come in, and hopefully it will help make it enough.

Ashley Summer Kern: I'm SHOOK. I'm so glad I came across this. I just ordered my extensions yesterday and I keep thinking about how kind of "bulky" the tape-ins are if you didn't cut and fold them, but I wanted to try it nonetheless. I bought 2 packs of dark brown and 1 of a medium brown to add dimension. Now I'm thinking of cutting them in half and rather than folding them, just sandwich the smaller pieces with dark brown on top/medium brown underneath throughout my head. You deserve a standing ovation girl.

nouna bueno: You make it look so easy and the end result is astonishing **

Steffi Weller: I just applied my light blond 22“ tape ins and I have to say I always had problems having a high ponytail or bun because all the perimeter tapes did show but with your method I was able to go closer to the perimeter.... they bend so well now Thank you

Becky Coulter: Wow finally found this video after loosing it about a year ago I tried this way with skin wefts tape ins it looks like the hair is growing from the scalp Excellent idea for women that have really fine hair Or even a few highlights thanks girlie love this video glad I found it again my friend was wanting to see it

Rebecca P: I was worried about matching up the two tapes where I can't see well, until I saw this tutorial! This should make them match up so easily. Thanks.

Judith van Arnhem: Omg love this! Never thought of putting then in like that. Is it still easy to remove them?

Allison Bennett: beautiful hairtutorial!! <3 loved it ^^ your the most beautiful woman! love your vids there easy to follow and fun to watch! I personally only shop with ZALA hair extensions, refuse to go anywhere else to get my hair on FLEEK

Lilly Walford: Thank you so much for this video! I have thin hair so I’ve always wanted extensions for volume but been worried about how to blend them in with my hair and this method worked really well. You honestly would never guess I even have extensions.

Sommer T: Finally don't need to watch video after video I have definitely decided without a doubt this is the method I'll be using! Thank you so much!!!!!

Jenna Logan: Honestly this is genius! I love tape in extensions but like you I have thin hair and I always had difficulty with applying them correctly, I could never apply them straight across some were always lower than others and matching them up on top of one another was a challenge in and of itself. I never got the ratio of hair "sandwiched" to extension correctly so the top piece would always end up separating and peeling apart from the bottom piece and of course anytime I wanted to pull my hair up or back, the seams were clearly visible. Your technique of applying the extensions are going to make things so much easier for me now and I won't need to worry about my hair being thin because the seams will barely be visible since their a quarter of the original size. I really appreciate this video because it gives me new hope that I can still wear my tape in extensions!

Leeanna Mozden: Love your technique. I have been wearing them for years and this is the first time I've ever seen your method. Thank you so much for sharing it

lauren elizabeth: This is the best tape in how to I’ve seen in years! So glad I found it. Thanks for sharing! Can’t wait to try this tonight! :)

Valentina Griffin: oh WOW This is gorgeous!! I think they’d be great to add some volume and length to my hair! I personally only shop with zala hair, big fan of their ponytails - want to get some clip ins next

Eli Resurreccion: I’ve never see someone do a fold over method for tapes before only a traditional sandwich but this is pretty cool

Chloé Zadori: Omg thank you for this!!!! folding them is such a great idea!!!! You just saved me a lot of money this month ahah xx

starrrqueentarot: Hi! I hope you will make a video on how to remove them and reapply to the roots! Thats my problem lately!

Gucci❤Mademoiselle: Omg I want to try this!!! Do you think this will work on curly hair that I always wear straight or is it difficult to style the root with tape ins?

Vitani1988: Awesome tip to Sandwich them like that!

Evelyn Sanchez: Best way to put tape in extensions I have seen, since I am gonna do it for the first time I was getting nervous about it,specially of doing it wrong and the extensions showing Can’t wait to try the technique you showed thank you.

T: This is genius!

ClassyReya: Definitely trying this thank you!

LoriLou Who: I have always thought of doing them this way ! It’s so smart and look so much better

Lea Seberg Fladstad: Can tape extensions easily cause hairloss even when I have only used it once and gently tore them off my hair instead of extensions remover?

Sunshine Galkw: Looks great!

megavolumequeen: Omg this is such a good idea!!

Miss Samhain: You did such an amazing job!! you look amazing girl! I’ve been looking into doing it myself but I have a level 7 strawberry blondish/ copper color & I’ve been debating on wether or not to get dark blonde or light brown ‍♀️ I love you hair color by the way it’s really pretty!

