Hey guys Steven is Salonga here and today I've got a really exciting video for you all we're gon na be focusing on bangs. Today, I'm gon na show you a variety of different bang styles. You can have how to cut them, and this video is going to be bangin, haha cheesy, I know, but let's get started alright. So the first thing we're talking about is how to actually find where the sectioning should go for your bangs. Now everyone's face shape is different. You usually want to go to about the corner of the eye. You want this triangle to match, with the corner of the eye is, and how do you go about doing that? Well, it's really simple. It'S kind of like finding your natural part if you comb the hair down this way, and you push up like this see what happens. The hair, splits and bam. There'S your parting right there. So that's how you find your natural part for your bangs and the area of where to cut them. Okay, so now we're gon na create a triangular section and the first bang look. We'Re going to do is going to be more of a sweeping fringe. So this is, this is definitely great for somebody who wants more of that modern edgy kind of nice flowing fringe area or bang and how we're gon na do this. Is I like to leave it a little bit longer so we're gon na comb this straight down and, as you can see, we're taking all in one section, we're gon na comb this straight down like this and we're cutting, probably just about to the bridge of the Nose right in through here, just like this right here, we're gon na lay our hips our fingers against the bridge of the nose and we're gon na cut straight across. Take this straight down, lock your finger in again and we're cutting straight across. Do not do any angling up or anything we're literally cutting a straight line just like that, as you can see here, okay, so now that we have this done, what we're going to do is we're now going to create these sweeping part of this, and this is My favorite part, so how we gon na do this. What we're gon na do is going to come in through the corner here and look see that corner right in through here. What we're gon na do is we're going to angle our fingers upwards and we're gon na cut that corner off, like that. We'Re gon na cut that corner off so that this cuts upwards. This way, and now, let's do this on this side as well. We'Re gon na comb this straight down and if you hold your finger straight, look you're gon na see that corner so we're gon na do. Is we're going to cut this corner off and create a rounded shape right in through here and that's what we're looking for. So now the front area and the bangs come to a point right here in the middle, which is what you want, so it's shorter and shorter. What happens is the reason it doesn't sweep over is because that corner is preventing it from sweeping over. So when you remove that corner, it actually removes all the weight. So now the next part of this technique is we're going to comb this hair straight up. Now, I'm standing directly across from this section right here. So what we do is we're going to comb everything straight up and let that fall, there's the weight and we're going to cut and remove that weight right. On top of that section, we're going to over direct back to this other side to the same side. Here we're over directing and removing that weight, we're over directing and pulling all the hair to this one side over here and we're simply removing that weight that layer now. What we're gon na do is we're going to come on the other side now, and we do the same thing that we just did, but now on this side, pulling the hair straight up. There'S that corner right there on top, which the weight is, what we need to remove and we're going to take this all in one section here and we're gon na do the same exact thing: there's the weight right there that needs to be cut there. It is, and now what I like to do is just take everything straight up right here in the middle comb. It straight up. You should see a nice little point there and we're just going to touch that up and now what we've done is: we've created a gorgeous, sweeping bang and the magic about what we just did here. This allows us to sweep the hair in both directions. So watch this see how that beautifully sweeps over this way, because we removed that weight in through here remove that weight and look it sweeps over beautifully. Now we can go over on this side as well we're gon na comb, this same exact thing and look. You'Ve got that gorgeous sweeping bang. It starts off here and sweeps right over alright. So next we're going to do a straight blunt bang, and this is going to be for somebody who wants a little bit heavier and all we're gon na do is we're going to take our shear we're gon na lift our comb underneath we're gon na push the Hair down we're gon na lock the comb in to exactly where we want to cut it so we're at just about the eyebrow. Now we're not going to use our hands, we're simply using the comb as our guide and we're cutting everything straight across, and we have a perfect blunt straight bang, which is perfect for that person. Who wants something a little bit heavier and last but not least, we're going to create a textured fringe or bang and how we do that is you want to remove weight first, okay, so let's comb this hair straight up this way and what we're going to do Is we're gon na remove any of any excess weight on top, so we're simply layering the this whole area right in through here we're layering it and we're removing weight, so it has more shape to it and then what we're going to do is we're going to Go in and then create a more PC choppy fringe, and how do we do that? Well, there's a variety of ways you can do that. I like to use thinning shears to create this sort of look and what we're gon na do is we're going to actually take the hair like this into a little like, like almost like a chunk right here and we're going to chop the ends like that, we're Going to soften the ends to where we're moving a lot of late, we're not gon na. Do it right up here, but we're gon na. Do it more towards the bottom in through here, which is going to shatter up the length on the bottom? So it's not so heavy, then you can go in like this if you want and do it just on the ends and again what that's doing it's creating a softer, more textured PC. Look as you can see here, it's removing that solid heavy line. This is great for somebody who wants a really really PC edgy kind of fringe. Now you can come in through the top like this and point cuts with the thinning shears, and I like doing this also because it creates a nice soft edgy, really PC look and it's really really looking great now. Another thing you can do is you can take your sheers and you can let's turn the head this way, so you can see what we're gon na do is we're going to slide cut and we're going to remove the weight like that, and here you can hold The hair pinch it and you can slide down okay, let's come in on this side here, so you can see we're going to hold the hair like this and we're going to slide down, hold the hair and we're gon na slide down, mostly throughout the ends, because We want the hair to be more shadow towards the ends, not up here. Remember if you shadow it up here, you're going to start to sit out the thickness up here. What you're looking to do is to shatter it more throughout the ends, and this is how you create a textured PC French. Well guys, thank you so much for watching. I hope you enjoyed this video, don't forget to Like comment and also subscribe and I'll see you guys next time for more videos with ass long guys.

