If you've ever had a bob or you've been thinking about getting a bob, this video is absolutely for you, because I'm gon na be sharing tips, tricks things that I've learned over 25 years that are gon na make sure you love your Bob, and the first thing Is to understand that hair is well a bit of an optical illusion thanks just that's right, man and Justin no worries, and my name is Justin by the way, if you're brand new to this channel thanks for coming and hanging out, if hair is an important thing To you, you want to make sure you hit that subscribe button hit that notification bill, so you don't miss out on every Tuesday when I bring out a brand new video. What I do is share tips things. I'Ve learned over the past 25 years that hopefully will make your hair a whole lot easier for you. I think it will and today we're talking about Bob's, I'm sure somewhere the important stuff with you. So let's step in and get to talking, okay. So, let's just head in back in my office and we'll talk about Bob's now. First of all, we have to understand, there's basically like three major categories when you're talking about a bob that make a huge difference and that's essentially how I'm gon na cover this today. We'Re gon na break it down into length we're gon na break it down into hair line and hair texture now length really talks about length and the angle of the cut and what's important about that. Hair line talks about your hair line and how that actually impacts. The overall cut, as well as the overall texture, is going to play a huge role in what kind of bob shape is gon na make probably the most sense for you. So I'm also at the very end, you're not gon na want to miss. I'M gon na share a little tip on styling that I don't really think people understand and a lot of stylists forget to share and it makes a really big difference so you're. Definitely not gon na want to miss that, but first things. First, let's jump in and start talking about, hair length and angle and how it impacts your overall cut. Okay, so, first of all understand when I get into this, that these are all kind of rules or if you would say just things to think about, there are also rules that can be broken. You just need to add this knowledge, because it's going to help you make a better decision now. First of all, when we're talking about length and angle, we need to think about face shape first, for instance, if you've got a very round face, and that concerns you putting a bob line right in your chin is just gon na make it look more round. So we want to make sure that the length in the front is doing what we want for our face shape if you've got a longer face and you leave your length longer than the chin. It'S gon na actually elongate your face more. So, keeping that in mind is gon na be a big deal. We also want to think about the angle. I'M gon na use this little my little model here, she's gon na - be my model today. So if you look at her face shape, what you're gon na see is that, just like all of us, the jawline actually isn't parallel to the floor, the cheekbone structure isn't parallel to the floor. It'S actually elevated right. It'S angular! It lists back up. If we want to follow that line, it's going to do a lot to help bring your eye up now. One of the things we want to think about when we're talking about length is the log right. If you don't know what a lob is, it's basically a long bob now, usually that means that these Bob's are hanging in somewhere around the collarbone length right, they're hanging in a little bit longer than up off of the shoulders or the traps. Here'S the concern with that, if your hair sits right at your traps and you're trying to get it to lay flat or go all under it's going to grow up pretty quickly and when it does, it has the potential to start flipping out right back here on The sides not to say that lobs don't look great, not to say that that length isn't good and not to say that you can't get it to lay under just to say. Keep that in mind. Because if that's gon na bother you, it may be a length where you want to bring that up off of your traps a little bit and give yourself a little extra time before it touches those and starts to flip out. Okay. So one more thing when you're thinking about angles right how much this angles on the side, the angle doesn't start back here in the Nate in the center. It actually starts right behind the ears. If you try to angle that from the center of the neck, you're gon na end up with this V in the back, it's not to say that you can't push that angle, starting back a little bit behind ears, your it towards the center a little bit more. But just know that, typically speaking, an angle will start right at the behind of the ear. So if you do want that to be a dramatic angle, you want the front to be really long. It going to have the potential of going straight and then looking kind of like these dog ears that just hang there, nothing that's a bad thing. Some people might find that really cool. But if that's not the look that you're going for just understand it, how high you take the back? How long you leave the front and that angle can create that or not create that? Okay, so let's jump into hair lines, hair lines play a big role in what kind of bobs are