My channel, so today's video is gon na, be on how I install my own tape and extensions. So, as you know, as you probably know, I'm a do-it-yourself kind of ish when it comes to my hair. Just because I I mean I used to really enjoy the process of doing my own hair, I've been coloring my own hair for years and then about like a year and a half ago I decided to bleach my hair and you know, experiment a lot with bleach That was kind of a disaster, but I still color my own hair, which I have a video on this hair color if you're interested, but back in September. Since you know my own hair is kind of short because of all the bleach. I decided to get some tape in installed, so I actually went to a salon. I, the hair, that I have is still the Bombay hair which I'll talk about this later but yeah I use Bombay hair. I do have a coupon code if you're interested it's Chloe. Ten, if you wan na save money, but I still use the the same hair, I just colored it myself, so I decided to get my depends install back in September at a salon, so I'll leave the name of the salon here. I still recommend the salon, so I actually went there twice to get my t pins installed each time my hair and lasted me for like two months I would say, then I decided to order my own tape from Bombay, because I didn't want to use their tapes Anymore, so this is just the same from Bombay. This was $ 20, I believe, but then with shipping was 30 and he gets 70 tapes, which is pretty good. So then I was just gon na bring my own tape to the salon, but then I was thinking I was like you know what I can do this myself and then I actually came across a video which really saved my life. So I'll leave the video down below because I'm pretty much copying the technique, but I still wanted to show you so I will leave the girls Instagram and YouTube down below yeah. I just decided to do it myself because, honestly, you know the hair was really expensive, but then installing the hair and it's very expensive to it's almost $ 300. So like 280, you have to do that every two months, and so it's just very expensive. It was really hard for me to show you everything I was doing, because the way I was filming in my bathroom, I really had to use two mirrors to be able to see what I was doing so just quickly I'll sort of explain what I did and Then I'll show you the footage. So, as I said, I just used the tapes from Bombay, and I thought this was gon na, be like such a huge process to retake all my hair, because, as if you didn't know been extensions, are great because you can actually reuse the hair at multiple times. So so this is like a tape, an extension with the tape. So when you're, installing the hair, you just pull on the little tab, is that the proper word? And then you just install it in your hair and then usually the way hair extensions are put in your hair. You basically have to like this. I should have brought another one up. I only have one here, so you basically have to tapes like this. Then you'll use one, you have your hair and then you have another tape. So it's like a little sandwich of here now, if you look at this, this is you know it's pretty wide, and so when it's all in your hair, especially because I have shorter hair - and I like lots - I mean the previous times. I had like really really long hair, so then I I needed lots of tapes in my hair, especially because I have a lot of hair to begin with, but it's kind of short, so I need them in more to make everything blend, and so it was kind Of hard for me to put my hair up because then the tapes you know this is super wide, and so it doesn't really move with your hair as well. No, the girl in the video what she did is she basically like cut them in half and then every lower half she would fold it like that. So I decided not to cut mine, but I decided to fold them like this, and so that way, this little piece of hair is much thinner. It just moves with your hair, a lot better. I can't put my hair up, though I just feel like. It looks a lot more natural, like the less I wanted to put my hair up. It'S just like way easier and I can get like a much like flatter ponytail before I used to have these like really large tapes, and so it just went look good when I would put my hair up - and personally, I do like to put my hair up Now look at my short little pony. It used to be like really really long, but I decided to go shorter with my hair, just because I didn't want as many tapes in my hair so yeah I mean here on camera. My hair still looks pretty long, but I believe it's like 16 inches, which is still you know it's a good length, but I used to have like 20 inches, 18 inches, so yeah, I'm actually kind of enjoying this light. You'Ll see in the video it's much longer, but then I cut it because all the tapes who are not all the same length and so yeah - I kind of just cut it pretty even today, and I do like it. If I can't have you, I don't want you to have anyone and if you don't want me, there's something wrong like them right, maybe I don't have lost my perception, like I wan na, do something wrong. No packing all your belongings say you wan na take some time, but if you say we'll meet again why'd you have to take everything. No baby, I like you, have you met someone. No me. No, I better