Kelsea Williams: 90% of the people watching this are having a mental breakdown in their bathroom *myself included*

chonky: I'm watching this during self isolation of corona on the verge of cutting my own bangs

willo bea: Me: just grew out bangs Also me: “I want bangs! ” Edit: I cut bangs

gaia rukiye: *watches 3 million times to make sure i do it correctly*

Agata Kurowska: No one: Me: Cutting my bangs in quarantine so no one will see how much of a failure it was

liv fowler: I'm sitting in my bathroom wanting to impulsively cut bangs

Jay Whyte: Thank you so much. I have seldom been happy with hairdressers' cutting my fringe, but after watching your tutorial I cut my own fringe and I'm over the moon! :) Getting bangs right is absolutely crucial and makes a huge difference to one's face ~ happy sigh ~

brooklyn bloom: I’ve been cutting my bangs wrong for years! Best tutorial ever, my bangs now look awesome.

Jenny S.: I know all these methods yet never learned them, I just know! Layered my mother’s hair beautifully when I was eleven. Always cut my own hair and my kids’ hair. I wanted to thank you for the instructional video because it’s given me more confidence that I’m doing it right. What I’m not so great at are waves/curls. Could you do a tutorial on those, as well?

Empress Lithia: This was hard to do to myself, especially parting the bangs from the hair. It didn't help that all I had was a pair of blunt brow trimmers and a hairbrush, but now I look super cute and the envy of all my friends! Thanks for this vid x

BiologicalClock: That does it. I'm cutting my own bangs like this from now on. I've gone to five different stylists in the past year and nobody is able to cut them right. (Before anyone freaks out I've cut my own bangs before and they looked fine, the technique just wasn't as good as this.)

lois lane.: im never gonna trust myself with my hair but im still watching because it's so cool.

Araceli Vargas: YES!!!!! FINALLY A True Expert that I could follow step by step easy side swept bangs. I have tried to do it thru other you tubers and quiet frankly they were not experts and probably following other videos. Thank you, Thank you so much I tried it and it came out the way I always wanted my bangs. Just in time for my sister's 50th Birthday party tomorrow.

Monster Butters: Every time my bangs are due for a trim, I come back to this video. It's straight forward, we'll lit, and very easy to follow. Thank you for this great little tutorial! God bless!

Roberta Worley: I've watched many hair dressers cut my hair over the years. So I know what I was looking for even tho I didn't know the exact technique and why. You spelled it out very clearly. I took the Nestea Iced Tea plunge and cut my bang/fringe. I was relatively happy, so I made myself stop. When they grow out, I'll review your vid again. Suffice it to say, I'm very very happy with my current results. You have the teaching technique down. Many who have done 'pro fringe cut' vids are pros in their own view only. They could stand to learn a lot from you! Thank you SO much for posting this tutorial!

