My favorite hairstyles over the years happen to be the ones that are so easy to do, but leave your friends wondering exactly how you did it!

Today's braid is just like that, and was emailed to me by a fan asking if I can show you how to create it! The Pull-Through Braid is so easy, even a daddy can do it! Here I show how to create a high braid version on CGH#3, and then I show you Brooklyn's DIY side braid version that she did herself this morning.

Enjoy!

Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, 1 hair band, 10+/- small hair elastics, hairspray and accessory {if desired}.

Time Requirement: 5-7 minutes

Skill Level: Easy

[, MUSIC PLAYING ] ( SINGING ). You are the icing on my cake.. You are the smile. I can't replace., You are you are. -Hey braider nation., I'm Amy from Cute Hair Styles, and today I'm going to teach you how to do the pull-through braid.. So it kind of looks like a regular braid when you're done, but I think it's really cool and it definitely holds better.. So, let's get started. Now we started by putting some twists into the top of her head just to add a little bit of texture.. Now, that's definitely not necessary., You can just do a slicked-back, ponytail or one braid or anything to jazz it up if you want to., But once you've had it in a secure high ponytail you're going to divide the hair into two pieces, just kind of like top And bottom. Then you're going to take a small elastic --. Thank you, she's, going to be my elastic helper today, -- and you're going to go down about 2 inches and go ahead and wrap the elastic around that hair. Just twice is fine.. It doesn't have to be super tight., Then. What you're going to do is divide the hair in half., So you're going to make a little hole in that section that you just created. You're going to reach through and you're, going to pick up the back section and pull it through. And then you're just going To go back, give the elastic a little tug just to tighten it up and you're ready to go.. So now again, you have two pieces top and bottom and you're going to take another elastic and go ahead and go down about 2 inches put the elastic around the hair., So you're, just repeating the same steps at this point. Make a hole through the middle.. You can use a topsy tail if you have one or your fingers either will work. Reach down grab that bottom section., It's easier, the second time because you've got elastic in it and pull it through and then just tighten up, underneath. And you're going to continue to Repeat this over and over. So elastic, create a hole, reach through and then go underneath. Tighten it up a little bit. Elastic. Thank you. Caught some of that bottom hair. Make a hole. Pull it through., Tighten it up.. So when you get to the end, I pulled this last section through and I'm just going to hook them together this time and put one more elastic in the end of it.. Now, if you want, this is kind of a skinny braid., So I'm just going to go back and just pull on either side of them and kind of flatten them out pancake them a little bit. Just gon na give it a wider. Fuller. Look like that. I like better. The best thing about this particular braid is that it holds really really well because you've got so many elastics mixed in there. It looks like a regular braid sort of.. You can tell it's not because it's missing that third strand down the middle, but it also holds a lot better. Like she slept in it with her hair and it looked like the same hairstyle, the next day.. It was crazy., It looked great., So there you go and you're finished.. You can take a little bow or something whatever you'd like put it at the top for a little funny accent and you are done.. I love it.. Let'S do the spin. Very cute., So I think this hairstyle would even be a great daddy do because it's really pretty basic, but it's definitely one that all ages can do. Themselves. Brooklyn did hers for the first time this morning. -And it was super easy and fast, and it turned out great. -I thought it was really simple, very basic, so great one for all ages and you guys are really going to like it.. So last week we filmed a family video where I showed off my Minnie Mouse buttons. But if you guys missed the hair tutorial, you can find it right. Here. It's over on the Disney Parks channel so make sure to check out. And next week. -- super exciting --. We have a `` Hunger, Games'', -related giveaway., You guys are going to love it.. It'S really crazy awesome. So come back and see us then, and we will see you next week. Bye, guys., See you. -Bye. -In the back. Again we're going to take that second half of her hair twist it around our fingers. Go ahead. [ MUSIC PLAYING ] ( SINGING )! You are, you, are you are every bit of beautiful, -Hey buddy? What are you doing? -Jumping. -What? Are you jumping on -A trampoline. -Can? You show us how you can do a flip, Scoot back and show me how you can do a flip. OK. Right, there. -I. Can'T stop. -Do one. Ooh nice. How about a cartwheel -A cartwheel with no hands. -OK., Do a cartwheel with no hands. That was a nice cartwheel with no hands.. That was just like your flip. Good job, buddy

greenberryhair: I used this style on my daughter a couple of days ago. My daughter has fine hair and it is hard to just keep it in a braid or a ponytail that actually STAYS for half a day. I tried this one and when she came home from school, she still had a PERFECT looking ponytail and every bump in the braid was still perfect! This definitely does stay and will use this one quite often because she absolutely loved it. For idea on age, my daughter is about to turn 6, so it works on 1st graders and I'm sure it'll work on pre-k kids too!
