Are Bombay Tape In Extensions Worth The Money?! My Experience

I recently decided to try out a different brand of tape-in hair extensions and I came across Bombay hair. I haven't seen many reviews online so here is my experience in case you've ever been curious to try them! My extensions are the 20" tape-ins in espresso from https://bombayhair.ca

So today I'm going to be talking about hair extensions. If you guys didn't know, I have worn tape and hair extensions for at least two years now. Maybe three, I can't even remember: I've been wearing a pin exceptions for a really really long time, and I absolutely love them and mainly wear tape and extensions, because I have really fine hair. My hair is just super limp and very very thin. It always has been that way and it wasn't so bad before, but at the end of high school I ended up dye. My hair blonde, which completely ruined my hair, was definitely a huge mistake and then a couple years after that I had my hair bright red. I don't know if you guys remember those days, but all that dyeing in processing of my hair definitely really ruined my hair. I never used to have like baby hairs, and now I do, and it just made my hair even thinner than it was before, so I finally decided to get some tape and extensions and they're not really that much longer than my natural hair but they're, just mostly For that volume, so I have been loving them and recently I tried a new brand of hair extensions, so I kind of want to talk about that today and share my experience with you guys. So a really quick background on hair extensions, if you guys are unfamiliar with them. Essentially tape and hair extensions. Look like this. They almost look like clip-in extensions, but this is actually tape and not a clip on the top of them. So what you would do is take one weft of hair and you would put it underneath a very small, thin piece of your own hair and then you would stick another one right on top of that. So it would kind of sandwich your hair in between and then adhere to each other so that it would stick into your hair. They are permanent, hair extension or semi-permanent hair extensions, so you don't have to take them out everyday, like you would have clip in you. Keep them in for six to eight weeks and then you need to get them moved up on your head because, obviously, as your hair grows, so does the extension. So you have to get them put back up, they're a lot less damaging. Then some of the kinds that are like micro beaded to your hair, because there's less that you need and are a lot lighter - there is a little bit of less damage than you normally see. There obviously is so gon na be some damage, because that's just how it goes with hair extensions, so I used to use hot Headz hair extensions. Those are the ones that my stylist would buy. She would buy them from some kind of like hair. We tell her that you have to be a stylist to get them from, but that's the ones that she really preferred. So that's the ones that I've been wearing for the last couple of years and I did really like them. There were some pros and cons to them. The pros were that the quality of the hairs were really nice. The tape also was really great. They. What didn't leave sticky residue in my hair? They came out really easily we're easy to put back in for her, so that was awesome that came in so many colors. They were easy to die. They kind of tapered down a thinner at the end, so they were easier to style and cut. The only things I didn't like about them was a they had a natural wave to them and my hair is pin straight so whenever my hair would dried. Naturally, you could kind of tell the extensions from my hair because they had a bit of a weight to them, which, for some people could be a pro. But for me it was a con that other con was that they were really really expensive. There was think it was two hundred and seventy-five dollars a shirt around three hundred dollars for one pack and you usually won't like a couple packs for your hair. So that's so expensive and the other thing was that the extensions didn't really seem to last that long. I'Ve had a few really bad experiences with a couple packs of hair, where little chunks of the extension would fall out as I was wearing them, so I'd just be brushing my hair normally and little chunks would fall out or after I'd washed, my hair or something. I would just be literally falling out and falling apart and every time I put them in again like redo them. It would always just be really hard because there'd be little pieces missing and then it would be all sticky and weird, so I just found that they just didn't hold up a lot of them. I had a few that were fine, but then some packs weren't. So just kind of like hit or miss if they were going to be a good quality or not, which was really really annoying, especially for the price. So I decided to do some research and pick out some different ones and buy them and then bring them into my hair style, and she said it was totally fine and without finally deciding to try bombay hair extensions. I watched some reviews, but there wasn't really a lot out there, which is why I decided to make this video. So this is what they came in the box right here now these ones were a lot more inexpensive than the other ones. These ones, I think, ranged from