Julie Thuy Dang: Major tip for anyone that's tries this out, when you hold the part you want to cut and level it to your eyebrows, DO NOT pull your hair! Just hold it and cut! If you pull down your hair and cut it, it will come out shorter than you want it to be! I had a hairdresser do that mistake on me and had to wait ages for it to grow out

Katie Trinh: This inspired me to cut my own bangs and it went really well!! Trust me, it’s not too hard and so long as you’re very cautious and take you’re time, it will turn out very cute! I started watching videos and researching a week ahead of time and this is as much advice as I can give you if you want to cut your bangs! Make sure you’re cutting the right bangs for you!! Blunt, side swept, curly, wispy, there are many types of bangs so understand your hair type and your face before you grab the scissors. Realize that bangs are a commitment. You need to trim them regularly. Beauty is pain, and sometimes they can get annoying constantly being in your face. If you have oily skin ( like me ) your bangs can get oily so prepare for that. Be 100% of your triangle sliver of hair that you take out to cut your bangs if you’re going for wispy. Often, people overestimate how much bang they want so start with less if you’re scared and you can gradually make the triangle bigger and cut more, thus making your bangs thicker little by little. Make sure you have everything you need!! I made sure my surface that I working at was covered, I had scissors specialized for cutting hair, I had a curling iron already to style my hair once done ( as well as heat protectant spray ), and I had clips and ties to section my hair off in a cleaner, more organized way. CALM DOWN!! The more nervous you are, the shakier you’ll be and the more likely you’ll mess up. I called up some friends and had them comfort me and took a little bit of time to just breath and calm down. No matter what happens, it is temporary and your hair WILL grow out again so calm down. You’re cutting so little hair anyways! CUT LONGER THAN YOU WANT TO. I first cut to my nose, then cut up the TINIEST BIT and styled it. When your curl your bangs, they get shorter ( no duh ) so I made sure that even when they got shorter, they’re still long enough for my liking. Then I went back in and trimmed two to three times until I got to my desired length. When cutting the sides, grabs a reasonable amount of hair and just slowly snip down. Again, grab less than you need and slowly add more hair if you want more side hair. DON’T WORRY!! If you’re cutting wispy bangs, they’re super easy to cover! If you don’t like them, they’ll grow out eventually and you can just part it on the side and it won’t be noticeable assuming that you cut LITTLE HAIR as the term “wispy bangs” intends. Be confident in your new bangs! You look cute, boo. Don’t care about what anyone else has to say. I’m sure you look adorable, so rock them! If you’re extremely nervous, get some fake bangs and practice on those. If you’re broke and want to just see what you’d look like with bangs, you could attempt to pin a section of your hair back to mimic the look of bangs, but I couldn’t do that very well. I’d say wispy bangs are fairly easy to get, but any other bangs I’d suggest a professional. At least to get the shape, then once you get the shape trimming is super easy. Now good luck!! I decided to use my baby bangs and just straighten it and it worked just fine. Making the perfect curl was pretty hard tho because i don't have those curlers, after a few tries i got it right and it looked amazing! Hiding these bangs were also really easy, you could do a side part or even tuck it underneath your other hair. This was a very simply explained tutorial and it was really easy to do, even though this was my first time ever cutting my own bangs! Okay this is a big rant so bye bye!♡
