Hey glam family wood here and today I'm doing some braids on my oldest son, Judy's hair. You guys didn't see I'm starting off by parting down the center of his hair here and then we'll clip off one side from the other. So this is actually a style that I did back in May for his wedding. I am gon na show you guys kind of replicate how I did it there once you have it separated in two you're gon na go ahead and part up. Another small section like you see here and don't worry I'll turn him a little bit. So you guys can kind of see the difference in thickness. This small section is gon na, be literally the most intricate part of it, and really this whole braid design, I think, is pretty simple. If you know how to do basic cornrows, so you guys can see the thickness of the top section versus the bottom section a little bit of a difference from there we're gon na make diagonal partings and when I had decided to come a little closer. So you could more easily see what's going on and don't worry I'll get it a better angle here in a moment momentarily that way you can more easily see as well. While I'm braiding I am using some braiding gel. I have shine and jam on there. If you haven't seen it before, I will make sure to show that on the video and it will be listed in the drop box down below okay. So once I've got that done that diagonal angle, I'm gon na go ahead and maybe about an eighth of an inch to a fourth of an inch section. I'M going to do another braid right next today and we're just going to kind of continue this process out. Make sure you're not doing these braids overly tight? That'S the one thing I like about the braiding jaw is: it helps it to look tighter without actually pulling the hair tighter, keep in mind that you're going to be manipulating this hair a couple different ways. So you don't want it to be too snug and tearing up their scalp, so you guys can see. I'Ve got a closer angle here. Just you can more easily see the beginning of the braids and kind of what everything is. Looking like how neat things are. Looking notice, the scalp is not red at all. It'S not looking super tight, you don't want it to be overly snug. The last thing you need is traction alopecia here and from there I'm just going to continue to work down this section of the head towards the back. Now like I said this is a pretty simple technique. So if you are a beginning level, braid or it may be a little challenging just because the partings, but the braiding itself is really easy, because everything is just nothing but straight braids. So if you're new to doing braided designed, I highly recommend doing this one here by the way, while you're watching please check out our instagram at get glam, fam and i'll. Also post, my son, Juju's instagram, he's a tattoo artist if you're interested in his work or finding out more about our relationship with each other. It was a shine and gem. I just showed on the screen and from there i'm gon na go ahead and comb it through after i place it all the way around the borders of this section. This just kind of helps to clean things up make it look smoother, give a little added hold and give a nice shine to the hair. I love it for braiding because it helps out quite a bit with giving control and taking down flyaways and frizz from there. I'M gon na go ahead and begin cornrowing at the front of this section and I'm going to go ahead and begin braiding back now. You don't want to instantly start adding in those braids that you had in there. So you guys will see me kind of pulling up and checking the distance I'll explain to you once I get there exactly what's going on. I do like to make sure that I'm cleaning up my sections whenever I'm doing braids this large. So if it's looking different to you in terms of how I'm holding the hair and how I'm braiding it's, because I'm trying to be more precise with the pieces of hair that I'm picking up just to give a more consistent look, you guys can see. I picked up there and I didn't like the angle it was flowing out. It looked like it would pull too tight on his hair, so I went ahead and put it down. I'M gon na go another couple steps and then I'll add in once. I do that. You'Ll see me braid two steps and then I'll add in and I'll keep that pattern all the way down. So if you decide to go three steps, add in two steps add in four steps out of. However many steps you decide to go based on the distance of your braids stay consistent, that's! What'S going to make it look that much more neat and professional. A lot of times, if you don't keep your partings and like a congruent shaping and if you don't pick them up consistently at the same size and distance apart. That'S where you begin to lose the sight of that pattern, and it just looks messy instead of looking really neat other than that. I mean this great design, as you guys can see. Isn'T that super complex, I'm literally just at this point doing this is more like a sprayed, keep in mind, I'm keeping my hands down to the bottom side of that part line. So, instead of having the small braids travel a far distance, I want that large braid to just rest on the part line. Now, of course, you can position that braid wherever you like. I just like the way that this looks especially for men's braids. You know this is really more of an intricate design for most men these days, but you know, do do let me have at it. So I was down at anyway from there you're gon na go ahead and braid that section all the way down and then we'll go ahead and repeat the process on the other side, which I won't show you, because I don't want to waste your time and you Already saw it on this side, so once you're finished, it should look about like this here. Like I said, this is actually the style that I did on his hair for his wedding in May super happy for him and his wife. They are such a lovely couple. I really really adore them and I'm young until next time you guys take care, god bless and stay clam.