gon na work best for you. So one thing to think about is your hair line. If it's, let's say, for instance, if you've got a really high hairline and your hair's on the finer, thinner, side, right or even medium, fine side, the longer you leave this from the hairline, the less it's gon na support a layering like a bevel style layering, because It means that the ends are gon na, have a tendency to get a little bit thinner and not support that as much on thicker hair. That'S not really gon na be an issue because thick hair is so dense. It'S gon na be able to support that kind of layers. You can get away with a little bit more on that and it'll end up having that nice bevel. So if you do want the back of your bob to be a little bit more beveled, you want to bring that up a little closer to that neckline. We also want to pay attention to the hairline above the ears right in here. There'S a lot more hair. Follicles from here to here than there are in this little section right here and what that means is, if you layer that too much it can get very piecey and very thin. It won't give you that really nice strong angle Bob, if that strong bob is what you're going for now. On the other hand, if your hair is thicker or wavy or curly, you may want to get in there and layer that a bit more hair, that's thicker or hair. That'S wavy will have a tendency to grow out, not down right. It starts to compound on itself and get wider and fuller, so alleviating some of that bullet through layering on the sides, will make a big difference and allow you a shape. That may be more of what you're looking for and now. That kind of brings me into the idea of hair texture. Here'S why hair texture is important, and it's important thing to think about when you're talking about bob shapes a lot of people, especially when you're talking about thinner finer hair, are very concerned about doing layering. It can be kind of overwhelming you're afraid that you're gon na all of a sudden take all your hair away. You got this hair, you don't have very much. The last thing you want is to feel like you have less here's. The thing layering is done correctly. You can be honestly your best friend, especially when you're talking about shapes like Bob's. It can be a great way to give your hair movement to give your hair volume and to give your hair a little bit more of a style to it. Now, on the flip side, when we're talking about thicker, hair or curly hair in your situation, I would only say I recommend most people do some layering, especially if you've got something coming in near your chin area. They can have a tendency on thick and curly hair to get very wide and what that'll do is create this kind of triangular shape. That really starts to bring the eye down. More importantly, it adds a lot of width, so alleviating the boat through the sides allows it to lift the top up and that many times can be the difference between a bob that you love and a bob that maybe you don't like as much okay. So, like I said, I want to share a tip with you and then, by the way, you're not gon na want to miss the very end of this. I'Ve got a very special announcement to share so stick with me, so when it comes to styling one thing that I hear a lot is: I can't get the ends to look as polished as I want them. They roll under too much here's the thing I love round brushes, I don't think there's any problem with using a round brush, but if you're gon na use a round brush, you just have to be aware that you don't put too much Bend on the ends. You want to make sure that you get bend but realistically you're looking for Bend, not curl at that bottom. So just give yourself a bend now a little trick, if you especially if you feel like you've, got too much fullness on the sides and you're straightening. Your hair flat irons are your best friend keeping in mind now. If you haven't watched my video on how to flat iron hair, there's a playlist style tips at home, I'm gon na link. It right here watch that, because the body mechanics is gon na play a huge role here. It'S probably the largest part of this whole tip so pay attention to this, but giving yourself the flat iron, giving yourself just enough Bend but not to curl at the ends is gon na give those ends a crisp. Look. A more defined look, a very long edge that is really appealing on a Bob shape that can only be created by a flatiron and even if you just butter in the very bottoms - and you don't want to fight on everything else, but just the sides lines right. There, if you're gon na wear a strong bob, it is hands-down one of my favorite things to do with clients. Okay, so my special surprise, here's the deal when I started this YouTube channel. I honestly didn't ever really think about growing it to be this big. It'S really started to take off and it's not because of me it's 100 % because of you guys, you're. My people, my community and all of the growth, is because you're taking a chance on me, and so I don't ever ever ever want to come across like that is not so appreciated because it is, it does not fall on deaf ears with me. I so appreciate you. If you have any questions about Bob's or anything comment below, let me know otherwise, you have a fantastic. We will see you next Tuesday in the next video bye.