Amirah Sagaiar: You mentioned you dye your own hair ?! It looks amazing ! Can you do a tutorial ? X

Mira: Love this!! How long until you have to remove the tapes? Are they reusable?

Amy Cass: I've done clip in extensions for years. I need a different alternative due to constant headaches I get with the clip ins. Question... with tape in extensions, do u shower with them in and sleep with them in? With my clip ins, I always take them out b4 and then put back in after.

MELANI MARIE: Girl. You’re the best.

Sabrina Potter: I've heard somewhere that they do not stay in as long being folded, is that true? I REALLY wanna use this method because it's brilliant, but I wanna be sure!

n_dix0n: about how long did it take for you to apply all of the extensions? also, how often do you touch them up and how much time do the touch ups take? thank you!

Faith Johnson: How often do you need to get them taken out and put back in ? What happens if you go longer than 2 months ? I travel for work and it’s general every 3 months to see my stylist.

Albina Fabiani: OMG ... this is an amazing technique !!! Thank you for sharing !!!

Lea Seberg Fladstad: Has anyone else started wearing extensions also just because you have also had problems having short and thin hair for a long time and not been able to get long and thick hair again which you don't have patience or not even have time to wait for some special reasons as me? How long can tape extensions be on hair before it had to be removed, can it be used again several times on hair, how long can tape extensions be on hair before it had to be removed, how long do I have to be without tape extensions before I can wear it again, how long can it last before it gets worn out, how many tape exensions do I need for short and thin hair when I want long and thick hair, how can I keep it on my hair without it falling off, does it feels natural like our own hair when we wear it, will tape attachment be invisible on short and thin hair, can it make hair worn, how to blow-dry my hair and tape extensions without it being worn if tape extensions have to be blow-dryed every time I wash both my hair and tape extensions and do tape extensions need any other products than just extra tape, remover and another shampoo and conditioner?

Ariel Lynn: Thank god for you thank you so much ur the goat for this.

Sharon Dallas: This is so cool! I didn't know this could be done at home, thanks for the video

Jennifer Mondy: Wowwww... I never thought of cutting them in half like that. I may do this in a couple of months!!!

Shahad Miriam Alsabawi-Haaning: I never comment- but giiiiirllll you lifehacked the shit out of tapehair THANK YOU

Ellie Callahan: It’s hard to put them in for the first time. It gets easier as you do it more often tho.

Destiny Swensen: I love this tutorial and I've purchased my own extensions, If you are still doing your own maybe you could do a more in depth tutorial on the placement of them? Thanks so much! :)

MoFukka: You are such a smart queen for teaching us this method

alicia malatesta: I am about to do my own for the first time im so glad I saw your video before hand!

Liz: can you still wear your hair in a ponytail or bun with these?

Sarah: how many grams did you use? :)

Malwina: The extension looks soo real and you make it seems so easy to apply

Jeannie Huff: I am new to tape in. I just did my first set and there is definitely room for improvement. They are too far from my scalp. I am super excited to try this technique. Thank you!

Breeze: This is genius

Yuneidy McNabb: My extensions is arriving today and I'm excited to try this

MarieKalisaXO: What brand of replacement tape do you get when reusing them?

Bonita Brewer: I never thought of that! Definitely doing the fold method next time!

Ana: Omg it looks amazing I'm so clumsy I wouldn't dare to try it hahaha

D.Y. Jo: Hi Bronwyn- I saw this method in a Japanese salon video.. you did such a great job! Do you use a 3-way mirror or go by feel? My hair is very fine and thin and I’m worried about damage when they come out- how has that been with your hair? Thank u so much- great video and info!

Madeline Cingle: Have you noticed damage after you take the hair extensions out compared to before?

A Ortiz: ive dont tape ins and other extensions for years, never thought of doing it this way, but for me 2 hours? oh no lol only takes me 30-40 minutes when I use tape in the regular way

Bri Szerszen: Can anyone by chance recommend a good legit online site to buy tape ins?

IRIDA BUCI: Can i ask you by which method do extensions last longer? With keratin or with tape extension? Sorry for my English

deanne olinger: Thanks this is a wonderful idea. When I had tape in they were so uncomfortable and the tapes were so wide my hair is fine and thin., you could see them if the wind blew a certain way and they were really itchy. Can you tell me how you deal with the tape after removal In order to reapply do you just add new tape?