Karen Younger: Im impressed! You seem to know the right ways to create the look, rather than doing your thing and saying thats what i want....the golden rule of hair styling.

Serene J: I did this and it worked! Makes a MAJOR difference! I combed my hair straight up and removed all the "weight" that stuck out and the results are incredible! I LOVE it. And I did it at home! Thanks a million Salonguy! Oh and I didn't even use thinning scissors like you did at the end. Just removing the "weight" that you said...the results are great!

Michelle R Jackson: Oops. I always, as a cosmetologist/ makeup artist appreciate your way of showing your expertise. Been awhile, and "checking" you out again. Thank you!

Tiffany Dawn: This saved my awful bangs..lol. I cut my bangs the other day (tried to do straight across blunt), and man did they turn out awfullll. Watched this, and recut them evenly, using the comb method, thinned them out with some sheers I had, and now they look 100% better! Thankful I seen this video, lol.

Pri Correia: Love it!! Please do more step-by-step videos like that, it's SO helpful!!!

Kim P: Amazing! Thank you so much! I did this myself and am very happy! Even my stylist can't make ny bangs look this good

Maggie G.: Beautiful demo! Thank you so much for posting & sharing your expertise! ✂️

Diana West: Really clear and fantastic tutorial on cutting bangs...wish I had seen this before I cut mine!! Thanks so much SalonGuy...your the best!! ☺️‼️

Sharon Licht-Taylor: You did a great job explaining the resons why and how. I feel confident that I can cut my bangs now. Thank you!

Tracy Ferguson: Finally, a video that makes it easier to understand how to get my bangs to look better in between salon visits! Thank you for the easy to understand tutorial

ghouliezhoulie: This video was so helpful! Your explanations and tips were easy to understand. I loved the trick about finding the parts for your bangs. That has historically always been where I mess up. Now I've got bangs that can be swept to both sides and lay naturally. You're the best!

Caroline Kihlstrom: How many years have you been cutting hair ? I absolutely love your techniques. You're very artistic and I love how you are so confident with those shears. The lady that cut my bangs cut them straight across and they look horrible. I have curly hair, so after they dried......well, they kinda frizzed up and eventually disappeared...I'm unsatisfied, but nothing I can do now but just never, never, never go back to her.

Amy P: This is very informative.  I wondered how that was done.  My hair is poker straight and I like the soft wispy bangs.  This will greatly help since my bangs grow so fast.

TMY rose: I just watch a video on how to fringe my bangs by Adriana Braje. My daughter had cut my bangs a few days ago by gathering them all together and then twisted them all together then she cut the ends off then she combed them and they were so crooked but she then cut them trying to make them straight but they still didn't look right. So I followed the steps Adriana showed and cut them myself and they turned out great.I do love how you show the different ways to cut bangs and you show how simple it is do each style. When my bangs need to be cut again I will come back and watch your video and try your steps because I do like to switch different styles on my bangs.I have a large forehead and need bangs to hide it.Thanks for sharing your video.

Ankita Singh: Finally managed to cut my bangs exactly the way I like!! Can't thank The Salon Guy enough. Never came across a better bang cutting tutorial

Paige Traynor: This video really helped my mom and I to cut my bangs, thank you so much I absolutely love them!

Cristina Martinez: This was sooo helpful lol. I literally cut my bangs after watching this... and they came out really cute!

Stephanie Mae Langga: Thank you for your tutorial!! It was really helpful and also made me appreciate hairstylists waaaay more~

Leanne Lawrence: This worked AMAZING. Especially the fringe bangs. Thank you so much!!!

라나 Lana: Great video and so easy to follow!. I just did the first cut. ( I have curly hair, straightened the fringe to be able to cut them while dry). I'll get back with the result after showering. Really excited, thanks for sharing!

sarna.official: I already used your tutorial to layered my hair and it went amazing! Now I need curtains hehehe

Iphigenia: The best bang tutorial on YouTube by far. People were asking how I got my hair cut when all the salons are still shut down. When I said I followed a YouTube video they didn't believe me. Thank you so much!

Simply Esther: Awesome!! Was itching to cut bangs again and did it tonight with your tutorial. Came out awesome!! ❤️❤️❤️

Persuasive Speech Examples by College Students: Thanks, Salon Guy! I just trimmed my teen daughter's bangs using your advice and they turned out great! You da best!