Justin Hickox: Thanks for checking out my video! Comment below if you saw my special announcement at the end of the video!!!! Can’t wait to see who wins the special give away!!!!!

Viva Y: I wish all hairstylists knows this. It is really hard to find a stylist who is knowledgeable on the hair tips you are sharing on your videos.

Tallis In Wonderland: I think the key phrase here is “Layering, when done correctly.” So many hairdressers seem to struggle with this. I have super thick hair and I ask for layering and thinning out but they only thin it on the ends so it then looks thick on top and wispy on the ends.

jmsnyc1961: Great job yet again. I particularly love your intro on this video! As a woman with fine, straight hair, I learned a lot and you're 100% on target when it comes to layers. Whenever I hear the word layers, I think "But, but... my hair is straight, fine and thin, you must be crazy!". But --- now that you've given them the blessing, you know I'll be telling my stylist "My friend Justin said..." Seriously, congratulations on the channel growing and all of your success. 5 of my friends recently subscribed and I can't help but hear the commercial in my mind (I think it was for a hair care product in fact) ... "And they tell 2 friends, and so on, and so on". So, keep up the great work Justin! You are 1 multi talented man! - Judy

Michele Pohl: I'm watching this a year later and it looks like you're well past 20, 000 subscribers. Congratulations! Bobs seem to be my go to hairstyle. I had a bob in my 69 graduation photo (although they weren't called bobs back then)and have had every style in between and now here I am at 69 with a bob.

marysharvey: I have stick straight fine hair, and the Bob was made for my kind of hair. The hard part, is finding a stylist who knows how to do a bob correctly. I wish you were my hairdresser!!

Terrie Haylock: You are brilliant. I'm 62, had a hundred different hairstylists over time, YOU are spot on with everything you say, no other stylist ever imparted the skilled knowledge you do. Genius ! Love the ink too ❤

Nancy Ford: Thank you so much for answering so many questions about hair! You ask what I (we) want to know but we don't know how to ask, your experience and talent is so appreciated. I never knew how to tell my stylist what I wanted and since watching your videos I have more confidence and the correct wording to describe what I want correctly. I am 72 yrs. young and am so happy to have found you. I look forward to watching and learning all you generously share. Stay safe and well!

2922 1117: Thank you so much for making this video!! And for sharing your wealth of knowledge and experience as a stylist. You not only shared your 30yrs of expert advice but you are educating us on how to properly take care of our hair. I was wondering if you can make a video to talk to us about style of hair cuts for the different age groups (I currently have long straight hair and want to make a change and go for a bob (above the shoulder)..but still researching the pros/cons before taking this big step so I would appreciate some information. Thank you and keep up your great work with your videos!!!

Tressa Marie: Love this! I have been having the hardest time recreating an AMAZING bob haircut I got a few years ago. I didn’t know how to describe what she did (and she moved away ) and every other stylist messes it up and I end up hating the cut. This video gave me the terminology and knowledge to ask for exactly the cut I want. THANK YOU!

Doris Beers: Great information ❤️. I absolutely love the bob. I have my hair in a short bob. It is not easy to find a hairdresser that can cut the hair into a bob style. I think some hairdressers are afraid of the bob; I think it is a difficult cut because of the angles, layering and precision. So glad I found you ❤️

Marilyn McKenzie: Thanks for your wonderful, helpful video. My angled bob has grown so long during the pandemic and flips up on my shoulders like you said it would. I need to get a shorter Bob again. I will tell my hairdresser to thin out the bottoms only as my hair is quite thick! That makes sense! I don’t want it sticking out on the bottom. My face is slightly round, but I have high cheekbones and have lost nearly 30 lbs since Jan/21, so I think I know what length to have it cut to now. Thanks again. Great tips! Greetings

Carol Wright: I really like the way you explain things in a way that's easy to understand! Great information and always fun to watch! :)

christy peck: Great comprhensive advice! I went to the salon for the first time in a year (covid concerns) and it was a disaster. Hoping to find a bob (and a stylist who knows what they're doing!) that will work for us older gals. Subscibed.

Shelley Carlson: Love this video as I am growing my layered hair to a bob. Now I realize layers are still needed (I didn't know that!). I love this channel and your passion.

Kathy Hussey: I started watching your videos a few days ago and I'm telling you, sir, I've been in such a hair slump funk for nearly 3 years now, since age 56. Many low blows of life (my husband died in 2010 at 49 in his sleep, after 27 years together,. then 11 people I loved died in the next few years, also had to fight the IRS for my house for years, went through a lot)....had me so down I just could not care anymore and I'd always been very attentive to my self care. It just grew longer and longer until nearly to my waist but was so thin at the ends I could not do anything with it, it wouldn't hold any style so... a hair clip or braid became my daily hair uniform and I looked 80 instead of 59. Today I whacked it off at the shoulders like I had it years ago...and it feels amazing !! Your videos inspired me to do it. Thank you for helping me remember that it really does matter how your hair looks because it affects how you feel about yourself, you are so right !!