stop cryin make them feel, but before we leave smile so for the installation process. As I was saying, I decided to just fold one tape in half like that and then, since I'm doing it myself, it's much easier that it's folded like that, because I can just grab a little piece of the hair and then you know just basically clip. I mean not really clip but just tape the little sandwich together, it's much easier to do. You don't have to play with like two different tapes and then have them on top of each other. This method is much easier if you're gon na do it yourself, but I recommend it's kind of tricky because you, if you take too little hair in between the the sandwich, it's gon na pull on your head a little bit, because if the extension is gon na Be heavier than the hair. You know it's gon na be really heavy on your hair, but then, if you take too much hair in between, then the tapes won't really sticks, so that was kind of the tricky part for me just to have the right amount of hair in the little sandwich. But um it didn't take too long. I think I was done in less than two hours, which is pretty good. I thought I was gon na. Take me like all day, but it was pretty easy to do and I would do it again so um yeah, that is kind of it. I know my hair looks a little dark right now, just because I'm it's freshly died, and so that's why it looks a little dark and since we're talking about hair, I thought I would share with you of the shampoo and like hair care. I'Ve been using recently. So for shampoo, is this one from Shu Amira? So this is the lightweight care shampoo for fine hair. I have this because I got in PR. This is more something I would use in the summer right now in the winter. My hair is for sure more drying. Naturally, especially in the winter, but this just kind of what I have right now, it's a really good shampoo. I really like Shu Amira. They make really great hair care products, it doesn't dry out my hair, and it gives me like great volume - is just not really what I would reach for, usually in the winter, but it's fine, that's what I've been using and the mask was actually really really good. I finished that I feel, like I've, had trouble finding a good mask for my hair extension like I feel, like some mask, or just too heavy for the my hair extensions, but that one worked really really well and it did really good on my own hair as Well, so I really recommend the mask from this line and then I'm for conditioner I've been using this one, which is again from show Mia, but this is the ultimate remedy. This is extreme restoration conditioner, so this is for ultra damaged hair. So I used to use this line last year when my hair was bleached and the conditioner is like really really good and then I know usually I always use a mask, but I ran out of all the masks. I really really loved, and so that's why today this is what I used. I'Ve been also using this one from this brand, which griot Co not exactly sure. If I'm pronouncing it right. This is called, don't risperidone despair, repair, deep conditioning mask, and I've heard some amazing things about this brand and for some reason I'm just not in love with the mask. I I don't know I just feel like today. My conditioner did did more for me than this. Did last time that I wash my hair, so I don't know, and also recently, I've been washing my hair a lot more. I for a while was only washing my hair like once a week, but then recently, instead of washing my hair of just more so I wash it two times a week, which is what I used to do before when my hair was healthy. But then, when I bleached it, it was really really dry, but I realized - and my hair looks so much better now when it's just freshly washed, and so I'm like you know what I'm just gon na wash it more often and that's kind of also why I've Been wearing it straight in LA just because it's really easy and it looks really good when it's freshly washed, so yeah that is kind of my hair. This. These are the products I use for leave-in conditioner. I use one from chaos fast, which I'll leave below, and I still really like the hour as in nighttime serum. I really really love that so I'll leave those below but yeah. Those are the products I use right now for my hair. Now I don't know how long I'm gon na keep these extensions. In I mean how long I'm gon na do tape ins I do like them. Obviously it's not like my own hair, and so I can't wait to have my own hair back. These extensions are Fisher making you feel a little better in the process. Just because I you know my hair length right now is great. Lots of people look really good with shorter hair. It'S just all my hair right now is not the same length, and so I feel like it doesn't look as cute, so anyways I'm liking the extensions for now, but I can't wait not to have to wear them anymore, but Fisher recommend Bombay like the hair is Really really good and I've also colored the hair three times thus far, and it still feels really really good so yeah. I will leave everything that I talked about down below. I hope this video was helpful. If you want to do your own tape and extensions, I Fisher recommen mean it's for sure, doable. I didn't think it was, but it is and yeah. I hope you enjoyed this video if you have any questions, leave them below.