Hoydogge: I got my bangs cut almost a year ago (by a salon) and my hair has been in protective styles since and grew way more than I expected...now I have to trust my mom to do it

Fatema Alhajeri: Thank you for the tutorial, I followed the steps and it turned out great. Very impressive

Brittany Robinson: Hey! I loved this video! I’m thinking of doing the blunt bangs/with that fringe effect to thin and texturize. How would I ask a hairstylist do this this? I’ve gone to some hairstylist and asked this and it didn’t turn out what I wanted. Thank you!

Nancy Papadopoulos: This is the best video ever! I've cut my bangs twice with this and they come out amazing!

Georgia Worth: OMG I have had bangs all my life and they always looked too thick and just wrong, no matter who cut them. I just followed the first method and they look fantastic!

Lisa L: Loved this video thank you sooo much for sharing all those tips

Mellisa Khat: I would love to see you do more videos on curly hair

M M: Great tutorial, clear and concise. Thanks for the great information

El pequeño mundo de SamÜ MacGregan: so much talent to cut so fast and perfect ! good job bro! thanks so much for teach us !

Annie Jain: Thank you sir. Because of uh i was able to give an amaxing haircut to my little sister in this lockdown and her happiness was above everything. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! This video was very easy to understand and helpful.

Shannon Currie: Love this! Can’t wait to try this out on a client. ‍♀️

DRICA PIRES: Eu corto a minha na diagonal, pois dá um caimento melhor. Obrigada por compartilhar.

Shahrzad Modiri: Thank you so much. You explained it so perfectly. Thank you.

StrivingFor Mindfulness: Ok, well done. Now, I need the video tutorial for bangs that are worn to the left of my natural right-side part (lines up w/ the inner edge of my right eyebrow), to allow a cowlick at my natural part to grow long to the right of my part so it's more cooperative with the rest of my hair, because that cowlick doesn't cooperate with the rest of my bangs when the cowlick is short. Not side-swept bangs, either. Straight-across, like the 3rd example (blunt, then textured), just not ALL the way across my forehead.

Martha G.: I once trimmed my bangs before going to my haircut appointment, because I figured I'd save the stylist some time. When I got there, she asked me: "Who did this to you?" I haven't had bangs in about three years, but I'm considering getting them. This video would be useful!

Matty Green: i cut my hair at a salon yesterday and she cut my bangs so badly she didnt even do a triangle just like a line straight across my forhead i tried to tell her how i wanted it but i gave up. also myhair looks really bad like when u cut your barbies hair as a kid she literally just cut it off

Lucila Diaz: I just did my bangs right along with this video and it actually came out pretty good..thanks

Bell Guts: Perfect! Every time I go to the salon and ask for a bank trim, they lawyer my hair off all over, shave my neck, thin it with thinning shears and run I my entire hair. It takes me at least a year to grow it back out and I try to find a new hairdresser. So frustrating. Now I can cut it myself and save money to boot.

mz JaXx: I generally use a more curved parting than a triangle parting like you used. Is there a difference between the two or would your way work better for me? My clients haven't had a problem with the way I do it but anytime I can up my hair skills, I'm willing to change the way I do things.

madison vang: legend says the customer(the mannequin) still isn't smiling till this day

Deborah Smith: Hello. Great job and instruction! But can this also be done on hair with texture, either wavy or curly and with the bob hairstyle?

Lizzie Thornton: Very clearly explained, very helpful

Patty McEntire: You are amazing! Thank you for all the work you put into your videos.

Susan S.: After receiving an unwanted and unexpected pixie cut over the summer I am too scared to have any one touch my hair again. I just trimmed my own bangs and I am very happy. It's really not hard to do it yourself.

Al Gaia: I believe ill have to watch this a lot more until ill be confident i can do it like you did-- i dont trust the local salons near me ;n; wish there was someone like you nearby who could properly give me good bangs

Amelia Earhart: here’s another tip, the smaller the triangle, the more piecey the bang. ur bangs might not naturally part there but i personally don’t like a thick bang because it breaks up the face. i am a licensed cosmetologist but it’s just another idea because i gave my mannequin bangs and the thinner bang is much more flattering on her. also, don’t use a curling iron on your bangs unless if it’s a two inch with a clamp. if you don’t have one, you can use a round brush. wavy hair is generally the best for bangs because it makes that round shape easier than curly or straight hair will without styling. i’m not saying that people with curly hair or straight hair need to style their bangs a certain way, it’s just what i personally like. always cut your bangs longer than anticipated because they can shrink up. curly hair shrinks up about an inch to two inches for caucasian curls and african american curls are probably best to be cut dry as they shrink up much more typically. keep that in mind no matter your hair texture though.