Carma Daria Companiona: Great videos!!!! Thanks! You really are knowledgeable and have a great sense as to what looks good. I have a round face (I think) and wear my hair in a bob with bangs (that I will be better able to trim myself thanks to your bangs video). I'm wondering where my bob should 'end' (i.e., how long it should/should not be, for example, line up with my jaw bone). Although maybe it's a question of proper layering....

Paula Lane: You rock Justin! Thank you so much for this!!! I moved to a new home and have been through 3 stylists already. They don't know what they are doing! My hair is fine and board straight but not thin. When I want a Bob they layer the thicker side and leave the thin side of part all one length. Ugh!!! Now I'm armed to find a new stylist!

Joyce Smith: I’m so glad I subscribed to your channel bc your videos are amazing! You always explain in depth & I’ve learned a lot from you! Btw I’ve been a hairdresser for over 20 years & learning new tips are Great! I’m wearing a chin length bob now with very fine hair with some layering. I was actually thinking about letting it grow out to 1 length except for side bang & get it under cut!? Thoughts? I’m sure you’ll have no problem reaching your goal! I’ll be looking forward to your next video!

Lorena M.L.: A shout out to hairdressers :please watch this video! There are so many hairdressers out there that do not know how to cut a proper bob. The bob has been my favorito haircut since my teen years ( yes I’ve worn the shaggy cut, perm, pixie etc as they were in fashion ) but always come back to a bob with a side swept fringe ~ it suits my thickish straight hair and I get many compliments when it’s cut well. A simple but stylish look. Just hate it when when I end up with a triangle looking bob or an out flicking wispy ends! Great videos, hello from down under

Felicity Hill: Definitely my go to hair channel. Love the DIY styling hints and tips. Thanks for your efforts. ‍♀️

jeanne Mcmenamy: Always enjoy your videos and all your great tips. I have had the mom bob on and off since the 80's.... Long bobs.....short bobs ...bangs/ no bangs...and even a few of those bad bobs...right now during covid, my bob has almost grown into scary cat lady hair! And I do not even own a cat....I Made the appointment today to put a little style back into my bob! Love ya stay safe out there...

Elizabeth Najjar: Great tips, Justin! I just had a bob cut and realize why I look like a bubble! And, why I have looked like a puppy in the past! Now, I can communicate very precisely, what I want! Thanks!

Jessica Dufort: I love that you brought the idea of body mechanics into how you’re styling- you’re a smarty darty with an underlying understanding of the entire playing field!

Tammy Jones: Thanks so much for the super helpful tips! My bob is growing out and I'm trying to decide on a shape that doesn't leave the dog ears!

sunshine 99: That was so helpful and informative especially as I have been contemplating having a bob for a few weeks now..but not sure which length or cut to go for..I feel much more confident now about requesting the style of bob I need..thankyou so much..I love all your videos..

Mary Davis: When trying to find a stylist in a new area, what are the most important questions to ask during a consultation to decide if they could work well on your hair?

Jane powell: I am currently growing out my layers to get a Bob !!!!!! Really interesting video, thank you, very helpful xx

Mary DidYouKnow: I think it really depends on the hair when it comes to layering. Mine is both thin and fine and just tends to look trashed when it's layered. But a nice one-length bob usually anywhere just above my chin to just below my cheekbones (the best, in my opinion), is very nice, because it's already so light that movement isn't an issue. I hadn't thought of following the angle of my jawline, though. Thanks!!

Edith P.: I loved your video. Great info. I wear a short bob in the summer and longer bob in the winter. I am new to your channel. I did see the surprise at the end. I can't wait to watch your video on flat ironing as a pro. I have fine but wavy hair so I prefer my hair straight.

James Davis: Just found you on YouTube! Thanks for the tips and how down to earth you are, and how well you explain things! Can’t wait to look at the rest of your videos. Take care...

Maria Ahlquist: It really helps me to understand about having bob haircut. I love your videos and I get a lot of information from them. Thank you so much and I look forward to the next video.