about 140 to 160 for one pack, which is like almost half of the price of the other ones that I was talking about. I got the 20 inch one, so they were 160 dollars per pack, Canadian. It was 10 dollars flat rate shipping for two days shipping I got the next day, so they came super super fast and I got mine in the color espresso, so they came in a super cute box, like I said it's like pink with white marble and you, Like open it like that, I actually used the little white marble insert as like a drawer organizer in my Alex nine door. This is like another box that I have and they came in like just a little packet like this. They were all rolled up in a little hairnet and yeah. It was really cute packaging very nicely done. So these are what the extensions look like that I have a pack and a half in my hair, so these were the ones that were left over after. This is just like a really dark brown color and the reason I really like these ones is because they go really thick all the way to the end, it's kind of hard to tell, because this isn't a lot of hair. It'S only a few pieces, but when I had all them together, like they go so thick all the way down to the end, and I even had people like commenting when I put these in for the first time that my hair just looked a lot. Fuller and healthier, but the other thing I really like what these ones is, that the tabs are really nice and inconspicuous. So the hair goes right over top of the tabs, so you can't really see it if you're wearing your hair up or something and a little bit of a tab is showing people wouldn't be able to tell that it's an extension because it blends so nicely with Your actual hair, this one's also dry a lot straighter than the hot head ones. So I don't have to worry about that weird wave in conjunction with my straight hair, it just kind of blends a lot nicer for me. So overall, I've been really liking. The bombay hair extensions they're really easy to style, so that's really awesome. They curl and straighten, just like my regular hair would. But there are a couple cons that are kind of annoying about them. The price is awesome, the look of them is awesome, the feel of them is awesome and the styling of them is great, but the only thing that we found some trouble with. I went to my hairdresser like a week ago and I had to get them moved up, so she took it out wash my hair like she normally would and then put them back in, but they were really hard to get out of my hair. You guys the glue is so sticky. It was leaving sticky residue in my hair and it just took her way longer than it normally would when I would have the hothead ones. I think it would take us like half an hour to take them out and then wash it and put them back in and dry my hair and style it. It took like over an hour this time because she had to just like reef on my hair and comb out all the sticky stuff from my hair. She watched my hair three times and there was still a little bit of sticky stuff on the very back. It was really hard to get it out, so that was super super annoying and definitely something that was not an issue with the hothead ones. This time around, when she put them back in, you, have to put more tape on them so that they'll free stick in your hair. So she used the hothead tapes that she normally uses on these. So we're hoping that the second time around they'll come out a lot easier because we are using the hotheads tape this time. So I'm hoping that that'll work out, because the tape that comes on the extensions is just way too sticky and hard to get out of the hair. The other convent something to be worried about. Is she tried to color the extensions, not these ones, but she ended up buying some herself to try them out. She got some blonde ones and she had to tone them her dye them to match, and they ended up just getting really like weird and like squishy and kind of like falling apart when she tried to dye them. So these ones we didn't have to dye didn't match my hair, so we just like put them in, but I don't know if it's just the blonde ones that were like that or if it's like all of them because, like I said we didn't have to dye These darker ones, so that's also something to be cautious about if you're gon na do the bomb base, because if you do try to dye them, who knows if that's really gon na work out for you, because it didn't for her? But overall, I just wanted to kind of make this quick little video and talk about my experience at the bomb bay. This is not sponsored or anything. I bought these with my own money. I just want to make this video and kind of share with you guys, because I didn't see a ton of reviews on YouTube regarding these brand of extensions. So I thought I would kind of share my experience and if you are looking for some extensions that are a little bit more budget-friendly compared to something like Bellamy or hotheads, I've been really happy with them. So far, I'm really hoping praying that this new tape is gon na make them all easier to take in and out. But if that's the worst of the problems with them, then I might just risk that and deal with it for the price of these. That'S all for this video. I hope you guys enjoyed. Thank you so much for watching. If you liked it don't forget to thumbs up and subscribe, and I will talk to you guys in my next video bye,
