This is going to change my whole style.. I can feel it in my fingers.. You ready, I think, so. Hi, I'm Gaby., I'm originally from London and I'm currently living in New York, and I work in production.. I'Ve always kind of used, my hair as a security. Blanket but I'm going through a lot of change in my life at the moment. In the last couple of years, my dad, unfortunately passed away and I've moved across a big ocean away from my family. With a new chapter comes a new haircut, so I'm super excited For this transformation. I have never cut or dyed my hair before.. When I was growing up my mom, wouldn't let me do anything to my hair.. She always just wanted it to be natural and as long as possible., I think she kind of took ownership over my hair.. She thinks that I'm very lucky to have long and thick hair, so she just never wanted me to do anything. Outrageous. Sorry Mom, I'm doing it now. So hopefully I don't get slapped. When I get home. Hi Mom., I'm getting a haircut., No don't be mad And I'll be seeing my mom very soon. So I hope she likes it. This one's for you, Mom. Hi Gaby, I'm Karen. I’ll be cutting your hair today.. Was there anything you had in mind, So I definitely want to get at least eight inches cut so that I can donate it. Okay. And then I was also thinking of maybe getting bangs.. Do you think that will suit me? I didn't want the bangs to kind of make me look a bit like a sheepdog. If all you could see was my mouth. In the middle, your bangs would be a little shorter. Yeah. And then, like you, said, gradually get a little longer.. So your bangs won't be covering your eyes too much.. I trust you.. So I'm going to go ahead and grab my things and start the precut. Okay Perfect. Thank you., You're welcome.. You ready, I think, so. There's no turning back.! Oh my god Ahhh. I do look like a sheepdog, No I'm joking, Okay, Gaby! So Jake is going to come over and do your color. I'll see you once that's done and we'll finish the haircut. Hi Gaby. How's it going Hi good. How are you Doing good., I'm Jake. Gaby pleasure to meet you. Nice to meet you.? What'S going on? What are we doing? What I'm thinking for the color and obviously I want you to give your opinion too, but I kind of want it to remain a similar color, because it goes with my eyes and my skin tone., I'm all about very sun-kissed looking hair. So I feel like if we created the sun-kissed version of your hair with the color that would bounce off of the haircut really nicely since you’re gon na have these pieces that come down.. So let's get started., I'm just gon na go grab some supplies really quick., We'll have a bunch of foils in your hair.. These are gon na, be all the lighter pieces that we want to see and then we'll gloss everything after to refine the tone and we'll be good. Okay. Thank you.. We'Re done with this step of the process. You'll, probably sit for about 20 minutes now. If you're good at that point, we'll go upstairs and get you glossed.. I look like the Tin Man. Jingle Bells jingle bells. Now you've just got these sun-kissed highlights throughout your hair and we kind of created those by doing somewhat of a balayage and a foil over at the shampoo bowl. When we had the gloss on you., We refined the tone to give it this more kind of like a lighter brown element.. Let me go grab Karen. She'll come over and do the cut and we'll finish up your look. So we'll clean up the length. Add some texture in there do the bangs do some internal layering too, that where we can kind of balance the density. Okay. Gon na just smooth your ends out, because we like it to be really straight. Sheepdog hair With a dry cut, we are able to refine The cut and really get to the spots that need work better.. So when it's dry, it's like everything is exactly how it's gon na be. Alrighty Gaby. Are you ready Yes.? That is crazy? What It's such a big difference, but I really like it.. Thank you guys. So much. Sorry that was so awkward. I look a bit like a rock star., I'm facetiming, my mom, so she can see it., Let's see what she says. Gab. You look amazing. I can’t This is too embarrassing. I can't. I'm sorry.. My mom seems to love it. So. And then I hung up on her.. This is exactly what I wanted haircut-wise. I love the color.. I love the shaggy texture to it., I mean the whole thing is amazing.. Now is the time in my life. That'S the perfect time to do this.. I love it., I'm so happy. ᔕEᖇEᑎᗪIᑭITY: AHH WHAT A COINCIDENCE! So later I’m going to get my hair cut (like actually cut, not just trimmed at the edges) for the first time since I was like 3! My hair is a bit longer than waist-length (about to the end of my butt), and very well kept. Which is surprising since I see most people with extremely long hair to have it with dead ends, but as long as they like it I have no right to say anything. I think my hair looks ‘nicer’ (use that term loosely) because I’ve been growing it out for much longer, and had it trimmed regularly. I’m crazy excited since I’m going to go from butt-length hair to a bit longer than shoulder length! I’m so torn on whether or not I should just go for it, but I’ve lived with this hair for way too long so I think it’s time. Just had to share this lol