Donna: I’m subscribed. I’ve sent your you tube video to others. This is July & I’m not trying to win something. I just want to keep your videos going! As the sign beside you says, Haircuts are hell. Took me a few views to get used to you (lol) but you are spot on! Absolutely brilliant. When you say it a lightbulb goes on in my head! You have a gift of understanding and giving that back to us. I have picked the best hairdressers and I don’t have to tell you what a debacle they can cause sigh . These videos and all the prep necessary are not easy so thank you.

FMBxo: I got my hair cut into a bob today which I've done many times and thankfully my current hairdresser does well. I have straight/slightly wavy hair that is fine but not super thin, the top is flat and ends puffy, it took a long time to find a stylist who realized even though i have fine hair my ends need thinning and i need layers. Bobs suit my face well.

Diane Hunter: A version of the bob has been my hair style for in almost forever. Thanks for the tips. I have fine hair and finding someone who knows what yo do has been a long road.

Kathryn Claridge: I've worn a Bob or some version of a Bob/lob for years! It's so easy to maintain and so versatile. I have super straight fine hair but as I'm aging I find it breaks easily. Any suggestions or recommendations as to products or any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've stopped blow drying and only fix the ends after its thoroughly dry. Thanks. Glad to have found your channel. You're amazing!

Sushanta Kumar Ray: (Writing from my dad's account)- All my life I had blunt Bob (as Mom wanted, I wasn't very happy though!), this year due to pandemic & no haircut, my hairs crossed shoulder length(I got really excited ),and unfortunately I realised how thin n oily my hairs are( accompanied by a rather chubby square-ish face! Yuck!!!) And now I decide to revert back to my Bob( Mom, well, was-is-will be always right-o!!!)! I take your advice and am moving forward to take up an A-line Bob now! Thanks a bunch~ love from India

Lori Roberts: Love your knowledge and your personality. I love that you use your Mom, and your Wife in many of your videos ❤️

Mel T.: In addition to being extremely helpful, you have such a likable personality - so kind, humble and fun!

Kimmi McKnight: I love that your vids are more like talking with a good friend as opposed to talking to a complete stranger. I love that you bring that to us, your followers! Rock on!

N P: Thank you. All the tips you and your wife give have helped me style my hair. I've even received compliments, I think, because I properly applied mousse.

Susan Chaney: Great video! I am hair challenged and can't use a flat iron/curling iron. Think I need an appointment with you! And...you are a fantastic editor, so fun to watch.

D. H.: Justin, you are an amazing teacher/instructor! Thank you and good luck with the 20K!! ;-)

Sabsa 70: Honestly Justin, I subscribed a while ago and from the first video I saw, I thought „Wow! This man knows what he is talking about!“. But this video here blew my mind!!! It is soooo good. I wear a bob and I learned things I‘ve never heard of before. Thank you so much Justin, for taking your time to explain me/us in detail, funny, interesting, with all your heart. I am NOT writing this to impress you or to ingratiate me. I truly mean it❣️ Hugs and kisses, Sabine

Monique MC: No one has ever made me really think about a bob like this. Never did I realize how in-depth this is.

Stacey Matthews: Just discovered your channel and I am binge watching! So many great tips and you are great at explaining!

Rena Mae McDonald: I really wish I had a stylist like you! I'm seriously thinking of a bob cut. My hair is pin straight on top & quite wavy underneath, also it's medium fine & thick. I like to flat iron my hair but putting some curl in with the flat iron would be a great choice as well

Sue Schlotterer: I just found you on UTUBE and love all of your informative videos . First advice I got out of one of your videos is seek out a professional hair dresser that offers consultations. It has been a bit difficult with the virus and shops being closed. I have been all over the internet trying to find a shop that has award winning stylist, I live in Vegas and am looking for the stylist that can give me advice for my type of straight thinning hair. I am 75 year old female that is looking for a style that fits my outgoing personality. Right now it is shoulder length from what I can tell I have a oval shape face with high cheek bones. I do not mind having short hair again (thanks to moving to Las Vegas with very low humidity) is there any suggestions that you can provide to me? Thanks Carole

Lori: LOVE that intro! Sharing now...you will get to 20,000 soon. I'm sure of it!!! You create the most in depth info to help us all make the right decisions for our hair choices. Maybe you and your wife can make a tour and come to Georgia for appointments! And FYI....I haven't bought the flat iron yet. LOL!