Maribel Lamas: Beautiful job and well explained I love it

Adriana lynn: You know...I always go on here and compare everyones technique bc Reality is everyone has their "own way" but I guess I'm more open minded and really enjoy trying new techniques sooo just wanna say I absolutely love this video and the way you get into detail *(soo many you tubers always skimm WAAAY too fast during videos like these and always seem to leave out details/reasons why etc) sooo yehhh* figured I'd give u some dabs for actually doing a kickassjob! Oh and Also** These results are pretty badass too !!

X Y: This works really well for me. Thank you so much.

Rika Candra: This is what I've been looking for , thank you salon guy

mars: This helped so much!!!!! I have bangs that look like a mustache bc of the way the shwooshes up on the side but after i followed this tutorial my bs aree FLAWLESSS‍♀️‍♀️

Monique Zanetta: I would love you to do my bangs, the end version is perfect for what I want. Why can't hairdressers do bangs like this? They always cut it short and crooked. You are a pro. Let's see if I can do MY bangs the way you just did. Thanks

Griselda Espinoza: I love this super easy tutorial. If I want a more thicker fringe should i make a wider triangle or go a little far back in the point?

Replicant7: Useful. Thank you for showing me how to cut niece's bangs!

Halvanya: Fantastic - so informative and articulated!

I don’t exists Any ore: I’m gonna cut my bangs tomorrow while it’s my moms day off and my dad is working tomorrow and so imma cut it without my moms permission and I’ll keep you updated. Hopefully I don’t get my ass beat

C&M Punk: Thanks for this video. I need bangs like this to cover my forehead lol

leefi1: One of my college friends (6'4', red hair, 300 pounds and very theatrical) was given a hair salon by his lovely and well intentioned parents. He was cutting a clients bangs, combed them down over her face and with a grand flourish snipped off the tip of her nose along with the hair. He shrieked a little, ran out of the door and never came back to the shop!

Connie Greer Smith: Thanks so much for the great instruction!

Akila Mel: Hi the Salon Guy, although I'm not an expert, i find your video so inspirational and instructive. Finally i got my bangs cut thanks to your video. Thank you, you've got a fan from Algeria.

Megadeth3911: You helped me cut my daughters bangs properly. praise ya for this vid!

Mountain Girl: That was very educational! Thank you!

aram83: How do you get your hair to stop parting so you can actually have bangs w/o them starting to sweep to the side again a day or two later? I want bangs because I have a long face but my "bangs" just sweep over later and are thin.

John Redcorn: Nice clear instructions, thank you!

TimelordUK: This word will always make me laugh. We call it the fringe in the UK. Bangs just sounds so funny to me

beverley paul: Do bangs/fringes always have to be cut in a triangle at parting like your video or can they be cut straight across the hair line ?

Nhung Crosbie: Thank you for the great lesson!

Five Lying Bitches: Using the comb like that is a game changer! Thank you.

Lis Tenorio: Great video, thanks for sharing your knowledge!!!

Tanvi Khare: I wanted to get bangs last year but the salon guy said it wouldn't look good and didn't do it! In Feb my mom finally agreed to take me to a different salon to get bangs but then this pandemic So now I'm going to take things in my own hands... Mom can't do anything once it's done right.....

Vanessa Fuentes: Used your tutorial, came out pretty nice :D thanks!

Moonchild Galaxy: I love this very much!!! ♥️ Thank you Mr~Salon~Guy

Milly-Mae: My hair throughout my life...cuts own frindge regrets it...grows it out x100...Me today watching this video...Well I think I've learnt this time, I'm feeling skillful...let's have another attempt at the blunt style

bert berty: Thank you so much!! This is something I've been having trouble with at work!! Liked and shared

szczawnica1: Thank you. Great, that's what I need to recut and thinner my fringe

maddelke7: Last night I cut my bangs and it turned out well! Thank you!
