How I Cut My Bangs // Wispy + Straight Across

Hey everyone today, I or tonight I decided that I'm going to cut straight across bangs wispy straight across bangs in my hair. So I get the gist of how to cut bangs and I used to cut my best friend, Jamie's hair back in high school. A few years ago - and I would also give myself trims um, so I'm pretty confident and I'll go it'll turn out well, but I don't think I'm going to trim my hair, I'm just going to do the bangs. I just want change in my life. You know. I just this hair has been the same for about 3 months and that's way too long for me. So I'm going to be cutting my bangs myself. So don't just go ahead and cut your bangs using some kitchen scissors go out and purchase some real sheers, because it'll make a huge difference, and these are. I don't know why the heck I bought such big scissors, because you know obviously, but typically they're. Not this large, but these are ones that I got my uncle's a hair stylist. So I kind of get this you're only supposed to move your thumb when you're cutting. So hopefully I can maintain that rhythm while doing my own hair, but yeah um. I was inspired by Olivia Wilde's bangs I'll show you the picture. So this is my inspiration picture, Olivia Wilde at the Golden Globes she's gorgeous, and I want that sort of wispy thing. Look originally I'ma be honest here. My original inspiration was ariana grande, but her bangs are a little too thick and blunt for my liking. I want it more wispy and light um yah, so I think I'm just going to get started right in, but what you'll need is a salon clip like this. So that you can separate your hair or a hair tie works fine as well um. You will need a hairbrush, a round brush a hair, dryer and a comb. So firstly, I'm just going to separate my hair down the middle, like so: Oh Koster, okay, mmm-hmm. So just determine how thick you want your bangs, I don't want mine to be too thick, so I'm just gon na my guesstimate all right. Let'S see how thick this is going to be and the trick with cutting hair is you always want to leave some wiggle room rather than cutting too much at first? Obviously, all right. That seems like a good thickness for me. You want to determine if you want like side pieces like this. I do because I think it'll look cute with the ponytail. I'M just going to go ahead and cut this section. If I want it to be thicker, I can always add more. So we don't want to go too crazy at first and I'm also cutting my hair dry, because if you cut your hair wet it'll, obviously the length will change once it dries. And I don't want to risk cutting too much off and then having it dry and be like super short all right, I'm going to cut it at my nose first, oh my god, yoni, Oh also, although I'm standing on a towel right now, so that it'll be Really easy to clean up. My parents are, like dogs grew up mmm I'll. Try not to here goes so you also want to cut upwards so that it doesn't look like too blunt and straight across. So you want that. Wispy look hashtag brave! Oh my god! Oh all right so now we're going to go shorter and we're gon na just cut the centerpiece first now my fingers are at my eyebrows, and so I'm going to cut right along here and I'm going to cut it a little longer and necessary so that you Don'T screw up too terribly? Oh, my god cute. I love it already. Yah bangs, there's hair in my eyeball. Okay, now that we have this, you want to blend this with this. I don't know if I should call this video like how, because I'm not an expert I'll just name this video me cutting my bangs, see what happens wow, it's cute. I want it to be a little bit more fringy, so I'm going to take sort of a top layer like sooo. If you have like some shears that are like razor II, you could totally use that right. Now, okay cut and straight up, I'm gon na do the same thing over here: hi chic. That was me brushing all the hair off my stomach. I'M just going to kind of continue feathering going to continue to feather the ends. My grandma was a hair stylist. So I feel like it's in my blood cute. Ah so I'm going to blow dry my hair um by like flipping my bangs in and then that might change the length. So before I cut any further, I want to see how long it is when I blow dry it wow. I love it. Alright, here we go. I'Ve heard my item all right. The bangs are looking to curly see in they look away shorter, oh my god, so cute. I love, let's see with the hair down real genuine reactions here, people - oh my god. I love it. This is the change that I wanted. I could go a little shorter. What do you think shorter mmm? I'M gon na ask my mom what she thinks and I'll be back: okay, okay, so everyone likes them this length, so I'm not gon na cut them and I can also cut them later. My best friend says she's obsessed, oh my god, so cute. I feel like so vintage romantic vision for snapchat. I love it. I hope you guys like this video. Maybe it will inspire you to change up. Your hair doesn't have to be bangs, maybe the color or the cut. But if you do decide to cut your own hair and not go to hairstylist, just remember to buy your own scissors and to cut it longer than you think. It needs to be because I'm proof that I cut it longer than I thought it should be, and then I it turned out to be the perfect length so yeah. Thank you guys for watching and I'll see you.