Kekkelpenney Peckeltoot: Imo the best hair tips you can find. You actually get the info you need and a great explanation on why you may want it that way. Thanks so much!

caroline john: Hi Justin, only found you a few weeks ago but have subscribed, shared and binge watched all your videos. Have learned so much and every video sees me nodding my head emphatically over something you've said. In THIS video it was my hair flicking up on the upper trapzes! Grrrr...... Now I know it's not what I am doing, I just need it a little shorter ! TA RAAAAA!! LOVE your channel, love your fun, light delivery of SOOO much info and love that you have a passion for your craft and for helping us know what is best for us as individuals and how to achieve that ! You are a diamond ! I have to disagree with you on one point however - it's not us that your channels popularity is down to - it IS YOU! if you weren't brilliant, you wouldn't have grown so quickly. I'm thrilled for you. Much love and respect from a stormy, cold Wales, UK

Stephanie Knaus: Justin - love your channel and just subscribed which yes I intend to share 20k woo hoo gotta help a brotha out! My question is... did you ever do a feature on growing out a pixie? - I'm interested in going from a standard pixie to a longer pixie into a bob because I've had this length for some years now and I really loved it but want something softer and more feminine vs fierce. I just never anticipated the pain point of the grow out. My hair is fine and naturally wavy, Ive had the length cut to match the top growth which my stylist said we'll have to allow it to catch up withoutlookinglike a mullet. I like the more modern bobs with a defined vertical wave so #hairgoals but struggling with the process. Any direction or advice would be much appreciated. Good luck in reaching your goal and I look forward to upcoming posts.

Ac Haley: Your content is outstanding. That is why you are growing. God has blessed you with skill and the ability to share with joy. Thank you. Btw. I am a hairdresser since 1982,! Keep up the great work, ❤️⭐️✅

Sonya Curti: What I need is a community of hairstylist that can ACTUALLY cut ✂️ this style. I have had 6 bad haircuts in a row! I specifically ask them if they are clear on what I am asking for. I swear they are practicing on me!!! You can tell when they are cutting they do not have the confidence to pull it off. I went home and cut my sides after my last hair cut...... SO FRUSTRATING! I'm super tired of not having what I want. Still growing and still waiting. If the next hairdresser shaves the back of my neck (way too short) I swear I will break their hand. Yes, I'm very clear about what I want grrrrr

avgonyma1: I love you content, you have the hair knowledge that i knew exists but most hairdressers seem to lack! There are too many ones who will just cut the same cut to every person (provided they decided to go for that cut), without considering that they all need slight modifications, to account for how their type of their hair is going to behave!

Connie Ebinger: Thank you for all the tips! I don’t have any trouble watching your videos to the end. Only thing is it makes me want to have you do my hair because as someone else commented, I don’t know a hairdresser who is this knowledgeable and don’t think it would go over well to ask my hairdresser to watch your videos and learn how to cut hair like you do. Ha ha Also I won’t be winning the drawing when you reach 20,000 subscribers because as I am watching this video you have 184,000! Congratulations!

Cathy Ritter: So glad found this channel. Haven’t had a cut since February and your tips are helping me decide what to try next with my fine hair.

Akhila: Hi! I have long thick hair and I'm planning to get a bob/lob. Please let me know of you have any suggestions. I have oval face and its been many years im maintaining this super long thick hair. I just feel to have a change now. Looking forward to your suggestion. Thank you! Amazing videos! Keep going :)

Wendi Jackson: Question: In the 2008 movie Doomsday, how would I describe to my stylist Rhona Mitra's haircut? Disconnected lob? I tried to get it cut last year and the stylist cut it ABOVE my jaw line in a blunt cut. I looked like I had a bowl haircut. 5 years of growing my hair out wasted..

Barbara Wolcott: Wow Justin! I just found your video. I love the bob cut! More than that, I love that you understand hair length and texture as to what best compliments the face shape!

Bunchy66: Thanks so much for just an informative video. I now know what type of bob to have. Good luck with getting to 20k, Just subbed and liked. xx

Jil Tunks: Thanks for an informative video about bobs. I have a round face and am letting the layers grow from a short hair style. My hair is thin but where it is full is just below the curve of my head in the back. Any suggestions on how to make it all fit together without looking bulky in that one area when the crown area is thin and tends to separate.? Thanks

Laura Jeffs: I wish you was my hairdresser! You are a genius.I am fascinated on your knowledge of hair.My hair was cut in a lob and I started to look like a 60's throwback.More so now my hairdresser gave me a fringe which is so thick. You are amazing!

