How To Create A Mermaid Loop Braid | Easy Braided Hairstyles

Today, Kilee and I will use her beautiful blonde hair to show you how to create this darling #mermaid loop braid style? ♀️
When I say that this style is easy you guys, I mean this style is EASY! It’s such a great hairstyle because it’s casual, but it gives your hair a little extra flare!
This would be such a great style for summertime because it gets your hair out of your face, and you could even create a cute ponytail or bun at the base of this style. This hairstyle is very versatile!

Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, hair elastics, hairspray {if desired}.
Time Requirement: 5-10 minutes
Skill Level: Easy
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Pull up the top section of hair (about an inch above each ear). Secure with an elastic hair wrap the elastic.
Step 2: Divide the ponytail in half, and begin a 3 strand braid on the right section of hair.
Step 3: Begin a normal 3 strand braid stitch.
Step 4: As you begin the second stitch of the braid, reach up to the front of the head and pull a small section of hair into the braid. Continue this same pattern for 3 more stitches.
Step 5: Finish out the rest of the right section with a normal 3 strand braid all the way down the hair. Secure with elastic.
Step 6: Repeat steps 3-5 now on the left section of hair
Step 7: As you reach the end of the braid on the left side, remove the elastic from the right section and join the 2 sections together with the elastic. Pancake and fluff the braids if needed!

( upbeat music, ), Hey everyone, I'm Mindy McKnight with Cute Girls, Hairstyles, and I have Kilee here with me. She's my niece and she is letting me borrow her blonde hair to film some tutorials for you guys.. So today, I'm gon na show you how to do what we're calling the mermaid loop braid.. So this one's awesome, I love it especially on such lovely golden hair.. Okay, you guys to start this hairstyle. What I've done is pulled up the top section of her hair.. I left about an inch above either ear and I pulled it back and I secured it with an elastic right here and then I hair wrapped that elastic.. So now we have this nice little section right here, and this is what we're gon na use. We're gon na divide, that in half like this and I'm gon na take this right, half and then I'm gon na start a three strand braid.. So I'm gon na do one stitch of the braid and then on the second stitch, I'm gon na reach over here to this side and I'm gon na pick up a piece of hair and I'm gon na pull it back.. Now you can see that I didn't pull the hair all the way across.. I only picked up a section right in the front'cause. I want this stranded look to it., So I'm gon na bring this over and add it into that second stitch. And I'm gon na pull it pretty snug'cause. I want it giving a little tight pull on this side of the braid.. So now I'm gon na go again and reach over here and get another piece of hair. Like this.. I'Ve added in again. Finish that stitch reach over and pick up a little section of hair. And add it into that stitch and I'm gon na do one more. So that's four total., Then I'm gon na add it in and then I'm gon na just finish up the rest of it with a normal braid.. Take it down and when you get down far enough, just finish it off with an elastic to hold for now. And then what we're going to do is repeat on the other side.. So we pick up this side of the hair that section that we had at the top. And we're going to repeat. So start with three sections.. This is a normal strand. Braid. Do one entire stitch and then, on that second stitch reach over and grab a piece of hair and pull it back and add it in. And again I'm going to pull pretty snug'cause. I want it giving that braid a little bit of a side. Tug., Add it again: we're gon na do four sections. And then finish it off with a regular braid.. This time, when I get down to the end, I'm actually gon na secure the ends, together. Kind of pick up all of her other hair in the process.. So I'm gon na remove this elastic and then secure them together at the end. And what we did by pulling that hair a little snug was we created this little outward shape, so it creates this nice little loop and there you go., Okay, you guys, let's do The final spin. Here we go, you can see the nice little mermaid stranding loop in the back and more mermaid stranding., And there you have it so cute., Especially on such pretty pretty blonde hair..