Pamela Murray: Just discovered you! Loving the education ❤️ Will you please film a series for wavy/curly hair?

Kendall Reaves: Love your videos....I love a bob with soft curls in it....I haven't had a style ever...until now. Love it!

Yessika Negron: Justin, I need help!!! I like my hair stylist... I think she does a great job at coloring my hair, but I do not think she is great at cutting it. About a month ago I asked her to chop off my long hair into a bob. Well...Now my hair looks like a triangle most of the time. It is very heavy at the bottom and even though my hair is staring to thin out, I still have a lot of body in it which makes my bob look more like a ball. It is very hard to find a reputable hairdresser here. I’ve had less than pleasant experiences in the past. I live in Tampa, Florida- do you know anyone in this area that you would recommend?

QueenCoCoaMocha: Ahhh, you're the Casey Neistat of hair... this is a different vibe - very creative!! So, I have this bob wig out the box looks great but the ends curve under, no layers when I wear it. I thought the length would be short enough where no customizing is needed when I ordered ‍♀️ it was specific to lengths. I took a guess and supposedly my neck is short So here I am learning a few things from the pro! Hope everything goes well - very pricy wig but I'm about to cut and multi-color ...seems like I'm stalking your channel now

Lori W: Finally! Someone who explains the techniques precisely. Not just how to do it, but also why -the study of structure and behavior-fun science!!

Lynn Baumgartner: Hello from Buffalo NY, I like your videos, very informative and you make them interesting, especially like the outdoor ones. I love bob haircuts on me, I have thick wavy hair and a square face, I have had them short, to stacked and lobs. Now my hair is one length to my shoulders. Most days I leave my natural wave, because it takes so long to smooth my hair. Anyway keep up the fantastic content.

Claudia Larsson: Hi Justin and thank you for your channel. Really appreciate your work. I have a question. Actually two. I’ve heard that there is controversy with razoring thin flyaway hair. I’ve been having a Bob cut that I do like - now it’s grown out due to pandemic- stylist is great and experienced but he does razor kind of angling the sides. Don’t know how to explain here. Lol. There is some background. I have post chemo hair. Had breast cancer in 2016 obvs lost all hair. It grew back super thin. I had beautiful hair before this. Never coloured. Hair was med to thick. Healthy. Shiny. Now I have hair that to me, looks damaged- tho my stylist assures me it is not. Still, I was used to just better hair - and to be fair to him he did not know me or my hair prior to cancer. Anyway it’s been four years so its looks like this is what I’ve got. Grateful to have hair tho. Now that my hair has grown out of the cut it I want to find a style that will respect my hair type and also not make it appear thinner. I feel like the razoring made the style really cute but my hair felt super thin. Now it’s feeling a bit thicker but obvs in no real style. Ok. Thanks for any suggestions. ❣️

Senorita Steffy: Just watching this now and see you've reached 166k - well done! Love your videos, this is the first one I've seen from the inside of your salon

maddy: Omg this really helped me understand a lot more than I thought I did. Thanks so much for this video.

Elly Mason: Love a bob. I have white grey hair and it’s getting thinner as I age but I still live a Bob.....you made a lot of sense talking about how hair grows out wide at the bottom when it’s wavy....mine has always done this. I need to find a hairdresser who understands it ...thanks for your great videos ...I love them

Taye Lynae H.: Justin, you rock! Thank you for the tips. They have been so helpful.

Lynda Brown: Wow, I've finally learned why I get the "Roseanne Rodanarana" look when my wavy hair grows out. Thank you so much.

Peanutbutterbutterfly: I've had some Aveda stylists really mess up my bob with the wrong layering. I have very fine, slightly wavy hair, naturally. Luckily those grew out fast! I have an expensive stylist now, but she still seems to struggle with the correct layering! What happened to the awesome bob layering I used to get in the 90's lol?!!

Karen Mason: I liked your video about bobs and hair length, etc.. When I was young my hair was thick and naturally wavy. Now I’m 63 and still naturally wavy, but now my hair always seems to be fly away and dry, and I just can’t figure out how to cut it. My face shape seems to be kind of long, and people have told me I look good with short hair, but I just don’t know. Covid has made me grow my hair out and I kind of like it longer, but I can’t stand the ends that are flying in my face. Do you have any suggestions for a hair product that will tame those annoying strands that fly away and get in my eyes?

Patricia Schexnaildre: Love love your channel!!! Thanks for all your helpful tips! I always look forward to your videos.....

Marla Urbanek: It is because of you! Your personality is always upbeat, fun and informative!

Maureen Jurmann: Justin, thank you for your awesome videos. I look forward to them every week! I just wish I had a hairstylist as good as you are. Any suggestions for seeking out super talented stylists like yourself. I live in the suburbs of Chicago. Thanks for your help!!

Denise Hadfield: Yes I am subscribed in Australia listening to you...love the way you describe and detail everything xx

Linda Wade: I loved your video. I am frustrated that no matter how many pictures I bring with me to the hairdresser, showing layering, they cut my hair in pretty much a one-length bob. Also, they keep cutting the back short, and straight across like a man, although my pictures show the hair long enough to put a roller on the bottom layer. In the back the bottom layer looks too thin, almost able to see through it and jagged, although I have a lot of hair. She also used a razor vertically on the back. I was upset when I got home. I have no idea how to make a hairdresser see what the picture shows. Any suggestions?

Teresa Fulton: I love how detailed you are in your videos!

Holly Berry: I’m trying so hard to get my hair one length and bobbed again but it’s soooooo thick I have to constantly straighten it and so I have a lot of broken bits. I have a natural wave through my hair and hate it but the humidity in Qld Australia is a killer hence I constantly use flat irons. Such a big fan of bobs though ! Love the blunt cut

Margo Chertock: So.....I have baby fine hair and have been trying to achieve the perfect bob for my whole life! Of course it looks great when my hair dresser styles it, but I can never get it to look that good AND it takes me almost an hour to blow dry. Is there a video with styling tips for a bob?

Carol Mielke: You’re a great designer, I know because I’m one but for interior/exterior design and flowers/greenery, sincerely, Carol❤️

C-L Rössel: Thank you. I have fine thin hair grown out from the pandemic and I have been wondering about what I should do with it.

Tina Fry: Hell, I love watching you! You are awesome. My hair type is odd I have fine curly hair but don’t hold curl. Never know what to do and it don’t grow fast at all. I would love to see episode of products that I can afford.

Alisha Bradbury: im a girl going to donate my hair once i have reached the required length. i have had long hair my whole life and finally excited for this change. my hair is very this and wavy with a heart shaped face. i have dont a lot of research on what lob/bob i want but the more i look into it, the more complex it feels and less idea i have. do you have any advice? thanks justin or anyone hahaha help

Joy Wind: I have a Bob and love it! Your videos are great. Would love to win your giveaway. I know you will his 20K soon.

clw2clw: Thanks for the helpful hints, I have learned a lot from your channel.

Debbie Maddox: Justin, I was wondering if you could do a segment on texturizing hair. I have thick, heavy and somewhat coarse hair. Some people have texturized all over, which can be too much. But my stylist right now is only taking the weight out of the ends so my heavy hair on top stays heavy while my ends are much lighter. But as I look at my hair it seems out-of sync somehow. Do you do zoom hair consults? When I first went to my current stylist she did what I asked for about a year, now she seems to be doing what she wants. Does she think my hair looked bad before and she is doing what she thinks looks better? I don't know what to do. 1 year seems to be the time when my stylist starts.doing what she wants. Advice?

Laura Whitlock: I just found your channel. I like your videos. I have 2c-3a curly hair that I wear natural. I've had a Bob in the past but didn't like it. I have a full round face and no matter what I did it would curl up and point at my chin. So I haven't tried it again. I would love to see a video(s) about cutting, styling and caring for curly hair. I would also like to see a video about how to choose a stylist. Thank you for all you do.

Robin Evans: Thank you Justin this was so informative wow! I’m loving your channel

Lynda Mcmullen: Thank you your explanation to my frizzy hair problem. ♥️

Nas: Nice informative and up to the point video! Already shared with all my friends

Susanna S: Hi to Justin from me in London! Just found you and love this video. I also have a bob haircut so this was brilliant to watch. I am your new subscriber! Thanks again ‍♀️
